OLTL Recaps Week of Oct. 3, 2005Friday, October 7, 2005 Meanwhile, out near the lake, a fisherman was flyfishing in a stream when he happened upon a dead, red-headed body lying motionless in the water. Evangeline visited Cristian in prison to talk about what she learned about who brainwashed him. Cristian said he now knows it was Carlo. He said he wanted to trap Carlo into giving evidence that would get him freed. Evangeline was concerned for Cristian's safety now that Carlo knows that Cristian is onto him. Meanwhile, a guard met with Carlo and told him how Cris was consulting with his lawyer. Carlo had the guard bring Cristian to his cell. When Cris got there, Carlo was eating a meal and drinking a glass of wine. He asked Cristian to sit down and join him in his meal. Cristian must not have been hungry, because he punched Carlo and held a shiv to his neck. Carlo laughed and said something that made Cristian collapse again. Layla, Antonio and Jamie were on an airplane headed to Napa in search of Jessica. After Jamie fell asleep, Layla asked Antonio to fill her in on all the facts on Jessica and why she ran away. A caseworker at the health clinic took Tess into an examination room and verified that she is in fact eight weeks pregnant. The woman offered to explain to Tess what her options were, but Tess replied flatly, "There's only one option I need to hear about." Jessica talked to Tess in her head and reminded her that it's possible the baby is Antonio's, not Nash's. Tess told the caseworker that she can't deal with a child's problems. She said that terrible things happen to children sometimes and that she doesn't want to be responsible for that. Tess walked out of the clinic seemingly set on having an abortion. Bruce dropped by Nash's cabin and accepted a payment for something. Bruce then asked why Tess is interested in a guy like Nash. He suggested that maybe it was because she knew about Nash's overflowing bank account. Nash told him that Tess doesn't know anything about his money. Bruce then asked if Tess was aware of the fact that Nash's last girlfriend, Claudia Reston, was institutionalized after dating him. "Each girl winds up more messed up than the last one," he taunted. He then handed Nash a restraining order saying he can't come wthin 100 feet of the girl's family. "Are you planning on using Tess and her family the way you used Claudia and the Restons?" he asked. He then handed Nash an envelope he said contained all the info available on Jessica Buchanan. Tess came home and saw Bruce leaving. Nash assured her that they would not be seeing Bruce any longer. Nash could tell something was bothering Tess. When he asked her what it was, Tess said nothing she couldn't fix. When Nash walked away Tess called someone and made an appointment to terminate her pregnancy. Viki joined Natalie and John at a booth where they were sharing a drink. She asked Natalie to grab her some water at the bar so she could have a moment alone with John. When alone, she apologized to John for saying he would hurt her. John said the apology was unnecessary, but Viki insisted. "What I should have said was I am very happy that Natalie has moved on and that she has moved on with a man as honorable as you," Viki smiled. John squirmed. When Viki left, Evangeline rushed in and told John what Cristian said about Carlo. She said they need to get Cristian transferred out of the prison and away from Carlo. "If you don't do something, Cristian could be dead by morning," she insisted.
Thursday, October 6, 2005 Paige told David that Spencer was after Bo, but David told her that was her problem. Dorian walked to see David with his arm around Paige. David told Dorian not to be jealous of Paige. RJ got bailed out of jail and told John he'd have his revenge for making him lose custody of his granddaughter. "Boy, it takes a fight to separate blood from blood," RJ seethed. "Nobody messes with my family. Not you, not your boy Vega. Nobody." After RJ left, John grabbed Natalie and said it was high time they had a "normal" date like "normal people." They went out for a couple beers at Capricorn. Antonio thanked Layla for helping him get Jamie back. They went together to pick up Jamie from Lindsay. When they arrived, Lindsay told Antonio he couldn't have his daughter. She invited them in to look at the home she and RJ made for Jamie. She started to cry and then Jamie came out of her room to ask what was wrong. RJ walked in while Lindsay, Layla and Antonio argued in front of Jamie about where she should live. RJ told his granddaughter to go pick out some toys, and when she left he told Lindsay that the court made its ruling and they had to let Jamie go. When Jamie came back out, RJ was really sweet and told Jamie that everyone decided it was time for her to go live with her papi. He also told her not to listen to people if they say bad things about her grandfather, "because he loves you very much." Lindsay also told Jamie she loves her. "I just don't know what it's going to be like around here without you, " she cried. "I'm gonna miss you." After Antonio, Layla and Jamie left, Lindsay told RJ it was all his fault. "I lost my daughter because of you," she whimpered. RJ said that Lindsay is replacing Jen in her heart with Jamie. Lindsay apologized to RJ for blaming him. RJ vowed to get Jamie back or die trying. Antonio, Layla and Jamie showed up at Capricorn. Antonio thanked John for helping him get Jamie back. He took Layla off to the side and told her that he wanted her to join him and Jamie on a trip to California so he could look for Jessica. Layla was excited to go with him, but still puzzled as to why Antonio was so keen on finding a woman who walked out on him. "That wasn't the Jessica I know," he told her. Todd visited Viki and welcomed her back from her trip. After a few pleasantries, Viki told Todd she wanted to talk about whatever was bothering Jessica. Todd hedged, saying that it doesn't matter because she's fine now. The subject quickly switched to Margaret. Viki asked how he and Blair can function knowing she's still out there. Todd admitted to Viki that Margaret raped him and was pregnant with his baby. "Pretty ironic," he said. "The rapist got raped." Viki realized that Starr must've realized Margaret was pregnant when she saw her. Todd told Viki he had Starr keep it secret from Blair. Viki said that Blair would find out eventually once Margaret resurfaces. Todd told Viki how he attacked her and nearly strangled her to death. Viki said thank God he didn't kill her and have the death of an innocent child on his hands. Nash found Tess's pregnancy test and confronted her. "Are you pregnant?" he asked. Tess said she was late and thought she might be, but that the test said she was not. Nash seems a bit disappointed that she wasn't having a baby, but admitted that it's probably something they should plan for first. "When I look into my future I see you there," he told her. "How about you? You see me there?" Tess said she does, but that she's not quite yet ready to have kids. Nash said it was okay so long as some day it was a possibility. Tess told Nash she had to go run some errands and left for the health clinic.
