OLTL Recaps Week of May 21, 2007
Friday, May 25, 2007
Blair found an upset Starr in the kitchen, still reeling from the fact that Cole and Britney are going on a date. She asked Blair why she came back, and Blair answered that she thought Starr could use a friend. Meanwhile, Cole called Britney from the diner, but was thinking of Starr and their last kiss. Miles overheard Marty tell her therapist she thought she'd done something terrible and she needed to see someone right away. John and Cristian pondered the symbol painted on Cristian's canvas, while Antonio showed up at the police station and informed Talia that he and Jess were through and it was time to get back to work. Viki called Kevin from the hospital and broke down in tears, asking him to pray for Jessica and thank Kelly for getting tested. Jessica surprised Viki by taking a trip out of her hospital room; Viki was quick to blame Nash for compromising Jessica's health.
John took a photo with his camera phone of the symbol and commented that it was similar to the one on the medallion. John had a hunch that the arsonist was too arrogant to think he'd get caught, which to John, meant they've got him right where they want him. They brought the painting to a specialist named Jeeter who would run the symbol through an FBI database. Cristian and John discussed what happened to Evangeline and John noted that she is one of the best people he's ever known.
Talia was surprised to hear Antonio's announcement. He wanted to gloss over it and jump straight into work. Talia advised him that might not be the best way to handle the situation. When he wouldn't listen, she threatened to tell Bo that she didn't want to work with Antonio anymore. Talia offered Antonio a personal story: When she worked in New York, after 9/11 she went back to work but was distracted and a partner took a bullet for her. Antonio agreed to go home and be with his daughter.
In the lounge, Viki admitted that she'd learned about Jessica and Nash from Clint. Jessica assured her mother that she was doing the right thing by being with Nash, who added that he never meant to hurt anyone and that he just couldn't keep himself from loving Jess. Hand-in-hand, they relayed their story to Viki, who said even though she doesn't judge Jessica, she was furious to hear that she'd left her husband at a time like this. Jessica explained that she realized she'd rushed into marriage after the integration and made her mother see that it was impossible for her to live a lie. They sat down to look at the list of more than 100 people who'd been tested as potential donors, and Viki said the results would be back in a few days. After much protesting, Viki agreed to get Jessica an egg-white omelette, while Nash wheeled Jess out onto the terrace.
Blair sensed that something was up with Starr, who clearly didn't want to talk about it. As Blair continued to pry, Starr blew up at her mother, screaming, "I just really don't want to talk about it, OKAY?" Blair pulled her daughter in for a hug. Starr admitted to being concerned that Todd is dead, then finally 'fessed up that she was freaking out over Cole and Britney going out. Blair assured her that Britney's just a rebound, but was failing to come up with the words to comfort Starr, who kept pushing Blair to talk about why she and Todd are apart. Starr tried to tell her mom that Blair and Todd are soul mates, but Blair said she was too young to be talking about soul mates. Starr wanted to know if Blair thought Todd was the reason she lost the baby, but Blair said she couldn't be with Todd for a lot of reasons.
Marty saw Cole at the diner and when she learned that he was going on a date with Britney, she was furious, accusing him of going from a bad situation (Starr) to a worse one! Cole explained that he was taking out Britney because it was her birthday. Marty told Cole he was a good kid for giving Britney the benefit of the doubt ... and trying to get over Starr. Naturally, Miles stood at the door watching them as Marty told Cole that his father would always be the love of her life. Marty advised her son to keep his eyes open and make sure the new-and-improved Britney is for real, then hugged him good-bye. Once Marty was out of sight, Miles went into the diner. Britney soon followed, all dressed up for her date, and gave Cole a baseball glove.
Cole was distracted as Britney talked about which movies she'd like to see. They agreed to see a flick about a self-centered girl who drives her car over her future boyfriend. Blair suggested seeing the same boy-meets-girl-and-her-car flick to Starr. Cristian returned to his studio and angrily trashed one of the wrecked paintings, stating, "You son of a bitch. You better hope John McBain gets to you before I do." Nash and Jessica enjoyed the sunset, and Nash assured her there'd be many more to come. Miles made a call from the diner and asked someone to meet him right away. Marty went to John's office and started to hyperventilate when she saw Spencer's crime-scene photos, which are continually out on John's desk. John caught her as she ran out.

