Natalie saw Todd leaving with Jessica's things and asked why. Todd wouldn't give her the whole story, but he admitted that Jess went away to treat her stress. After Todd left, Rex came by with a plan for Natalie to get back with John, but Natalie said she doesn't want to trick John into loving her. Rex showed her the details of his plan anyway: They secretly give John a letter that looks like it was written by the killer with an enclosed photo of Natalie. Then, when John arrives to rescue her, Nat would make it look like she's escaped just before he arrived. Rex propped the letter up on a table so Natalie could stare at it reflectively.
Sister Madeleine welcomed Jessica to the St. Ann's monastery. When the nun asked Jessica to hand over her necklace with Antonio's ring on it, for her own protection, Jessica got upset saying she needed to hold onto the ring.
David met Dorian at the airport and the two had a very sweet reunion. David offered to take her home for a "not-so-proper welcome home." But before they left, Dorian saw a newspaper story reporting that Evangeline was named Woman of the Year, and said she wanted to go to the ceremony. David remembered that Spencer was taking Kelly to the event and tried to talk her out of it. Dorian insisted that they go because something outrageous always happens at those ceremonies. Once there, David practiced a speech in which he tells Dorian that Spencer is his brother, but he never got a chance to actually tell her. Dorian bumped into Kelly and asked her to introduce her to her date, Spencer. David looked on uneasily.
Kelly told Spencer, her escort to the WOTY ceremony, that event is cursed. When Kevin arrived with his date, Evangeline, Spencer taunted him about Asa's disappearance and the trouble he is in. When Spencer left to get a drink, Kevin told Kelly, "You're date has a lot of nerve talking about my grandfather that way." Kelly defended Spencer.
Also at the ceremony, Lisa (Evangeline's mother) told Vangie that Kevin is exactly the type of man she should be seeing. "I am happy John McBain is out of your life," she told her daughter. John, who attended the ceremony alone, overheard the conversation, and Evangeline apologized for her mother's unkind words.
Marcie kicked off the ceremony with a tribute to Jennifer. Tears streaming, lip quivering she told the crowd, "She was my best friend. She was our Jen."
On the plane back to Llanview, Renee figured out Asa's entire plan to have Carlo kill Blair. Asa denied everything, even that he'd kidnapped Blair in the first place, saying he is "born again." Renee asked him why he flew off to Argentina if he wasn't hiding something. Asa calmly continued to deny everything and told Renee she'd just have to trust him.
Carlo grabbed Blair, forced her inside her penthouse and roughed her up a bit before pointing a gun at her. Bo arrived with two uniformed officers just in time, but instead of surrendering, Carlo grabbed Blair, put his gun to her head and told the cops to back off or he'd shoot her. The cops lowered their guns and Carlo backed into the hallway with Blair still at gunpoint. Just then, Todd came home, sneaked up behind Carlo and disarmed him, saving Blair. Todd told Bo he wants to know who was behind the murder attempt, and Bo clearly looked concerned about what his best guess was. Down at the police station, Carlo admitted that Asa hired him to kill Blair.
Bo met Asa and Renee at the airport and arrested him.

Todd told Blair about Jessica having DID, and warned her not to go near Jess/Tess. "She could become as crazy as Margaret," he explained. "We finally get our lives together and we've got someone else out there terrorizing people," Blair lamented. Blair worried that Jessica could hurt Viki. Meanwhile, Jessica continued to fight Tess. Viki gazed at a picture of her daughter and wondered why Jessica is so angry. Jess admitted to Viki that she's been seeing a therapist, and that he thinks Jessica should get away for a while. "I haven't felt right since I married Tico," Jessica explained, assuring her mom that Antonio has been nothing but supportive. Jess blamed herself for putting Viki in the hospital, but Viki insisted that she was wasn't responsible. "Don't think you have to leave for my sake," Viki pleaded, but Jessica was set on doing so. Viki begged Jess to tell her where she was going, but Jess refused. A worried Viki gave Jessica her blessing and they shared a tearful god-bye. Jessica then asked Todd and Dr. Jamison for help in sending her away to St. Ann's. "Does the room lock from the inside, because Tess is really smart," Jessica pointed out. Todd promised that he wouldn't tell anyone of Jess's whereabouts.
