OLTL Recaps Week of December 4, 2006

At the docks, a man mistaking Jessica for Tess tried to grope her. "I am
not Tess!" Jessica exclaimed, shoving him away. Things got worse when his
pal joined in, offering, "Two for one." A quick-thinking Jessica pretended
to be Tess and tricked one into handing over his cell phone. She then called
Antonio, who was conveniently hanging out with Nash. The guys were off to
the rescue! One tried to attack Nash with a wooden beam, but Antonio punched
him in the face before he could do any harm. Jess then bashed the other thug
over the head with a bottle.
Natalie kept vigil by a bandaged John's hospital bed as he awakened from
surgery. They joked about how much she liked seeing him in bandages. The
light mood was ruined when Vincent stopped by and Nat told him in private
that their friendship needs to be "on hold." Vincent replied that he
understands, then told John he's there if John needs anything. "We need to
talk about Natalie," John stated, making it clear that he's back in the
picture. "Sorry, John, but I can't make any promises," Vincent said to
himself.
At the hospital, Dorian urged an ill Blair to worry about herself and not
Todd. Blair reminded her aunt that Todd's the mother of her children and
that she and Todd used to be a team. Dorian understood her desire to have
her family back, but insisted Blair see a doctor to find out what's wrong
with her.
Rex was determined to keep the truth that the McBains adopted Todd's son and
went to the hospital to snatch a particular file. Adriana told Michael she's
sorry to hear the judge's ruling about Spencer. Dorian ran into them and
informed Adriana that Blair is ill. Adriana temporarily dropped her feud
with her mom to join in on supporting Blair. However, she turned down
Dorian's offer to start planning for how they'll care for Jack and Starr's
kids if Blair dies. Rex emerged from the records room with the file, but
Dorian caught him in the act. Dorian delighted in having the upper hand.
Adriana grudgingly thanked her for telling her about Blair. Blair,
meanwhile, got the news that she's pregnant. Dorian wondered if the baby is
Todd's or Spencer's.... Rex later called Michael and told him he got the
file on Tommy's birth parents.
Bo entered his office and was surprised to see his son waiting with take-out
for him. Bo was grateful for the chance to salvage his bad day and made a
special toast. After, Matthew stated that Bo would be a lot happier if he
were married. Matthew asked why he isn't marrying Paige. Bo explained that
he wants to give Paige time to grieve over Hugh's death.
Starr complained to Viki that her family can't catch a break and that her
parents are never going to get together. Viki encouraged her to remain
optimistic. Starr admitted to being confused over what to feel after
meeting Todd's rape victim, Marty, in person. Viki said that Todd is still
paying for the crime. Starr wasn't sure what to say to him, so Viki
suggested she tell Todd she loves him.
The cop car carrying Spencer had to stop suddenly on the road, due to an unseen
obstacle. Meanwhile, an armed Todd hid in the bushes. They were shocked when
a bullet hit the window. When the cops emerged, a masked Todd tackled them
to the ground and took over driving the van. "I love to drive!" Todd
gleefully shouted out, as he sang a Christmas tune. Spencer
wanted to know where they were going. "You'll understand when we get there,"
Todd replied.

The judge asked Spencer to rise and told him that although he had previously ruled him fit to stand trial, he was now thinking of changing his mind after hearing about his recent behavior in the jail cell (aka the head bashing and blood painting). Spencer had a fit, yelling to the judge that he is completely sane, but seeming all the more insane from having the tantrum. The judge called Marty back to the stand to explain to the court what she saw in Spencer's cell. She explained the incident and concluded that in her professional opinion Spencer's sanity is rapidly declining and he is unfit to stand trial. Blair stood up to curse out Spencer and Marty a few times, but Todd sat calmly throughout the entire ordeal. The judge dismissed Marty and then ruled Spencer mentally unable to defend himself. "I have no choice but to declare a mistrial," he said, sentencing Spencer to a mental health facility until he is deemed competent to stand trial. After court was adjourned, Nora pointed out to Evangeline and Cristian that Spencer didn't beat the case, just postponed it. She also said the facility will be no picnic for him and guessed that Spencer would beg the judge to let him out within a week.
Blair told Todd she was going to the doctor. Todd asked Dorian to take Blair because he had something he had to tend to. Blair warned Todd to not do anything stupid as she and Dorian left. Spencer drooled and screamed as Todd antagonized him. The guards carried Spencer away. Todd left, went into a safe and pulled out a gun. "All right, Spencer," he said to himself. "Say hello to Mr. nine-millimeter."
Blair told Dorian that Todd's calmness means he's up to something and worried that whatever it was would backfire.
Marty met up with Cole. He asked his mother if she had merely convinced herself that Spencer was crazy because she really wanted to get revenge on Todd. Marty said after a lot of soul-searching she can honestly say that the past did not influence her decision.
John told the plastic surgeon he would not go under for surgery until he hears the verdict at Spencer's trial. The doctor said he'd try to reschedule. Natalie flipped on the news and the two watched the update about he judge's ruling Spencer unfit to stand trial. Later, Bo caught Natalie alone outside of John's room and the two both worried about what the judge's decision would to do John.
Jessica took a break from holiday shopping to grab a cup of hot chocolate at Rodi's. Reg eyed her from the bar with a creepy smirk on his face. He walked over and asked Jessica if she's being careful to keep her "other life" from her husband. Jessica said she didn't know what he meant, and Reg answered, "Sure you do — Tess." Reg alluded to a sexual past between them. Jessica got up to walk away but Reg blocked her and suggested they go get a room somewhere. He started touching Jessica but backed off when she threatened to call her husband, the cop. Reg went back to the bar and said to himself, "Hard-to-get is my favorite game."
Antonio was helping Nash at the winery when Jessica came by. Antonio noticed she was tense so he sent her off to get a massage. Just outside the winery door, Reg grabbed Jessica and dragged her off. She dropped her purse.