Marty assured her son that she was fine after her carjacking even though she stayed home from work. Cole wanted to honor his father's tradition by suggesting that he and Marty buy plants for their window boxes. In the gymnasium, Marcie complained of a general lack of male help, while Langston approached Markko about the school musical again. Dorian urged Rex to back off Tate or risk losing Adriana. Kirk read The Banner, commenting, "Nothing but bad news," then remarked to his son that at least the papers weren't calling him a "queer" anymore. Tate corrected him, noting that the term is "gay." Kirk handed his son an ad in the paper and said, "I think I found your way out." At Cristian's disheveled studio, he lamented to Lindsay that he'd brought Evangeline to the studio to show her his new painting, and if he hadn't done that, she never would have gotten hurt. He added that Antonio didn't want anything to do with him, then wondered, "How am I supposed to start over?"
Talia and John discussed the hate crimes case, and she asked him to impart some wisdom from his days as a fed. He said he learned to follow his instincts, and suggested that everyone's connected to the case in some way and they just keep turning over every rock until they find the hate group.
Rex told Dorian he was sure Tate was working some kind of angle and that all he cared about was protecting Adriana. Meanwhile, the ad Kirk was referring to was for a potential donor for Jessica. Kirk suggested Tate get tested to clear his name, but Tate agreed to do it only because it was the right thing to do. They headed to the hospital, where Adriana was also being tested as a living donor. Adriana introduced Clint and Viki to Kirk, who brought up what Rex did to slander Tate and said he wouldn't want to run into him in a dark alley or — "I'm Rex Balsom, "I'm Rex interrupted from behind. He offered an apology for hurting Tate and they reluctantly shook hands. Adriana piped in that Tate had offered to be tested. Dorian was introduced to Kirk, who remarked that he now knows where Adriana get her good looks. When Talia came by to get tested and said everyone misses Antonio at the station, but that she understood he needed to be with Jessica, Viki and Clint realized that no one knows about Jessica and Antonio's separation ... and that Antonio might be MIA. Clint pointed out that it's never easy when the person you love falls in love with someone else and looked at Viki.
Lindsay told Cristian to stop beating himself up over what happened to Evangeline. He explained to Lindsay that Antonio was mad at him for keeping a secret that affected his life. She advised him to give Antonio some space and focus on his art.
Marty took a nap on the couch and was violently awakened by a vision of scissors on an operating table. She suddenly heard knocking at the door; it was Miles coming by to check up on her. He asked if she was dreaming about the carjacking, and he apologized for not being there when she needed him. When she wouldn't tell him what her nightmare was about, he asked, "Why don't you trust me?" Marty didn't seem pleased with his prying and assured him that she was fine.
Langston accused Markko of being chicken because he wouldn't audition for the school musical, while the dance coach remarked that Markko "looks like he can move." The dance coach coerced Cole and Starr into practicing a cha-cha. Langston pointed out to Markko that an athlete was dancing in front of everyone and no one was calling him names. The cha-cha was more like a slow dance, but the dance coach and Marcie were thrilled with their moves. Rehearsal took a recess, and Cole followed an upset Britney outside, where she admitted that her parents forgot her birthday. Just as Cole offered to celebrate with her, Starr overheard and stormed out after Cole tried to explain. Langston brought Markko over to the teachers and said he was ready to audition. He warned them that they might not like his moves, then did some Justin Timberlake-style dancing. Marcie told Markko he had the lead part.
At the police station, Marty was having trouble concentrating as she looked through the suspect binder. John reiterated that he doesn't trust Miles, but Marty insisted that Miles was harmless. When John left her alone with the book, Marty sat back and shook her hand, asking out loud, "What is wrong with me?" Miles lurked nearby and eavesdropped as she called a therapist.
