OLTL Recaps Week of January 29, 2007
Friday, February 2, 2007
A frustrated Nash tried to do repairs around the Buchanan home. Clint
interrupted him and the guys chatted. Clint admitted his confusion over his
feelings for Dorian and Viki. He then asked if Nash is developing feelings
for Jessica. "I suspect I have the same feelings for her that you have for
Viki," Nash replied. Clint pointed out that Viki is single while Jess is a
married woman. He suggested Nash be a "man of honor" and warned him not to
get himself hurt. Too bad Nash didn't heed his warning on a more literal
level: later, he returned to his repairs, when he slipped and knocked
himself unconscious. Oops! He then saw a vision of Tess. "I've got a bone to
pick with you, jerk!" she began.
Meanwhile, Jessica stopped her run (really, when does she have time to
exercise?) when she spied Marty sitting outside. Jess confided in Marty how
she and Nash kissed, and is feeling guilty. Jessica wondered if she should
tell Antonio the truth; Marty said she couldn't give her an answer, but that
marriages based on love and respect survive. Later, Jess went to the station
and overheard Antonio telling Talia how he and Jessica have trust in their
marriage.
At school, Starr and Cole snuck in a conversation while peeking at each other through the library stacks. Starr hoped that Spencer's demise would mean that their family's problems would go away and she and Cole could be together. Starr wished they could date like "normal" teens and go the movies
and ice skate. Cole promised he'd soon take her to do both. Right after he
left for class, the librarian asked Starr if she needed help. Starr quickly
grabbed a book and said she found what she was looking for. Turns out that
book she'd chosen was Romeo And Juliet.
John was anxious to return to work, but Natalie didn't think he was ready.
John told Bo that he wants to work on the investigation surrounding
Spencer's murder. Bo argued that he's too close to it, but John insisted.
Nat tried to stop him, but the guys asked her to leave. Alone, Bo asked John
if he knows someone he cares about is the killer. John replied that he takes
his job seriously and would never cover for someone. Bo still didn't want
him taking the case. Natalie returned and said that John had been with her
when Spencer was murdered. John quickly amended that she's lying.
At St. Anne's, Addie informed Antonio that Todd had come by to get Addie's
help in convincing Blair to marry him. Blair was annoyed with Todd for
bugging her mom, but Addie thought her daughter should reunite with Todd.
Blair instead dropped a bomb: she's taking the kids and moving out. Todd
couldn't understand this, but Blair explained that they're "deadly"
together. Later, Starr and Cole met in secret in the park ... where they
were caught by their moms.
A mystery man looked up information on Spencer online. After reading that
Truman was murdered, Mystery Man angrily threw his laptop across the room.
Um, Mystery Man must have gads of money that he could afford to do this!

At the diner, Marcie asked Nora how much evidence the police had against
Rex. Nora refused to divulge too much information, but Marcie concluded that
Rex was protecting someone. Nora pointed out that there were many suspects
with greater motives for killing Spencer. Marcie went ballistic when Nora
hinted that Michael could be a suspect, and reminded her how Michael had
saved Spencer when he could've let him die. Nora calmed her down and they
apologized to each other.
Meanwhile, Michael visited Rex in jail and asked what Balsom had been doing
in Spencer's hospital room. Rex assured Michael that the truth about Tommy
will stay a secret and was confident that the police didn't have enough
evidence to arrest him. "If the truth comes out, we both go down," Rex told
him. Michael promised to never betray his trust.
Evangeline stopped by John's to see how he was doing. He wondered if she
thought he killed Spencer. Evangeline said no, explaining that John would've
only have had to stab Truman once, rather than multiple times as the
murderer did. John admitted that Spencer's death wasn't as sweet as he
thought if would be. Vangie confessed her suspicions about Cristian being
the arsonist. John confided in her about his and Natalie's problems.
At the station, Natalie quizzed Talia to see how much evidence she found at
the crime scene. Talia was suspicious when Nat began asking about fibers.
Natalie managed to cover by reminding Talia that she's studying forensics,
and Spencer had close ties to her boyfriend and family. Later, a worried
Natalie went to see her brother. Michael insisted that Rex was innocent. Nat
agreed that Rex would never kill someone. After Michael left, she scolded
him for getting mixed up in it. Rex realized that she suspected John....
Marcie asked Michael why he'd lied to him about going to the hospital. He
said that it was a last-minute decision and abruptly left.
Nora asked Evangeline not to appear with Cristian in public until the arson
case is settled. Vangie was understandably furious and refused to do so.
Todd told Bo that he doesn't want an attorney; still, he refused to answer
Bo's questions. Bo pressed him for an alibi; Todd stated that he's thrilled
Truman is dead, but disappointed that he hadn't been the one to off him.
