OLTL Recaps Week of July 30, 2007

Friday, August 3, 2007
Marcie picked up Tommy from babysitter Lindsay at the diner and told Tommy she didn't know what she'd do without her only baby. Lindsay asked if Marcie had given up on kids just because she couldn't have any of her own. Michael showed up at the PD and wanted to know what was so important that his brother had to see him at this late hour. John said he wasn't satisfied with everything his brother had told him about the night of Spencer's murder. A heartbroken Bo pulled up a stool at Rodi's next to Antonio, who was also drowning his sorrows over his woman trouble. Bo admitted that he was at Nash and Jessica's nups. At Capricorn, Nora, Layla, Vincent and Adriana surprised Talia with a little thank-you party for saving them from Tate. Blair agreed to stick around the penthouse to watch a movie and then head home once everyone goes to sleep. Jack wanted to build a fort, so Todd ordered "Private Manning" to go on a reconnaissance mission to find all the fort-building materials in the house. Blair thanked Todd for letting her stay, and he clarified that it was for the kids.

Antonio was miffed that Bo didn't mention the wedding and ordered another shot. Their ice-cold O'Douls started to look good as Bo recounted the saga of Paige and Bo. Bo said he wasn't sure Paige would ever return, and Antonio tried to console him by saying it wasn't their problems that drove her away, while for him, his wife fell in love with another guy. Suddenly, a beaming Rex showed up wanting to buy a round after his reconciliation with Adriana. Rex wanted to know what was bugging Antonio, who insisted that his life was just about Jamie and his job now and he wasn't going to open up about his feelings.

Vincent lamented once again not letting Tate fall off that roof, then left the ladies to their "hen party." Layla escorted him out, while Nora commented that Vincent is quite the hottie and Adriana revealed that she and Rex had gotten back together. The ladies sat down and indulged in some champagne courtesy of Vincent. They toasted to all sorts of fantastic things and then pointed out to Talia that the waiter was checking her out. She rolled her eyes when they asked if she had any love interests; she claimed the cop thing tended to scare men off. Nora asked if there was any one she was interested in, but Talia insisted that she was intent on being single right now.

Michael swore to his brother that he wasn't keeping any secrets and that his only connection to Rex was that they each suspected the other of killing Spencer at one point. John asked Michael if he'd met with Rex at the hospital that night, pointing out that he and Rex were clearly keeping some kind of secret. Meanwhile, Marcie told Lindsay she felt that Michael hadn't fully accepted that they couldn't conceive and seemed fixated on having children of his own. Marcie called Michael to ask him to come to the diner for some chicken pot pie, but John said they weren't through. Michael swore once again that there was nothing left to tell, so John let his brother go. Michael went to meet up with Marcie and Tommy.

Vincent interrupted the guys at Rodi's with a little baseball talk, much to everyone's relief. Bo then shocked Rex with the news that Paige left town and threatened to dump beer on Rex if he said anything like, "I'm gonna be there for ya." Lindsay showed up and briefly listened in on their guy talk, then backed away after hearing Rex tell a dirty joke. Vincent asked about Tate's fate, and suggested Talia get a commendation. Bo and Antonio agreed, and Bo said he wanted Tate to go to trial and spend a long time in prison, where he would have to sleep with one eye open. Michael called Rex right away to tell him that John knew something was up between them. He warned Rex that John might come after him, too. Rex asked Bo about the Marty investigation, but Bo had no comment. The guys toasted to better times in the future.

The Mannings sat down to watch the DVD of Starr's musical, much to Starr's embarrassment, but no song-and-dance fantasies followed. Instead, they tuned in to the slasher channel. Starr fell asleep but Jack was intent on staying up so they could continue their family night, then promptly fell asleep.

Miles tried to play games with Marty, offering to pay for the best lawyer around, no strings attached. Marty just wanted an annulment and said his sleazy lawyer wouldn't stop her from getting one. As Marty told Miles that she was sure she killed Spencer, John was in his office underlining names in red on his wipe board. He stopped at Marty's name and made a call requesting a search warrant.