Kelly arrived at Blair's to get dressed for the Woman Of the Year Award. "I'm having a fashion emergency!" Kelly wailed. "Nice girls don't wear dresses without backs," Blair advised. "That's the front," Kelly explained. After, Kelly admitted that Kevin kissed her. "Kevin's a rat and Dr. Truman's a hottie!" Starr pointed out. "Was it a good kiss, like with tongue and everything?" Starr inquired, to Blair and Kelly's shock. Starr urged Kelly to go after Spencer, but Kelly explained that she and Kevin share a past. Starr understood, admitting that things would be weird if her ex-boyfriend Travis returned to town. Starr also noted how paranoid Blair has gotten since she and Todd were rescued from Margaret/Asa. After the ladies and Jack left, Carlo snuck into the Manning penthouse. Meanwhile, the Cramers went to visit Addie at St. Ann's. Addie tried to question Blair about Blair's fear of Margaret, but Blair didn't want to discuss Peg. Instead, Blair told Addie about Kelly's impending date with Spencer. They wondered if Kelly is trying to make Kevin jealous, but Kel evaded the question. "Kelly's still in love with Kevin," Addie observed. "I think she is," Blair agreed, "but she'll be the last one to admit it."
At Capricorn, Antonio served Kevin coffee and commisserated over not being with Jamie and Ace, respectively. Kevin informed him that he's taking Evangeline to the awards ceremony. Later, Antonio was pleased to hear from his informant that his plan to take down RJ is working.
Duke and Adriana continued to hide out in South America. They started to get hot and heavy, but were interrupted by thugs. Meanwhile, Renee tried to get the scoop on Asa and Carlo's plan, but Asa kept mum. Renee threatened to call Bo unless he started talking. Renee caught on to Asa's plan to have Carlo kill Blair. In Llanview, Blair returned home and sensed that someone was in her home. She was shocked to see the intruder was Carlo.

In South Amercia, Duke and Adriana managed to capture and tie the thugs who came after them. They planned to leave the estate, but their only way out seemed to be riding horses. Adriana admitted that she can't ride a horse, but Duke promised to let her hold onto him. Adriana realized that riding horses and holding onto her beau was pretty exciting. Meanwhile, Asa demanded that Carlo kill Blair. Carlo explained that he has thugs to do his dirty work, but Asa told him, "I want the last damn thing she sees to be so horrible she carries it to hell with her." "I'll ignore the compliments," Carlo replied. Carlo then promised that Blair will be dead by midnight. Renee was concerned about Asa's association with Carlo, and with the possibility that Blair could report that Asa had kidnapped her, but Asa assured his wife that "Blair Cramer will not be doing any testifying."
Rex reported to Antonio that RJ's financial situation isn't good. "I'm trusting you to help me get my daughter back," Antonio told him, as he planned his next move to ruin RJ financially. A concerned Rex asked Antonio how an ill Viki is doing, noting how Vik has been through a lot lately, especially with her children. Antonio thanked Rex, then left to visit Viki.
Natalie went to visit her sick mother in the hospital, but instead of tending to Viki, Nat pondered how Rex had pointed out how John only declared his love for her when she'd been in danger. Nat soon snapped back to attention and Jessica joined them. Natalie admitted to her mom how she feels about John; Viki advised Nat not to do anything hasty to win his affections. Nat took Viki's words into consideration and excused herself to leave. After, Jessica apologized to Viki for provoking the argument that had ultimately sent Viki to the hospital. Jess got a scare when Viki started breathing heavily, but her mom insisted she was fine. Viki sent Jess to get her a glass of water, then filled in Antonio, who'd just arrived, on Jessica's odd behavior. "It wasn't Jessica," Viki pleaded to him. "I think she needs help and you're the one to help her. I think Jessie is battling something within herself." After, Antonio tried to get Jessica to open up about what's bothering her, but Tess's voice threatened him inside Jess's head. Jess said she'd rather deal with everything on her own.
