OLTL Recaps Week of Oct. 23, 2006

Friday, October 27, 2006
Kevin rushed Kelly to the hospital with contractions. Michael had her wheeled into a room for tests. Kevin told Michael that Kelly was only 24 weeks pregnant. Michael said that if the contractions don't stop that the baby will be born that night and because it's so early, will have a low chance for survival. Kevin sat by Kelly's side and held her hand as she struggled through early labor.

Clint called the Buchanan family from the hospital waiting room to tell them about Kelly. Dorian walked in and told Clint he seemingly called everyone except for her.

Spencer's lawyer dropped by his cell to tell him that Evangeline is taking over the case. The lawyer told Spencer that Vangie is "no puppy dog." Later, Paige dropped by to chew out Spencer for framing her. She explained how Nora found out that she wasn't really that drunk the night Thomas McBain was shot. She promised Spencer that Nora was all over the case and was going to add to his legal woes. She told Spencer that if he can help save Kelly that he needs to step up and do it. Spencer said that would only be possible if he could examine her himself. He told Paige to get him out of jail. Paige called Bo to tell him that Spencer claims he can save Kelly's baby if he is allowed to examine her.

Cristian told Evangeline that he'd do his best to support her while she works on the case. He also said he was upset about having to figure out what to do with his life now that his hurt hand is keeping him from boxing and possibly painting.

Evangeline went to visit "Hugh." She told him that she's the new A.D.A. "It's me," Hugh said. Evangeline went to get a nurse. After she left, "Hugh" said, "Natalie."

Starr was mortified when her parents showed up at the dance (Todd dressed as death, and Blair as a sexy kitty). Cole told them they were wearing nice costumes and asked Starr to dance. Todd kept a close eye on them as they danced and talked a little football with the varsity coach. Todd told Blair that he heard that they didn't need any more chaperones at the dance, as Blair had said. Blair admitted she made it up. Todd was pissed that Blair was using Starr to get to him. Blair physically dragged Todd out to the dance floor.

Starr kept going on about how lame it was that her parents were there. Cole told her to shut up for a minute so he could tell her how cute she looks in her costume. Cole said he doesn't think Todd's too crazy about him, but that it was probably just a typical dad thing. He told Starr Todd called him a punk at the coffee shop.

Britney showed up (dressed as an angel) and was chomping at the bit as she watched Starr dance with Cole. Later, a slide show was shown revealing embarrassing things about Starr's family (like her father's execution and rape trial). Cole announced to everyone that it had to have been Britney who made the slideshow. A teacher marched Britney and her cohorts off. Todd told Blair that Cole was "all right." Blair commented that Cole's parents raised a good kid.

Vincent stopped kissing Natalie. He told her she's hot, but that he didn't intend to kiss her. Natalie resumed the sobbing and then answered, "John's really gone, and I'm never gonna see him again." Natalie told Vincent not to be so stupid and allow himself to lose Layla. Vincent admitted that he did set up Cristian and said Layla won't forgive him. He said he did it for the money but that he immediately felt bad about it and that there's nothing he can do about it now. She told him to get the hell of her rooftop and stormed off.

Jessica, Adriana and Kelly went back to Llanfair after dress shopping. They walked in on Natalie trying on Jessica's veil. She took it off and pretended like everything was okay, but later had a fantasy about marrying John and blurted out "NO!" when he disappeared. The other girls were concerned by this bout of dementia and asked Nat if she was really okay. Natalie completely broke down and took off. Jessica told Kelly she should have postponed the wedding, but Kelly said it'll be okay if they can all stop pitying Natalie. Jessica informed Adriana and Kelly that Nash is in the wedding because Antonio asked him. Jess noted that with Tess gone for good, her relationship with Nash is different. When asked how different, she shrugged, "I dunno, just different."

Kevin dropped by Llanview and told Kelly she looked beautiful. Kelly was happy, but then she panicked and said there was something wrong with the baby.

Nash showed up at the tuxedo fitting. Clint asked him what he gets out of being in the wedding and Nash replied that he's doing it for Bree. Nash assured Clint he would be a guest at the wedding and that is all. Clint said he wishes he believed that. Nash claimed that he realizes Tess is gone forever.

Antonio handed Cristian a list of the companies that manufacture the drug which was used on him in the fixed fight and told him to get Rex to help track it back to Vincent. Antonio mentioned to Cristian that maybe soon he'll be the best man at Cristian's wedding. Cris told Antonio he and Evangeline haven't talked about the future much, "but maybe it's about time we did."

