OLTL Recaps Week of July 2, 2007
Friday, July 6, 2007
On the Llanfair lawn, David gave Viki a tai chi lesson, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Jessica and Nash showed up to drop off Bree, and David remarked that Jessica looked a little tense and could use some tai chi herself. It was the day of her divorce hearing, she explained. Talia arrived at the courthouse to offer Antonio her support. Sarah tried to get rid of Rex and Cristian; Rex seemed to think she was more worried about Hunter than she'd let on. Meanwhile, Miles found Cole down in the storage room. "You did this?" Cole cried. "You should have never come down here," Miles warned.
Vincent and Layla returned to her apartment after a visit to see Evangeline. Vincent gave her a foot rub and asked if there was anything else he could do. Layla needed a living mannequin for her latest design, so she asked him to take off his pants. He involuntarily took off his shirt, too, and they soon found themselves in a kiss.
Hunter told Blair he had a lead on Todd's whereabouts. He demanded money, but she wanted proof that he was even involved. Hunter flashed a photo on his camera phone of Todd and Blair nearly fainted. Hunter made himself comfortable as she ran to get her checkbook. When she returned, Hunter handed her a slip of paper and hinted that Todd was a lot closer than she realized. Hunter thanked her for her "business," then Blair looked at the paper and saw Marty's address written on it.
Sarah refused to go to Llanview with Rex and Cristian, so Rex threatened to call Sarah's dad, claiming he could get Cord’s number in five seconds now that Natalie works at Buchanan Enterprises. She agreed to return to Llanview only if she gets to stay with one of them. Neither Cristian nor Rex was quick to jump at the offer of a new roommate, so they flipped a coin.
Miles showed Cole the syringe and said he'd do whatever he had to do to keep Marty from finding out about Todd. He then pointed out that if Todd was in Starr's life right now, Starr and Cole wouldn’t even be allowed to date. Cole tried to leave, but Miles held him back. Meanwhile, John tried to talk Marty out of keeping up her sham marriage to Miles. He was certain she didn’t kill Spencer, so he wanted to know what else Miles was holding over her. She explained that she’s buying time until John gets some answers about Spencer's murder. Starr showed up looking for Cole, which suddenly made Marty realize Cole was taking an awfully long time in the storage room. Marty pulled Starr aside for some girl talk as a ploy to end her conversation with John. Starr thanked Marty for letting her and Cole date. John took off.
Viki warned her daughter against taking on too much too soon, just as Jessica pointed out that David was eating Bree's baby food and David's food had gone to Bree. David advised Nash to find himself a better living situation than the vineyard, referring to his own swanky setup at Llanfair. After Jessica and Nash left, David asked Viki if she was okay. He brought her some tea and listened to her voice her worries about Jess. David admitted that he'd actually wondered what it would be like to be a father, and remarked that Viki was a very good parent. John showed up to inform David that he's got a lead on who killed Spencer.
Outside the courtroom, Talia gave Antonio advice on letting go. She asked why he didn't mention the divorce hearing earlier, like the day before when they watched fireworks together, but he explained that he didn’t want to talk about something upsetting. He told her that he had a good time with her and called her a good friend. She flashed back to him taking off his shirt and seemed startled by his hand on her shoulder. Jessica and Nash arrived and the hearing got underway. The judge was curious as to why the divorce was taking place so soon after the marriage. Antonio was quick to explain that their feelings had simply changed, but Jessica piped in, explaining that she fell in love with another man and everything went wrong because of her. Outside the courtroom, Talia advised Nash to keep his distance from Antonio. The judge admonished Antonio and Jessica for taking such a commitment lightly, but granted them a divorce and wished them luck. Their lawyers handed them their divorce papers, and Jessica told Antonio that she wished things had turned out differently. He turned away, then ran into Talia and told her he wanted to be alone. Jessica appeared visibly shaken by the events. Nash went to check on her, and she suddenly collapsed on him.
Miles told Cole he wasn't going to hurt him, while imaginary Spencer lurked around and whispered in Miles’s ear to not go soft on him. Killing Todd could solve all of his problems, Miles suggested, holding out the syringe. For instance, he could get revenge on Todd for raping Marty, Miles continued. "Avenge your mother; your father would want you to," he advised Cole. When that didn’t work, Miles told Cole that if he didn’t keep Miles's secret, his mother would go to jail. Miles played the tape of Marty’s confession, cued up to the part where she said, "I killed Spencer Truman," which shocked Cole. Upstairs at Marty’s, Blair stormed in and demanded to know where she was keeping Todd. Miles told Cole that Marty killed his best friend and he still loved her. Cole deduced that's how he got Marty to marry him. Miles pointed out that if Marty goes to prison, it'll just be the two of them. Cole didn’t look too thrilled.

