OLTL Recaps Week of June 18, 2007
Friday, June 22, 2007
Nash carried Jessica over the threshold at his cottage. Cristian arrived at La Boulaie to tell Blair about Kirk's arraignment. Starr complained to Cole about how stubborn her mom is. Marty accused Miles of following her when she ran into him at the hospital. He informed her that he was checking on Jessica, but she'd just been released. Perhaps they're meant to be together if they're at the same place at the same time, he suggested, but Marty made it clear that there were no signs and she hated him for forcing her into marriage. John questioned Dr. Young about Marty's recent visits, flashing his badge to get her to talk. Dr. Young informed John that she doesn't respond well to strong-arm tactics. She refused to turn over Marty's tape without a court order. John went off to get his court order and told the judge he believes the tape contained information that would clear David of Spencer's murder.
Meanwhile, Miles assured Marty that no one would ever know about her crime because he stole the tape from Dr. Young's office. If it was anyone else in the world, he would have gone to the cops, he said, but because he loves her, he saved her. Marty called him delusional and said she'll never love him. So go to the police station and confess, he challenged. Marty remarked that she wishes Miles could be the same person she saw in him initially, just then a small boy with a facial deformity called out, "Miles?" Miles gave his little buddy advice as Marty watched. The strange boy went off for his pre-op tests and Marty noted that it seems pretty convenient that Jeff showed up right as they were discussing the old Miles. John interrupted their conversation with a phone call, requesting Marty's presence at the station.
Cristian asked Blair what was really bothering her, and Blair went off on her teen's recent antics. Cristian pointed out that this has a lot more to do with Todd than the teens themselves. Blair was afraid that if Starr got closer to Cole, she might start looking at Todd the way Marty does, which would absolutely kill Todd. And if she lets Starr date Cole, it's almost like admitting that Todd's gone, Blair explained. "I don't know how to let go," she confessed. Cristian pointed out that decisions about Starr's upbringing is really up to Blair now. Blair thanked Cris for his help. He noted that with the "whole sex thing" out of the way, they could confide in each other.
The mystery man watching over Todd told his girlfriend to give Todd another shot if he wakes up. The mysterious blonde heard him mumble "Blair" and checked out the addresses on Todd's phone. The girl found Blair's number and considered calling her, but then flipped the phone closed and went back to Todd's room. "Now what?" she sighed.
Jessica played with Bree and thanked Nash for finding Antonio and saving her life as a result. Nash showed Jessica Bree's ability to walk on her own. Jessica was grateful for a second chance and looked forward to them being a family. After Nash put Bree to bed, Jessica confessed to feeling guilty about Antonio's current state. Bree began to cry and Jessica insisted on checking on her. Nash answered a knock on the door; it was a man with divorce papers for Jessica.
Starr lamented that school was almost over, which could mean less time for her and Cole to see each other. "Trouble for the king and queen of the prom?" Britney interrupted, then slithered by after a few more snide remarks. Cole assured Starr that nothing would come between them again. Langston filled Markko in on Starr and Cole's parents' history and Langston told Britney to leave Starr and Cole alone. Starr received a phone call from Blair, who said she wasn't comfortable with what she was about to say, but that it might be okay for Cole and Starr to see each other. Langston, Markko and Britney watched as Starr whooped that it was okay for them to date! “I take back every mean thing that I ever said to you!” Starr told her mom. Blair was pleased that she could bring her daughter happiness, but reiterated to Cristian that it's like admitting Todd's gone. Her phone rang and it was the blonde calling from Todd's phone. "He's right here. I'm looking at him," the girl stated.
John returned to Dr. Young's office with his court order. She reluctantly retrieved the tape and played it, but it was blank. Dr. Young assured John that she didn't produce a blank tape on purpose. John asked if Miles Laurence had been by to see her, and she recalled leaving Miles alone in the office. Miles went to visit Jeff with a bag of gifts and told Jeff that Marty is his wife. Jeff wondered why Miles isn't on his honeymoon if he's just gotten married. John called Marty's bluff by showing her the tape. "He swore that he'd never give you that tape," Marty stammered.

Blair wanted all the details of prom night, including how things went with Markko, while Marty grilled Cole about his night. He said he had the best night of his life and he and Starr got back together, leaving out the bitchy cheerleader, Day-Glo rave and giant moon in Dorian's yard. In John's apartment, David was already wearing out his welcome with some early-morning Tai Chi. Rex wasn't too happy to see that "son of a racist" Tate in his boxer-briefs at Adriana's door.
