PASSIONS Recaps Week of April 25, 2005Friday, April 29, 2005 Chad defended his right to adopt Whitney's child and his asserted new status as the child's legal father. Fox lost it, went ballistic and punched out Chad, and the two had a sibling-versus-sibling brawl of their own. Eve tended to the baby while Julian broke up the fight between his two sons and pleaded for peace between them. Whitney tried to reason with Theresa to not continue her vendetta against Gwen, and drop the charges. Whitney insisted that Theresa's course of actions are mean and cruel, but Theresa defended her decision, insisting her actions are justified. Whitney warned that Theresa's plans will backfire and cause Ethan to hate Theresa. But Theresa insisted the opposite will happen and she will drive Ethan back into her arms. Gwen and Rebecca bullied Ethan to find a legal loophole in Theresa's surrogate mother contract to use as leverage against her, but Ethan insisted the contracts were iron-clad and that Theresa now has full legal custody of Little Ethan. Moreover, he defended Theresa keeping the boy, infuriating Rebecca and Gwen, and demanded that the endless war between Gwen and Theresa come to an end, pronto.
Thursday, April 28, 2005 Sam angrily confronted Ivy about her knowledge of Jessica's machinations. Jessica played the victim card and insisted that Ivy gave her blessing to Jessica's "activities." Tabitha gleefully stirred the pot by exposing Jessica's cut and burn marks to Sam. Sam demanded to know who inflicted those wounds on her, and was stunned to learn she inflicted them on herself. Sam demanded that Jessica explain why she hurt herself, then turned his fury on Ivy for not telling him. Ivy weakly tried to defend herself, but drew Sam's ire when she blamed Jessica for not telling him. Jessica manipulated her father by apologizing to him and evoking his sympathies. Sam pledged to help Jessica and called Ivy a monster. Ivy produced documents showing she was actively researching Jessica's emotional disorder and possible treatment options, including an inpatient psychiatric hospital. But Sam declared that Ivy was the one who would be checking in someplace else that night and kicked her out of the house. At the adoption center, Eve berated Whitney to "do the right thing" and tell the truth about her baby's paternity. Whitney left the center and sought advice from Theresa, but they ended up arguing over Theresa's course of action against Gwen. Fox went to Ethan for legal advice on how to get "his" son back from Chad. Eve and Julian visited Chad and the baby. Chad insisted he wanted Whitney to be a part of his life, even if only platonically, which is why he adopted the baby. Fox arrived and furiously demanded that Chad turn over "his" son to him — or else. At the Wallace home, Sheridan began to remember that she had been held captive there and that Beth was behind her kidnapping. Luis grew frustrated as Sheridan tried to convince him that she wasn't imagining things or hallucinating. In the basement Sheridan insisted a window used to exist on one of the walls, and pried the paneling away to reveal the window — just as she had remembered it. But Luis wasn't impressed by the "evidence" — especially when he discvored a concrete floor where Sheridan insisted the pit was located. Luis admonished Sheridan to "stop torturing Beth and her mother" with her accusations.
Wednesday, April 27, 2005 Mrs. Wallace tried to call Beth to break up Beth's evening with Alistair. Beth and Alistair were getting cozy (and drunk) on champagne at the Blue Note. Mrs. Wallace finally reached Beth on her cell and tried to tell her — twice — that Alistair is her father, but Beth hung up before she heard the news both times. Luis and Sheridan stopped by the Wallace home to see Beth, but Edna told them she didn't know where Beth was. Sheridan asked to visit with Marty while she was there. Thinking she was alone with Marty, Sheridan told Marty she knew he was her son — but a dismayed Luis overheard her at the doorway. Luis confronted Sheridan about her insistence about Marty, while Sheridan began to have recollections of her kidnapping and began to recognize that she was held captie in the Wallace house. Back at the Blue Note, a drunken Alistair began to put some serious moves on Beth, who tried to beg off by telling him her heart was with Luis. Alistair blackmailed Beth into sleeping with him, threatening Luis if she refused. At the adoption agency Chad remained defiant and insisted no one would take his new son away from him. TC and Fox separately threatened Chad, prompting the adoption center manager to warn that he'd call the police. Eve tried to tell Chad there are "reasons" why he shouldn't adopt Whitney's baby, which piqued everyone's curiosities.
Tuesday, April 26, 2005 Luis consoled Sheridan after her nightmare about losing Marty. After Luis tucked her back into bed, Sheridan got up and walked to the main house, where Ethan and Gwen discussed the details of her criminal defense. Sheridan and Gwen reconnected, and caught each other up on their lives and problems. Gwen encouraged Sheridan to follow her heart where Marty was concerned regardless of what the DNA tests say. Ethan quietly vowed to make things right by Gwen and put Theresa in her place. Alistair insisted to Beth and Mrs. Wallace that he had nothing to do with the DNA test results. As Beth and Alistair toasted their plans against Sheridan, Mrs. Wallace surfed the 'Net looking for information on how DNA test results can be wrong, and concluded that Marty's test was a false positive because Beth must be Marty's aunt. At the adoption center, Chad shocked everyone when he revealed he was the applicant chosen by the agency to adopt Whitney's baby. Eve tearfully pleaded with Whitney to "do the right thing" and reclaim her baby, but Whitney refused. TC insisted the baby should be raised in a two-parent African American household.
Monday, April 25, 2005 Alistair stopped an upset Pilar in the park and offered to help her get Katherine out of her and Martin's life forever. He tempted her with a piece of paper that he claimed had all the info she'd need to neutralize the Katherine problem permanently. Desperate, Pilar accepted the paper. Later she encouraged Theresa that "All is fair in love and war," when Theresa sought her mother for advice on what to do about Ethan and Gwen, whom Rebecca welcomed home. Privately Rebecca pressed Ethan to team up with her to put Theresa in her place once and for all. Reluctantly Ethan finally agreed. Fox berated Whitney at the adoption center, where all the would-be adoptive parents were enraged to learn that the baby had been adopted by somebody else. Eve begged Whitney to tell everyone the truth about who the baby's father is. Chad pulled Whitney aside and consoled her. But everyone was in for the shock of their lives when Chad walked out from the back office holding Whitney's baby — he was the adoptive parent chosen by the agency. At the hospital, Sheridan surprised everyone when she apologized to Beth for everything she's put her through; but privately Sheridan stuck to her belief that Marty was her son. Back at home Sheridan had a nightmare about losing Marty. Mrs. Wallace talked to Precious on the phone and filled her in on all the latest developments. Mrs Wallace and Beth were convinced that Alistair was behind their good fortune, but Alistair paid them a surprise visit and shocked them with the news that he hadn't altered the DNA test results after all.