Lindsay ran into Marcie and Tommy in the park and immediately picked up on Marcie's anxiety. Marcie admitted that she's keeping something from Michael. Blair enjoyed breakfast with Starr and Jack on the La Boulaie patio. Starr reminded her mom that it's okay to be straight with Jack about what's going on with Todd. Rex scoffed at the nasty coffee Sarah brought home. Neither Rex nor Cristian seemed to have gotten much sleep. Sarah urged them to accept the fact that Hunter's not coming back. Miles told Marty he was on his way out for a run, and she rudely responded that she hopes it'll be a long one. Cole walked into the living room after Miles left, and asked his mom why she and her new husband never do anything together. A sleeping John had a very disturbing nightmare about Miles trying to rape Marty. In the storage room, Miles imagined Spencer's voice as he administered more drugs to Todd.
Marcie confided to Lindsay that she visited several doctors to only hear bad news: She can't conceive. When she inquired about fertility treatments, she was told they were too expensive and not worth it. Marcie said she wants to have children so badly, and is terrified of sharing the truth with Michael, especially right now. Lindsay reminded Marcie that it's not giving birth to a child that makes a woman a mother. Marcie had to quickly wipe away her tears when Michael arrived.
John woke up on the Angel Square roof, clearly after a night of drinking. Michael found him up there just as John threw a beer bottle at the ground. He wanted to know what was bugging his brother. John said it had to do with Marty and told Michael to leave him alone. Michael apologized for trying to set up John with Marty, saying if he ever knew she was in love with Miles ... John interrupted and said she's not in love with Miles, and it's complicated, so he should leave it alone.
Cole told Marty that if he liked Miles or trusted him at all, Cole would actually feel kind of bad for the guy, considering the way Marty treats him. Marty explained that they have an "understanding," and Miles is willing to put up with her. Marty changed the subject and remarked that seeing Cole happy proved that everything she did was worth it. "Mom, what have you done?" Cole asked. She covered by saying she was just glad that she changed her attitude when it comes to Starr and Cole. Cole pointed out that Blair still thinks Miles has something to do with Todd's disappearance.
Meanwhile, Miles received another imaginary visit from Spencer, who suggested that he finish what Spencer started. "This is not the man I wanted to be," lamented Miles as he leaned over Todd's body. Spencer told Miles that he wasn't attacking Blair when he was killed — he was marrying her. Miles said he'd never force himself on Marty and would do anything for her. "Does that include ... murder?" Spencer asked, as Miles looked over at Todd's body. Spencer bent down and held out a syringe, instructing Miles to give Todd a fatal injection.
Rex guessed that Hunter probably took Todd to whoever was paying him. Rex and Cristian deduced that whoever paid Hunter to nab Todd knew he'd be in Chicago and all signs point to Miles. Sarah's cell phone rang and it was Hunter. She asked where Todd was and why he took off like that. Hunter accused her of rushing him out and leaving the door open so that Blair could get to Todd. Hunter said he didn’t like being double-crossed. Cristian, then Rex, grabbed the phone out of her hands. Rex offered to make a deal, but Hunter told him to go to hell. "Nice guy you hooked up with," Rex cracked to Sarah after Hunter hung up. Sarah tried to run out but Cristian hauled her back into the apartment.
After Jack and Starr left for the day, Blair stood up to make a phone call, but Hunter grabbed the phone away from her. She wanted to know who he was, but he said all that mattered was that he could help her get to Todd. Meanwhile, Marty insisted to Cole that Miles had nothing to do with Todd's disappearance, then sent Cole on a mission to the storage room to retrieve some summer clothes. Miles returned from his run and pulled out the syringe from his pocket, debating what imaginary Spencer had advised him to do with it. John showed up at Marty's, just as Cole entered the storage room and found a bloody Todd asleep on the cot. "Oh, my God. You're Starr’s dad," he cried.