Talia asked Rex why he acted the way he did with Tate. Dorian tried to play matchmaker and volunteered Kirk to help out Viki with her charity work, pointing out that he is a widower. He gave her his number, but Viki didn't seem too jazzed. Adriana thanked Rex for not freaking out when Dorian invited Tate to breakfast. Rex agreed to keep his promise, then made a suspicious phone call. John helped Cristian clean up the loft, and Cris noticed something painted on his canvas that he didn't paint. "Looks like we finally caught a break," John declared.

Back from Chicago, Blair complained to John about how no one at the Chicago PD wanted to help her. When Miles showed up, John and Blair wanted Miles to stay and discuss Todd's disappearance, but Miles clearly wanted to be somewhere else. Meanwhile, Marty's car ran out of gas and a voice from the dark asked if she needed help. At Asa's mansion, Nigel told Viki that Clint wasn't home, but it was Asa she was there to see. Clad in head-to-toe black satin, Dorian drew a bath for Clint. Jessica and Nash cuddled in her hospital room as she recalled how difficult it was for her to break Antonio's heart. Meanwhile, Antonio gave Cristian the 411 on his wife's infidelity and noted that his brother didn't look too surprised. "I know," said Cris.
Jessica asked Nash if it was horrible when Antonio confronted him. He thought back to Antonio hurling him onto the table, then answered, "No.... I'm dealing with it." As terrible as she felt for hurting Antonio, she said it was worth it to be able to spend the rest of her life with the man she loves, even if it's for a few days. Nash painted a sticky picture of Jessica and Bree stomping grapes at the vineyard when Jess recovers.
Antonio was furious when Cristian admitted that he knew Jessica had kissed Nash months ago. Antonio accused Cristian of aiding Jessica and Nash in making a fool of him and said things are completely different between them — they are no longer brothers. "I'm a Santi," he spat, reminding Cristian that they're technically cousins.
Miles lied to John that he had a meeting with an investment group when John asked where Miles had to be. John pointed out that Miles seemed a little nervous and that he has a recording he'd like him to listen to. Blair told Miles he'd be sorry if something proved that he was part of Todd's disappearance. They played the tape and Miles gave them food for thought when he guessed it was from the site of Todd's disappearance. Miles bolted, and John noted that he was way too eager to get to an "investment meeting." Blair wanted to go with John to follow Miles, but he told her to get home to her kids.
A group of thugs followed the guy who offered to help Marty and demanded that she get out of her car. Marty reached for her Mace as she got out of the car. One guy held her back, while another thug called her "sweetcakes." The lead thug advised his minions to "stick to the plan." As he approached Marty, she gave him and the other two guys a swift elbow jab and kick in the shins and they fled the scene. Miles came running to her rescue, but John stole his thunder by showing up right behind him. Marty explained what had just happened, then John walked up to Miles and said, "And you just happened to be driving by as this happens?" Miles seemed awfully upset that John had held him up for so long at the police station because he wasn't able to help Marty when she needed it. Miles handed his cell phone to John and offered to let him check out his story. Miles insisted on giving Marty a ride, but John wanted her to give a description of the thugs at the police station. Once John and Marty were out of earshot, Miles slammed his hand against Marty's car.
Nigel informed Viki that Asa didn't yet know of Jessica's illness, considering his own condition. She lamented that the hospital won't let her be a donor for Jessica because of her own health history. Nigel suggested that she needs more than a donor and that the best Viki can do is offer her support.
Dorian told Clint that he didn't need to explain for not wanting to stay. Clint shook his head over the situation with Nash, saying the last thing Jess needs is more stress. Clint wanted to blame someone for Jess's predicament. Dorian advised him to relax and suddenly, Dorian was giving a shirtless Clint a shoulder rub. She told him it was okay not to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders and then — Yowzas! Clint swept Dorian into a kiss and they made love. Afterward, Clint took off and Blair came in to ask why. Dorian explained what was going on with Jessica.
Clint showed up at Asa's and informed Viki about Jessica and Antonio's breakup. Viki complained of feeling completely helpless as a parent. Clint suggested they put their heads together and find something that will help their daughter. Marty's memories of her attackers' faces were fuzzy, and while Miles's story about the investment meeting checked out, John was still wary of Miles. Meanwhile, Miles met with the lead attacker and paid him off. Cristian tried to talk Antonio down, but he said there was nothing left to say and threatened to leave town. Cristian tried to prevent him from leaving, but Antonio turned around and raised a fist. Cris carried on the violence by butting his own head against the wall. Nash pleaded with Jessica to stop beating herself up over everything and they kissed, just as Antonio saw from the window and walked away.

