PASSIONS Recaps Week of Nov. 28, 2005Friday, December 2, 2005 Fancy drop-kicked Fox to the floor to get her brother’s attention and berated him for the selfish way he’s been acting with Kay. Fox insisted he’s so ambitious and focused on winning the competition against Chad because he wants to provide for Kay and Maria. Fancy said that was bull, accused him of doing it for his own greed and hunger for power and said he was no better than Alistair. After bickering some more, Fox told Fancy to butt out. Julian called Fancy and Fox and invited them to come to the hospital to say goodbye to Ethan before the plug is pulled. Fancy became enraged when Fox said he had to stay at the office to meet an important deadline. Fancy accused him of having messed-up priorities and stormed out. At the hospital, Ethan’s loved ones emotionally prepared to pull the plug on him. Several of them spent private time with Ethan, including Julian and Pilar. Sam and Ivy reassured Gwen that she won’t be facing pulling the plug alone. Sheridan decided to call Father Lonigan to come administer the last rites. Rebecca caused a scene by demanding that Theresa be held accountable for what’s happened. Ivy agreed with her but suggested that now was not the appropriate time. Rebecca apologized and spent a tearful moment saying goodbye to Ethan. Father Lonigan arrived and suggested that everyone join him in the chapel for prayer before he administers the last rites. At the chapel, Sam, Julian and Sheridan took turns saying a few words about Ethan. Father Lonigan asked everyone to follow him back to Ethan’s room to perform the last rites. Noah and Theresa were also making their way to Ethan’s room. Liz found Julian alone in Eve’s office, where he had called Fancy and Fox. Liz disrobed in front of Julian and told him to make love to her. Julian was aghast, and apologized for what happened in the past, but said he wouldn’t make love to her now if she were the last woman left alive. Liz then threatened to kill Eve if he didn’t have sex with her immediately.
After convincing him to help her kidnap Ethan, Theresa and Noah went to buy an ambulance. The salesman peppered them with questions, and first accused them of fronting for a celebrity after they told him they were from California. The salesman grew suspicious of them, and refused to take Theresa’s check. Theresa shocked the salesman by offering to pay cash. When the salesman checked the bills and realized they weren’t counterfeit, he happily closed the deal. After suiting up in paramedic uniforms Noah insisted that he call Fancy to tell her what they’re about to do because he made a pact with her to never hide anything or keep secrets, but Theresa said it would be too risky and dangerous to tell her. Theresa promised he could call her once they had Ethan safe and sound at the Crane cabin.
Thursday, December 1, 2005 At the wharf, Theresa begged Noah to help her kidnap Ethan and save him from being killed by Gwen. Noah articulated all of the reasons why it was right to allow Gwen to turn off Ethan’s life support. In desperation Theresa dangled money in front of him and offered to pay Noah whatever he wanted. Noah accused Theresa of being obsessed with Ethan. When Noah admitted how much he admired Theresa’s brother, Luis, Theresa shamelessly played the Luis card and suggested to Noah that he should help Theresa kidnap Ethan out of respect for his feelings for Luis and what Luis stood for. Noah continued to try to talk Theresa out of her “crazy idea,” but she refused to give it up. Theresa was finally able to persuade Noah to help her kidnap Ethan after she asked him to imagine the lengths he’d be willing to go to if he was in her position and Fancy was the one in a coma. At the hospital, everyone paid Ethan a tearful farewell before Gwen turned off his respirator. Ivy freaked out and plugged it back in. Ivy broke down and apologized for her actions, saying she was wondering if maybe Ethan’s condition had improved since his last set of tests. Eve offered to run another set of tests if Gwen approved. Gwen said that everyone needs to be at peace with the decision to turn off his life support, and gave her blessing to have new tests conducted. As Eve conducted the tests everyone silently prayed for a miracle recovery. Chris consoled Sheridan and asked her to let him take care of her the way she has taken care of him. Sheridan consoled Gwen and told Gwen about how Luis appeared to her on the beach and told her to move on with her life. Sheridan suggested that Gwen be prepared to move on with her own life if Eve comes back with bad news from the new set of tests. Eve finally returned and announced that Ethan’s condition remained unchanged.