Todd then said he'd been visiting Addie, but Bo didn't believe him. Todd
again stated that he didn't kill Spencer, then left to take care of a
certain errand related to the paper.
Dorian was horrified when she caught Blair out of bed at the hospital. Blair
explained that she's getting restless. Dorian worried about her niece's
mental state, given all Blair's been through. Blair asked if Dorian was the
killer, but she insisted she wasn't. "I hope they get away with it ... even
if the killer turns out to be Todd," said Dorian. Blair asked Dorian to
leave when she began to hover just a little too much. Blair later got a call
about the cops coming to question Addie at St. Anne's.
At St. Anne's, Antonio looked through the visitors' log and didn't find
Todd's name on it. Todd arrived and said no one was there at the desk to
make him sign in. "Even a sister's gotta pee," is how he eloquently put it.
Soon, the police began to question Addie. Addie told Antonio that he's
handsome and complimented Talia's name. Blair then arrived, much to
everyone's surprise.
John went down to the station and told Bo he wants to work on the Truman
case.

Starr was upset when Todd stated that the damage Spencer did might never be
undone. Starr wished Truman had died the first time, when he'd fallen off
the roof. Blair began to panic over the idea of what Spencer might have done
to her while she was unconscious. Later, a sympathetic Talia came by to
gently question Blair. Blair explained that she doesn't remember much since
she'd been drugged, but that Spencer had tried to rape her. Thankfully, the
results from the rape kit came back negative.
Marcie informed Michael of Spencer's death. She was surprised when he
admitted that he already knew and admitted that she was a little perturbed
at the idea of knowing the murder victim. Michael didn't think Truman
deserved her sympathy and was pleased that he'd been killed. "I would die
for you two," he told her and Tommy. Marcie thought the murderer was Todd
and began putting together the "facts" that would make this so. "This isn't
one of your mystery novels!" Michael angrily snapped, urging her not to
discuss the crime. "Our son is never going to have to know him," he stated.
The couple then turned on the news and were shocked to learn Rex was a
suspect. Lindsay later came over and tried to cheer up Marcie.
At the station, Bo told Antonio that he doesn't think Rex killed Spencer,
but does think he's hiding something or is protecting someone. Antonio
wasn't so convinced of Balsom's innocence. Meanwhile, Adriana freaked out
when she found out that Rex was being kept in a holding cell for the time
being. She believed that he did know who the murderer is; he explained that
he'd gone to the hospital to find Todd, when he encountered a dead Truman.
"You had the murder weapon in your hand?" said a disbelieving Adriana. "My
timing was off," he cracked, to her annoyance. She urged him to tell Bo what
he knows, but he insisted that he didn't know anything. He assured her that
he's not going to be charged. After, Bo again questioned Rex. "What were you
doing at the hospital?" he asked. "I like the Jell-O," joked Balsom. Bo was
not amused. Rex argued that Spencer's killer probably hadn't had a choice.
Bo decided not to arrest him, but to keep Rex in a holding cell for as long
as possible.
Natalie and John tried to get to sleep, but couldn't. Nat admitted that she
couldn't stop thinking about Spencer's death. They made some small talk as
he asked Natalie to bring him a couple of items. She then demanded to know
what he'd been doing at the hospital. He replied that he went to see
Michael, but she didn't buy it. Nat then started going on about how he
trusts Marty, but not him. He was furious when he realized she'd
eavesdropped on his and Marty's conversation. John snapped that he has
plenty of reasons to not trust Nat. "There's nothing I wouldn't do to
protect you," Natalie said ominously.

Rex asked Bo if Bo thinks he's a killer. Bo advised him to keep his mouth
shut, explaining that Rex certainly looks guilty. He reamed out Rex for
picking up the weapon. Rex explained that he was doing some investigating
for Todd and just reacted out of shock when he picked up the scissors. Bo
pushed Rex to tell him the truth, but Balsom refused, pleading with Bo to
trust him. Bo noted that he needs the truth in order to help clear Rex.
Meanwhile, the cops came in and examined the crime scene. "Guess no one told
him not to play with scissors," joked one as she bagged the bloody weapon.
Natalie finessed her way onto the scene and found some fibers from John's
scarf. When no one was looking, she snatched the fibers.
Starr feared that Spencer raped Blair. As Cole went to comfort Starr, Marty
interrupted them. Marty was horrified that the teens found a body and
couldn't understand why they hadn't called the cops. Marty fretted that Cole
would get into even more trouble. Starr was furious when Marty suggested
that Todd was guilty of Spencer's murder.... As soon as Blair awakened,
Antonio was ready to question her. He informed her of Truman's death. Todd
was furious when he found Antonio with Blair and didn't hide his glee over
Truman's demise.... Starr told Todd that she thinks Rex is the murderer.
