Spencer wouldn't let Natalie leave. "Why would you think I would hurt Blair?" he barked. Natalie tried to cover and said she was concerned about Blair. Spencer sincerely doubted that and wouldn't stop pressing Natalie for details. Spencer wondered what people were saying about him. Spencer asked Natalie what Blair and John were talking about the times he saw them together. Natalie left and ran to the police department. "I think I screwed things up," she blurted to John. "I think I may have tipped off Spencer." When Blair wouldn't answer Spencer's calls he went to find her.

Blair told Todd that she was sleeping with Spencer to help him (Todd). "Do you believe me?" Todd replied, "Yes, I do." Blair explained the whole scenario regarding the safe deposit box key. Blair wanted Todd to look her in the eye and "tell me that you love me again." Todd didn't think he could and Blair began to cry. "I really did try to help," she wept and then she and Todd began kissing passionately. Clothes started to come off.

Bruce continued to taunt Adriana, who refused to eat and be friendly to him. Adriana wanted proof that the stalking was Dorian's idea. David popped in at Dorian's to distract her, allowing Rex to snoop around Dorian's house and eavesdrop. Dorian denied any wrongdoing regarding Adriana. "I know how you like to protect your girls," said David. Dorian thought it was hurtful that David would suggest she break up Adriana and Rex. "You are a liar," Rex said as he burst in. Dorian was not amused and was furious with David. Rex demanded the name of the man she hired to stalk Adriana. Dorian wasn't about to give up anything. David left, though Rex wasn't about to leave. In fact, Rex picked up the phone when Adriana was allowed to call home.

John was surprised to hear that Dr. Snyder (the same drunken doctor who was in the operating room when his father died) was also under investigation for child pornography. Antonio found this out in his new/old job as cop. John realized that this must be what Spencer was holding over Snyder. Antonio searched Snyder's apartment and found the tape called "Tess." Jessica came to the apartment and faced Snyder. "This tape tore me in half, literally." Jessica was also horrified to see a photo of little Jessica/Tess on his computer.

Hugh came in with the actual safe deposit box. John read a letter that Spencer had written to Todd and Margaret's child. Among many things, Spencer suggested he not try to find his father because he was a bad man. A handwriting expert confirmed that Spencer had written that letter.

Evangeline paid her old beau John a visit. "I'm trying to talk less and feel more," she admitted, and added that she was falling in love with Cristian. "He's a lucky guy," John said. "You made me a better person." John admitted responsibility for their past problems; it was a nice moment of closure. Evangeline was happy that John was close to finding his father's killer and hoped it would give him peace.

Rex enlisted David's help to locate Adriana. Rex was convinced she hadn't sent that text message wanting to break up with him. David agreed. Cramer women, he's found, like to break up face-to-face.

Blair and Todd argued outside of Starr's hospital room. "Tell me what's going on with you right now," Todd demanded. Their argument ended when Starr fell out of bed. Blair bought Starr's explanation but Todd just smirked. Todd brought Blair to the penthouse and asked Blair to explain her relationship with Spencer. Todd clearly didn't understand why Blair was going to marry Spencer. "Why? Why?" he yelled. "Because I love him," Blair yelled back. But then her cell phone rang and it was John McBain, which really piqued Todd's interest. Todd began to figure things out. Blair wouldn't cop to it but apologized again for not believing in him. Blair reminded him that they can't go back to what they had. Blair wanted to leave for the hospital, as she didn't want to be with alone with him." "Why are you lying to me?" Todd countered strongly and insisted Blair look him in the eyes. She couldn't. Todd pushed her to tell him the truth. "What are you doing with Spencer? What are you doing with the cops?" Todd threatened to go to Spencer. "I have been sleeping with Spencer to help you, Todd," Blair said as her eyes filled with tears.

David told Spencer that John had spent the evening interrogating him. "Don't you want to know what he asked?" David pushed. "McBain has evidence," David teased. "It's just a matter of time until Blair goes back to Todd...you are the most hateful person I know. I don't care what happens to you. You are no longer my brother," concluded David as he stormed out the door.

