OLTL Recaps Week of July 9, 2007Friday, July 13, 2007 Jessica began coding. Michael rushed everyone out of the hospital room, then he tried to revive her. Paige rushed in and took over. "We can't lose her now," Nash exclaimed. Michael headed home. The extended Buchanan family waited and worried. Miles asked Marty what Jessica's chances were. Meanwhile in surgery, Jessica's blood pressure dropped. Bo overheard that Clint paid David ten million dollars to donate part of his liver to Jessica. Bo exploded and threatened to send David back to Statesville. Clint told Bo not to tell Viki for the sake of the family. Clint explained how Asa was behind this money. "If you arrested David, you are also going to have to arrest Pa," he explained. Now that Bo knew the whole story, he agreed not to prosecute David. "I won't be responsible for my father's death," he stated. "Just one more thing I'll never be able to forgive Pa for," Bo added and walked off. Lindsay arrived checking in on Jessica. Bo hinted that he was on "slippery moral ground." Bo and Lindsay left to return to their prospective jobs. Bo assured Clint he'd keep quiet. At the diner, Cole, Markko, Starr and Langston talked about the hunt for Todd. Cole said he was worried if Todd returned he'd make trouble for Cole's romance with Starr. He was uncomfortable because Starr kept pushing him to keep spying on Miles. Sure enough, Cole got a call from Miles. Brittany overheard enough to know Cole was lying when he told Starr it was his mom "checking in." At another table, Brittany noticed that Cole didn't like to talk about Starr's dad. Brittany suspected there was a reason and planned a way to bump into Cole at the movies. Underneath a bridge, a dog started sniffing at an unconscious Todd. The dog began to bark but scampered off. Todd opened his eyes, got up and tried to figure out where he was as he walked off.
Vincent gave Layla a flower in the park. They reviewed all the trouble OPP had caused them. Vincent wondered what it would be like to learn "your
father had been behind all that." Vincent hoped people didn't think he was like his father. "Nor that I am the man I used to be," he said, looking into Layla's eyes. Layla acknowledged that Vincent was changing. "I'm not doing it for you," he clarified, "I'm doing it for me." Layla admitted to liking Vincent. "I'm liking the new you a lot," she said, as he went in for a kiss.
Thursday, July 12, 2007 Adriana accompanied Tate to the police station as Bo had a few questions for him regarding Kirk's murder. Bo told them that Kirk wanted to talked to him after he met with Tate. Tate lied to Bo and said that he had asked his father to give up all the names of the OPP if he wanted to have a relationship with his son again. Layla and Vincent warned Adriana that her apartment was swarming with reporters wanting to know how she was feeling about being friends with a man whose father had just been murdered in prison. Rex asked Bo for permission to have his sources ask around Statesville to get the scoop on Kirk and Tate. Bo didn't think Tate was a boy scout but couldn't get anything on him. Bo warned Rex to be careful. Tate made a statement in front of the press saying he was sad about his father's death but hated what he had done to people such as Vincent and Layla. He also stated his gratitude to Adriana for her support (and said this in Spanish, no less). Rex rolled his eyes. Miles went to check up on Todd, who appeared to be passed out in a park. Miles shot him up with some more drugs to keep him out of it. Blair was seen in the park handing out flyers. One flyer slipped out of her hands and landed on Todd. Todd was hidden underneath the bridge Blair was walking on. Miles told Marty he was thinking about suing the police department. Marty reminded Miles that they didn't have a real marriage. Miles headed out. Marty immediately called her therapist who raced over for a home visit. She wasn't convinced that Marty actually killed Spencer. Marty explained why she married Miles. Marty said she was so angry with Miles "I could just kill him." Dorian was horrified that David had asked for $10 million from Clint for donating part of his liver to Jessica. David reminded Dorian that he was saving a life, besides, "Money doesn't matter to a Buchanan," he quipped. David continued to insist that Viki not find out about the financial transaction. Viki came in and thanked David yet again for "his generous gift." Clint asked Dorian to accompany him to his daughter's wedding. Nash asked Clint for his daughter's hand and promised he'd make her happy every day. The two men hugged. The minister arrived. Jessica was determined to marry Nash before she went into surgery. Paige said they had to hurry the wedding along. Roxy, Viki and Natalie rushed into Jessica's room to help get the bride ready. Nash and Jessica got married. Nash rambled on during his vows. Jessica didn't get as many words out, but it was a very tender, loving scene. Miles crashed the wedding (discreetly) and reminded Marty that those vows applied to their marriage as well. Marty tuned him out.
