OLTL Recaps Week of May 7, 2007

Miles showed up at Marty's door with flowers and chicken soup because she was home from work. Marty admitted that she wasn't ill, but that she wasn't doing so well emotionally. Miles informed her that he was on his way to a date. John was toying with the cassette tape when Bo brought in a letter from the hate group. Bo asked about the tape, and cracked that in a perfect world, Todd Manning probably wouldn't come back. Rex continued to press Paula about why she divorced Tate. "Do you wanna tell him or shall I?" Paula asked Tate. Michael delivered the good news that Bree's test results were negative, but Antonio wanted to know if the doc had any good news about Jessica.

Michael explained to Jessica and her family that the doctors needed a biopsy of her liver before they could determine how much damage the hepatitis C virus (HCV) had done. Once alone with her mother, Jessica started to berate herself up for contracting HCV. Michael brought in Dr. Strichtner to perform the biopsy. "Let's see how bad this really is," Jess told them.

Miles said he wasn't going on a date with anyone Marty knew. Marty advised him to show the cops the letter from Spencer because it might help their investigation. Miles assured her that he was no longer protecting Spencer, who wasn't the man Miles first thought he was. Miles told Marty to take care of herself and get some rest, then left for his date. He wore a secret smile as he walked down the hall.

As John and Bo discussed Todd's disappearance, Miles burst in and presented them with the letter from Spencer. Bo read the letter aloud, not really giving the Spencer impersonation his all. 70860707 was the code in the letter. Bo thanked Miles, who wanted the letter back once they were through with it and claimed that he didn't have any other letters from Spencer. Bo wanted John to have the handwriting analyzed to make sure it was really written by Truman.

Tate relayed to Rex and Adriana that he and Paula married young, didn't know each other well and were never really in love. Rex wasn't satisfied. When Paula said Tate married her under false pretenses, Tate explained that he didn't know what it was going to be like in the majors and that with all the girls hanging around the locker room, he was "like a kid in a candy store." When Paula found out he was cheating on her, she contacted her lawyer. Paula threatened an unrelenting Rex with harassment if he ever approaches her again. Rex offered to do whatever it takes to earn Adriana's forgiveness, even retracting his assertion.

Talia advised Antonio to keep his cool and make peace with what happened when he suggested looking for the junkie who infected Jessica. Looking for someone to blame is not going to fix things, Talia said. Antonio approached Nash and thanked him for saving Tess, remarking that she survived because she met Nash and not another heroin user. Antonio then suggested they lay some ground rules and he wasn't talking about Bree. Their "discussion" was interrupted by Talia, who came to tell Antonio that Jessica was done with the biopsy. She warned Nash that she had Antonio's back. As Jessica slept off the anesthesia, she dreamed about Nash and mistakenly told Antonio that she loved him when she opened her eyes to find him squeezing her hand.

Miles met Jordan and offered to pay her for her advice, but she insisted that she wasn't a whore. He explained that he lied to someone and he wasn't sure how he felt about it. When Jordan left, Miles said aloud that Marty wasn't the only one he'd lied to that day. He pulled out a letter that began, "My dear Miles." Meanwhile, Marty visited John at the station, and he advised her to be wary of Miles, calling him a "lurker." Miles has issues, but he's harmless, she swore.

Natalie took Bree to the park and talked about how nice it would be to have a baby of her own. She described her child, "Johnny," as having dark hair and blue eyes, but lamented that he'd never exist. Bo showed up at the diner, and Rex asked for his help. Antonio left Jessica for the night, and Nash waved good-bye to her from the door. Adriana and Tate went for a walk in the park, and she explained that when she first met Rex, he had trouble trusting people, even himself. She assured herself that Rex was probably trying to figure out how to do the right thing, while Rex told Bo he thought there was still something in Tate's past that was fishy. Bo advised him to follow his instincts, which Rex interpreted to mean "keep digging." Miles finished reading a letter signed, "Your one true friend, Spencer." When Marty went to look for John again, she came across Spencer's murder file laying out on the desk and shuddered.

What did Paula say she found in Tate's bed?