Michael told Marcie he thinks Blair's headaches are probably just stress-related, not a tumor. He hoped that good news at the Spencer trial would just clear them up for Blair. Starr and Cole overheard Michael and Marcie talking about Marty testifying on Spencer's behalf. Starr expressed her disgust to Cole, who said his mom was a great doctor who wouldn't lie. Later, Starr told Cole she was going to ditch class and go to the trial, but Marcie overheard and told her she would be staying at school.
Dorian told Clint she's trying to change and that she only did what she did to Adriana out of love. "I almost believe you," Clint said.
Spencer sat weeping in his cell. Bo dropped by to tell him that the jury seems to be moving along fast and that "usually a quick verdict is guilty." Spencer said he isn't worried because he never pays for his sins.
Blair told Todd she's trying to make amends for her past transgressions. She then opened up the door and Jack ran in yelling "Dad" and hugged Todd. He told Todd he loved him and said he changed his mind about being angry after speaking to Blair.
Marty bumped into Evangeline and spilled her drink all over her. Evangeline hinted that Marty did it on purpose, but Marty denied it. Nora approached Marty and the two talked about men. Nora said she'd sworn off men and Marty said she'll never find anyone now that Patrick is gone.
Cole called Marty to ask about her testimony. Marty said she was doing the right thing and asked if Cole trusted her. "Always, mom," he answered. "I'm on your side." After she hung up, Nora warned Marty about dealing with Spencer. She wished Marty the best.
Marty went to see Spencer. He was finger painting "Blair" and "Mother" on his cell wall with blood that was gushing from his head. He banged his skull on a metal bench to make it bleed more and continued painting and muttering. Marty called guards in to stop him.
Cristian and Evangeline visited John in the hospital. Natalie thanked them for coming. They left suddenly when Evangeline heard the judge called the jury back into court. After, a doctor came in and said they were ready to do a second skin graft for John, but John and Natalie said they wanted to wait to hear the verdict in Spencer's trial.
Adriana received a call from a major lingerie line that wanted to invest in her company. After she hung up, grinning, Dorian was shown watching the whole thing, smiling herself. Adriana saw Dorian and asked if she was spying on her. She told Dorian she is not her mother any more. Rex came over and said the jury had been called back into the courtroom. Dorian left for court.
Bo showed up at Spencer's cell to find the doctor strapped in a straightjacket. Marty pointed out the blood writings and asked Bo if that changed things. Bo said he didn't buy the insanity ploy and told Marty she doesn't know the kind of man Spencer is. "You side up to him, that's the worst thing you could possibly do," he said.
Guards escorted Spencer into court, where everyone else had also reconvened. As they passed by, Todd told Spencer that regardless of whether the insanity thing works out, he, not Spencer, would wind up winning in the end. Blair looked at Todd suspiciously and asked what he was up to. Todd kept mum. After court came to session, the judge dismissed the jury for the night. Evangeline worried that was bad news.