Miles told the judge he was "absolutely not guilty." Todd called out to Miles, asking what happened to his kid. Dr. Holbrook showed up at Marty's jail cell. Sarah made a call about booking a new group at Capricorn, but Cristian hung up her phone and told her to get out of the club. Michael arrived at Rex's wanting to know where they stood where Tommy is concerned.

Sarah continued to try to persuade Cristian into hiring her, but he wasn't having it. Even if she was a musician at one time, that doesn't mean she's any good at booking bands, he pointed out. He offered her a job waiting tables, but she was more interested in drinking cosmos. When he discovered that her card was declined, he handed her an apron so she could wash dishes to make up for the cost of her drinks. Cristian gloated as Sarah talked to the credit card company and realized she'd been cut off financially.

Michael told Adriana and Rex about Marcie's infertility, and remarked that if Todd took Tommy away from them, they'd never have another child and his marriage could be destroyed. Michael was remorseful that he had to the keep the truth about Tommy from Todd, but resolved to remain quiet for the sake of his own family. Rex assured Michael that things with Tommy will die down and that Todd will accept that his son is "dead."

Marty described to Dr. Holbrook her recollection of seeing Truman attack Blair and picking up the scissors. She said she remembered raising them and pointing them at Spencer, but couldn't remember anything else. She guessed that she was repressing what happened afterward because it was so horrible. Dr. Holbrook reminded Marty that what she witnessed was Spencer going after a defenseless woman and she is not a violent person. Dr. Holbrook felt that John is on her side and clearly doesn't think Marty is capable of murder. Marty replied that John is a good man and believes in her even when she doesn't, although she's not sure how long that will last.

Todd continued to cause a stir in the courtroom, but the judge returned the court to order. Miles's attorney painted a picture of an innocent man who wanted nothing more than to have a life in Llanview and requested a reasonable bail. Cole stood up and spoke out against Miles, explaining that Miles blackmailed him and Marty. The judge demanded that Cole calm down and set Miles's bail at $500,000.

After court was adjourned, Cole admitted to John that Marty is probably safest in jail since she's not near Miles. Blair and Starr wanted to take Todd back to the penthouse, and Dorian wanted to know just how long Blair planned to look after Todd. Natalie defended Miles to John, saying she knows what it's like to screw up and have no one on your side. John asked Natalie if she was sure she wanted to be Miles's friend or if her interference was just her way of getting back at him. Natalie insisted that she fully supported Miles and ended their conversation. Nora caught up with John and asked if she thought there was a chance she didn't kill Spencer. He said he thought there was, then suddenly thought of something and ducked out. Meanwhile, Natalie listened to Miles talk about that morning Marty made the best pancakes in the world and how he had hoped it was his first shot at a real, normal life.

The whole Manning family arrived back at the penthouse along with Dorian, who felt a hired nurse may be a suitable replacement for Blair and wanted the children to keep staying with her. Starr remarked that it was just like old times with Todd and Dorian fighting. Everyone was surprised by a visit from Cole, who apologized to Todd and tried to explain why he gave in to Miles's blackmail. Before leaving, Dorian informed Todd that he had used up one of his nine lives and that he better be careful and grateful to be home with his family. Todd made it clear to Cole that he doesn't like him and that's not going to change, but admitted that if he didn't find a way to tolerate Cole, he'd make Starr miserable. They agreed they had to figure something out. Jack revealed that he had asked Blair to stay the night with them.

John phoned Michael to say they had to talk now and demanded they meet in one hour. Michael thanked Rex for everything he'd done for him and Marcie, and Rex promised Michael he'd keep their secret forever for Tommy's sake.

Nora visited Marty in jail and told her that Cole stood up for her in court, but that Miles had been granted bail. Marty said she planned to plead guilty, but Nora advised her to think long and hard about it. After Nora left, Marty received another visitor — Miles.