John and Bo tried to control the media situation outside the high school in the wake of Henry's accident. Langston coveted Starr's coffee — neither of them had slept much the night before. Langston pointed out that Henry's bike was still outside, and the girls shared a teary hug. Still upset about the Ultraviolet snafu, Adriana woke up Rex, who'd slept on her couch uninvited, and told him to get out. Nash thanked Roxy for letting him and Bree crash at the Angel Square Hotel so they could be close to the hospital. Clint arrived at Jessica's hospital room.

Marty came to the school to offer grief counseling to the students. Bo pointed out that she's not necessarily a disinterested party. Bo informed Marty that Blair had taken off for Chicago again and Dorian would be guarding Starr. Cole asked Britney how she was doing. Not so great, considering everyone thinks she's responsible for the wreck, she replied. Britney said she had no idea Henry was going to snap like he did. Cole told her to get real and walked away. Bo approached Britney and asked how she was doing. She lamented to the Commish that she used to be the popular girl, but it looked like that would all change. Meanwhile, hepcat Dorian arrived and told Starr and Langston that she was there to look out for her niece and her "BFF," then had a little tiff with Britney's dad. In the gym, Marcie apologized to the students for not paying better attention to Henry’s situation and Marty assured everyone that no one was at fault. Cole pulled Starr aside and told her he'd been thinking about her a lot since the accident. Langston admitted to Marcie that she knew Henry was headed for trouble and feels guilty for not speaking up.

Antonio confided in Carlotta at the diner. She advised him to be patient and have no fear where Jessica is concerned. At the counter, Tate was reading the newspaper in disguise when someone pulled off his hat. "Thank God you're here," Tate said as he faced the unseen figure.

At the hospital, Natalie offered to be her mom's confidante. Viki was visibly upset, and Natalie assured her it was okay to be scared. Viki blamed herself for not breaking the "hellish cycle" that led Jessica down this road. Even though Tess isn't coming back, the damage is done, Viki declared.

Adriana continued to chastise Rex for his behavior when she received a call from Tate asking her to meet him. Rex and Adriana headed down to the diner. Tate informed them that Rex's stunt had put Tate's job at the TV station in jeopardy. He then introduced them to his ex-wife, Paula, who was there to set the record "straight." She even offered to sign a statement swearing her ex isn't gay if it would help save his job. Adriana tried to persuade Rex to give a retraction, but Rex still wanted to know one thing: If he's not gay, why did Tate get divorced?

Clint tried to cheer Jessica up by mentioning all the fun things they'd do together when she was well. Jessica said she had something to tell her parents regarding her virus. Clint said she didn't have to tell them anything, but she insisted that her mind was made up. She wanted to come clean to her parents, and requested that Nash be present as well.

Roxy read the tabloid headlines aloud to Nash and Marcie. The papers were all abuzz with Tate’s "outing." Roxy watched Marcie with Bree and recalled how she used to put Natalie in her backpack and take her to the casino. Clint called Nash, who had trouble getting a word in as a chatty Bree grabbed at the phone and babbled. Jessica told Nash she needed to see him and, in a veiled way, told him she loved him.

Jessica's entire family was present as she prepared to make a confession. When Antonio asked what she was waiting for, everyone turned around to see Nash enter with Bree. Jessica explained that Nash was just as much a part of the family as Bree. They all appeared concerned as Jessica confessed that Tess had used heroin. She recounted a former lover wrapping his belt around his arm and shooting up. She said Tess was shocked at first, but then quickly became intrigued because it "looked so good." She recalled loving it, but claimed it was the only time she shot up because she knew she could get hooked. Michael interrupted the confession with news about Bree's future.

"Son of a bitch," Tate muttered as Rex tried to out him on TV. Rex continued to play along, making another plea for Tate to get on down to Ultraviolet, because "the closet’s for mothballs, not men!" Starr asked her mom if Todd ran away, and John raised his eyebrows as Starr suggested that Todd just wanted to get away from Blair. Meanwhile, Nash told Jessica that she needed to fight with him by her side, despite her family's objections. Cristian was surprised to hear that Antonio let Nash in to see Jessica.

