PASSIONS Recaps Week of May 30, 2005

Thursday, June 2, 2005
Chad and Valerie discovered that most of Chad's work files at Crane industries have been destroyed at the office by Fox, who relished his little victory over his brother. Chad surprised Valerie by informing her that he had made backup copies of all of his files, so no harm was done by Fox after all. At the Blue Note, Liz warned Whitney not to follow in her mother's footsteps. Whitney bristled at Liz's attempts to give her advice, and when Liz left, Whitney instructed the bartender to give her yet another one of the free drinks that her fans had offered her. Whitney drowned her sorrows over her baby, then stumbled back on stage to prepare for her next set. Fox and his date arrived to celebrate Fox's "victory." Chad and Valerie arrived soon after. Chad spotted Fox and confronted him about trying to destroy his work. Liz intervened before the two brothers came to blows, and suggested that both couples should leave her club, but each couple insisted the other couple should leave. Whitney began her next set but found herself unable to finish it. She stepped off stage and was confronted by Chad and Fox before she ran off.

At the hospital, Dottie tried desperately to contact Sheridan to let her know she has new results from re-running the DNA tests. Dottie finally reached Luis, and told him that she has important news for him and Sheridan. Luis hung up on her in his frenzy as he raced to find Sheridan before she left town. Sheridan confronted Beth before leaving for Paris, and told her to take good care of HER son. Over Beth's objections, Mrs. Wallace invited Sheridan to come inside the house and spend some time with Marty before she leaves. As Sheridan cuddled with Marty, Mrs. Wallace told Beth there is a special place in Hell for her. Before Sheridan left, Mrs. Wallace gave Sheridan a framed photo of Luis and Marty. After Sheridan left, Beth rejoiced in her victory over archnemesis. But when Mrs. Wallace took the wind out of her sails by pointing out that Beth may have Marty but still doesn't have Luis, Beth went ballistic and smashed a vase against the wall. Beth insisted that she was victorious, and would soon have Luis, as well.

Theresa sought comfort from Pilar and Luis after turning baby Jane over to Ethan and Gwen. Theresa broke down when Ethan and Gwen left with Jane. When Luis went to find Sheridan to continue his conversation with her, Gwen broke the bad news that Sheridan left and will soon be on her way to Paris. Theresa lambasted Pilar for taking Gwen's side over hers, in order to prevent herself from being a hypocrite where Martin and Katherine are concerned. Theresa smashed a flower pot of her own in anger, shocking Pilar.

On the Crane grounds, Katherine nagged Martin to tell her the Secret of the Gazebo, but Martin refused. Alistair stood by and taunted them about Martin's unwillingness to divulge the secret to her. Martin told her that she needs to ask Alistair for the answers. Alistair agreed to show Katherine "everything," and the two wandered off together...

At the Blue Note, Liz thanked Whitney for filling in for her regular singer at the last minute. When one of Liz' waitresses showed them some baby pictures, Whitney began to think of her own. Liz tried to advise Whitney to be careful not to let her emotions about her baby get the best of her, or else she could go down the same path as her mother and get hooked on drugs, etc. Whitney brought the house down with her act.

On the Crane grounds, Katherine was about to strike Alistair with a rock, but Martin intervened and prevented her from attacking Alistair. Alistair's taunting provoked Martin into beating up Alistair. This time it was Katherine's turn to intervene and save Alistair's life, but not before he had time to reignite the tension between Katherine and Martin by reminding them of the gazebo.

Luis tried to convince Sheridan not to go back to Paris, but Sheridan insisted she can't stay with a man who won't support her — and warned that she may never return. Luis' efforts at changing Sheridan's mind were interrupted by his duty to go back and try to persuade Theresa from ending her standoff. Luis told Theresa to do what he could not do himself: Trust the person she loves, and believe that the custody situation will only be temporary. Luis' words convinced Theresa, and she came out of the room with Jane. Luis told Theresa her actions have moved him to follow his own advice and to trust Sheridan. Gwen tried to dissuade Sheridan from running away from her problems, but a tearful Sheridan explained it was too painful to stay in Harmony knowing that her son was with Beth.

Fox went snooping in Chad's office with his date, and noticed on Chad's computer that was working from home. Fox's date noticed a picture of Chad and Miles on Chad's desk and noted how much the baby looks like Chad, which enraged Fox, who informed her that he is the baby's father. Fox deleted files on Chad's computer crucial to a huge merger project Chad is responsible for. Fox hoped that Chad would get fired as a result and then lose custody of the baby because he couldn't afford to provide for him. At Chad's home, Valerie warned Chad to keep his guard up where Fox is concerned. Valerie called Chad on his plan to get Whitney back through Miles. Chad insisted he doesn't want to sleep with his sister any more, he just wants Whitney to be a motherly presence in Miles' life. The social services agent stopped by for an unannounced inspection/visit. She was happy with what she saw, but insisted that Chad and Valerie go out for a few hours and enjoy themselves while she babysat.

In Vegas, Fancy and Ned got busted by an ambiguously gay but ambiguously stupid hotel security guard, who prepared to apprehend them — but not before making a bunch of lame Freudian slips and double entendres at Ned's expense. Ned tricked the guard and locked him in a closet (how appropriate), so he and Fancy could make their escape. Holed up in another hotel room, Fancy and Ned found a briefcase stuffed with cash and a gun, both lying supiciously out in the open. As they attempted to put the money back they discovered a bullet-riddled corpse on the floor on the far side of the bed.

On the Crane grounds, Katherine got Alistair's attention by speaking to him through his bazillions of hidden microphones and cameras, and challenged him to come down and confront her face to face like a man. Alistair became annoyed by her challenge. Katherine surveyed the land where the gazebo once stood, and wondered why Alistair had ordered it razed. Alistair arrived to taunt her. Katherine declared she was tired of having him use her and her loved ones — especially Sheridan — as pawns in his sick games. She also insisted to know why he had the gazebo torn down. Alistair deferred Katherine to Martin for answers, and taunted her by pointing out that the man she loves won't be honest with her.

Luis and Theresa continued their heart-to-heart as Theresa remained barricaded in her room. She tried to get Luis to see Sheridan's side of their disagreement, while Luis pleaded with his sis to do the reasonable thing and come out of the room and give baby Jane over to Ethan. Pilar told Ethan she didn't blame him for the current standoff, but reminded him that Theresa's actions were borne out of love for him. Sheridan confided her troubles in Gwen, who encouraged Sheridan not to give up on Luis and their relationship. Couples Gwen and Ethan, Sheridan and Luis and Pilar and Martin all ended up having spats sparked by the Ethan and Theresa situation. In front of Gwen, Ethan, Pilar and Katherine, Luis questioned Sheridan's loyalty to him. In turn, an enraged Sheridan accused Luis of a double standard and declared that at least Katherine believed in and supported her. Martin perked up at the mention of Katherine, and asked Sheridan how her mother was doing — since he left multiple messages for her. This enraged Pilar and Luis. Pilar accused Martin of once again putting Katherine ahead of their family — especially now at a time of crisis with Teresa. Pilar ordered Martin to leave her. Pilar and Martin's heated exchange strained Luis and Sheridan's relationship even further, and prompted Sheridan to declare to Gwen that she and Luis "are finished." Outside alone together, Sheridan told a stunned Luis that she is going away...
