Christina stopped by the farm for Olivia's fitness session. Christina probed Liv to open up to her about her personal life, including work and Emma. When Liv told her about Emma's "My Two Mommies" speech mix up, Christina admitted that she also thought Nat and Liv were a couple. Later, Olivia claimed she's happy about Natalia and Frank's budding romance.

At Company, Coop and Beth stopped by for lunch and ran into Nat and Frank. The encounter was a little awkward, but Coop was insistent that they should be open in public and pulled her into a kiss. Nat was stunned when she saw them together. Frank tried to distract her by planning their second date. Later, Nat was surprised by Frank's sweet chivalrous ways. He brought up how embarrassed he was when he kissed her before. Nat brushed it off, saying a kiss is just a kiss (hint, hint!) and that it doesn't mean anything. To show Frank she's really interested in him, however, she finally gave him a real kiss that counts. He grinned from ear to ear. On her way out of the restaurant, Nat crossed paths with Matt, who flirted and offered to help her around the farmhouse if she needs. She thanked him and left. Frank, having spied their encounter, warned Matt with a smile, "Don't even think about it!" Then he said that Nat's the first woman he's met in a long time who he can see himself sharing a future with.

In New York, Lizzie confronted Alan about him wanting to demolish Company without telling her beforehand. Alan gave her a lecture about sacrifices (including Roxy and Bill) and how moving forward helps to better one's life. Lizzie was wary about getting their family into trouble again and said she needed to think about whether she really wants to ruin the restaurant or not. Frustrated by her grandfather's stubbornness, Lizzie left to find Cyrus, who didn't make her feel any better about the Company situation by discussing business ethics with her. He assured her that whatever her decision, he's got her back. Meanwhile, Bill, still on his mission to find Phillip, discovered that his GPS got ruined when his backpack fell in the river. He trudged on through the woods anyway, exhausted and hungry. Then he had a hallucination about Lizzie, who urged him to give up and told him that they'll never be together — even if he does find Phillip.

Back at Company, Coop got a call from his publisher and was surprised to find out that Blake sent his private manuscript over without telling him and now it's being published as a book. When he told Beth that the novel is about a young writer who falls in love with a younger woman, she wasn't too happy and panicked, fearful that Alan would surely find out about their affair now. Coop was frustrated but agreed to stop the presses altogether if it makes Beth happy. After Beth read a few pages of the manuscript, she was touched by how Coop wrote their relationship but said she can't bring herself to read the ending because it can never happen––theirs won't be fairy tale romance. She tossed the manuscript in the garbage and told Coop once more that she's just not ready to come clean to Alan.

Natalia came home and expressed her appreciation for Frank. Liv teased her for being so cautious with the relationship and moving so slow. She advised Nat not to be afraid of falling in love. The women started talking about their own kiss and both agreed it didn't count. Meanwhile, Alan saw Emma's speech on her school's Web site. Miffed, he called Olivia to discuss what kind of environment his granddaughter Emma is living in, expressing his concern that the Spaulding reputation would be compromised by rumors about her two mommies. After, Liv informed Nat that she's afraid Alan will try to take Emma away from her again. Nat suggested Liv move out if she thinks it will be better for her child. Liv lost her cool and said she enjoys having a real family with Nat and won't sacrifice it for Alan.

Lizzie and Cyrus returned to Springfield. Lizzie stopped by Company for a burger that didn't look or taste like she remembered. Buzz said he's cutting back (due to the economy) and has been having problems with the grill. They commiserated about Coop and Beth. Lizzie also suggested to Buzz that he think about possibly retiring as a cook. After, she called Alan to tell him that she can't destroy Company, saying "some things you just have to hold onto." When she informed Cyrus about her decision, she told him that she's not Alan and that she actually has a heart. Then she pulled Cyrus in to a kiss and told him that she wants him.

Bill stumbled upon an old shack in the woods.... Coop and Beth canoodled in an empty Company. Beth told Coop that she loved him, but is completely stressed out by the prospect of telling Alan the truth. Coop urged her to do the right thing and they started making out and tearing off each other's clothes. Meanwhile, Alan arrived at the restaurant to meet Olivia and chat about Emma. When he saw the "Closed" sign on the door, he peered into the window and spied Beth and Coop getting it on.
