Lizzie moped around feeling sad about Bill's condition, but when she got the call that the motion to suppress evidence was granted, she was thrilled that the coat found in Bill's room wouldn't be used against him. When Doris got word of the decision, she was furious and so was Alan. Lizzie told Alan how excited she was, and she apologized for accusing him of trying to frame Bill. Alan told Lizzie not to get too excited, because Bill's problems probably wouldn't go away that easily. Lizzie was sure things would work in Bill's favor, because she didn't think the prosecution had a case without the coat. When Lizzie and Alan got word that Doris was doing an interview on the case, they rushed to her office, and Lizzie interrupted the interview to accuse Doris of going after Bill to boost her resume. Doris stood firm in her decision, and assured Lizzie she was prosecuting Bill for her safety. Lizzie went home depressed, but cheered up when Alan told her she would be able to testify on Bill's behalf.

Marina and Mallet chatted with Frank about Thanksgiving, and Frank wondered why Marina kept mentioning marriage. After Frank left, Mallet accused Marina of wanting to tell Frank that they almost eloped. Marina accused Mallet of not being able to express his love for her in front of other people. They argued for a few minutes, then Mallet gave Marina a sweet kiss, and they called a truce. Meanwhile, Beth called Company and placed an order for a delivery, hoping Coop would bring it to her. After placing the order, she put on a black negligee, hopped into bed and waited for Coop. To her surprise, Buzz delivered her order. Beth was startled, and Buzz tried to run out. She begged him to stay and tried to explain, but Buzz said she didn't owe him any explanation. Beth wanted to tell Buzz about her affair, and revealed that she and Alan had grown apart. Buzz listened as long as he could before he had to run off. Before he left, he urged Beth to keep her affair secret from Alan at all costs. Later Coop showed up, and Beth began pulling away. He asked her if she were breaking up with him, but she couldn't answer. Beth said they needed to end it, because there was more to life than having fun. Coop said he understood, but he asked her to keep the room key in case she changed her mind.

Buzz headed back to Company, and he, Mallet and Frank laughed and joked while they prepared Thanksgiving dinner. After a few drinks, they began talking about love, and Mallet hopped up on the counter and screamed how much he loved Marina. Marina walked in just as he began his drunken speech about how they tried to elope but didn't go through with it. Marina was mortified, and Buzz and Frank looked confused. When Marina heard the fire alarm go off, she was glad that there was a distraction. After the men put the fire out, they all laughed it off. Mallet admitted he did plan to marry Marina; Frank was happy they wanted to tie the knot.