Todd sat down with Evangeline, who said she was so busy working on the Spencer case she hasn't had time to buy a wedding dress. Todd asked if she was getting married to Cristian, and Evangeline said no, she meant for Jessica's wedding. She added that it's too soon for her to be marrying Cristian. She switched the subject to Todd's future with Blair. Todd said things are over, but Evangeline bet him two dinners that he'd wind up back with Blair. Todd shook on the wager. Evangeline told Todd that if Spencer is found guilty for Thomas McBain's murder, he'll probably never stand trial for what he did to Margaret Cochran or her baby. Todd said it's fine, so long as he gets what's coming to him.

Vincent ran into Layla and said he wanted to talk. Layla responded that all she wants from him is the truth. Vincent wouldn't admit he set Cristian up and then gave a sob story about how hard things have been on him and how he fights dirty when he has to. "I'm a different man now," he insisted. "Sorry," Layla answered as she walked away. "It's over." Layla went to talk to Evangeline about Vincent. Evangeline said she needs to decide if Vincent has crossed a line. Cristian came by and wanted to talk about the future with Evangeline. Layla left when they got all kissy, quipping that she was afraid she would go into insulin shock.

Natalie was walking the streets aimlessly. She ran up to a stranger, who looked like John from behind, grabbed him and said, "John!" He turned around and Natalie snapped back to reality. Vincent saw the whole thing happen. He followed Natalie up to the roof, where the sobbing redhead seemed to start hyperventilating. She turned and without even taking a moment to see who was standing next to her planted a big kiss on Vincent.

Blair heard Starr talking to Langston about a "date" with Cole. Starr denied that she had an actual date. Blair offered to help Starr find a costume for the Halloween dance. Blair suggested that they tweak a kitty cat costume and pointed out a photo from Craze to show how sexy it could be. They had a lot of fun putting it together. Blair asked Starr if she is going to start forgiving her now. Starr said it hurt that Blair didn't believe in Todd or her, but that she understands why she did it and isn't angry any more. Blair was very happy to hear it. When Starr went upstairs to change, Blair saw an invitation to the dance and took notice that it read "Chaperones Needed."

Some high school football player guy walked up to Cole and pointed out that Todd was in the coffee shop with them. He said to be careful dating Todd's daughter because Todd is "Gangsta." The guy also said that their team was sure to win the next game with Cole in the lineup. Cole commented on the pressure being put on him. "You're the top-rated wide received in the division," the guy told him. "You ought to start acting like it." He offered Cole some unorthodox help with his homework, but Cole said he could handle it himself. Todd walked by on his way out and Cole tried to introduce himself, but Todd dismissed him, saying, "Whatever you're selling, kid, I ain't buying."

Starr put on the costume went out to meet Cole. She ran into him in the hall. He was dressed as a pirate. He asked to go inside and talk to Starr's parents, but she rushed him out and narrowly missed Todd, who had just come home after they left. He went inside and Blair told him she wanted to chaperone the Halloween dance.

Dorian continued her tirade against Viki. Clint walked in and told Dorian to relax. Dorian tattled to Clint that Viki was poisoning Adriana against her, but Viki denied it. Clint informed the ladies that David told him about Dorian's plan to spend the evening with him and how Adriana went and ruined it. Viki warned Dorian if she doesn't own up to what she did to Adriana that she will lose her daughter forever. Dorian was defensive. Viki told Dorian, "I have had it with your lunacy," and walked out of the coffee shop. Clint said he was walking out, too, but Dorian stopped him and said she wanted to explain about the romantic dinner she planned for them. Clint said fine, but suggested (for some reason) that they go somewhere else to talk. They went back to La Boulaie and Dorian noted that she knew how upset Clint would be after Spencer claimed that he is a Buchanan. Dorian explained that she planned the dinner to offer him support. Clint replied he's giving up trying to get inside of Dorian's head and munched on a cookie. When Dorian asked him to have dinner with her, he said he'd think about it.

Marcie sat at "Hugh's" bedside and talked about Tommy. She asked if he could hear her and he nodded and tried to say her name. Michael came in and Marcie told him that she could swear "Hugh" said her name. Michael couldn't get him to move again, though. Michael started talking and got upset that John wouldn't be around to see Spencer go down for murdering their father. "Hugh" began moaning and quietly said "Michael, it's me."

Rex went to Bo's office and asked him for a list of registered owners for the make and model he got from druggy Mick. He recounted how someone saw Spencer get into the car with Todd's kid, hand him over, then exit as the car drove off. Bo said he'd see what he can do. Before he left, Rex asked Bo about Spencer's claim to be a Buchanan. Bo pointed out that if it's true, he will be asked to testify against his half brother.

