GL Recaps Week of June 12, 2006

Untitled Friday, June 16, 2006
Reva's condition deteriorated. She lamented that chemo was a picnic compared to the flu that she had contracted. Dr. McCabe urged Reva to call someone, but she wouldn't let him phone Josh. In their room, Tammy bounced on the bed, excited to leave town with Jonathan. After all, she maintained, there was nothing keeping them in town. Jonathan flashed back to his conversation with Lizzie about the baby and agreed that there was no reason for them to remain in Springfield. Tammy and Jonathan had sex, and as they prepared to leave town, the phone rang. Jonathan answered the call from Dr. McCabe, who urged him to come to the hospital immediately.

Jonathan made an excuse with Tammy and rushed into Reva's room. He was alarmed to see how sick Reva had become. He asked what he could do for his mother, and she responded that he could acknowledge the baby. Jonathan maintained that walking away was the best thing he could do for the baby, but Reva claimed that he would regret his actions if he didn't come clean about his child. McCabe warned Jonathan that Reva's condition was "very serious." Jonathan asked the doc to sit with Reva while he took care of something. Jonathan looked at the sonogram photo, then spotted Billy, who was at the hospital for an AA meeting. With Jonathan gone, Billy walked into Reva's room. He revealed that Jonathan had told him that Reva had breast cancer. Billy wanted to know what he could do to help.

Olivia and Frank arrived at Lizzie and Coop's wedding. Olivia wondered if Coop would go through with the wedding, while Frank was more concerned about Ava. Alan-Michael arrived and offered Marina a glass of champagne. He confessed to being nervous to see Marina, and she accused him of using a line. Marina teased that if Alan-Michael had asked her to be his date to the wedding, it would have been fun to turn him down.

Lizzie chatted with Beth as Lillian styled the bride's hair (The girl who wanted doves at the wedding didn't hire a hairdresser?). Lizzie worried that Ava might show up, but Beth assured that she had taken care of that possibility. Coop knocked on the door and asked to speak to Lizzie alone. Coop promised that while his focus had been divided, after he and Lizzie were married, she would never need doubt him again. Lizzie vowed that she would be a wonderful wife and mother, and she believed that Coop would love her again. Buzz arrived, and Coop explained that the wedding would still go on as planned. Meanwhile, Tammy arrived at Company, which was closed for the wedding, and rescued Ava from the meat locker. Tammy and Ava went to Lizzie and Coop's wedding, where they concealed themselves behind a curtain.

Alan-Michael flirted with Marina. Alex warned Alan-Michael that Alan was watching, while Marina revealed to Frank that she was only being nice to Alan-Michael to figure out what he was up to. Coop promised his family that he wasn't nervous. He was happy. After all, it was his wedding day. Frank received a work call and left with Olivia. Marina approved. "I like her," she announced of Frank's new girlfriend. "Me too," sighed Buzz. The ceremony began. Marina walked down the aisle on Buzz's arm and Alan-Michael accompanied Alex, then excused himself from the ceremony. Lizzie arrived at the altar as Jonathan disembarked from the elevator. Beth and her chauffeur tried to get rid of Jonathan, but he punched the chauffeur and came crashing into the ceremony. Jonathan announced that he had something to say. Tammy revealed herself, and Jonathan apologized to his girlfriend. Lizzie shrieked that Jonathan would regret what he was doing, but Jonathan revealed anyway that he was the father of Lizzie's baby, not Coop.

Lizzie beamed to Beth that she had never known that she could be that happy, then ran off to do some "errands" before the wedding. Meanwhile, Jonathan saw a news article about Lizzie's wedding as Tammy picked out outfits, excited to attend the ceremony. When Tammy left to meet Coop, Jonathan stared at the sonogram photo. Lizzie showed up, hoping to convince Jonathan to walk away from the baby for good. She reminded him that he had as much to lose as he did. Lizzie went to get dressed for the wedding, and Jonathan ignored Reva's message, urging Jonathan to claim his child. Coop asked Tammy to keep Jonathan away from the wedding. Insulted, Tammy insisted that if Jonathan wasn't invited, neither was she. That's too bad, Coop replied. Tammy informed Jonathan that Coop had uninvited them. Tammy wanted to leave town immediately and Jonathan agreed that they would go soon...but there was something that he had to do first.

Ava and Coop wished each other happiness and shared a steamy kiss goodbye before coming to their senses. Coop headed for the ceremony, and Lizzie approached Ava. Lizzie warned that Coop and Ava were through: Lizzie won. The girl's bickered until Lizzie left for the wedding. Beth showed up with a goon who locked Ava in the Company meat locker. Meanwhile, Lizzie assured Lillian that Coop was the best thing for her and the baby. Beth arrived and promised Lizzie that everything was taken care of.

