In a trance, Sheridan made her way to Tabitha's. Once inside, she snapped out of her trance and couldn't recall how she got there. Tabitha insisted that Sheridan stay awhile, and pumped her to talk about her problems with Luis. Tabitha offered some motherly advice, and the two reminisced about Sheridan's childhood. Sheridan had a flashback to when Tabitha scared a young Sheridan during a trick-or-treat visit on Halloween. Sheridan explained her suspicions of Beth to Tabitha, who egged on Sheridan to seek the truth.

Luis surprised Beth and Mrs. Wallace at their home after they went on a shopping spree with Alistair's money. Luis was aghast at all the stuff they bought. Beth blamed her crazy mother for cashing Alistair's check. A heated argument between Beth and Edna ensued, and Beth played to Luis' sympathies. Luis shared with Beth Sheridan's theory that she and Beth are sisters. Beth dismissed it out-of-hand. Luis expressed his frustration to Beth over Sheridan's insistence that he always take her side even though there are never any facts to support it.

In Las Vegas, Fancy was furious at Ned for knocking her into the pool with him and ruining her good shoes. Ned told her he'd gone to boarding school with dozens of materialistic girls like her and so he has no interest in having another one like her in his life. Fancy attempted to slap him but he blocked her in time. When Ned got out of the pool he knocked Fancy's purse over. When he put her belongings back inside of it, he swiped Fancy's invitation to a special private high-stakes gambling event. Later that night he and Sandra crashed the event with Fancy's invitation. Nikki Cox played her Las Vegas character, Mary, in a cameo in which she gave Ned a fair warning against cheating at the casino. Fancy tried to enter the private gaming room but is turned down by security when she couldn't produce her invitation.

Kay and Jessica wrestled on their kitchen floor. Kay pinned Jessica down and practiced some tough-love on her, going so far as to threaten to beat her with an iron frying pan if Jessica didn't pull herself together and agree to stay for their father's planned family dinner. A hateful Jessica accused Kay of being a hypocrite because of her own problematic past. Kay insisted that despite everything she and their father love Jessica, and reminisced about how happy she was when Jessica was born into the family. Kay warned Jessica that she is gambling with her life with the dangerous choices she is making.

In Vegas, Fancy spotted Ned at the hotel pool. She and her friend Veronica paid him a visit, but Ned had another girl, Sandra, on his arm. When Sandra went for a dip in the pool Fancy tried flirting with Ned again but he turned her down cold, blaming her for his money problems. She threw her drink on him. Later Fancy and Veronica were sunning themselves poolside when they spotted Ned swimming over to them. Ned tricked Fancy into closing her eyes, expecting a kiss, only to be shoved into the pool by a mischievous Ned. Fancy turned the tables and got him knocked into the pool as well.

Sam had a heart-to-heart with Kay, and blamed himself for Jessica's problems while Jessica eavesdropped on them. Kay asked Sam if he'd be willing to give Ivy another chance some day, and Sam admitted that might be possible, much to Jessica's chagrin. Sam expressed his pride in Kay for getting her own act together, and said he was going to send Noah an e-mail informing him of Jessica's situation. When Sam stepped out, Jessica confronted Kay and accused her of giving their dad a snow job, and told her she's going to skip their planned family dinner. Kay grabbed Jessica to stop her from leaving, and both sisters ended up in a heap on the kitchen floor.

At the Crane mansion, Rebecca, Gwen and Ivy celebrated their legal victories over Theresa. Gwen took Ethan to task for not getting into the "party spirit" over Theresa's downfall. Ethan claimed celebrating was premature, stressing that their custody of Jane is only temporary at this point. Gwen accused Ethan of still caring for Theresa while Rebecca and Ivy toasted Theresa's demise. Privately, Ethan admitted to Ivy that he almost didn't show up to court because he still loves Theresa. Ivy tried to get Ethan to "come to his senses" where Theresa is concerned, but to no avail. Ethan told his mother that as much as he loves Gwen, he has never felt the same way towards her as he has with Theresa, and drew a comparison to how she felt about Sam while she was married to Julian.

Pilar tried to reason with Theresa to exercise some self-control, in order to prove to the court that she'd be a suitable mother for baby Jane after all. But Theresa remained defiant, and couldn't understand why she had to win back custody of her daughter from the woman who kidnapped her. Pilar was visibly pained by her daughter's stubbornness.

Sheridan expressed to Luis her lack of faith in their relationship since he continually sides with Beth over her. Sheridan broke down crying, and declared that they are on two incompatible paths. She admitted her fear that she is losing Luis. Tabitha observed their argument in her magic bowl of rainwater and was delighted by the couple's growing troubles. She magically summoned Sheridan to pay her a visit by lighting a picture of her on fire and dropping it into the bowl.

Tabitha and Endora (who just may be the cutest baby ever seen!) spent the episode watching Sheridan and Luis fight in their Magical Black Pot. Sheridan was furious that Luis didn't believe Marty was her son. She didn't care about the DNA tests; if Luis really loved her, he would have faith in her. "Some detective you are," she groaned. Tabitha and her Little Demon cast a spell on Sheridan so she would remember all of the past lives that she and Luis shared. In doing so, Sheridan came to the realization that every time in the past they were torn apart by reasons beyond their control (wars, icebergs, etc.). This time was different, though, they were tearing themselves apart. Tabitha was certain that Sheridan and Luis were done for all eternity and she would finally make "The Witches Hall of Infamy."