Natalie had flashbacks of John while working at the police station. Antonio saw Natalie walking around like a zombie and said it's too soon for her to be back at the station and that John would want and expect her to take time to heal. Natalie told him he was wrong, but Rex walked up behind her and said no, he's not. "Go home, Natalie," Rex advised. Natalie stormed off to her desk and stared at a photo of herself and John. Rex followed her and recalled that when Jen died, the first couple weeks were unbearable. He said he felt guilty, thinking he could've done something. Natalie told him she keeps thinking she shouldn't have let John to go his father's grave alone. Rex pointed out that if she'd gone with him, she would also be dead. "I'm not about to lose you," he said. Natalie hugged him and admitted that he and Antonio were right and that she shouldn't have come to work. She went home and told Viki that she kept seeing John all over the office and cried on her shoulder. Viki comforted her and said to start healing maybe she should remove the engagement ring. Natalie asked Viki why she hasn't taken off her ring from Ben. Viki said she didn't know and that Ben would want her to get on with her life. She told Natalie they should both take off their rings. Natalie said she can't, so Viki said she'd go first. She took off her ring and then a weepy Natalie did the same.

Bo and Nora went to the hospital to talk to Paige. Nora questioned if Paige was really as drunk as she'd been led to believe on the night she worked on Thomas McBain. Nora said she talked to the guy Spencer paid to take the fall for her and found out that she wasn't really responsible for his death that night and that Thomas was fine when he went into recovery after surgery. She said it wasn't until later, after Spencer went in and removed his sutures, that he died, and that Spencer then paid the guy to cover for him.

Shirtless David crawled out of bed around noontime, went downstairs and told Dorian he got up early to "get a jump on things." Dorian told him she hopes he means a jump on finding a place to live because he is ruining her chances of getting Clint back. David changed the subject to bilking Asa's billions through his connection with David. He said maybe he'd just kill Spencer and Dorian flipped out on him and tossed water in his face for even suggesting it. She then told David about her date with Clint and how Adriana ruined it by locking her in a closet and fixing him up with Viki. When David asked how Dorian felt about Clint, she said she thinks she's falling in love with him. David tossed a pitcher of water in her face.

Renee handed Asa a newspaper with a front-page story about his being Spencer's father and told him he had some explaining to do. "That bastard is no Buchanan," Asa said. Renee pulled out the photo of Emma and said that she used to be one of her best girls back in her "Nevada days." She told Asa she always wondered what he was doing with her, and now she knows — having an affair. Asa again denied it, and Clint said a DNA test would uncover the truth. Renee said either Asa takes the test or she's walking out on him. Asa agreed to the DNA test. David came by and asked to talk to Clint. They walked into another room and David told him how Dorian tried to meet him the night before to apologize but that Adriana stopped her. He told Clint Dorian didn't send him, and that actually, she wouldn't even like to hear that he came by at all, but that he wanted him to know.

Starr asked Cole to go to the dance with her but he said he can't because he already told Britney he'd go with her. After Cole left, Britney walked over to Starr and said, "Like he'd ever go out with you when he can have me." Starr said that the teacher forbid her from attending the dance, but Britney said her dad would work something out. Cole walked up and told Britney he heard that she can't go to the dance and then turned and told Starr he'd go with her instead. Britney was more than a little peeved.

Adriana told Rex she didn't feel bad about locking Dorian in the closet, but Rex said he knows her too well to believe that. Rex then discovered he liked foam in his coffee drinks. Adriana saw Viki and ran over to talk to her. She mentioned how Clint broke up with Dorian and added, "You two just seem like you would be so perfect together." Viki realized Adriana was the one who lured her and Clint to Capricorn. Adriana admitted it was her and said she also locked Dorian in a closet. Viki warned Adriana about becoming obsessed with getting revenge. Viki told Adriana to just focus on being with Rex. Adriana gave her a hug. Dorian walked in and saw the two of them having a nice moment together. Adriana walked away without even acknowledging her mother's presence. Dorian told Viki to stay away from Adriana and called her an "interfering, condescending bitch."

Rex ran into Paige and asked her what she knows about Todd's kid. Paige said she doesn't have any info because Spencer never told her. She said she doesn't think Spencer is capable of killing a baby, but that she really doesn't know. She promised to tell him if she heard anything useful.

Rex went to interview his druggy friend Mick again. He handed him a cup full of money and Mitch gave him a description of the car he saw Spencer put a baby into.