Wednesday, October 5, 2005 The cover story of The Exposer, titled "Pistol Packin' Mama," rocked Blair's family and much of Llanview. Dorian was rather insulted when she realized that that incident had been kept secret from her. "Can we please make this not all about you?" Kelly said. Dorian reminded Kelly of all the horrible things Kevin had done to her and begged her not to have Kevin Buchanan's baby. Kelly was a little annoyed that Spencer had broken the sacred doctor-patient confidentiality, but Dorian assured her that she had learned that bit of truth from Kevin by mistake. Kelly and Dorian continued arguing; Dorian hated the idea of Kelly risking her life for Kevin and Kevin's baby. Then Kelly countered: Was it worth the risk to have your daughters? Point taken. Sort of. Spencer walked in on Ginger snooping around in his office. She said she was there to return the $40 loan. Spencer wasn't convinced but frankly had little or no time for her. Ginger called Spencer on his "thing for Blair." Spencer asked her if she was threatening him. "I hope not. Do you have any idea who you are dealing with?" Ginger fled and ran into Duke, who was trying to work off some steam (see first paragraph) by playing basketball. Ginger said that his guy, "a big shot," was threatening her, but added that Duke came from a family of big shots. There was a tiny flirtation and then they shot a few hoops. Duke offered to help her with her (basketball) form. He stood behind her (did I mention he was shirtless?) and the two locked eyes. (Who cared about those hoops, anyway?) The two kissed and Ginger confessed "I've wanted this" but Duke said he couldn't do this and fled the scene. Spencer assured Bo that they were able to stop the bleeding and that was good, but scared him by adding IF she (she being Nora) wakes up. Paige overheard that exchange and almost looked as worried as Bo did. The next 24 hours are the most critical, Spencer explained. Bo offered to sit by Nora and talk to her. Spencer wondered if it was his voice Nora would want to hear. Bo wondered how they would tell Matthew that his mother might not wake up. Paige urged Bo not to think that way. Bo was still ready to take the blame for Nora's condition. Rachel overheard that and rushed to her mother's side. Paige let it slip that Nora had appeared faint in their apartment and had admitted to having some tests, and Bo was clearly angry that she had not told him about it. Paige told him she had given Nora her word, but that didn't seem to matter. Spencer witnessed that tense moment and seemed to gloat a bit. Exit Bo. Enter Spencer, who took that opportunity to get some digs in. Spencer reminded her that if Nora were to go, Bo would be all hers. Matthew would be hers. Page was horrified at the thought of that and asked Spencer point blank why it was so important for her to be chief of staff. Spencer glanced toward Bo and Paige asked if this was about Bo. Meanwhile Bo and Rachel sat at Nora's side, both devastated. Rachel broke down, and said, "We need her so much." Bo added, "I wish I could have helped you." Blair begged Todd to call the bodyguards back, while Todd, cool as the proverbial cucumber, assured her there was no reason AT ALL to be worried about Margaret. Blair still couldn't believe him. She then placed a call to Dayton, Ohio directory assistance and asked for Margaret Cochran's phone number. She dialed the number and got that "disconnected" message. Blair admitted to Todd that she had just tried to call her. Todd added that she hadn't lived there in years. Tod impressed Blair when he told her he had managed to get that reporter at the Exposer in trouble for having written that story. Blair was quite impressed but added that she was still afraid for Todd and worried about what he might do. Then Spencer called to check in. Blair thought he was calling about the paper (he was, in fact) but he said no, he just had a list of therapists that perhaps they'd want to hook Starr up with. Blair said no thanks; they would be handling it as a family. Spencer was annoyed. Dorian then knocked at Spencer's door. She let him know that she had a copy of his disc (on the Buchanans) and if he didn't refuse to do Kelly's procedure, Dorian would make his life miserable by making the contents of that disc public. Meanwhile at Lantano Lake, it appears that a body has risen to the surface. Uh-oh.