Blair told Todd that Marty is to blame if Spencer gets away with his insanity ploy. Marty walked into the courtroom a moment later, and Blair walked up and pushed her over. Blair suffered another bad headache and left to get some air. She assured Todd the headaches were not the tumor, but her annoyance with Marty.
Viki asked Marty if she testified just to cause trouble for Todd. Marty said no, and that she came back to Llanview for her son's sake.
Evangeline called a psychiatrist to testify. He said that he found Spencer mentally sound and that he believes he should stand trial. The doctor suggested that Spencer and his lawyer were faking his insanity. Spencer's lawyer questioned Evangeline's witness and pointed out that he only spent 45 minutes examining Spencer where Marty spent 17 hours with him. After, the judge ruled that Spencer was fit to stand trial. He adjourned court for 15 minutes. Todd walked over to Evangeline and they shared a smile while they looked at Spencer, who was so full of sedatives he bobbed unsteadily in his chair with his mouth hanging open. The trial resumed and the lawyers each delivered their closing arguments. The judge adjourned court for jury deliberation.
Cole and Starr eyed each other across the hall at school. Langston told Starr she needs to stay away from Cole or she'll wind up hurt. Starr went over to talk to Cole anyway. She asked him what he wants and he replied, "You." Cole admitted he was a real pig that night at the party and said that being told he has to stay away from her makes him want her even more. Marcie walked up as Cole was asking Starr to forgive him and shooed Cole away. She asked Starr if she'd baby-sit Tommy. Starr said sure. Later, Cole sent Starr a text message and Starr texted him back.
Adriana was talking to Rex about her lingerie line when Layla called. She said she'd run into Vincent at the gym and he asked to talk. Adriana said she and Rex would come over right away to support her. They rushed over and asked Vincent if he purposely ambushed Layla at the gym. Vincent said he didn't plan on meeting Layla and that he just misses Layla's friendship. Then he walked away. Layla thanked Adriana for coming to her rescue, and then she and Adriana walked off after some woman they thought was wearing an uncomfortable sports bra. Rex went to talk to Vincent and told him he understands what he's trying to do with Layla.
Natalie visited John and told him she's happy to skip Spencer's trial for the day. John asked Natalie to lean closer and told her, "I came back for you." Natalie told John that he never said he loved her. He replied that he's loved her for a long time, but didn't ever actually say, "I love you." They talked about Spencer's trial and Natalie promised John that justice for his father would finally be served. John made a fist and pursed his lips in anger.

Marty testified before the court that she examined Spencer and had determined that he is mentally unstable. Spencer stood up in the middle of the testimony to rant mindlessly. His lawyer used the outburst to help bolster his case. Spencer sat hunched over and twitching, cleaning his teeth with his pencil. Evangeline asked the judge if she could have Spencer evaluated by another doctor. The judge called recess for the day so Evangeline could get another opinion. After the courtroom emptied, Todd approached Spencer's lawyer and told him, "Your client's in for the shock of his life, and he's not gonna see it coming."
Marty visited Spencer in his cell and told him although she doesn't think he's sane enough to stand trial, she isn't convinced he's not guilty. She asked him to tell her what he's done. Spencer replied, "I've done things that even a shrink like you would not believe." Marty assured Spencer his confessions would be safe given patient/doctor confidentiality. Spencer accused Marty of using his trial to get revenge on Todd and Blair. Marty denied it.
Blair suffered another bad headache and went to see Michael about it. Michael told her that she shouldn't jump to conclusions about the brain tumor returning until they get some test results back.
John told Michael he was still planning to ask Natalie to marry him. John then asked to see the burns on his face. Michael handed him a mirror. Clearly shaken by what he saw, John quipped, "Those scars are going to be hard to shave around." Michael told him it isn't that bad. Michael told John it'd be a while before he's through all the skin grafts and healing he has ahead of him. Natalie came by as Michael was leaving. John asked her what's happening at Spencer's trial, and Natalie told him about Spencer's meltdown and Marty's testimony. John looked distraught.
Jessica and Antonio went by Nash's place to pick up Bree. They told Nash they cut their honeymoon short because they missed her. After they fed the baby, Antonio invited Nash to join them for dinner.
Marcie walked into Rodi's while Viki and Kelly gushed over photos of Bree. She told them about Spencer's mental breakdown and Marty's testimony. Antonio, Jessica, Nash and Bree came in and Marcie left. Antonio, Nash and Jessica had a seat, and some guy came over and approached Jessica all, "Hey baby, what's shakin'?" He called her "Tess" and Jessica told him that she is not Tess. The guy went back to the bar and said (to himself, presumably) that he's "down" with Jessica's game as "bored little wifey looking for action on the side." Jessica admitted to Antonio that she remembers that Tess "hung out with" the guy a couple of times.
