Sam informed Noah that Jessica slipped out for the night again. On the streets, Spike checked up on Jessica, who was trying to nab her first John. He gave her some drugs to help chill out and relax. As Ethan lambasted Alistair, Alistair collapsed with an apparent heart attack. Fancy wanted to call 911 but Alistair refused. Ethan accused him of faking, and while Fancy tended to Alistair Ethan continued his invective against Alistair. Alistair and Ethan traded parting threats before Ethan left. Ethan caught up with Noah and Sam, and helped them look for Jessica. Spike grew impatient as he watched Jessica rebuff potential clients. He gave her more drugs to relax her before leaving to call Alistair, who ordered Spike to do whatever it takes to destroy the Bennetts. Alistair then quizzed Fancy about her interest in Noah. Alistair conceded that Ethan had a point about Alistair not having any successors groomed to take over the Crane empire after he dies. Fancy offered herself to be Alistair's new heir. Alistair laughed at her suggestion, and gave Fancy some money for a shopping spree. Fancy inquired as to who Alistair would pick as his successor. After thinking a moment, Alistair came up with a devilish idea. Meanwhile, Sam, Noah and Ethan were aghast when they found Jessica whoring herself on the wharf. An enraged Sam threatened to kill Jessica's would-be John if he caught him with Jessica ever again.

Luis reiterated his promise to Sheridan to find Beth and return Marty. Sheridan got a phone call from Marty — thanks to Beth, who relished taunting Sheridan from her airplane. Beth declared that would be the last time Sheridan would ever hear Marty's voice again, and told Sheridan the only reason Sheridan doesn't have her son is because Luis loved Beth too much to shoot her when he had the opportunity. Beth told Sheridan she was weak and needy and didn't deserve to be Marty's mom. Luis frantically tried to have the call traced, but to no avail — Beth blew a final kiss to Luis over the phone before hanging up on him.

Theresa called Alistair and accepted his indecent proposal. Alistair pressed her for a full-course meal including "dessert," but Theresa drew the line at dinner only. Alistair relished the idea that he now has Theresa right where he wants her. Theresa ran into Whitney, and the two best friends caught each other up on their lives and problems. Back at Theresa's house, Whitney was aghast when she heard a message from Alistair on Theresa's answering machine about their upcoming date. Whitney warned Theresa not to follow through on her plans, reminding her that Alistair ruins every life he touches. Ethan confronted Alistair about firing Sam. Ethan warned Alistair that his empire is on the verge of financial collapse because he's too busy ruining other people's lives to be paying attention to the health and future of Crane Industries. As Ethan continued to berate Alistair, Alistair began to hyperventilate and fell off his chair, apparently having a heart or anxiety attack.

Luis called Sam for help in locating Beth, and was shocked to learn that Sam had been fired by Alistair. Luis vowed to find Marty himself and save his relationship with Sheridan, who grieved in private over the loss of her son. Gwen expressed her condolences and consoled Sheridan, who ripped Luis apart over Marty's loss. She reiterated her declaration that it's all his fault, that she can no longer stand the sight of him, and that he needs to leave her cottage. An apologetic Luis obeyed her commands, and left her cottage dejected. Outside, Luis told Martin and Pilar that he has no choice but to leave Harmony and go find Beth and Marty himself. Inside the cottage Gwen and Katherine tried to reason with Sheridan and get her to soften her feelings against Luis. But Sheridan refused to relent. As Luis continued to debate with his parents whether he should leave Harmony and go off on his own to continue the search, Sheridan opened the door to her cottage and approached him...

Sam was aghast to find Jessica missing from her room, and concluded that she must be with Spike. Jessica questioned Spike's "request" to have her prostitute herself for him. Spike told her allowing his girl to pimp herself out is a huge sacrifice for him. Jessica got upset and told Spike she can't sell herself to strange men. Spike manipulated Jessica by saying he will now be forced to take on a dangerous job on the Alaskan pipeline. Succumbing to Spike's guilt trip and worry that she'll be separated from Spike, Jessica reluctantly agreed to become a hooker, and started walking the streets.

Ethan insisted to Theresa that he's going to remain with Gwen, even though Theresa called him on his knee-jerk reaction to the news that Alistair put the moves on Theresa. Ethan became exasperated in his attempts to reason with Theresa, but she refused to let him backpedal from his past declarations of love for her. He begged her to move on with her life, but Theresa ignored him. Ethan insisted he was going to start a family with Gwen and live out his life with Gwen. After walking away from her, Ethan regretted the way he came down on Theresa, who called Alistair to talk about his offer.