Viki brought a sunbathing David some champagne-free orange juice on the Fourth of July. David wondered why he woke up naked in her bed that morning. Did they...do it? A lonely Dorian recalled letting down Clint the night before, and was surprised to find him standing in her yard. Jessica and Nash discussed changing Bree’s legal name, Brennan Brennan. Talia appeared a little hot and bothered as she helped Antonio remove his shirt. Miles advised Cole against going to the storage room for his bathing suit.
Roxy commented about Marcie and Michael's noisy romp the night before, wondering about the possibility of a bun in the oven, which seemed to make Marcie uncomfortable. Lindsay and Roxy nearly got into fisticuffs when Lindsay accused Roxy of having loose lips when it comes to people's personal lives. Marcie insisted that she and Michael aren't rushing into anything and are enjoying their time with Tommy right now. Well, that clock is ticking, Roxy pointed out. When Michael and Marcie were alone, she talked about her parenting worries, like managing work with a second child. Michael assured her that she would be a great mom to another baby, but agreed to go at her speed. "This guy’s a keeper," Roxy smiled.
Miles got out of his close call when Marty suggested Cole just pick out a pair of shorts from his room. Miles offered some fatherly advice by telling the kids to wear sunblock, and told Marty he thought they should present a "united front" as parents. Miles desperately wanted to know what it would take for them to be a family; Marty told him that takes years to develop.
Clint offered an apology to Dorian and admitted that hearing about Viki and David made him a little jealous, too. He asked her to choose her battles and her timing just a little more carefully in the future, to which Dorian agreed. And while they were making concessions, he suggested they go over to Viki's and declare a truce. Since all their fighting has gotten them nowhere, Dorian agreed to a peace treaty, but insisted on changing her clothes first.
Meanwhile, Viki reminded David that she was not going to sleep with him and she had no idea how he ended up naked. He did a little stretching and showed off his stars 'n' stripes swimsuit. Viki wasn’t interested in a tai chi lesson, but was game for a much-needed massage. She cried out in ecstasy just as Dorian and Clint arrived with looks of disapproval. "We don’t really do duals," David cracked. Before Dorian delivered her "apology," she asked David why he was still wearing his ankle bracelet. He explained that John McBain wanted to keep a tight leash on him until Spencer's real killer is found. Clint helped Dorian utter a promise to be more "gracious" in the future and David offered to wear more clothes, while Viki and Clint made more sincere resolutions. David wandered off to prepare some hot dogs and drinks. When he offered Clint a cosmopolitan, the cowboy scoffed at drinking anything pink. Viki gave Dorian a bit of a hard time by declaring that she didn’t mind David’s habits one bit, including his tendency to walk around in skimpy clothes ("He’s very well-built, isn’t he?") and his rather loud snoring.
Jessica painted a not-so-pretty picture of Bree's future on the playground if she continues to go by Brennan Brennan, suggesting they’ll call her "Brennan squared." Nash prepared a barbecue feast, and Jessica invited Marty and her new husband to the vineyard. Miles picked up during their phone conversation and accepted Jessica's invite even after Marty turned her down, eliciting a scowl from Marty.
Talia removed Antonio's bandage and told him his scar wasn't so bad, then shared a few scars of her own, including a leg scar from a pimp's butterfly knife (she broke the perpetrator’s arm in two places). She taped him up, joking that he could repay her the next time she's assigned to desk duty. When she referred to him as "boss," he said he thought they were more than that. "I'm not sure what you're getting at," she stammered, but soon realized he was talking about friendship and seemed disappointed.
At Jessica and Nash's cottage, Miles mortified Marty by asking her to renew their vows in a proper ceremony in front of family and friends. Marty covered by saying anyone who needed to know about their feelings for each other already did and that their Vegas wedding was special enough. Jessica pointed out that Nash wanted to elope and that her parents wouldn’t really appreciate that.
Starr rubbed sunscreen on Cole's back, joking about Miles's efforts at being a dad. "Cole, I am your father," Cole joked in a low, Darth Vader voice. They engaged in some tickling and wrestling by the pool. After a swim, they talked about how to use Miles to find Todd. She worried that whatever Miles was involved in could be dangerous, but Cole said he'd do anything to help Starr. All the couples and families watched fireworks together, including Talia, who gazed at Antonio as he held Jamie.