The TV reporter asked Rex if Tate had given the go-ahead to expose him like that and if that's why he was throwing the fundraiser. Rex insisted that Adriana is his girlfriend and the Tate thing is just a cover, then told the reporter off-camera that Tate likes a public spectacle, so he gave him one. Layla called Adriana and asked why Rex would do this. They agreed to meet at UV. Back at the TV studio, Tate threw down his microphone and stormed off set.

Blair shared what details she knew about Todd's disappearance in an effort to make her daughter believe that Todd hadn't just run out on them. A guilty Miles looked on and asked if Blair needed his help. Blair reamed him out for giving Todd the faulty code, accusing him of knowing something bad would happen. John advised her to stop berating Miles since there was no proof that he had anything to do with Todd's disappearance. John asked Miles if he gave Todd the address of the tenement, but Miles claimed to have nothing to do with it. Starr fell into Cole's arms as she cried, "Not again!" when her mother confirmed that the blood found in the tenement was Todd's. Marty told Blair not to blame anything on Miles, so Blair told Marty to stay out of it. Langston got emotional as she told Starr how happy she was that her friend had survived. The girls prepared to leave the gym with Blair, who advised them not to comment to the press. Miles was disappointed when Marty and Cole caught a ride with John.

Roxy questioned Rex's actions when Tate suddenly showed up — receiving a big reaction from the crowd — then shoved Rex's face up against the glass door. Adriana and Layla were furious with Rex for his stunt, but Rex said he thought all press was good press, at least that's what Tate told him. Rex admitted that he'd spoken with Tate's ex-wife, Paula, who told her that they divorced on the grounds of fraud. Adriana seemed upset that Tate had never mentioned being married. Tate explained that he married Paula when he was young and was never really in love with her. He avoided her question of what "fraud" really meant. Adriana and Layla told Rex that he'd turned their ad campaign into a joke by making Tate appear less macho. "A man can be gay and macho," argued Rex.

Cristian tried to convince Antonio that he made a mistake by letting Nash see Jessica because Nash would only push Jess into saying she loves him. "How do you know that?" Antonio asked his brother. Meanwhile, Nash offered to do all of Jessica's worrying for her and told her she didn't need to tell anyone how she got hepatitis C, not even him! Jessica asked him to not be phony, saying she was tried of everyone coming in saying she was going to be okay. Nash asked Jessica if she wanted Antonio to remain a part of Bree's life if something happens to her.

Antonio explained to Cristian that Jessica was no longer the person she fell in love with, but that he still loves her and hopes they can figure things out. The whole heroin thing is like Tess coming back to haunt him, Antonio noted. Nash came out to tell Antonio that Jess wanted to see him. Jessica told Antonio that Bree would need both her dads if anything happened to Jessica or if Bree was sick. "We will get through this together," Antonio promised her.

At home, Blair and Starr crawled into bed and comforted each other. Marty told Cole that his father would have been proud of him. Cole admitted to thinking about Patrick the whole time they were in the car with Henry, wondering how he would have handled the situation. John admitted to feeling that way about his father sometimes, too.

Rex rushed after Adriana to explain that Tate was trying to con her and he was just trying to protect his girlfriend. Adriana didn't see it that way, stating that Tate's sexuality is his own business. Meanwhile, Tate wrung his hands back at the studio and fumed over a headline on the Internet about his accidental coming out. Langston grabbed her book from the auditorium and looked around, clearly recalling the events that had preceded Henry's accident. Blair and Starr held each other, with no Jack in sight. John shook Cole's hand good-bye, and Cole leaned in for an awkward hug, which Marty witnessed. Antonio looked heavenward as Jessica rested, then peeked at Nash, who breathed on the window and drew a heart with his finger.