Cole helped quiet down the auditorium so that Britney could make an announcement. Paige reprimanded Cristian for using his cell phone when he needed to recover. John advised Paige not to waste her breath. Marty found Miles lurking around the hospital and asked what he was doing there. Miles claimed he wanted to be tested as a match for Jessica. Dressed more appropriately for a funeral, Natalie brought a box of things to Jessica’s hospital room to entertain her. Jessica was gazing at a picture of Jamie and asked her sister to take down the photos. Nash encountered Antonio, who started a rant about Jessica not being the woman he fell in love with, but instead someone who lies and cheats and walks all over the feelings of an "innocent little girl."
Cole, Langston, Starr and the other students listened as Britney said she wanted to tell her side of the story. She explained that she used Henry, letting him write her papers and pretending to be his friend, but that she didn’t know he’d snap the way he did. The kids started to verbally attack Britney, not buying a word of her semi-apology, until Cole came to her defense and reminded them that people gave him a second chance after he got in trouble for steroids. The kids backed up Langston when she said she wanted Britney to show her remorse with more than just words. Starr surprised everyone by yelling at them to grow up and just let it go.
John sided with Cristian, who wanted to bust out of the hospital, but as soon as Paige left, John told Cris leaving is his mistake because there’s a group out there that may want him dead. Cristian insisted that he had to protect Evangeline, while John assured him that there are guards outside her door 24/7. John reminded Cris that Evangeline means a lot to him, too.
Jessica explained to Natalie that she told Antonio the truth about her and Nash. Natalie needed a little more info, so Jess recounted how she realized she loved Nash after she married Antonio and was soon no longer able to control her feelings. Natalie recalled falling for John when she thought Cristian was dead and said she understood loving two men, but then realized her sister wasn’t just talking about loving them. Jessica compared herself to Viki cheating with Sloan when she was having problems with Clint, and berated herself for cheating and ended up in the hospital. Natalie told her to stop beating herself up and just focus on getting better.
Antonio stood about two inches from Nash’s face as he asked how it felt to have sex with his wife and pretend to be Antonio’s friend. Nash said it stinks for everyone and he wishes things could have wrapped up more "civilly," but that what’s done is done. Antonio went back to the sex part, asking how many times Nash had sex with his wife! Nash told Antonio to grow up and asked what he thought he was doing by marrying Jessica in the first place. Antonio shoved Nash into the wall, and Nash accused Antonio of being completely oblivious to what was going on with his own wife. "I was a good husband and a good father," argued Antonio. Nash said he' a good father, too, and that he will be a good husband. He said he was sorry, but in what world could he and Antonio ever be friends? "You can be sorry in hell," Antonio seethed, then threw Nash onto a nearby table. Cristian came out and pried his brother off Nash, then tried to talk Antonio down.
Paige agreed to see what she could do for Miles, who wanted to thank Marty for her help by taking her to dinner. When she told him that she had to go to Cherryvale to work on setting up her lupus support group, he gawked in amazement. Miles suddenly remembered something Jordan said about women liking to be rescued and ran off. John showed up and said he wasn’t allowed to be tested as a donor match because the skin grafts had made his immune system vulnerable. John warned Marty to watch out for Miles, who was busy draining gasoline from a car in the parking garage. Miles hid behind a column as Marty came to her car. She heard a sound and called out, "Hello? Is anybody there?"
Vincent arrived at the hospital to check on Layla, who informed him that Evangeline was in a coma and going to a special-care facility. Layla said she called their mother, who was on her way over. Seeing her in a coma, perhaps with brain damage, was an Evangeline she’d never seen before, Layla admitted. She then broke down crying on Vincent’s shoulder.