Todd walked into his office and found Blair sitting at his desk. She said she was working there again. Todd called security to have her booted, but Blair unplugged the phone. She told Todd that they should work together to screw over Spencer using the newspaper. Todd said that was a good idea, but still told Blair to get the hell out of his office. Blair continued to sell Todd on her working with him again. Todd asked if it would make any difference if he told her to buzz off, and Blair said no. Todd gave in and said fine, she has a job there.

Bo went to visit Spencer in jail and asked him what proof he has that he's a Buchanan. Spencer said his mother's word. Bo said he isn't as trusting of Spencer's word and asked for a DNA sample. Spencer said fine. Bo headed back to Asa's and told the Buchanan boys that he's sending off the samples and that they should know the results in 24 hours.

Paige went to see Spencer. She asked if he's really Asa's son and he said yes. She then said if he is Asa's son that he grew up bitter thinking his dad didn't love him and asked him to not do that to Todd's son. Spencer pointed out how she didn't tell him Hugh was his son and then said that Todd will live with the pain of not knowing his son like he'll live with the pain of losing Blair.

Starr and Langston shared a coffee and talked about Starr's growing friendship with Cole. Cole walked in and Britney playfully hopped on his back. But when Cole saw Starr he waved at her and walked away from Britney. Britney sauntered over to Starr to ask her if she's going to the Backwards dance. Starr said she doubted it. Britney pointed out that for this dance, the girl asks the boy.

Marcie tried on different outfits in preparation for a presentation she was doing for a high school English class. Michael encouraged her by saying she looked beautiful. "You look too good," he said. "Stay away from those high school boys." After Marcie left, Michael took Tommy out for a bite to eat. At the school, Marcie saw that Starr (along with Langston and Britney) was in the class she was speaking to. Marcie started talking to the class about writing. Britney blurted out that Starr was an "ugly loser." Starr retorted that Britney was a "total bitch." The teacher told them both that they'll have time to sort things out in a week's detention. When Marcie asked the students if they picked a topic for their upcoming term paper, Britney said she might choose rape as her topic and then suggested aloud that she could speak with Todd, seeing as he was accused of rape. The teacher told Britney that she will not be allowed to attend the Halloween dance. After class, Langston told Starr that to get back at Britney she should ask Cole to the dance. Starr approached Cole in the hall and said she wanted to ask him something.

Evangeline and Nora met to go over the case against Spencer. Nora asked Evangeline to take over prosecuting the case. She said she wasn't yet 100 percent recovered and that it's too important a case for her to cut her teeth on. Spencer's lawyer walked over to the ladies and asked Nora how her head was doing. Evangeline asked the lawyer how he can possibly represent a monster like Spencer. "Be warned, D.A. Hanen," he told Nora. "I don't play nice, even with the physically challenged." Evangeline got up in the lawyer's face, questioning his integrity. He made a couple of sexist comments, which angered both Nora and Vangie. Michael walked in to hear the lawyer saying that Spencer was going to walk and said, "No way in hell. Not if I have anything to say about it." The lawyer got scared off and left. Michael told Evangeline that she should take on the case. He even suggested that John would've liked to see it. Later, Cristian came by and Evangeline told him how Nora asked her to take the case. Cris said she should. Evangeline called Nora on her cell and said she'd take the case.

Marcie went home and told Michael about the bullies picking on Starr. She remembered her own tough high school days and hoped that Tommy never has to deal with that type of thing.

Antonio asked Cristian if he thinks it was sticking it to Nash to ask him to be in the wedding. Cristian was shocked to hear that Antonio even asked Nash. Antonio told Cristian that he did it for Bree. "I don't want her growing up with a drunk for a father," he said. Cristian asked how he could ask some "drunk" who took a swing at his own brother to be in his wedding without asking his brother to be his best man. Antonio then did ask him and Cristian said "no," but he was only teasing. They shared a very manly, back-slapping embrace.

Jessica dropped by the winery to talk to a shirtless Nash. She asked him to not be in her wedding because it makes her uncomfortable. Nash asked Jessica if it would be too confusing for her if he were at the altar beside her. Jessica said, no, she is marrying Antonio because she is totally and completely in love with him. Nash said if it means that much to her he'll decline Antonio's offer, but he said that maybe Jessica shouldn't be marrying anyone until she better sorts out the Tess and Jessica parts of her. Jessica admitted that she's afraid that Tess will come out some day the moment she lets her guard down. Nash said that is what he wants because he loves Tess. "Please, find something else to do the day I marry Nash — I mean Antonio," Jessica said. She then said fine, that Nash can feel free to attend, but that he better not cause any disruptions. Before she left she looked around the winery and said that it is really coming together. Jessica went home and Antonio told her that he asked Cristian to be his best man. Jessica gave Antonio a hug but flashed back to talking to Nash.