Tuesday, October 4, 2005 Meanwhile that very same Cristian was being taunted by Carlo via little notes left in the law books Cristian had asked for. Cristian interrupted his law study to ask the guard to contact Evangeline. An "Okay I'll admit I'm pregnant" Tess had to deal with Nash and his bottle "of the best wine ever" plus the fact that Nash was going on and on about his love for Tess. Tess said "I just can't drink." Why not, he asked? Fade to black. Tess said she had a touch of the flu. Jessica appeared and reminded Tess that she (Tess) was irresponsible. Tess told Jessica she doesn't have the guts to be herself let alone be a mother. Ouch. Then Nash returned and Tess professed her love for him, though she really wanted to tell him about the baby. When Nash left the room, Tess called directory assistance for the number of the nearest family planning clinic. Nora's friends and family began gathering in the hospital waiting room. Hugh accompanied a very worried Marcie. Hugh teased Marcie by telling her she really just wanted to see Michael in scrubs. Marcie denied that, bantering continued. Michael told Bo that Nora was running a high fever and that they had to get the fever under control before they could proceed. Bo insisted on staying there. "That's my son's mother in there, I have to stay." Antonio told the judge he did have some additional information. The judge didn't want to wait, and Evangeline reminded him that making unsubstantiated accusations against R.J. wouldn't fly. Antonio instead admitted that R.J. was a devoted grandfather for Jamie but added that he could offer Jamie an extended family — Natalie, Carlotta, and all those other Vegas. Then R.J. reminded the judge that he has never abandoned her, alluding to the fact that Antonio had abandoned her at one time. R.J. assured Lindsay that everything would be fine. The judge was about to make her ruling when R.J. was arrested for the possession of criminal contraband. Antonio was awarded custody. R.J. started to scream. John interrogated the two men being held for questioning. He separated them, played one against the other and he finally got one of them to blurt out, "I'm not doing hard time for R.J. Gannon." Bingo! (See above paragraph.)
Monday, October 3, 2005 Viki appeared in the courtroom to support Antonio during his custody battle right when R.J. began to rag on him about his various girlfriends. Evangeline was thrilled and notified Viki she might be called to testify. R.J. smirked, "You get six witnesses for the price of one," and then questioned the whereabouts of "little Jessie." "Is she out giving lap dances?" Viki, predictably, kept her cool though made her points. "You haven't learned a single thing about love or compassion," she stated. Layla and Carlotta (newly bonded pals it appears) arrived to support the cause. Antonio introduced Layla to Viki and explained the whole living together thing. Viki cautioned them to be careful. "Smoke and mirrors aren't going to help you get Jamie back," wise Viki said. Layla introduced herself to the judge and spoke on behalf of Antonio and Jamie. The judge asked Antonio about Jessica and "how and why that relationship ended." Antonio hemmed a bit and tried to explain that he and Layla were on the same page about a lot of things regarding Jamie. The judge told Antonio and R.J. that who they lived with really wouldn't impact on her custody ruling. Not good news for Antonio who couldn't help but wonder where the heck John was with the dirt on R.J. Nora collapsed and began some rather frightening convulsions. Michael said she was having a grand mal seizure. The only good thing was that she was in a hospital. Spencer (doctor of all things serious) explained that Nora had a previously undiagnosed brain aneurysm. Michael painted a rather bleak picture and announced that Nora was being prepped for emergency surgery. Spencer said that if she hadn't been at the hospital, she'd be dead already. Spencer suggested Bo "keep a good thought" and notify her family. Bo then pulled out his cell phone and began dialing, starting with Viki. Viki arrived (she had to leave the courtroom, not good, see previous paragraph) and assured Bo that it wasn't his fault. He called Rachel. Cristian flashbacked to when he was brainwashed on the ship. He remembered a certain phrase "when presented with a certain opportunity you will know what to do." Carlo, who was taking a break from his library duties, was hovering by Cristian's (Mr. Doe to him) cell. When Carlo finished that certain phrase for Cristian, Cristian realized the men on the ship were working for Carlo. Carlo onlly laughed at "Mr. Doe"and "this fantastic tale of your's" when Cristian asked Carlo if he was behind his brainwashing. With that little insight Cristian vowed to find out if Carlo was behind his brainwashing and the murder of Tico Santi. Carlo pushed his book cart and muttered that Cristian again would be his puppet. Rex asked John if he was on the "let's get stuff on R.J." case, though John appeared less eager than Rex. Rex asked John why he had a drawing of Natalie (by Cristian) on his desk. Natalie accused Evangeline of leaving the drawing to cause problems between her and John. Natalie retrieved the sketch and looked wistfully at it and then at John. A bit later, two men were brought in for questioning. Rex hoped one of them would dish the dirt on R.J. to help Antonio win custody of Jamie.