Natalie comforted Jessica as she blamed herself for her situation and how it might have affected Bree. Nash turned around to face Antonio and explained that he was praying for Jessica. Antonio broke the news that Jess has hepatitis C. Rex thanked someone on his cell phone for doing something on short notice, then covered to Adriana that he was talking to the manager at Ultraviolet and had a certain surprise planned for tonight. Blair and Marty pointed fingers for their kids' crisis when John received word that there'd been a car accident. Back at school, Bo greeted Starr, Cole and Britney, who had survived the accident. Britney cried as she touched one of the earrings, and Marcie and Langston were relieved to see that everyone was Okay. "Where's Henry?" cried Starr, and Bo explained that Henry wasn't wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car and didn't survive.

Adriana asked Rex what her surprise was, but he refused to give her any clues. "I want you to be blown away," he told her as she headed to the ladies' room. "Not as blown away as Tate's gonna be," he then mused to himself. When Adriana returned, she confessed that she called the UV hostess, who told her all about the surprise. She was impressed that Rex had planned an AIDS fundraiser, "outing himself as a humanitarian." Rex told Adriana he was going to take her home and teach her a lesson for her naughty behavior!

Marcie and the teens lamented that it was unfair that Henry didn't survive and that he was a good kid and didn't deserve this. Blair and Marty arrived to comfort their children. Blair wanted to know why this happened. Marcie asked why Henry would steal a car and why everyone got in it with him. Everyone looked at Britney, who claimed to be a victim and not at fault. Cole told the cops that Henry had been taking Dexamphetamines and started to have severe chest pains when he was driving. John explained that the drug causes hallucinations and panic attacks and is "not something to mess around with." John said it sounded like Henry had a heart attack brought on by a drug overdose. Marcie chastised Britney for making Henry do her schoolwork for her. Starr tried to make Marty and Blair realize that Cole was a hero in this situation. Marty looked on as John comforted Cole, and Starr approached Britney to warn her that she planned to let the whole school know just how responsible she was for Henry's demise.

Antonio explained to Nash that hep C attacks the liver and could be fatal, depending on how far along it is. Is it transmitted via sex? Nash asked, but Antonio said it traveled only through the blood. Nash insisted that he never shot heroin or shared any needles with Jess and he didn't know if she ever did. Antonio then pointed out that Jessica's not the only one they should be worried about — Bree would have to tested, too, and Viki was taking care of it. Antonio argued that Jessica is his wife and Nash doesn't deserve to know anything about her condition, but Nash pleaded to be allowed to see her. Antonio agreed on the terms that Nash not upset her. Natalie found Antonio and told him she hoped he knew what he was doing by letting Nash see Jessica.

Natalie stroked Jessica's hair as she recalled making out with the slimy guy in a bathroom stall. Michael came in and told her to fight. Jessica berated herself for putting her daughter in danger. Nash arrived at Jessica's bedside and they shared a tender moment. A disheveled Antonio instructed a random medic to do whatever it takes to make Jessica better.

Rex was displeased to find Tate at Adriana's apartment, but gloated as he told the sudden newscaster that his station was doing a news piece on the fundraiser. "It would be just ducky if you could join us," Rex cracked to Tate, then made a few innuendos before taking off, suggesting that he must have left his jacket in the CLOSET. At Ultraviolet, Roxy marveled at all the buff, gay attendees, and was shocked when Rex intimated that Tate is gay, too. Later on, Tate's news report ended with a live segment on the UV party and Rex saying he wanted to use the club for good, not evil. The camera panned to a few guys dancing ELBOWS UP! and asked if baseball legend Tate Harmon would be interested in joining the other gay celebrities there.

Miles arrived at the high school auditorium to offer Marty his support, while John and Bo discussed Todd's disappearance and the audiotape. They both looked in Miles's direction. Starr asked her mom if Todd knew about the accident. Britney's bitchy mom showed up and complained about how long it took to get into the school, even though Miles seemed to have no problem. Blair broke down and informed Starr that her father is missing.

Nash asked God to make Jessica well, while Michael explained what was going on with Jessica to Viki and Natalie. Miles told Marty he thinks he knows what happened to Todd. In Chicago, Detective Morris brought John a garbage bag from the crack den. Amber came running into the gymnasium and ran into Marcie, blubbering that Henry stole the drivers' ed car and sped off with Britney in the passenger's seat. Meanwhile, Cole and Starr were also in the car, and pleaded with Henry to turn the car around. Britney whispered something into Henry's ear that distracted him and made him slam on the brakes.