Britney thanked Cole for supporting her and hugged him as Starr looked on, lamenting that she pushed Cole away. Layla, Vincent and Shaun walked past Marty in the parking garage and she realized she was being paranoid, then got in her car. John made a call about Miles and said he needed some info for an interview he had set up for that evening. Cristian asked Antonio to tell him what was going on, so Antonio revealed that he and Jessica were kaput. Nash showed up at Jessica’s hospital room with some flowers (now that’s more like it!). He snuggled into bed with her and assured her that she was going to get better.

Bo told John that the entrance to Cristian's loft had been sealed and that everyone was fine ... except for Evangeline, who still hadn't woken up. Meanwhile, the survivors of the latest One Pure People hit were pacing around the hospital when Layla rushed in to ask about her sister. In the parking garage, Tate ran into his father, who wanted to know why his old man was the last to know about his "gay" son. Langston and Starr checked out some boys dancing in the back of the gymnasium. Marcie informed the girls that the male lead bailed on the show and they needed to find a replacement. Starr watched Britney and Cole leave the gym together. Outside, Britney said she wasn't sure she could face the Mackler family. Nash blabbed to Clint that Jessica was in the process of ending her marriage, while Jessica insisted to an incredulous Antonio that Nash is the man she wants to be with.
Bo informed John that Evangeline's heart stopped beating at the site of the accident. John threatened to hunt down and kill the OPP perpetrator if Evangeline doesn't survive, then headed for the hospital. Meanwhile, Paige announced to Layla, Cristian, Nora, Lindsay and Talia that Evangeline had lapsed into a coma. Nora gave Layla some comforting words about her own coma, then started to cry when Layla and Cris went in to see Evangeline. John showed up and told Talia that he was helping with the investigation because "Antonio's got a lot on his plate." Bo arrived and Paige explained to him that Evangeline was stable but still comatose. Paige then told Layla about a special facility that deals with cases like Evangeline's.
In the gymnasium, Marcie asked some boys listening to music on the bleachers to leave, but their ringleader was interested in what kind of "gig" Marcie had going on there, then caught Langston's eye as she played the piano. Langston approached the guy and asked if he wanted to audition for the musical. He introduced himself as Markko, but as soon as his friends returned, he told her he'd rather stick pins in his eyes than be in her dumb show. A distracted Starr admitted to Marcie that she was upset that Cole and Britney left the gym together. Amber explained to Starr that Cole went with Britney to talk to Henry's parents. Langston called Markko a phony. Britney and Cole returned to the gym and Langston immediately started to dig into Britney, who announced that she had something to say to everyone.
Tate's father claimed he came to town to help his son with Rex, who'd been calling a lot inquiring about Tate's past. Mr. Harmon wanted to know about Tate's involvement with Adriana. When he said Adriana was in love with Rex, he advised his son to fight like a true Harmon. Tate alluded to a secret that Rex was after. Mr. Harmon wanted to stay in town a few days, remarking how excited he was to watch Rex go down. Adriana came out of the elevator just in time to meet Kirk Harmon, and noted that Tate had never mentioned his father. Tate put something in his trunk, which contained a pile of clothes and some duct tape.
Clint had a hard time believing that Jessica wants to be with Nash, who insisted that no one is going to keep him away from Jessica anymore. If Jessica is in love with Nash, she certainly has more to worry about than him, Clint remarked. Meanwhile, Jessica apologized to Antonio for hurting him and swore that she still loves him, but that she couldn't control her desire to be with Nash. "We're meant to be together," she stated. Jessica explained that she tried her best to make their family work, but he noted that he didn't have to try at all. He demanded to know if she knew she loved Nash at their wedding or on their honeymoon. She said it wasn't then, but it wasn't one exact moment either. Her biggest regret was that she put Jamie in the middle of everything, she said. Antonio asked about the kissing that Jamie referred to and Jess admitted to kissing Nash at their loft. Antonio recalled finding her necklace at the quarry and suggested that it didn't just fall off by accident. What was she doing at the quarry? he wanted to know. "Nash and I ... made love," she said. Antonio refused to accept what he was hearing and said he wished he'd never met Jessica, then walked out of the hospital room. Outside, Nash and Antonio came face-to-face.