Rex was shocked that he and Adriana kissed and wanted to know what it meant. At the hospital, Jessica went to see to an uncharacteristically smiley Todd, who didn't know about her liver surgery. He was also floored to hear that Nash is her husband. Talia came upon Antonio as he tore up a picture of him and Jessica in the locker room at the PD. Nora visited a jailed Marty, who was terribly concerned about Cole. Nora reminded Marty that a lot of people are on her side, including John. Cole and Starr came running in to talk to John about Marty's arrest. John explained that Marty had remembered some new details about the night of Spencer's murder that suggest she may be the killer. Natalie explained to Miles that if he confessed, he wouldn't have a chance to explain his case on the stand. Miles thought Natalie was interfering in an attempt to screw with John.

Jessica explained to her uncle that she loved Nash and couldn't fight it while she was married to Antonio. Sarah arrived and Todd cracked that she was his "not-so-favorite niece." Sarah apologized to Todd for not doing more for him. Jessica still needed to be caught up on the whole Hunter/stabbing/kidnapping thing. Jessica hoped Sarah would find a reason to stay in Llanview, other than hiding out from Hunter. When asked why she never called the cops, Sarah explained that Todd called out Blair's name so many times in his sleep that she figured the right thing to do was call Blair. Sarah also said she had asked Hunter who was paying him and all she was told was that he was some rich guy. Blair and Todd were certain it was Miles. Once alone together, Jessica caught up Todd on all her surgeries, including what David Vickers did for her. As Jessica talked about how she and Nash didn't want to miss a moment together, Blair listened in at the door.

Adriana admitted that she missed Rex and insisted that nothing romantic ever happened with Tate. She said she should have listened to Rex and continued to blame herself for what happened, but Rex assured her that Tate would have found another way to hurt people. She wondered if Rex could forgive her for not trusting him again. Rex acknowledged that trust was always an issue for them, long before Tate entered their lives. Adriana admitted that she missed being with Rex the whole time they were apart and that she was being stubborn and too protective of herself to fully trust him, but that she was wrong and wanted another chance. He passionately kissed her, and they headed to the bed. Afterward, they basked in the glow of their reunion, then were rudely interrupted by a brief drop-in from Sarah.

Natalie explained to Miles that she was trying to help him because she could relate to his situation. She was new in town once, too, and no one liked her, but then she decided to prove to everyone that she wasn't the bitch she appeared to be. Miles wondered if people would ever see past the "monster" that he once was, but Nat assured him that he wasn't a monster. He claimed that he didn't stab Todd and didn't ask anyone to do it, but that what he did do he did for love. Natalie promised him that she'd be in his corner. John was furious with Natalie for screwing up the confession.

Marty asked Nora how much time she could end up serving. Voluntary manslaughter could get her up to 10 years in prison, Nora offered as a best-case scenario. But if the prosecution goes with murder in the first degree, she could have to rehash her rape all over again, since her motive for killing Spencer would be that she witnessed someone else being attacked. Marty immediately realized how many things in Cole's life she would miss if she were locked up. Nora headed to Miles's arraignment, while Cole shared a visit with his mom. Marty explained that she wasn't sorry for stopping Spencer from hurting Blair, but that she was sorry for abandoning Cole and letting Miles take advantage of them. Marty was shaking as she watched Cole leave.

Antonio commended Talia on a job well done with the OPP case. She thanked him for being a good teacher and offered to return the favor, should he want to talk about his problems. He revealed that Jessica had wed Nash. Talia advised him to move on and find someone new. After he left to go "work off some of his aggression," Talia told herself to get a grip.

At the arraignment, Nora taunted Miles's hot-shot lawyer and anxiously awaited putting Miles behind bars. John arrived to break the news that there was a snag with the written confession. As Nora detailed the charges against Miles to the judge, Todd wheeled himself in and started to cause a scene, telling Miles he'd put him away if no one else did. Meanwhile, a lady cop told Marty she thought Spencer deserved to die, but Marty claimed even people who get rid of killers need to be put away. As Miles's arraignment got underway, everyone gave each other curious looks, and the judge asked Miles how he'd like to plea.