Wednesday, July 11, 2007 No one was more surprised than David when he learned he was a match for Jessica's liver. He expressed some concern about the surgery but agreed to it, which made Viki, Clint and Dorian very happy. Paige said the surgery would have to happen immediately. David got a little nervous but went off to be prepped. Viki and Clint went to Jessica's room with the news. Jessica told her parents that she and Nash were getting married. Viki told Jessica about the liver. Nash insisted on getting married "today. Before the surgery," he said to a beaming Jessica. Nash said they could throw a big reception after the surgery. Viki went to call a judge for a fast marriage license. Clint thanked David for helping Jessica. David asked for the $10 million "your father promised me." (There went that goodwill between Clint and David.) Viki thanked Dorian for insisting that David get tested. "It's a very selfless thing that he's doing," Viki said. Meanwhile, David insisted to Clint that no one was going to hear about this deal until he left town. "How do you want the money transferred?" Clint asked soberly. Viki hugged David for being so selfless. David looked pained. Adriana ran into Rex and his new house guest, Sarah, at the diner. Sarah made it clear that she wasn't having sex with Rex. Adriana believed her, though was startled to hear that Rex and Sarah were living together. Tate commented that life was a lot better when Rex was in Chicago. Sarah, meanwhile, knew all about Tate. "He looks much dorkier in person," she said, adding that Rex was much cuter. Sarah wanted to hide from her Uncle Bo when he entered the diner. Rex gave her his keys so she could head back to his place. Jessica said yes to Nash's marriage proposal. Nash headed out to find a priest. Natalie said she'd be supportive. "You won't have to wear a bridesmaid dress," Jessica said. Jessica worried that her body might reject David's liver as well. Natalie thought that Jessica was jumping the gun to start worrying about that. Nash and Jessica were ready to get married the minute the license came. Cole accused his mother of keeping secrets. John entered with Miles. "Why is everyone looking at me?" Miles asked. Miles claimed he knew nothing about Hunter or Todd's whereabouts. Cole asked Miles what he did with Todd. "I'm just protecting my mom," a steely-eyed Cole told his stepfather. Prior to John catching up with him, Miles was stopped while driving out of town. He got very nervous when the cop asked for his license and registration. Then John showed up, making the situation even more tense. Miles didn't have his license, which caused the Spencer's spectre to taunt him. John noted that Miles was driving Marty's car — "a stolen vehicle?" John and the uniformed cop thought driving without a license was cause for arrest. Miles practically turned white when John asked him to pop the trunk. Spencer told Miles that he doesn't have a choice. "What the hell is that?" John said when the trunk opened up. Fortunately, Todd's body wasn't there. John brought Miles in for questioning. "I want to find out what you are hiding, and what you know about Todd Manning," John said. "See? I told you everything would be all right," ghostSpencer said.
Tuesday, July 10, 2007 Tate visited a frustrated Kirk, who advised Tate to put as much distance as possible between him and the hate crimes. "My only mistake was failing to see my plans through to the end," said Tate. Kirk asked Tate what he had planned for Adriana. He told his son that he didn't think it was too late for Tate to change the kind of person he has become. "I don't think we're ever going to see eye to eye," said a stubborn Tate, who told Kirk that he wouldn't be coming back to visit. Tate, whose palpable vengefulness aroused Kirk's suspicions, gave no response when Kirk asked him whether he was planning any more crimes. Later in the park, Tate ran into an One Pure Party member who expressed worries about Kirk and what he might tell the police. Tate, vowing to stick with his mission, tried to convince the OPP member that his father had no intention of turning him in. Envisioning Tate's merciless threats, Kirk decided that it was time someone put a stop to Tate's crime streak, and he requested to speak with Bo. The OPP member made a phone call, assuring that Kirk was a security threat and would be taken care of. Carlotta greeted Adriana at the diner before asking her about her relationship with Tate. "Let's just say I'm the only friend he has right now," said Adriana. Carlotta and Adriana soon welcomed back Cristian, newly returned from Chicago. He discussed what happened with Sarah, casually commenting on her pretty looks. Adriana met Tate at the diner and told him that she knew what it was like to have an evil father. Tate put a spin on his encounter with Kirk, telling Adriana that it was Kirk who said that he never wanted to see Tate again. "One day soon, you'll