Jessica eavesdropped on Kay and Sam discussing whose fault Jessica's rebellion was. Sam was worried it was all his doing, but Kay assured him that Grace abandoning them was to blame. Surprisingly, Kay proposed that they track her mother down and get her to come back to Harmony. Sam informed his daughter that there was little chance of him getting back together with Grace, but he would call her and tell her about Jessica.

The judge's decision in the custody trial didn't bring much order in the court, in fact, it brought about much disorder. Temporary custody was awarded to Ethan and Gwen, and Theresa was furious. She lunged at Gwen, threw her over a table — impressive for the tiny little thing — and attacked her, all while the judge looked on. (Strong, but obviously not very smart.) The judge ordered her arrest for assault and contempt. Much to Rebecca's apparent dismay ("How many prescriptions are you taking?!" she baffled), Gwen requested that charges not be filed against Theresa. She claimed it was time they all got on with their lives. The judge granted her wish and Theresa was free to go, but being Theresa, she wasn't about to go quietly. When Rebecca promised to show Baby Jane Theresa's mug shot frequently so she wouldn't forget her, Theresa attacked Mother Hotchkiss, but this time without the judge as an audience. After she was pulled off, she vowed that the only way Ethan and Gwen would ever receive permanent custody of her baby was over her dead body.

At the courthouse everyone anxiously awaited the judge's new decision. Theresa vented to the D.A. and her mother that Ethan's medical defense of Gwen is bogus and should be thrown out. During the recess, Fox confronted Whitney about "his" baby, and demanded to know the truth behind why she gave the baby up for adoption. Elsewhere in the courthouse Ethan confronted Theresa about her nonstop quest to destroy Gwen. A tearful Theresa declared that she knows Ethan loves her, and pulled him into a passionate kiss. Ethan pushed her away, declared his commitment and love for Gwen, and insisted that whatever he and Theresa shared was in the past. The judge called the court back into session, ruled that Gwen acted out of character due to a medical reaction and dismissed the charges against her. In a double defeat, the judge expressed her dismay at the lengths Theresa has gone to get baby Jane, and thereby awarded temporary custody of her to Gwen and Ethan.

In the park, Sheridan ran into Katherine, who told her she'd been keeping her distance because she knew Luis hated her, and so she didn't want to come between them. Sheridan told her mother that so much has happened since they last saw each other, and updated her on everything that's been going on with Luis, Beth and Marty. The two enjoyed a rare mother-daughter chat, as Katherine brought Sheridan up to speed on the Martin situation. As they spoke a gust of wind took away the balloons Sheridan had bought for her son, as she fully expected Luis to return from Beth's with Marty in tow. Elsewhere in the park, Whitney ran into Chad and Valerie with the baby. Chad insisted that Whitney hold the baby while he discussed what to name him. Fox's arrival on the scene quickly broke up the impromptu gathering.

At the Wallace house, Beth began her much-anticipated "big confession" to Luis: She "admitted" that Alistair has been blackmailing her to help him break up Luis and Sheridan, and she was the poor victim who accepted his "indecent proposal" out of a dire need for cash to take care of her invalid mother. Beth insisted that Marty was still her son. Luis grilled her to make sure she didn't have anything else to confess. Beth claimed she took Alistair's check but never actually followed through on her end of the deal — and insisted that she never did anything to him or Sheridan. Beth got drunk and toasted herself and her success after Luis bought her story and left. Back at the cottage, Luis broke the news to Sheridan that Beth was another hapless victim of Alistair's, but that Marty is still Beth’s son. Tensions escalated between the couple, as Sheridan became enraged at the news and accused Luis of taking always taking Beth's side at her expense.

At the courthouse Ethan arrived late — much to the dismay of the judge, who already arrived at her decision. Ethan persuaded the judge to revoke her original decision and re-hear the case. Ethan presented a vigorous defense of Gwen, including medical studies that show side-effects to drug interactions that could explain away her seemingly psychotic behavior. The D.A. argued that more specific evidence needs to be given to prove Ethan's theory, so Ethan called Eve to the stand to offer her expert medical testimony. Eve's testimony coroborated Ethan's assertions about the drugs, which caused Theresa to make some emotional outburts that angered the judge, who threatened to hold her in contempt. During a break at the courthouse, Eve tried to persuade Whitney to be a mother to her baby, but Whitney flatly refused. Back in the courtroom Ethan made his closing arguments, and everyone waited breathlessly for the judge's decision.

Sheridan and Luis argued over Beth's involvement in her kidnapping after they spotted Beth and Alistair together at the mansion. Mrs. Wallace frantically prepared to flee town since Beth's association with Alistair had been outed. But Beth surprised everyone when she called Luis and asked him to come over to her house because she wanted to make a full confession. when Luis arrived, Beth began her mea culpa, as Mrs. Wallace looked on in astonishment.

In Las Vegas, Ned got manhandled out of the casino for not having the money to cover his losses. Fancy came to his rescue and made a bold sacrifice for Ned's freedom. She then instructed him to buy her a drink as "paybacks." Over cocktails, the two agreed to properly (re)introduce themselves to each other. Serious flirtations ensued, which led to a passionate kiss. The kiss was interrupted by a call on Fancy's cell. Ned noted that the call was coming from a Hamony area code. Both Ned and Fancy noted what a small world it truly is for the two of them to both know people from a small town like Hamony.