At the hospital, Starr told Cole she didn't want to talk to him, but he pleaded with her to listen. Todd stirred and mumbled "Evangeline" in his sleep, while Blair stood nearby. At Rex's place, Rex and Adriana started to discuss how Tate came between them. Antonio took Jamie to the diner, where they ran into Roxy. Jessica and Nash enjoyed the morning after their honeymoon — until Natalie busted in on the happy couple with the news that Marty confessed to Spencer's murder. John summoned Miles to his office and demanded that he write out a confession. Miles told John he had no evidence, but John said they already had a signed affidavit stating Miles was holding Todd captive. John left Miles alone and instructed the guard not to let anyone into the room.

Roxy advised Antonio to call the salon so Jamie could get a haircut, then recalled how difficult parenting alone was. She remarked that Antonio was looking quite well considering Nash had just married his ex-wife. Oops! Antonio didn't know! Roxy tried to get her foot, er, toast out of her mouth and went back to saying how Antonio looks really really good considering his recent surgery. She ran off to the salon, leaving Antonio crushed.

Nash made a crack about Marty the shrink knowing more about repressing memories than anyone. Jessica was shocked to hear that Miles blackmailed Marty into marriage. Natalie jumped to his defense, saying he didn't know any better, then left. Jessica commented that Marty could never kill anyone and wanted to call her friend. But first, she wanted to tell Antonio about her new marriage. She called Antonio and requested his presence at the hospital. He agreed, but was pretty nasty to Jess when he showed up, asking if she got her quickie marriage license at a drive-thru window. Jessica explained that she had faced death once again and apologized for hurting him in this way by marrying so quickly after their divorce. Antonio didn't really see how this latest hurt was any different from cheating on him. Antonio refused to forgive Jessica for betraying him and reminded her that she broke every vow she made on their wedding day. He clearly didn't want any part in her life and stormed out, telling Nash he hopes they can last longer in a marriage than he and Jess did.

Todd told Blair that he was having a dream about Evangeline and asked if that upset her. He wondered why she hadn't visited him yet, so Blair reluctantly broke the news that Evangeline was part of the OPP attack on Cristian's loft and had entered a coma. Todd leapt out of bed to try to see her, but Blair informed him that only family was allowed to see Evangeline and that she was a in a separate facility. When Blair wanted to discuss where they stood, Todd wanted to avoid the subject. They got into it anyway, and Todd reminded her that she didn't want to reconcile the last time he brought it up. She said she never gave up her search for him and felt their connection was still there. He thanked her for never giving up, and they acknowledged they had a lot of things to work through.

Adriana noted that Tate killed people because of her because she befriended him and kept him close to her friends. But Rex insisted that she aided in his capture by finding the medal and telling Bo. Rex told her that what happened with Tate would never destroy what's in his heart, and they began to kiss.

Starr asked Cole if Matthew intentionally sent a text asking her to give Cole another chance or if Cole had sent it from his phone. Cole insisted that Matthew was looking out for both of them, and delivered a sincere apology in an effort to win Starr back. Starr forgave him and they hugged. Cole received a call from Matthew saying Marty had just been arrested. Starr accompanied him to the station.

John anticipated Miles's written confession, while Natalie talked her way into the confession room by saying her uncle Bo had OK'd a visit. Miles was about to write his confession when Natalie ripped it out of his hands and advised him against it.

Cristian nearly caught Sarah gazing at a photo of her parents when Rex arrived to inform them about Tate. Meanwhile, Vincent returned to the Palace rooftop and thought about the moment he could have let Tate fall to his death. Shaun found him on the roof and guessed what he was thinking about. Vincent beat himself up for not catching on to Harmon's game earlier and not letting him go. Shaun assured his friend that he did the right thing.

Dorian brought Adriana and Layla some muffins, and Adriana thought back to when Tate had brought them breakfast so many times and wondered if he was just plotting to hurt them the whole time. Dorian insisted that Adriana and Layla eat something, but they still felt sick to their stomachs thinking about what happened with Tate. Dorian reminded them that if they kept on with this defeatist attitude, it might affect their company. She advised them to use this to their public relations advantage and that she'd contacted a publicist who was going to draft a press release for them on the situation. “All you need to do is just ride the wave,” Dorian advised them. Layla and Adriana weren't interested in Exposed's PR or selling underwear at the moment. Shaun paid a visit to the girls and was pleased to meet Dorian. Shaun told Layla that he'd seen a troubled Vincent on the Palace roof and that he really needed someone to talk to.