know exactly how much you mean to me," said Tate to a clueless Adriana. John called in Marty's license plate in an attempt to track down Miles. Blair told John everything she knew about Hunter and his connection to Todd. Everyone was suspicious when Cole claimed that he was convinced Todd is still alive. John brought Cole with him to the storage room, leaving Blair and Marty to argue over Miles' involvement in Todd's disappearance. John wondered why Cole looked so suspicious. Cole said that he didn't want anyone going to the storage room because he kept some of his old steroids there. After Blair and Starr left, Cole told Marty that he was upset with her. Walking into Rex's apartment, Sarah remained optimistic. Rex, on the other hand, warned Sarah, "Don't get too comfy." Sarah rummaged through Rex's things and found a Midnight Logic CD among his stuff. Before bickering again, the two briefly connected as Rex complemented Sarah's singing voice and she told him that she was sorry about the loss of Jen. Sarah teased Rex for still being hung up on his ex. "You used to be a cool guy. Now you're just a big sap," said Sarah, who admitted that she made a mistake with Hunter. After finding some of Adriana's clothes in Rex's drawers, Sarah threw them off the balcony, telling Rex she wanted to help him move on. John arrived to question Sarah about Todd's disappearance. Sarah said that she knew nothing about Todd besides what she had already told. Nevertheless, John left feeling hopeful after hearing that Marty's car had been found.
Monday, July 9, 2007 At Roxy's beauty parlor, Viki told Roxy and Natalie that she was worried about Nat working for Grandpa Asa. It was also revealed that Asa was sober. Gal talk ensued about David staying at Viki's and Natalie getting cozy with Vincent. Major denials followed. The lighthearted conversation ended when Nash called Viki with news of Jessica's collapse. Natalie and Viki headed over to the hospital. Later, David was willing to pay Roxy for the full relaxation treatment. They chatted a bit about his friendship with Viki. David then learned that Jessica was back in the hospital. He headed over there to see if Viki needed anything. Nora was concerned that Matthew didn't want to eat at the Angel Square Diner. "I'm worried about Tate Harmon," he told his mom. Matthew wondered how someone could have a racist dad and not be a racist. Nora explained that hatred wasn't inherited; it has to be learned. Earlier, David insisted he didn't want to be used by John as "live bait for the scissor stabber" when John told him he'd have to help them catch Spencer's murderer. John reminded David that he had done lots of little crimes and could easily be sent back to jail. David pointed out that Marty already confessed. John said that there was no definite evidence tying Marty to the murder. David told John that there were plenty of other ways to tell a girl that "you like her." He offered John coaching in how to date like a regular gentleman. He even said he could turn John "into the marrying kind." John wasn't in the mood for David's funny remarks. Blair interrupted their banter with an emergency. "It's about Todd. I found him," she said. John was surprised to hear that Blair was at Marty's but headed over there to get the 411 on everything. Blair barged into Marty's apartment and accused her of knowing where Todd was. Marty (understandably) was clueless. Starr tried to calm her mother down. Cole interrupted and told the women, "If you want to know about Todd, talk to Miles." Cole had just returned from the storage room where he actually saw Todd (drugged up) and Miles told him all about Marty's taped confession. Marty demanded that Cole tell them what Miles told him. Cole clammed up when he remembered Miles threatened to turn his mother into the police. Blair kept yelling at everyone. She called John and everyone waited at Marty's for him to show up. Starr thanked Cole for spying on Miles for her. John arrived. Blair brought John up to speed on the whole Hunter/Sarah/Todd saga. Everyone (including Cole, who was lying) denied having seen Todd near this address. Marty offered to find Miles for John. "If Manning is here, we'll find him," John promised. The doorman told Marty that Miles had driven off in her car. Blair had "I told you so" written all over her face. Miles continued his conversation with the imaginary Spencer. Spencer reminded him that Todd was not a man, he's a rapist. Miles seemed to be tortured by the whole situation. "I almost killed a man," he said. Miles managed to move Todd before Blair and Marty charged into the storage room. Now in the parking garage, Spencer reminded Miles of his tortured childhood. "Look how far you've come, Miles," he said, showing him his face in the rear view mirror. Spencer explained that Miles would win points with Marty if he could protect her from Todd. Miles and Spencer drove off with Todd in the trunk of the car.