In Spencer's safe deposit box, Hugh found the photo of Spencer, Paige and Margaret. He happily called John. John called Natalie, who happened to be standing next to Spencer giving him a hard time. John couldn't get a hold of Blair, which concerned Natalie, who immediately wondered if Spencer had hurt Blair.

Evangeline and Cristian basked in the afterglow of a night of passion. Evangeline asked about the future, but Cris balked, "not now." That upset Evangeline almost enough to leave, but Cris said he wanted to work hard as a boxer and make a name for himself that way. He wanted to go from Cris Vega, ex-con to Cris Vega, contender. Cris continued to explain his reasons for boxing — "not getting beaten, never again." Evangeline saw the similarities in her legal career, of never wanting to be beaten. The two began kissing and made love again. Cris and Evangeline then headed to the gym where she helped him work out.

Todd spent the night less romantically, on the coach in Starr's hospital room. After asking his daughter a few questions, Todd made it clear that he was on to her scam. Starr denied it: "Dad, you are giving me way to much credit." "The jig is up, kid," Todd said. Starr admitted she had been faking. Starr assured Todd she was on his side, "but you have to admit Dad, you have screwed up in the past." Todd agreed. Blair arrived and Todd immediately pulled her outside. Todd asked Blair if she'd changed her mind about marrying Spencer and asked her where her engagement ring was. Blair explained they were supposed to pretend they (she and Todd) were together. Todd immediately saw through the Blair/Spencer engagement. "What are you really up to?" he asked his ex-wife.

Earlier, Blair woke up in Spencer's arms and gazed at her brand new engagement ring. Spencer reminded Blair how much she had done for him. Spencer remembered the first moment he saw Blair and that he would do whatever it took to have her in his life. Blair asked for specifics. What exactly had he done, anyway? John called Blair but she clearly couldn't talk. Todd called Blair and asked her to come to the hospital. David brought Spencer's breakfast to him. "It's all falling apart, you know. Tick-tock, Doc."

John had David in for questioning. John reminded David that he needed more evidence to get a search warrant to search Spencer's safe deposit box. David said again he had told John everything he remembered from the time in Thailand. David left. John couldn't tell Hugh the truth (that he'd broken into Spencer's safe deposit box). Hugh needed one shred of evidence and voilá! Nora showed up. She apparently knew the judge they needed the warrant from. "How would you feel about calling in that marker?" John asked. Hugh showed up with great news for John and Natalie: they had a search warrant. "Thank Nora; it's great to have her back," smiled Hugh. Even though John was happy about the search warrant, Natalie wondered if John would ever rest if they couldn't get Spencer on shooting his father.

Bruce brought a chained-to-the-wall Adriana some breakfast. Bruce called Dorian for ransom, but she refused, "not until I talk to my daughter." Bruce refused. Dorian didn't think she could get such a large amount of money together as quickly as Bruce wanted. Bruce told Adriana he had been paid to make it appear that she was being stalked. Adriana couldn't imagine who would hire someone to stalk her and then Bruce mentioned her mother. Adriana couldn't believe what Bruce was telling her, that Dorian was behind it. "She wouldn't have me kidnapped." Bruce said Adriana was right about that; the situation had now changed a bit. Bruce needed money, ransom money.

Rex saw Antonio at the police station and asked him to talk to him about his sister. Rex thought Antonio could help him find her. Rex thought Dorian knew more than she was telling. Antonio urged him to keep asking around. Rex said if she didn't want to be with him that was fine as long as "she's okay." Rex called Dorian but she didn't pick up. Bruce forced Adriana to sent Rex an "I hate you" e-mail.

Kelly arrived at a clinic (location unknown) when she thought she was having a miscarriage. She begged for a doctor. "I need to see the doctor before I lose my baby."