Michael explained to Viki that the hepatitis C virus (HCV) could have been dormant for an extended period of time and asked if Jess had ever worked anywhere where she might have been exposed to the virus. The most common way to get it is through sharing needles with someone who has it, the doc explained. "Needles? Like HEROIN!?" Viki balked.

Marty said she was sure there was a reasonable explanation for Todd's disappearance, and even though she's had her past with Todd, she genuinely hopes he's alive. Miles headed out to talk to the police commissioner.

Blair and John got on their rubber gloves and started rummaging through the bag for anything that would have a partial print. John pocketed a broken cassette tape. Dorian wanted Blair to return to Llanview with her, but Blair was afraid of worrying the kids by coming back without their father. Blair changed her mind when she received a call from a panicky Marcie about Starr and the drivers' ed car.

Over lunch at the police station, Bo suggested a weekend away with Paige and Matthew. Paige pointed out that the next weekend is Mother's Day and she feels weird considering she'd lost Hugh before she ever got to spend the holiday with him. Instead, she planned to go to California to visit Hugh's grave with his adoptive mother. Paige talked about she'd prayed for Hugh so many times before she met him, praying that she did the right thing by keeping him away from Spencer. Bo thought it was great that Paige wanted to visit Hugh's grave, but reminded her that Llanview (and Bo's house) is her home. He gave her a passionate kiss good-bye, then received a call from John before Miles could have a word with him. Miles thought back to the letter from Spencer, while Detective Morris told an inquisitive cop, "The longer he's missing the more likely that he's dead," referring to Todd.

Britney tried to calm down Henry after he sped through a stop sign, saying she never realized how much he cared about her. Henry went through another stop sign as Britney lied through her teeth about liking the earrings that he gave her. Starr told Henry not to believe one word out of Britney's mouth and yelled for him to keep both hands on the wheel as he reached in his pocket for the earrings. Britney modeled the earrings, while Cole found a pill that Henry took. Blair called Starr, but Henry instructed everyone to throw their cell phones out the window before Starr could tell her mom what was going on. Henry admitted that it had been two weeks since he'd slept and had been popping the pills like candy. Cole tried to relate to Henry by talking about how using steroids affected him, but Henry didn't feel that Cole's life was as bad as his. Suddenly, Henry complained of sharp chest pains.

Viki went into Jessica's hotel room to tell her about the HCV. Michael explained that drug therapy would help treat the virus, but that they'd need a biopsy of her liver. Michael asked her to remember what caused the virus, and she worried that she might have passed it on to her daughter. Once alone with Michael, Jessica candidly asked him if she was going to die. Outside, Viki told Natalie and Antonio that no matter how they felt about it, someone would have to tell Nash. Viki ran off to call Clint. Meanwhile, Paige walked in on Nash telling God that he'd leave Jessica alone if it meant she'd recover. "I don't think it works that way," the doc interjected. "Are you really willing to make that sacrifice?" She advised him against making promises to God that he can't keep.

Blair, John and Dorian got on the first plane out of Chicago so that Blair could see Starr. John said he'd try to have the tape fixed to see if there was anything on it that could give them answers about Todd.

Antonio visited Jessica, who apologized for putting him through so much. The nurse informed them that Jessica needed to remove her jewelry before the surgery and handed Antonio her wedding ring. Then Natalie came in and talked to a sleeping Jessica, asking her sister how she could have gotten mixed up with someone using heroin. Jessica awoke from remembering an encounter with a slimy-looking guy as Tess, and told Natalie to believe it. Meanwhile, Nash asked God not to punish Jessica for loving him, then turned around to see Antonio standing in the doorway.

Henry kept driving despite the pain, and threatened to drive the car to the end of the world. Britney pleaded with him to pull over, and it became more and more apparent that the side effects of the pill were causing Henry major problems. Cole offered to drive, but Henry wouldn't let him. "We're going to do it my way or no way at all," Henry threatened. His chest pains got worse as he lost control of the car and everyone screamed.
