Dorian watched as the hit on Ray went awry and Vanessa picked up the shooter's gun, firing a bullet at her husband. John called for backup after cuffing the hit man, and Dorian asked if Ray was dead. Though he was bleeding heavily, Ray clung to life, while Antonio arrested Vanessa. After confirming with John that the guy was a contract killer, Blair looked over at a guilty Dorian. Langston was stunned, gasping that she didn't even know her uncle was married. Talia tried to control Ray's bleeding while waiting for the paramedics to arrive. Blair went up to Dorian and asked what she's up to, but she played innocent, pointing out that "some woman" did them all a favor by shooting Ray. John knew that Dorian was somehow involved and wanted to speak to her about it at the station. The paramedics took Ray to the hospital, while Markko insisted on accompanying Langston home, admitting that he was happy she didn't have to get on that plane. Langston remarked that Dorian didn't seem too surprised by what they just witnessed.

Gigi was furious that Adriana had Rex moved to an undisclosed location. She and Marcie pleaded with Michael to reveal where Adriana took Rex. Michael couldn't give her a straight answer, but did his best to subtly offer clues. Gigi and Marcie understood, then watched as Ray was wheeled into the ER. Gigi said she knows Adriana took Rex someplace where she could call all the shots — La Boulaie. Meanwhile, Blair returned home and discovered Adriana there with Rex, still comatose and hooked up to multiple machines. Blair questioned Adriana's intentions, but Adriana maintained that she's doing what's best for Rex.

Marty suggested she and Todd name Starr's child Patrick if it's a boy. Having overheard, Janet walked in and suggested, "Cole," tossing a smug look in Todd's direction. Janet lied that she was just listening to Cole Porter on the radio, then followed Todd into the kitchen. Janet revealed that she'd done a little reading on Marty and is fully aware of Todd's lies. Todd was curious as to just how she got all this information. She thought back to her conversation with John, but kept quiet about it, and brought up the fact that she knows Todd raped Marty. Todd insisted that he's giving Marty a better life than the one she had, but Janet recognized his selfish motives. Todd dropped the bomb that he knows all about her past as Lee Halpern and tried to hold that knowledge over her. She reluctantly agreed to stay silent about Marty's identity.

Meanwhile, Cole and Starr shared a heart-to-heart and Cole thanked her for being there for him after his mom died. As much as she appreciated Langston and Marrko's help, he said he especially couldn't have gotten through it without Starr. Todd returned from his confrontation with Janet, and was chilled when Marty said no son of hers would ever be named Cole.

Back at the Llanview PD, Dorian explained to John how she spotted a man pulling out a gun at the airport. John asked her if she knew that the man was a contract killer. "How badly did you want to keep Langston from her uncle?" John pressed. When she continued to play dumb, John decided to call in Jackie McNaughton — and keep Dorian in a cell in the meantime. Vanessa was brought in for booking and asked Cristian to look after Lola in her absence. As Todd and Marty continued to look through a book of baby names, Janet thought about her meeting with John and dialed his number. John answered, but there was no one on the other end. Langston approached Lola and introduced herself as Lola's cousin.

Marcie started to cook up a scheme to get Gigi in to see Rex, while Adriana begged Rex to wake up and come back to her, suggesting they start over again. She vowed out loud that no one would come between them again.