Todd explained to Ginger about the Jessica/Tess situation and asked if Ginger would help him with Jessica. Ginger refused, explaining that it was family business. Todd urged her to keep Tess out of trouble and keep an eye on her. "If it's trouble she wants, she'll get it," Ginger noted. Todd was about to sweeten the deal by offering Ginger some cash, but a suspicious Blair walked in on them. Todd cryptically explained how Jessica was in trouble and shouldn't be around their kids. Blair urged him to be honest, so he admitted that Jess is suffering from DID. Blair believed that it was up to them to do something to help her. Todd agreed, but didn't think they should tell Antonio what was going on.
Evangeline put on a sparkly pink cocktail dress for the Woman of the Year ceremony, but her mother, Lisa, told her "It's flashy and it's the wrong color." However, John soon stopped by to wish Vangie luck and complimented the outfit. Lisa happily informed John that Kevin, a "very, very nice man," was taking Vangie. After, Evangeline returned to John the necklace he'd given her. Lisa tried to talk with her daughter, but Evangeline refused.
Rex went to grab a cup of coffee, but freaked out when it wasn't prepared to his liking. Natalie met up with him and told him how she needed a sign to see if she should go after John. Right after, John showed up. "Exactly what kind of sign are you looking for?" Rex asked. Natalie went over to say hello; John was suspicious that she and Rex are up to something. Natalie couldn't hide her happiness when she learned that Vangie had returned the necklace.

Nora prepared for her first day on the job as District Attorney. She was touched when RJ visited her at work to wish her luck and to see how she was doing since the Daniel debacle. "You did run against Colson for this office," he reminded her, when she expressed doubts about handling the job. "What am I doing here?" Nora wondered. "You're the boss!" he insisted. "Hell, I wouldn't want to have to face you." After, RJ confessed to Nora that Lindsay is having a difficult time dealing in the aftermath of Jen's death. Nora vented by smashing a photo from her and Daniel's wedding. "I will never let myself fall in love again. Ever," she vowed. Soon, Bo arrived and asked if they could call a truce, but Nora refused. "I'm not suggesting we do book-of-the-month club or anything, but we do share Matthew," Bo noted. Nora promised not to speak ill of him in front of Matthew. "Our relationship consist of parenting Matthew together and working together only when we have to," she responded, adding that she's now going by Nora Hanen. Bo warned that Matthew could probably pick up on any hostility between them.
Kevin couldn't hide his jealousy at Spencer and Kelly's blossoming friendship. Kevin made it clear to Spence that he and Kelly shared a past. Kev was upset when he learned that Kelly is attending the Woman of the Year awards with Dr. Truman. Meanwhile, Evangeline admitted to her mom that she and John had split — and that she's still confused and hurt by the breakup. She also confessed that it would've been easier to be angry with him had he actually cheated on her. Kevin arrived at the Palace where Vangie and her mom were dining and offered to take Vangie to the awards ceremony.
Bo wondered if Paige was hiding anything else about her past with Spencer, but she insisted she wasn't. She also assurred Bo that she didn't have any residual feelings for Dr. Truman. "I wanted to believe he didn't exist," she explained. "I've been in my share of relationships that have been destroyed by lies," Bo told her. "You do know me, Bo," she replied. "I didn't want to go back to bad days." Soon, David called her with a "Spencer problem," informing her that Spence wasn't planning to leave town anytime soon. Paige rushed over to be with David, but was angry when she saw that Dave didn't have any immediate problems. "What about when Dorian gets home?" he explained.
In South America, Renee was surprised to see Carlo and to learn that he was working with Asa. Asa was annoyed when Renee and Carlo made small talk — and when Carlo kissed Renee's hand in greeting. "Damn woman, stop chattering with Hesser," he instructed. "Go shopping, will you?" He then gave Hesser 48 hours to get a job for him done in Llanview. Meanwhile, Duke and Adriana were about to get it on, when they were interrupted by a loud noise. Duke ran shirtless outside to see what it was, but it turned out to be a goat. The duo still believed that Asa was planning to have Adriana killed. Later, Duke and Adriana managed to ward off a couple of thugs.