At Asa's, Matthew ripped up his cards and photos of Tate Harmon and threw them in the trash. Matthew pondered how someone can turn out to be so evil. Their new houseguest, Cole, came down for breakfast and asked Nora how long Marty would be in jail. Nora reminded him that she would only be held for 48 hours and that she believed Marty would be exonerated and would get the best attorney in the state. Later, Cole asked Matthew why he was throwing out his Tate Harmon memorabilia, pointing out that it was probably worth something. It was worth nothing to him, spat Matthew, since Tate burned down his house and all his possessions. Cole admitted that he'd only had a few things of his dad's, and if he lost them, he'd be devastated. Matthew tried to change the subject by asking how Cole got himself into this mess with Starr. Cole admitted that he'd lied to Starr and wasn't sure he could win back her trust.

Meanwhile, Starr confided in Viki her confusion over her feelings for Cole and lamented that things can never be the same for them. Viki asked if Starr had heard Cole's entire explanation and reminded her that she gave Cole another chance at the prom because she loved him. Viki admitted that it wouldn't be easy, but that perhaps Todd would soften considering he's been through a lot in the last few months. Viki reminded her niece that the truth is always better than staying quiet. Starr ran off to the elevator ... and straight into Cole.

Bo pulled Marty into his office for more questioning. Marty told Bo she was certain that she killed Spencer. She explained that she confronted Spencer while he was with a sedated Blair, that he attacked her and she wielded a pair of scissors but didn't recall actually stabbing Spencer. She felt that if she had the scissors in her hand, she must have gone through with killing him. John felt the hole in Marty's story was just too big. Bo confided to John that he had no choice but to arrest Marty. John advised him against it, suggesting that Marty may have been knocked out before she had a chance to kill Truman, since her CAT scan showed that she'd suffered a head injury. Bo insisted on going by the book, even though he acknowledged that Marty's confession raised some questions. John wondered if he'd pressed her too hard into remembering. Bo cryptically said perhaps they'd already found Spencer's killer, then arrested Marty.

Nash promised Jessica to take her on a real honeymoon when she's well. She reminded Nash that Antonio didn't yet know about their marriage. Jessica felt guilty, but Nash noted that they certainly never intended to hurt anyone.

Cristian asked Rex how Adriana was doing, but Sarah was more interested in whether he'd reunited with Adriana. She was bored in Llanview, she whined. Rex suggested she look for a job, and Cristian slapped her with the classifieds. Sarah was shocked to see a photo of a moppy-haired Todd plastered over the front page. Sarah wanted to bolt, but they insisted she stay in Llanview for her own protection. Cristian suggested that if Todd is back in Llanview, Hunter might be lurking around, too. Cris pointed out that it might not be long before her family cuts her off financially. He suggested she wait tables, but Sarah had another idea: booking bands at Capricorn. She was confident that she could help revolutionize the music at Capricorn. Cristian pointed out that Nelly Furtado and Mary J. Blige had already performed there, so they weren't hurting too bad for decent acts. He left without giving Sarah an answer.

Dorian asked Adriana where she and Rex were headed, even though she'd been against their relationship in the past. Adriana wondered if Rex could forgive her for repeatedly failing to trust him. Dorian pointed out that Blair found Todd and had sat vigil by his hospital bed, and that watching them together made Dorian feel that perhaps even they might be meant for each other.

Layla headed back to the scene of the crime to offer Vincent some comfort. Vincent admitted that he wished he'd let Tate die when he had the chance. Layla said if she saw him do that, she's not sure she'd feel the same way about him. She called him a hero and declared that she wanted them to learn everything about each other that they didn't already know. Vincent confessed that he'd invited her to the roof the night before to ask her to give him another chance and be his girlfriend again. "I already am," she stated.