Kevin told Viki that Kelly had left Llanview. Viki wondered if Kevin had forgiven Kelly (for getting pregnant by Duke) , but Kevin said he could not do that yet. Kevin told his mother that he would never be able to forget that Kelly's baby was a reminder of "the worst day of my life," but in the same breath wondered if maybe he should have just married her. Kelly called Kevin and told him she was at a clinic. "I suddenly felt so all alone. I just want to have a healthy baby." However the sweet (okay maybe it was just civil) conversation immediately turned in to an argument. Kelly dropped her phone and Kevin threw his against the door. Viki reentered the room to find the phone in pieces. The doctor showed up and promised they'd have news on her baby. "Was there anyone they could call?" "No," Kelly replied sadly, "no one." The doctor took blood and said she'd let Kelly listen to her baby's heartbeat. Kelly vowed she would stay on bed rest if she had to. Kevin told his mother she was spotting. Viki assured her son that wasn't cause for alarm. Kevin was adamant to find her. Viki thought perhaps Bo should look for her as Kevin would most likely just scare Kelly away.

Cris and Evangeline began to make love at his studio but Evangeline began hemming and hawing, talking about her past love for John. She soon came to her senses, however, and she and Cris started over by candlelight. Then Cris stopped. "Wait, hold that thought," he said. He returned with more candles, and clothes came off, and well, you all know the rest.

Langston paid yet another visit to Starr with news of what happened at the hospital gala, namely that Blair got engaged to Spencer and Todd made a scene. Starr flipped and pushed her tray on the floor. Starr quickly apologized but assured Langston the amnesia stunt was still on. Blair and Spencer paid Starr a visit in her hospital room, with news. "We have something to tell you, something important." Starr played dumb and panicked. "Is Dad dead?" Todd arrived and told Spencer to dispense. Starr asked if her parents would stay with her tonight.

David complimented Todd on his "Spencer-set-me-up" speech. Todd was mesmerized by Spencer and Blair's Hollywood-style kiss. Blair stopped the kiss and looked awkwardly at a smirking Todd. Spencer went away to wipe the lipstick off his face as Blair reattached the safe deposit key to Spencer's key chain. Todd tenderly asked Blair, again, why she hadn't had faith in him. Blair asked Todd to just go home. Blair apologized, yet again. Todd thought they should tell Starr before she hears it from someone else. Blair made eye contact with John and Natalie, who just reentered the room, which Todd immediately questioned. Spencer did his best to get to Blair. David wondered if Spencer had proposed to Blair to stick it to Todd instead of showing the woman he loves that he loves her.

Natalie and John hurried to clean up Spencer's safe deposit box as someone began knocking on the door. It turned out to be one of John's men. Natalie and John came across a photo of Margaret, the baby and Paige. Eureka! Natalie and John immediately showed Paige and David the photo they had seen in the safe deposit box, that was proof that Spencer knew Margaret was alive after she was declared dead. John told them they needed a warrant and asked Paige to retell her story to him.

Langston brought Starr more information on how to fake amnesia and warned her friend that it might not be such a great idea to tussle with Spencer. Starr assured her that nothing would be worse than having to live under the same roof as Spencer and that she would see her parents remarried if it was the last thing she did.

Things got very dramatic at the Hospital Benefit. Spencer proposed to Blair in front of the full audience and Blair was compelled to say yes. Viki and Evangeline ran to find Todd to make sure he didn't do anything rash. Of course he did. He cleared a table and jumped on top of it. He told everyone that Spencer had set him up and went on to refer to Blair as Spencer's slut. Though Spencer denied those accusations, David and Paige immediately backed up Todd's claims.

Evangeline and Cris eventually left the party and went to Cris' place.

Blair managed to get Spencer's safe deposit box key to John and Natalie, who immediately left to go to the bank. It appeared that the bank was about to close, but Natalie threw the words "my grandfather Asa Buchanan" around so the bank manager let them into the safe deposit room. They were looking in the box as the episode ended.

Nash reminded Claudia that there would only be one woman for him — Tess — and then decided to call her and see how little Bree was doing. When Jessica told him Bree appeared to have a slight fever, Nash rushed over. He was clearly more interested in his daughter than the hospital event (or Claudia, for that matter).

Michael and Marcie wheeled Nora into the gala. A tipsy Lindsay pointed out that Nora's dress was about two years old. Lindsay grabbed Michael and began to kiss him. Marcie got upset. An enraged RJ countered by grabbing Nora and kissing her.

2005 recaps