David used his Craze position to try to dig up dirt on Spencer, though he had some problems dealing with foreign contacts. At the hospital, Spence asked Paige if she regretted never having had kids while they were married. "What makes you think you could've been a father when you couldn't even handle being a husband?" Paige snapped. Spencer continued to try to have a conversation with her, but Paige insisted that he leave her alone. After, Spence got a call from a source revealing that Craze Magazine (a.k.a David) had been snooping around in his business. Nora informed Bo that she'd heard that Paige and Spencer were once married, but Bo was reluctant to believe her. Later, Spencer and a photographer paid a visit to David, pretending that he was there for the Craze article. Spence mocked David and Dorian's relationship, believing that Dave's in it for the dough, but David looked Dr. Truman in the eyes and insisted that he loves Dor. "I wake up in the morning now and know what it's like to be needed, to be part of a family - a word that's probably not in your vocabulary," David said to him. David was skeptical when Spencer revealed that he'd come to town to bond with David, his brother. "I'm here for the duration," Spence said. Meanwhile, Bo confronted Paige about Spencer. "If you can't open up to me about your past, I can't help but wonder what kind of hope there is for our future," Bo explained. Paige apologized for the lie of omission and promised to make it up to him.
At the extremely dimly-lit gym, John got himself nice and sweaty by beating the you-know-what out of a punching bag. As he did so, he recalled a childhood memory of working out with his late father, and then had another memory of his dad's death by shooting. Dad's ghost arrived to urge John not to focus on that bad memory, and to live his life instead. Meanwhile, at the police station, Evangeline and Natalie had it out over John. "You just don't know when to give it up," Nat told Vangie. "You're making a fool out of yourself, pushing yourself on a man who doesn't want you," Vangie shot back. However, Nat wasn't deterred and insisted that she has a bond with John; Vangie accused her of being a "card carrying victim," who caters to John's hero complex. "At least I don't have to pretend I'm better than anyone else," Nat told her. Nat was pleased when Evangeline seemed to end their argument ("She shut up!" Nat exclaimed), but annoyed when Vangie soon returned to get the final word in ("Dam, she didn't shut up!"). After, Evangeline vented to Nora about her and Natalie's argument. "She's just insecure," Nora noted. Vangie admitted that she feels like a failure in her life, but Nora assured her that she's not. Evangeline confessed that she still loves John. Rex advised Natalie to make John realize that he loves her — by making it look as if she's in danger.
Ginger became confused when Antonio addressed Tess as Jessica. Tess-as-Jessica lied to Antonio that she just met Ginger. After, Ginger was angry with Tess for pretending that Tess didn't know her. "You're pretty, but you're dense," Tess giggled. "Don't you get it? I'M Jessica!" A shaken Ginger left the club; Tess then turned into Jessica and was surprised to find herself there. She called Clint to wish him a happy Father's Day. Antonio went home and spent some quality time with Jamie, then met Jessica in the hospital. "Don't shut me out," Antonio said. "I want to help you."
Marcie yelled at Rex for Natalie's treatment of Ron; Rex told her not to blame him for his sister's actions. Hayes interrupted them to ask if she's come up with a sequel and thus more ways to kill people; Rexy surprisingly jumped to Marcie's defense and attacked Hayes (boy, this is a good day for arguments!). "Why would Marcie waste her time with a lowlife like you?" Rex growled. "Get out. NOW!" A contrite Marcie quickly apologized. Soon, Michael showed up; Marcie invited him to join her and her brother and dad for a Father's Day celebration, but Mike — also thinking of the late Mr. McBain — quietly turned her down. Michael then when to visit John at the gym and recalled how their father had never gotten a chance to teach Mike how to box. He urged his big bro to let go of the things that are haunting him. Meanwhile, Papa Walsh made amends with Marcie's brother, Eric, saying that he's no longer going to judge Eric for being gay.