At the hotel, Marcie was awakened by a teething Tommy's crying and was
surprised that Michael missing. She went to Roxy for help, though Roxy's
idea of "help" was to offer her whiskey "You put a little
on his gums and then drink some yourself," she explained, as Marcie stood by
open-mouthed. "It's homeo-pathetic," said Roxy. Marcie wondered if Roxy had seen
Michael leave. Roxy replied that she hadn't, despite making frequent trips
to the ladies' room. Michael soon returned home and Roxy scolded him for not
leaving Marcie a note.... Alone, Michael and John tried to rejoice over
Spencer's death, but admitted that it didn't feel as good as they thought it
would. Later, Michael came home to a worried Marcie, while Natalie went to
see John. Privately, she checked to see if the fibers matched his scarf and
was aghast to see that they did. "Oh, my God, John, what have you done?" she
whispered to herself.

Bo arrived at the scene of Spencer's lawyer's corpse to question Starr and Cole. Insisting that the kids stay with the police detective (and the body), he took off in search of Spencer. Meanwhile, Adriana waited for a tardy Rex at Capricorn. Bo and Antonio stalked the hospital halls and found Rex standing over Truman's body with the bloody scissors in his hand.
At Capricorn, Cristian and Evangeline came upon a surprise dinner guest: Vincent, who asked Cristian to hear him out regarding the fire investigation. Layla wasn't pleased to see that Vincent had changed the reservation to include himself. Vincent explained that from what Natalie's told him about Cris, he's not the type to commit arson. Now, they just need something concrete to back up what Natalie said, Vincent told the couple.
Bonding over a nightcap at Llanfair after Asa and Renee's anniversary party, Viki and Clint discussed what's been going on with Jessica, particularly Nash. Viki commented that Jess's understanding of Tess's feelings for Nash could be a problem, and revealed that Jess is afraid of losing control with Nash. Clint expressed his own reservations about Nash, and said he's baffled that Antonio continues to buddy up to Bree's daddy. Their exchange turned into a tiff as Clint called Viki out on her tendency to bottle up her feelings. Clint pointed out that it's been a long time since Viki asked him over for a drink. Viki smirked when she realized that this is really about her ignoring Clint, and said she can't be with Clint as long he's involved with Dorian. Clint swore that he's not with Dorian, no matter what she says, and requested one little date with his ex-wife, which seemed to have more weight with Viki.
Meanwhile, Jessica came home (without Antonio) to find Nash sleeping on the couch, and indulged in a little fantasy involving the two of them spooning and kissing on the couch. When she snapped out of it, she playfully scolded Nash for falling asleep while babysitting Bree. They enjoyed some nostalgic stargazing on the balcony, and Nash reminded her how hard it is for him not to grab and kiss her. Nash grudgingly left for Capricorn to have a drink with Layla.
Surrounded by Bo, Antonio, Cole and Starr — who was horrified to see her drugged mom covered in blood and dressed in a wedding gown — Rex declared Spencer "dead as a doornail." Antonio found a vial of Diazepam in the pool of blood next to Spencer's body. Bo escorted Rex out of the room and told him not to go anywhere. Meanwhile, Paige revealed that Blair was given two doses of Diazepam, which could have compromised her weak heart, and ordered an EKG. Bo asked Paige how she's doing. "I'm fine. He deserved it," she responded, looking down at Spencer's corpse. Antonio determined that Truman had been stabbed in the stomach as well as the shoulder. Bo told Antonio it'd take an arena to round up all the people who wanted Spencer dead.
As Michael tried to nervously sneak out of the hospital, he tripped over a passed-out John on the floor. When Michael woke up his brother, John said he didn't know what he was doing there. "I have to take care of Truman," he said. Michael attempted to get a groggy John out of the hospital, and told his bro not to mention Spencer's name anymore. "We're done with him," he stated.
Paige assured Starr that Blair's vitals were getting stronger. Again, Paige admitted to Bo that she doesn't feel anything now that Spencer's dead. Poor Blair continued to lie in the room with Truman's body while the police checked out the crime scene. Bo instructed Antonio to question Blair when she wakes up. Still being detained by the cops, Rex was approached by Starr, who thanked him for what he did. Blair was finally moved to another room, and Starr followed, leaving a confused Rex in Bo's hands. Bo advised Rex to get his attorney pronto. "You think I did this?" Rex balked.
On their way out of the hospital, the bumbling McBains were spotted by Natalie. "Oh, crap," whispered Michael.