Viki brought baby Bree to see Jessica, who claimed to be ready for her hospital release. Jessica was worried that she was missing out on Bree's development. Paige arrived to examine Jessica, who clearly needed to go home as Nash was struggling with the restless tot. Viki expressed some concern about Jess going home too early. Paige agreed to release Jessica, but only if she agreed to take it easy, and reminded her that she's still living with hepatitis C.
Meanwhile, Talia was visiting with a still-hospitalized Antonio when Cristian burst in and announced that he wanted his brother back. "For what it's worth, he's been here night and day for you," Talia told Antonio before leaving for court. Cristian argued his case, and Antonio asked Cris to represent his "brother" at the arraignment since he couldn't be there. Just moments later, Jessica showed up with Bree to tell Antonio that they were going home. Antonio wasn't too friendly, but Jessica said she just wanted him to see Bree, who he admitted was like a daughter to him. He touched Bree's little hand and said, "I'll never forget you, you'll always be a beautiful little girl just like...." A tear ran Jessica's cheek as she knew what he was going to say. "Just like you're supposed to be," he finished. Jessica said she hoped for a speedy recovery for Antonio and that someday he'd forgive her. Nash showed up to remind Jessica about her release papers. Antonio looked close to tears as they left.
Marty wasn't thrilled with Cole's news. He argued, "If you can marry that creep, than I can be with Starr." They headed to Dorian's before Starr had time to tell Blair about their reunion, so she was forced to break the news to her mom in front of an audience. Marty advised Blair to listen to her daughter and said Cole made a strong argument that the kids would rather not sneak around. Blair was concerned that she'd be breaking Todd's wishes by allowing Starr to see Cole, so she forbid them to date. Starr told her mom that she was through listening to her and planted a big kiss on Cole. After Cole and Marty left, Starr blew up at her mom, yelling that Cole was on their side and was going to help them find out about Todd's disappearance. "You are not going to keep me and Cole apart ... Never!" she cried as she stormed out.
Adriana explained to Rex that she didn't sleep with Tate. Rex failed to understand how Adriana could support someone who nearly killed her brother. Layla and Vincent arrived wanting to know the same thing. Adriana jumped to Tate's defense. Tate was smarmy and cool as Layla and Vincent jumped down his throat.
Nora was pleased to have a chance to prosecute the arsonist, but was disappointed that she didn't have more people to put away, referring to Kirk as just a “drop in the bucket" of racists out there. Bo started to second-guess himself, thinking maybe Kirk wasn't the guy, but Nora told him she was sure he got the right guy. Bo asked Lindsay not to open the gallery yet for public viewing, causing her to wonder if they had really nabbed the perp. Everyone was happy to see Cristian arrive for the arraignment. Nora read all the counts and the judge asked Kirk if he understood the charges brought against him. Bo kept a close eye on Kirk, while Rex watched for Tate's reaction. Kirk's attorney informed the judge that he wished to plead nolo contendre, no contest. It carries the same weight as a guilty plea, Nora explained to Rex and Lindsay, even though he's technically not admitting any guilt. Adriana promised to stand by Tate. Nora ran home to tell Matthew the "good news."
"Put some pants on," John yelled at David, who reminded John that if he kicks David out, Marty's secret might just not be a secret anymore. "You push me, I'll call your sugar daddy in for questioning," John threatened. After using the remainder of John's dental floss, David tried to get John to dish on his more-than-professional interest in Marty. "Keep in mind that shrinks always need shrinks themselves," he noted, and John thought back to Marty's prior panic attacks and appointments with Dr. Young, then instructed David to be gone when he gets back.
Kirk wanted a word with Tate before being escorted back to jail. "I love you, son. I always will. Don't forget that," he said, then leaned in and whispered, "I'll take this to the grave. No one will ever know that it was you." Tate was stone-faced as he watched his father go to jail. Rex kept his eyes on Tate.

Starr and Cole finished kissing just as the pouring rain came to a halt. "I always loved you and I never stopped," Starr admitted. Miles reminded Marty that if she goes to prison, she'll lose her son. John paid them an unexpected visit. Britney couldn't wait to be crowned prom queen, but was thrown for a loop when Markko and Langston won. Marcie was very pleased with herself, while Langston threatened to kill "McPain." "Be very afraid, "Markko told their "subjects" and threatened to abdicate his throne. Starr and Cole entered, and Langston and Markko gave their crowns to them. Everybody danced and rejoiced and suddenly the prom turned into some kind of black-lit rave.
