GL WEEK OF AUGUST 20, 2007 RECAPS

Week of Monday, August 20, 2007

Josh was skeptical when Reva insisted fate was keeping him from marrying Cassie. Meanwhile, Olivia begged Officer Diaz not to arrest her, but said Cassie is pressing charges. Cassie told Reva she's just looking out for her sister. Olivia told Jeffrey she doesn't want his law skills — or his pity — but he insisted on accompanying her downtown. Josh and Cassie resolved to make their marriage official by signing the papers at the clerk's office. At the police station, Marina was set to interrogate Olivia, who insisted she didn't want Jeff present, so he simply left. Marina hinted that Emma might have to go to Family and Child Services. Meanwhile, Josh and Cassie asked Jeffrey to be their witness. At Cedars, Officer Diaz asked Reva for a formal statement. She said she doesn't blame Olivia and can't even remember the accident. Then she checked herself out. When Josh and Cassie missed Evans the clerk, Jeffrey said Evans likes a nightcap at Towers. Jeff returned to interrogation, where he found Olivia on the floor after fainting when Marina mentioned taking Emma away. Jeffrey scolded Marina for letting her personal issues with Cyrus get in the way. Marina apologized and left, so Olivia left, too. (Does that count as an escape?) At Towers, the elevator was out of order, so Josh and Cassie ran up more than 42 flights of stairs, only find Towers closed for renovations. Luckily for them, Evans was there (Apparently he climbed 42 floors and cajoled a nightcap out of the bartender!) They begged to be married. "I don't have a wildly romantic side," he spat. Evans allowed them "five minutes," but they left the paperwork in the car, so Evans left. Cassie asked if this is a sign. Olivia returned to her room at the Beacon with Jeffrey, then Reva arrived with word that she told the cops she didn't remember much — but her memory could return at any time. Jeff left with Reva. Later, Reva and Jeffrey toasted. She noted the wedding didn't happen, but added, "I need you, Jeffrey." They kissed. Josh said he doesn't believe in signs; and they're married in every way that matters. They kissed.

In Ava's room a the Beacon, Coop confessed that he didn't love her like he did "before." She blamed Ashlee. Meanwhile, in Ashlee's room at the Beacon, Stuart flirted. Ash wanted to go for a walk, but he wanted to drink. She visualized Stuart as Coop. When Stuart kissed her, she imagined Coop. As Stuart babbled, she imagined Coop. Meanwhile, Coop insisted he was friends with Ashlee. Ava was indignant that Coop is falling for "poor little Ashlee." He said he "knew" it wouldn't work between him and Ava, but every time he tried to cool it with Ashlee he ends up back with her. "I want to be with her," he admitted. "If I can't have you in my bed, what's the point?" Ava wailed. He stalked out, leaving her weeping. He knocked on Ashlee's door then barged in to see Stuart with his pants unbuckled. Coop rushed him, shouting, "She's too good for you," and tossed Stuart out. "I can't believe you were going to sleep with him," Coop scolded. "You deserve better." Ashlee replied, "I know I do." She insisted it was a harmless date and Stuart was just changing into his gym clothes. She wondered why it mattered enough for him to ruin her date? Coop confessed he broke up with Ava. "I care for you," he said. "I want to be with you." She was skeptical of his timing and upset that he anguished over what a hard decision it was. It's so easy for her. He needed to come back when it's effortless. He stalked out, leaving her weeping. Later, he called to apologize and vowed not to give up on her. Ava appeared at Olivia's door, sobbing, "He dumped me." Liv told her to "fight for what's yours."