Josh asked Reva to accompany him to San Francisco to meet with an architect, hoping the trip would allow them to reconnect. Reva turned down his offer, claiming she was coming down with a cold and wanted to attend Lizzie's wedding. Josh departed in a huff. Reva received a package: a silver rattle she had ordered for her future grandchild. Jonathan called to say goodbye and tell Reva that he and Tammy were leaving town. Reva then went to the hospital, where Colin warned that what she believed was a cold was actually the flu — a serious illness for a cancer patient.

Alan warned Beth that Coop would never love Lizzie and filled his wife in on catching Coop and Ava in a clinch. However, Beth remained confident the baby would bring Coop and Lizzie together. Beth flirted with Buzz, who made her favorite pastry for the wedding reception. The groom arrived and Alan grilled Coop about Ava, and Coop reassured that he would take his responsibilities as father and husband seriously (of course, he was seriously kissing Ava 15 minutes before...). Alan offered to help Coop provide for Lizzie and the baby.

Josh's late father, H.B., appeared to Josh in a dream to say he's proud of his son. Reva canceled on yet another event to sneak to chemotherapy, and Cassie filled in for her sister...again. Another ghostly visit from H.B. caused Josh to reschedule his trip out of town.

RJ got into trouble for fighting and begged the school counselor to call Josh instead of Cassie. However, both adults went to the school. RJ explained to Cassie that he started the fight because he was teased for not having a dad. Josh defended Cassie's parenting to the principal, who observed that it was obvious how much Josh loves Cassie.

Josh was confused to run into Jonathan, since Reva told him that she'd be with her son, but Jonathan covered for his mom. H.B.'s spirit warned Josh that the boy was lying. Josh went to Cassie's farm to help RJ with a school project. Cassie insisted that she couldn't allow herself to keep depending so much on Josh, but reluctantly agreed to allow Josh to help with the project. Josh and RJ wet to Cross Creek, where they bonded over the assignment and Josh's stories of H.B. Back at the farmhouse, Cassie thanked Josh for his help. She latched onto Josh when there was a loud crash of thunder. Josh leaned in to kiss Cassie on the cheek, but they kissed on the lips instead. H.B. reappeared and asked Josh what happened to the man who got everything he wanted as Josh looked in on Cassie and RJ.

Buzz was shocked when Frank informed him that Coop was planning to marry Lizzie. He took off to "rescue his son." Meanwhile, Lizzie and Beth were enjoying lunch at Towers and discussing wedding plans. Coop overheard some of them and balked at the idea of a horse-drawn carriage and Lizzie's other overboard ideas. Alan pretended to be glad for the young couple, while Buzz, who arrived as well, threw a fit over the wedding. Alan suggested that Buzz calm down and throw Coop a bachelor party.

Frank, Buzz, Alan and Coop gathered at Company for the bachelor party. Alan informed Buzz that the wedding would break up without his interference, just as Ava came in. Later, Buzz gave Coop cufflinks that Jenna had given him. He tried to tell Coop that he could be a good father without giving up his life. Coop insisted he wanted to marry Lizzie, then stepped outside for air. Ava was sitting outside. She told him that if she was a different person, more like Olivia or Lizzie, she would kiss Coop now and demand he not marry Lizzie, but because she is the way she is, she couldn't ask him to walk away from something he had to do. They said goodbye to each other, and he took off for a walk. Alan, with Buzz, watched their encounter smugly through the window. Alan realized that Buzz wouldn't try to stop him if he tried to break up the wedding. Frank comforted Ava.

Jonathan brought Reva to his place, where she explained all the pills she had to take for her cancer. Meanwhile, Josh obsessively straightened up Cross Creek before filming a TV interview with a local Tulsa station. Billy tried to calm him down. Reva called to cancel on him, upsetting Josh. She suggested Cassie take her place. Reva and Jonathan had a couple of drinks while she spoke emotionally about her hair, which was coming out due to her chemo. Jon cut, then shaved Reva's head. Later, she modeled a wig for him, and then harassed him about claiming his daughter with Lizzie.

On Main Street, Tammy and other friends and family toasted Lizzie. Marina offered to Lillian and Alexandra to break up the wedding, but Alex said she was giving up. Lizzie thanked Tammy for the party. Alex gave Lizzie diamond earrings that she had wanted since she was a little girl; they once belonged to Alex's mother. Beth thanked Lillian for helping to make the day so special. Lillian reminded her daughter about how unhappy she was when Phillip married Mindy out of obligation after getting her pregnant years ago. Beth didn't care. She was determined to protect and see Lizzie happy at all costs. Jonathan knocked punch out of Lizzie's hand, thinking she was having an alcoholic drink. Tammy pulled him away and they headed home.