Fancy was aghast at the way her grandfather treated Noah, who became enraged when he learned from Alistair that Fancy blabbed to him about the arson and their Las Vegas escapades. Noah told Fancy he was disgusted by her for getting his dad fired because of her grievances with him. Fancy tried to explain, but to no avail. After Noah stormed out Alistair cautioned Fancy that he hoped she didn't harbor any romantic designs on Noah.

At the airport, Luis consoled Sheridan as the two realized that Beth had successfully escaped with Marty. Sheridan broke down and called Luis a "miserable failure" for breaking his promise to catch Beth and return Marty to her. Luis apologized to Sheridan for not believing in her sooner where Marty and Beth are concerned. Sheridan refused to accept his apology, declaring it too little, too late. Back at her cottage, Luis insisted that he will apprehend Beth as soon as she makes a mistake. Sheridan wasn't convinced and reiterated her declaration that the whole situation is "all his fault."

On the Crane grounds, Pilar continued her tirade at Katherine, and ordered Katherine to leave Martin alone. After Katherine left, Pilar called her a sex-starved bitch to Martin and threatened to castrate him if he strays back to her. Martin pledged his faith and commitment to Pilar. The two of them overheard Luis and Sheridan arguing at Sheridan's cottage, and went to investigate. Sheridan told Luis to explain to Martin and Pilar what happened, as Katherine entered the scene. Sheridan accused Luis of having a soft spot for Beth because she was his high school sweetheart. Sheridan said the sight of Luis made her sick and ordered him out of her cottage with an ultimatum: Bring Marty home or don't come back, ever.

Fancy went to Alistair and asked him point blank if she's the reason Sam lost his job. Alistair covered and insisted that Sam has been a thorn in his side for some time. Noah burst into Alistair's office and demanded that he reinstate his father. Fancy watched from the sidelines as Noah and Alistair faced off. Noah lost his temper and punched Alistair until Alistair's guards arrived. Alistair then introduced Noah to an embarrassed Fancy.

At the wharf, Theresa mulled over Alistair's indecent proposal when she ran into Ethan. He apologized for asking Theresa to leave the mansion. Theresa told Ethan about Alistair's advances. Ethan exploded in rage, and warned Theresa to not get involved with Alistair.

On the Crane grounds, Katherine caught up with Martin to check on his safety. Martin and Katherine regretted the commitments they found themselves in with Pilar and Alistair, respectively. They engaged in a passionate kiss as Pilar arrived on the scene. Pilar angrily confronted them and told off Katherine for her duplicity. Martin insisted that Pilar shouldn't blame Katherine for what happened. Pilar declared that Katherine is as evil as Alistair.

While Beth made her getaway up the coast to the airport with Marty, Luis consoled a distraught Sheridan at the lake shore. Beth arrived at the airport, where one of Alistair's minions escorted her onto Alistair's awaiting jet. Luis and Sheridan followed Beth to the airport, where Luis roughed up one of Alistair's minions, demanding answers. But Luis and Sheridan were too late — Beth's plane had already taken off.

Jessica settled into Spike's place. Spike sweet-talked and manipulated Jessica into thinking that they're in a serious and happy relationship. When Spike cried poor mouth, Jessica offered to get a job to help him out financially, but was shocked to discover that the "job" Spike had in mind was prostitute!

Sam was reeling from being fired as police chief. Noah privately admitted to Ethan that Sam probably was fired because of him and Fancy. Sam's children all rallied around him and pledged their support. Ivy pumped Fancy on what she told Alistair. Fancy recounted her experiences with the "boy" in Vegas, and how she bashed him to Alistair. Once Ivy learned the boy she was Noah, Ivy exploded on Fancy and accused her of being responsible for putting the Bennett family in jeopardy. Fancy accused Ivy of overreacting, but Ivy explained to Fancy the frightening lengths that Alistair would go to to defend Fancy's honor. Ivy rushed to the Bennett house, where her worst fears were confirmed by Sam.

Alistair invited Theresa to make "four for four" among the Crane men and sleep with him, too, in exchange for his help in getting Jane back. Theresa insisted she could get Jane back on her own, but Alistair cautioned there's no way she can do that without his power. Theresa realized that Alistair must hold the proof that Gwen and Rebecca were the ones responsible for Ethan's paternity scandal in the tabloids. Alistair continued tempting Theresa with his "indecent proposal," but Theresa refused.

On the lake, Sheridan's boat exploded after it crashed into some logs. Luis abandoned his pursuit of Beth and Marty to search for Sheridan. Luis rescued Sheridan from the water and brought her aboard his boat. The two of them continued their pursuit of Beth. Beth made it to shore where she was stopped by some of Alistair's agents, including a corrupt cop, who helped to stall Luis and Sheridan while Beth made her getaway with Marty in tow. Sheridan had a breakdown when she realized that Alistair's men were responsible for helping Beth escape.