At the station, Bo questioned Kirk Harmon, who claimed there is no proof that he is the arsonist. Bo showed Kirk a bunch of graphic crime-scene photos, emphasizing how personal this case had become. "You made your point," said Harmon. Bo warned him that he's looking at life in prison or maybe even the death penalty and promised he would get the necessary evidence to put Kirk away. Kirk requested a public defender and Talia cuffed him.
Adriana asked Tate if he knew his father is a racist. He explained that he hadn't spent much time with his father since he was in high school, so he didn't really know much about him. Adriana reminded Tate the crimes were personal for her, too, and if Kirk is indeed the culprit, then he deserves to go prison. "If they find my father guilty, are you going to hate me?" Tate asked.
John arrived under the guise of needing a consult on a case. When John asked to speak with Marty alone, Miles wouldn't let him. Miles received a late-night phone call from his lawyer and stepped out of the room. John noticed that Marty shivered at Miles's touch and, when Miles out of earshot, said he could help her if she just told him what was really going on. Marty said she already confided that she killed Spencer, and there was nothing else to hide. John wanted to understand how Marty could have let Miles blackmail her. When John left, Miles wanted to know if John suspected Marty of murdering Truman. "I see, if he arrests me, you lose your leverage," she pointed out. Miles claimed he never said he'd hurt John, but reminded her that if John arrests her, he will be the one who takes her away from her son.
After the rave sequence, Starr and Cole told Langston and Markko that they got back together. Langston and Markko agreed that thinking each other are freaks isn't the worst thing in the world, then sang a slower version of "You're the Freak." Starr and Cole were ready to leave the prom when Britney showed up, hands on hips, informing them that they weren't going anywhere. Britney chastised Starr for jerking Cole around, then sang, "It's War" in a Joan Jett-meets-Pussycat Dolls-style sequence.
Cole gave Starr a ride home. "I hope it's not a dream," he said about their reunion, and they agreed to put off dealing with their parents for one night. Adriana comforted Tate after he watched his father go to a cell, then offered Tate a place to crash. David showed up at John's and informed him that he needed a place to crash, too, and it was going to be right there. "First things first, can I borrow your toothbrush?" David asked. Langston and Markko finally kissed, and left the prom together. Cole and Starr ended their night with a dance under the stars, while listening to their "favorite song," which just happened to be "Together," the first song of Prom Night: The Musical (available on iTunes).

Starr passed out after thinking her dad was standing over her in the rain, while Cole rushed to his car in search of Starr. He called her cell, but only got her voicemail. Britney sat slumped against the bleachers at the prom and informed Aimee and Amber that Cole had ditched her for Starr. They supplied her with alcohol to boost her spirits. A seemingly lifeless Starr was lifted out of the mud by a dark figure.
Blair and Marty both ended up at the Palace Hotel bar to forget their troubles. David showed up and noted that Spencer's murderer is still out there. Before mentioning what he knows about Marty, he walked off to see if he could get a room from Renee.
Bo pulled Cole over for cutting him off. Cole explained that he was worried about Starr because she never showed up for prom. "Do you think this is a police matter?" Bo asked as if there weren't any arsonists, bombers or murderers on the loose in Llanview. Bo received a call from Talia, presumably about their arson suspect. "Sorry, we made a big arrest tonight and I was just on my way to question the guy," Bo explained to Cole, then took some more of his precious time to tell Cole that he was friends with Patrick and stood up for him at his wedding to Marty. After making sure Cole was all right, Bo hit the road and Cole found Starr's ringing cell phone in the mud.
After debating David's innocence with Clint, Viki was shocked to see a mud-drenched Starr at the hospital. Starr claimed that she was lying in the mud and saw Todd standing over her. The limo driver showed up and explained that he found Starr and helped her into a passing car and took her to the hospital, afraid she'd gotten a concussion. "You called me 'Dad,' so I thought you hit your head," he explained to Starr. "Sometimes when you really need somebody, they just kinda show up," Viki told a confused Starr, giving her a hug. Starr then wandered into a nearby X-ray room and sang, "Fly to You," thinking of Cole, who joined in song while he flew, er, drove, to her. A nurse examined Starr, and Viki pointed out that it wasn't yet midnight and she still had time to make it to the dance. Starr used Viki's phone to call Markko.
At the prom, Langston caught Markko's eye as she walked by with the ballot box. Marcie tried to get Markko to ask Langston to dance. Britney came across Markko's unattended ringing phone and answered, fibbing to Starr that she and Cole were having a fantastic time, then sang about being a bitchy cheerleader.