Nash stubbed his toe on his way to a nightie-clad Jessica sitting outside. He admitted to being worried when he couldn't find her. She nursed him back to health with a kiss. Antonio gave Talia a hard time as she escorted him home from the hospital. Carlotta and Jamie were waiting in his loft. Rex and Cristian woke up after sleeping on Sarah's couch all night. Blair called Cristian and wanted a full update. Sarah seemed pleased to see the two guys shirtless in her living room. Miles shot up Todd with a sedative and said he hoped his trip was full of monsters and demons.
Marty cooked up pancakes and praised Cole for a job well done in last night's musical. Cole wondered where Miles was, just as Miles talked to an unconscious Todd and blamed him for Marty not being very receptive to Miles's affection. Miles came back upstairs for breakfast and shared an awkward exchange with Cole, telling his stepson how he reveled in "smells" not related to hospital disinfectant.
Blair also congratulated Starr on her performance in the musical. Starr wanted to hear all about Chicago. Blair told Starr about Sarah "Flash" Roberts being the one who called Blair on Todd's phone, and talked about how Cristian had been such a good friend and helped her see that letting Starr date Cole was the right thing to do. "It's wonderful to see you happy," Blair told her daughter, who in exchange called her mom "cool." Blair wanted to head over to Marty's after breakfast, and said she still thought Miles knew more about Todd than he was letting on.
Sarah refused to say anything more to Cristian and Rex, claiming there was nothing else to tell. Rex pulled something out of his pocket that he found in the couch cushions and suggested perhaps it would change her mind. It was a "little" bag of pot, which Sarah said Rex could never prove to the cops was hers. Cristian smelled the bag and made a funny face, while sugarplums danced in Todd's head. Sarah explained that neither of her parents were supportive of her being a singer, and they thought she was managing a band that was touring Asia, so she lived off the money they put in her account. She tricks them by sending postcards from all over the world, and if anything major happened in Llanview, she'd probably get a letter about it. Rex called her bluff by bringing up Jessica's illness. She was upset to hear about Jessica, but didn't fall for his "bait." Nothing was going to lure her back to Llanview, she told them.
Talia played with Jamie while Antonio caught up with Carlotta, who hinted at Talia being a catch. She asked how he was feeling about everything with Jessica, and he assured her that he was doing fine with that. Carlotta took Jamie to the diner so that Antonio could get some rest. Talia helped him back to the couch, and he insisted she stay. She helped him undress so he could take a shower.
Nash wondered if their sex life would be better now that they weren't doing it in such unpleasant confines. Jessica said she wished they'd never had sex at the quarry and cheated on Antonio like that. She suggested having a barbecue for their family and friends, including Marty. Bad idea, Nash pointed out, now that she has that new husband. Jessica was shocked to hear that Marty married Miles. The lovers then enjoyed a snack in the living room and Jessica promised to sign those divorce papers, setting Nash at ease.
Miles chowed down on Marty's life-changing pancakes and couldn't stop talking about them. When Miles left the room, Marty thanked Cole for being nice to Miles and asked how he and Starr were doing. She was glad to see her son happy. Cole asked Marty if she was positive Miles had nothing to do with Todd's disappearance. Meanwhile, Miles was down in the storage room telling Todd that he'd just had pancakes with his family and nothing would take him away from his family. Upstairs, Blair and Starr showed up to talk about ground rules for the kids dating. Miles didn't seem too happy to have company and tried to stake his position as "head of the household." Marty informed her husband that she would handle this matter, and agreed with Blair on setting a curfew and letting the kids go swimming at Dorian's (under Blair's supervision). The ladies were strangely amicable toward each other. Cole wanted to grab his swimsuit, which Marty seemed to think was in the — gasp! — storage room. Everyone rolled their eyes a lot when Miles reacted strongly to Cole going to the storage room, where Todd groaned "Blair" from his cot.

Nora was surprised to see Clint return home at such a late hour, while David coached Viki on giving Dorian and Clint a more convincing display. Blair, Cristian and Rex demanded that Sarah call her boyfriend, but all she got was his voicemail. Blair wanted answers from Sarah, who insisted that they not call her "Flash." Hunter didn't seem too concerned that Todd wasn't moving inside the body bag, while Miles seemed genuinely distraught.
