GL WEEK OF JUNE 22, 2009 RECAPS

In California, Ed told Phillip his terminal condition leaves him with only three months to live and implored him to seek help and tell someone — suggesting his oldest friend, Rick. Phil was shocked and said he's not ready to tell anyone. He left to think things through and then screamed in anguish, "Why?!" Later, Rick noticed something was bugging his bud, but Phil didn't disclose the truth. He decided to head back home.

Back in Springfield, Natasha threatened Cyrus demanding he find the diamonds (again). He confirmed that he knows who has them now. Meanwhile, Bill and Lizzie tried to figure out how to tell their mothers that they want control back in the wedding planning process. They agreed to ask each others' mothers to back off, so to speak. Bill approached Beth and Lillian and tried to sweet talk them. After, Bill and Lizzie divided planning responsibilities to help expedite everything. They went together to purchase the invites and later found themselves bickering over the details. Beth offered to help, but Lizzie refused.

Remy came clean with Christina about the diamonds. She persuaded him to get rid of them so he flushed them down the toilet. Later, Christina saw Mel at Cedars and admitted that she hasn't told Remy she's thinking about applying to medical school again. Meanwhile, Cyrus paid Remy a visit, with a surveillance photo of him handling the diamonds in tow. Cyrus demanded he hand over the jewels. Remy explained that he doesn't have them; Cyrus didn't buy his claim and said he could be killed if he doesn't get the diamonds back. So, Remy was forced to reveal that he flushed them down the toilet. Cyrus was livid. The duo then tried to fish them out, to no avail. They decided to go to the sewer plant to find them. "Crap," Remy sighed. Cyrus began stripping down to jump inside the septic tank; Remy reluctantly followed.

Rick called Beth with an update on the barbecue, saying he's going to host it this year with Michelle's help since she is going to come home. He brought up their nups at the barbecue last year and shared an awkward moment. Then, he called Mel to tell her the same thing. She reminded that they're divorced. Afterward, Beth and Mel laughed over the situation.

At Company, Buzz was rattled when he was given a package addressed to Coop. He hesitated to open it and thought it felt like something important was inside. Later, Buzz and Lillian visited Coop's grave for some perspective. Buzz decided he's just not ready to open the package. Meanwhile, Frank ran into Christina and inquired about Remy working on the diamond case; Natasha overheard.

After they got out of the tank, Remy and Cyrus were still half-naked and hosing each other off when a very confused Mel spied them. It was awkward and Mel invited both of them to the Bauer barbecue, flirting with Cyrus on her way out. "She's a beauty!" Cyrus said. Then Remy revealed that he'd found the diamonds but refused to hand them over to Cyrus.

Phil returned to Springfield and watched Lizzie happily discussing her wedding plans with Beth from afar. She spied him and they greeted each other. They shared a very bittersweet moment. "You'll always be my girl," Phil smiled after Lizzie asked him to walk her down the aisle.