In a perfect opportunity to break into song, Viki gave Starr a confidence boost, but stuck to talking as she advised Starr to listen to her heart. "What does your heart tell you?" she asked, piano music creeping up. Starr admitted that she loved Cole, so Viki urged her to go to prom in time to tell him so. Meanwhile, Dorian's driver found Cole by the car and informed him that Starr was probably still at the hospital. Cole showed up at the hospital just as Viki dropped Starr off at the dance, making her promise to call her aunt when she needed a ride home.
Marcie continued to prod Markko into asking Langston to dance. "Look at it as a permission slip to do the things you want," the teacher said. Britney and her girls schemed to get her elected prom queen and tricked Langston into leaving the ballot box unattended. Marcie caught them moments later and made another permission slip metaphor to get the girls to scurry, then devised a scheme of her own. When Starr finally arrived, Markko informed her that Cole had already left.
Clint arrived home to hear from Nigel that David had been released from prison. They realized they both knew about Asa paying David to kill Spencer. "Why in hell did he want Truman dead?" Clint wondered, just as a rain-soaked David entered, still chirping about his $10 million. David threatened to tell Bo about Asa's crime if Clint didn't help him get the money. Clint didn't buy his blackmail attempt and sent him packing.
Markko and Langston realized that "Mrs. McPain" had been working them all night, and were even more shocked when they were announced as the prom's king and queen. At the Palace, Blair and Marty shared a brief connection when they realized they'd both given their children watches that had been given to them by their husbands. On the steps of the school, Starr reprised "Come With Me" just as Cole joined in and they ran to each other in a kiss.

Prom Night: The Musical continued as Starr and Cole imagined themselves together. Britney called Cole to ask what was taking him so long, and Starr waited for Markko to arrive. Blair and Starr shared another mother/daughter moment when the doorbell rang, but it wasn’t Markko. An angry David griped to Dorian about his missing $10 million.
Talia made sure the surveillance equipment was set up, and Bo advised Lindsay to steer clear of the gallery during the sting. "It ends tonight," Bo assured her. Rex showed up and wanted to help out, but Bo insisted that he and Talia should be the only ones on the premises. Bo surmised that the arsonist/bomber would show up if the gallery was filled with the people he hates, referring to the photos displayed all around. Talia commented on how talented Cristian is as a photographer, and the subject of Bo’s personal life came up. "You were engaged to Lindsay Rappaport?!" she marveled.
Langston was upset about serving her detention at prom, which would be full of "annoying couples." Marcie tried to get her to admit to liking Markko.
Everything was working out perfectly when Dorian got in the way, David whined. Dorian tossed a vase in his direction, which he promptly caught and shattered. A food fight ensued, and Starr got caught in the crossfire. Luckily, Markko called to say he was late, giving Starr more time to remove the spilt milk from her dress. As the screwy adults ran around her, Starr climbed up on a table and felt sorry for herself with a song. Langston and Britney joined in the number, "It Isn’t Easy," at their respective posts, then ended up in Dorian’s foyer during the musical fantasy. David photographed Starr with Dorian and Blair before she headed out in Dorian’s limo.
Proud stepdad Miles took a photo of Cole and his mom before he headed off to the prom. At Britney’s, Amber and Aimee didn’t believe a Schnapps-drinking Britney when she said she was turning over a new leaf and genuinely liked Cole, while Heather commented that if she and Cole wanted to be together, then good for them. Cole imagined Starr answering the door at Britney’s, where he faced a warm reception from a bunch of teens toasting with plastic cups.
Langston reluctantly stamped the hands of prom attendees when Markko’s arrival sparked yet another debate, which turned into a hip-hop dance-off surrounded by a bunch of freaky kids for the song, “You’re the Freak.” Cole and Britney arrived, and Cole was concerned to hear that Starr hadn’t arrived yet. Meanwhile, Starr was on her way in the limo when she heard a thud. The driver went out in the rain to check it out and informed her that they’d gotten a flat tire. Markko accused Cole of being hung up on his date as Cole compulsively checked the time. Marcie brought up Langston and Markko’s attraction again and decided to illuminate with a lesson in "Chemistry," complete with a ring of male dancers. Back in reality, Britney tried to cover her insecurities about Cole and Starr and planted a kiss on him during their dance.
Some movement on the surveillance system sent Bo and Talia after their suspect with guns. A figure dropped a bag at Bo’s request and Talia followed Bo as he chased the intruder. Dorian sent David packing in the storm. Cole broke from his kiss with Britney, saying he wanted to move on but couldn’t. He abandoned Britney to go find Starr, prompting Britney to reprise "Violet Delight." Starr walked in the rain, trying to find a cell phone signal, when she landed face-down in the mud. She looked up at a figure standing before her and cried, "Dad?"