Marcie and Michael returned home from Jen's posthumous birthday celebration. Marcie pointed out that Jen never got a chance to see their son. Michael remarked how nice it would be to make an addition to their family. Marcie said there was no harm in waiting, then they got down to kissing on the bed. After some exhausting lovemaking, Marcie told Michael how much she loved him. Michael made another comment about having a baby, and Marcie looked upset as she explained that she didn't want to raise a child in the terrible 2s and be pregnant at the same time.
John tried to talk Marty out of going home to Miles, but she insisted that Miles would never hurt her because he loves her, albeit in a sick way. John continued to prod Marty into revealing what she's hiding about her marriage. Marty flashed back to Miles asking her if she wanted John's blood on her hands, too, then left for Cole's high school musical (not to be confused with the musical events of prom night). The Rodi's bartender tried to give John some unsolicited love advice, but he just wanted a beer and fixed his steely gaze elsewhere.
Blair called Sarah a "chip off the old block," pointing out that her lying tendencies clearly come from her mother, Tina. Rex reminded Sarah that she'd be an accessory to murder if Todd turned up dead. Blair chewed out Sarah for keeping quiet, then called her favorite Chicago cop, Detective Morris. A new detective showed up in his place and questioned Sarah. She insisted that Hunter didn't stab Todd and that she didn't know why he was holding Manning, other than Hunter said there was money in it. Sarah stood up to Blair, who continued to get in her face. Rex defended Sarah, and Cristian remained skeptical. The detective took Sarah downtown for questioning and told Rex and Cristian to keep Blair out of his way. She vowed (once again) not to leave Chicago without Todd.
Miles unzipped the body bag and was disturbed by whatever he saw. Hunter reminded Miles about their "deal" and demanded his payment. Miles paid up and asked Hunter if he covered his tracks in Chicago. Hunter grumbled about some complications with his girlfriend and, in a rare outburst, Miles called him an idiot. Hunter informed Miles that he was done with Todd and was leaving him there, then called Miles an idiot for paying before the job's done. Hunter informed Miles that the drugs he used on Todd would be wearing off soon. Miles couldn't believe Todd was still alive and Hunter couldn't tell if Miles was happy or upset about that.
David was strangely insistent on keeping up his and Viki's love charade, and made it clear that his offer to sleep with her was "firm." Viki asked what angle he was working and assured him there was no way in hell she'd be his next Dorian, which seemed to hit a nerve. Viki pointed out that Dorian wasn't just upset to see David with Viki — she was upset to see David with anyone. He admitted to being in love with her once and that having to walk out on their wedding day was the worst day of his entire life. "That was then, and this is now," he stated. He called Viki classy and low-maintenance, and remarked that he had no idea "niceness could be so sexy." She admitted to being flattered by his proposition, but told him to keep his clothes on. David nodded off while watching a movie in Viki's bed, so she went to the guest room.
Clint told Nora he walked out on Dorian after she was so preoccupied with what was going on at Llanfair. Nora had a good laugh and said she told Clint it was a mistake to date Dorian, just as the Mistress of La Boulaie herself walked in. Nora stuck by her assertion, noting Dorian's poor track record. Clint asked Dorian to leave. Dorian asked if he wasn't just the least bit curious to hear what she witnessed in Viki's bedroom. Nora provided running commentary as Dorian recounted the events of the evening. “You rose to the bait like a starving carp,” Clint noted of Dorian falling for Viki and David's scheme. Clint allowed Nora to stay against Dorian's wishes as Dorian apologized to Clint. "If she married David Vickers, she'd be Viki Vickers!" Nora marveled. Upon realizing that Dorian cared more about what Viki and David were doing than their romantic plans, Clint asked Dorian for some time apart. Dorian agreed, but asked him to think about all the good parts of their relationship in the meantime.
Miles dragged Todd's body inside the apartment just as he heard the elevator bell ringing. Marty walked into the living room and cried, "Miles! What have you done?" Miles had the lights dimmed and two glasses of wine ready for some marital "unwinding." As Marty coldly turned him down, Miles nervously looked over at the body bag lying behind couch. Marty told Miles she was going to get ready for the school play and left to take a shower, so he dragged the body away. In Chicago, Rex and Cristian persuaded Blair to return to Llanview while they stay to keep an eye on Sarah. After moving Todd's body, Miles had a glass of wine. Marty asked why he was all sweaty and he said he was doing pushups. Cut to a storage room and there's Todd in a body bag unzipped just over his face.