Back at Cross Creek, Billy wondered why Reva was always canceling on Josh. Joshua was angry that Billy was trying to find cracks in his relationship with Reva. Later, Billy accused Cassie of having feelings for Josh. She tried to deny it, but he kept on pushing her. When the TV reporter arrived, Cassie stepped in for Reva and gushed about Josh and the project, while Billy watched. Later, Reva showed up in a long red wig, and pretended to be a woman named "Carlotta." She asked him to make steaks for them. When he left, she pulled off her wig and studied her bald head, while practicing telling Josh about being sick. She couldn't do it for real, though. Later, Cassie studied an old photo of Josh and Reva.

Reva tumbled to the ground just as Gus bore down on her. Then Spider-Man...er, Jonathan, leaped on top of her and rolled her away as sound effects told viewers the car drove on without stopping. When Reva complained of arm pain Jonathan tried to summon an ambulance, but she balked, so he picked up her pills and dragged her personally. At Cedars, she was more interested in browbeating him into taking responsibility for his daughter. Jonathan stormed out and decided to empty his pockets. Then he examined her pill bottle and noticed a reference to chemotherapy. When he confronted her, he called her "Mom," which apparently got to her; she confessed, "I have cancer, okay?" How bad is it? Hard to tell. "I'm gonna beat this thing," she insisted. "This is just a bump in the road — or, in my case, a lump in my breast." Shockingly, Jonathan started weeping. Reva consoled him, then admitted Josh doesn't know — nobody else knows. He freaked about her lecturing him about family responsibility. She rationalized about not spoiling Josh and H.B.'s dream, and said she wanted to get to know her grandchild. When Jonathan threatened to Josh, Reva promised to do it — but only his he comes clean about knocking up Lizzie. So they agree to stay silent. They embraced, and she asked him to do something "important" for her.

Coop gave Lizzie a ring he deemed "kinda special" and suggested going straight to the courthouse for a marriage license. Later, at City Hall, Lizzie bubbled, and Coop felt her tummy — just as Ava walked by (as if this was Company). Coop offered to explain about the license, but Ava didn't want to hear it. The clerk, however, wanted the happy couple to have a witness, so Ava stepped up. After the distraught Ava fled, Coop suggested eloping on the spot, but Lizzie held out for a traditional wedding, which Coop agreed to, as long as it was "nothing crazy." (Good luck with that!) Later, Frank found Ava outside Company crying over the engagement. A shocked Frank tried to console her, but not even an ice cream sundae could help much. Back at City Hall, Lizzie pulled a strange bride's tossed bouquet out of a scrum of grabby girls.

Mallet was examining the "Payback's a bitch" note when he got call to meet someone. He left a message for Dinah warning her not to be a hero with Gus. At that very moment, Dinah discovered that Gus had, indeed, stopped: when he drove into a wall. He was unconscious amid piles of pills. "You're stoned out of your mind," she observed. (She was the CEO of a multinational corporation, remember, so she's smart.) Seeing flashing lights, the slack-jawed Gus observed, "Uh-oh, I'm in trouble." Dinah picked up the pills and replaced Gus behind the wheel before the cop arrived. She claimed she accidentally hit the gas, and offered to take sobriety tests. After examining her license and (Gus'?) registration, the copper left. (Apparently no report needed to be filed!) Meanwhile, at Company, Mallet greeted Regina — his old partner and the woman who came between him and Harley. Regina has been getting threatening notes, too. The duo figured the source is a hood they once put away. Dinah warned Gus she'll never cover for him again. Gus suggested that Mallet is with Harley right now, so Dinah slapped him, warning him to shut up about her fiancé. Oops — those beans are spilled. Gus took Dinah's cell, but couldn't bring himself to call Harley. Meanwhile, Mallet wanted to call Dinah to tell her she isn't a target after all, but Frank appeared with a copy of The Law, and explained that it contains Mallet's proposal. (He even acted it out!) Dinah told Gus Harley helped her clean up, so she can help Gus. Dinah wanted to flush his pills, but he insisted he has to be able to do it. Dinah left, and Gus eyed the pill bottle accusingly. Outside Company, Mallet bid goodbye to Regina, who gave him a spare key to her place and a hug — which was witnessed by a conveniently arriving Dinah. Gus tried to clean his pigsty and ignore the bottle of pretty two-tone blue pills.