Wednesday, November 30, 2005 Noah struggled with Fancy's harsh opinion about Theresa. They began fighting about Theresa and Alistair. Before Fancy left for her office, she made Noah promise that Theresa will not come between them; he did. Theresa told her little sis that she needed to be alone. While Theresa cried about disappointing Ethan, the Mystery Woman offered comfort. When Theresa asked her if she knew Alistair, the woman revealed blood in her hand from digging her nails into her palm. The woman told Theresa that she's seen Alistair in the papers. Theresa explained why she wanted her husband dead, and now the man she loves is going to die. The woman told her to stop it from happening. "Yes you can, Theresa," uttered the woman in white before she disappeared. Theresa prayed for an answer about how she can save Ethan. Just then, Noah walked up and asked how she's doing. He told her he understands why she tried to kill Alistair and that she's not evil. They hugged. She asked him to help her kidnap Ethan. Eve filled Sheridan in on the goings on with Ethan. Sheridan prepared to say bye to him. In Ethan's hospital room, Sheridan cried to Chris and worried about Gwen having to make the decision to end her husband's life. Ivy, Sam and Gwen met up with Eve in her office, where the doc asked them if they agreed to take Ethan off of life support. They asked Dr. Russell if she was positive that Ethan's condition is irreversible; she confirmed. Gwen wished Ethan had never made a living will. Simone visited Aunt Irma (Marla Gibbs) for her birthday and gave her a book about African-American history. Irma shared memories from her childhood and discrimination. While the women bonded, Irma told Simone that she's pretty. Simone told her aunt that she feels like she doesn't fit in because she's a lesbian. "I can't believe you're one of them," the elderly woman responded. She then told Simone she never wants to see her again. Simone went to the Book Café to vent to a working Paloma, who comforted her upset friend. At her office, Fancy cried about Ethan. She pulled out a picture of Noah and said she loves him.
Tuesday, November 29, 2005 At the wharf, Spike took advantage of Jessica’s insecurities and tried to cozy up to her. When Simone didn’t show up, Jessica text-messaged Simone only to witness Spike’s cell phone ring. Spike covered and said it was a coincidence. Spike begged an ambivalent Jessica to come back to him and restart their “relationship.” Theresa pleaded with Sam and played on his paternal instincts to prevent Gwen from pulling the plug on Ethan. Gwen attempted to throw Theresa out of the house, but Sam stopped her and asked to hear what Theresa had to say. Sam decided that waiting a little longer wouldn’t hurt....Theresa’s success at swaying Sam’s opinion infuriated Gwen. Theresa urged everyone to believe in miracles. Upstairs, Fancy and Noah overheard the ruckus and came down to investigate. Fancy slapped Theresa and told her to butt out and accused her of being responsible for her brother Ethan’s condition and for trying twice to kill her grandfather. Theresa explained to Fancy that Ethan was poisoned accidentally, and admitted that she did try to kill Alistair twice. But Theresa informed Fancy that her murderous acts were merely attempts at self-defense because Alistair is constantly raping her. Theresa begged Sam to help her stop Gwen and file an injunction with her. Ivy pleaded with Sam to reconsider. An emotionally conflicted Sam kept everyone on the edges of their seats as he took a moment to reason out everything in his own mind. In the end, Sam surprised Theresa by ultimately siding with Gwen and Ivy, and giving Gwen his blessing to execute Ethan’s living will.
Monday, November 28, 2005 Alistair spooked Theresa by telling her that Gwen was in the process of completing the necessary paperwork to activate Ethan’s living will. Theresa frantically called the ICU to check on Ethan, only to be turned away because she isn’t a relative. Alistair then broke the news to her that Ethan was still very much alive, and taunted her about her emotional state. Theresa made a beeline to Judge Reilly’s office and demanded that he intervene to save Ethan before it’s too late. When the judge balked she reminded him that she’s Alistair Crane’s wife and blackmailed him into helping her. But Alistair called the judge’s chambers to put the kibosh on Theresa’s plans. Privately Judge Reilly’s assistant suggested a legal path that Theresa might be able to pursue to stop Gwen before it’s too late. Sam and Jessica had a heart-to-heart as she prepared for her first therapy session. Jessica began to question her past choices and actions while Sam lent a supportive ear and shoulder. Crane Security delivered a defiant Spike to Alistair, who put the fear of God into him by threatening to fire or even kill Spike if he’s not soon successful at “doing some real damage” to the Bennett family. Gwen paid Ivy and Sam a visit to break the news to them about Ethan’s condition and prognosis. Ivy asked Gwen if it was necessary to pull the plug on Ethan. Gwen reluctantly said yes, and said it’s the hardest thing she’s ever had to face in her life. Gwen broke the news to Ivy and Sam that she finalized the authorization to carry out Ethan’s living will. Gwen’s surprise visit delayed Sam taking Jessica to her therapy session. Jessica felt hurt and left out when Sam asked her to wait in the other room while he conferred privately with Gwen and Ivy about Ethan’s condition. Gwen asked Sam and Ivy for their blessing in her decision to pull the plug. Just then Theresa burst in and shocked Sam and Ivy by informing them they could help her save Ethan’s life if they wanted to. While waiting for Sam, Jessica received a text message from Spike pretending to be Paloma, saying she needs to talk at the wharf. Jessica decided since therapy was nearby, she’d go to therapy on her own and see “Paloma” afterward. At the wharf, Jessica was surprised by Spike. Jessica ordered him to stay away from her, but Spike tried the warm and caring approach and began to get Jessica to put her guard down with him. Kay dreamed about making love to Fox at the office. Tabitha woke her up, and warned Kay that the spell she cast will soon start to work, and it won’t be long before Fox no longer needs or wants Kay anymore. Meanwhile Valerie set her sights on Fox at the office, scheming to steal him away from Kay and be head of Crane Industries with Fox one day.
