Tabitha zapped up Mother Goose to babysit Endora and Maria while she rushed to stop Kay from accepting Fox's proposal. Before leaving, Tabs used her magic to dress herself up. She soon showed up at the Seascape, and interrupted Kay, Fox and Ari the astrologist. Ari put her foot in her mouth by saying the person who told Kay it wasn't the right time to get engaged is a dimwit. Tabs used her magic to expose the fraud by spilling water on her papers, and making books appear in her handbag. The woman ran out. Tabby privately reiterated to Kay that she cannot get engaged yet. Lenox turned the astrologist into a frog just before Fox caught up to her. Tabitha made Kay promise not to get engaged yet, or else she won't turn the frog back into Ari. Kay told Fox she doesn't want to risk getting engaged yet. When they hugged, the lights dimmed. Tabitha knew it was the dark side ready to ruin the couple's future.
In Hawaii, Sheridan told Chris that she's ready to become engaged. He bent down on his knee and popped the question again. She said yes, and he slipped the ring on her finger. At the restaurant, Kay opened her gift from Fox. Just as Kay thought he was going to propose, Fox surprised her with an astrologist, who gave them a reading. Theresa continued in her campaign to get Ethan to push aside his pride and come on as co-CEO at Crane Industry. Ethan didn't like the idea of working at her side, even if it would be a chance to turn Crane into a source of good. Theresa insisted he could feel how right she was in his bones. He admitted the offer was "entrancing" and all he's ever wanted, as she had contended, but turned away. Then Theresa made the mistake of bringing love into it and calling Gwen "a mistake." He considered her theory that Gwen was responsible for outing him as a Bennett ridiculous and said he'd "have to" stick to his marriage vows. "That's how you talk about a prison sentence," Theresa shot back, outlining the power of real love. She insisted all her machinations were for Ethan and their love. "It's the kind of love they write about in great novels," she said and Ethan finally admitted he felt it "in every fiber of my being" and wished he could make love to her nonstop, but that he would never forgive himself if he became that guy. Theresa said his love for Gwen was a candle to their bonfire. She continued that she was in the same prison he was choosing for himself, but that, unlike him, she was alone in her. She told him she was married to him in her heart and would never be with someone else. "It's time to give up wishing for what we can't have," he said, begging her to move on for his benefit. He was confident that she could find love if she let go of him. Theresa concluded that if he wouldn't divorce Gwen, she could be his secret mistress. That way, he could fulfill his obligation without losing their love.
Fancy wasn't pleased to see Maya in her hospital room and asked Noah to tell her their big story, as he was about to when the car drove into the diner. Maya of course insisted he keep quiet, but Fancy fell asleep before Noah had to make a decision. Outside the room, Ivy and Sam caught Julian up on Fancy's accident and the fear that she may lose her eye. Eve wasn't able to provide any comforting news. Noah came out to update the group that Fancy had briefly woken u[, which was comforting, but Julian and Ivy seemed quite stuck on "beautiful" Fancy losing her eye. When Noah muttered that it was his fault, Sam jumped on him. He remained suspicious of Maya's mugging and insisted Noah and Maya level with him. Noah denied anything was going on, but then slipped and said, "Before I drag anyone into this…" Sam warned that the violence was only going to continue and, when Noah asked for time, mentioned all the "dangerous" secrets floating around Harmony. Later, Maya joined Noah at Fancy's bedside. As Fancy slept, Maya reminded him that what they know would put Fancy or Sam in danger. He didn't want to lie to Fancy after all they'd been to and said everyone was already in danger. "We should have gone to the police," he said and reminded her that she'd had to convince him not to when they'd seen the murder. He told his sleeping girlfriend that he loved her and would tell her everything, which made Maya fear for their lives.
The parents, meanwhile, worried after them outside the room. Sam conjectured that these attacks were separate from the murder attempts on Alistair and, long ago, Julian, because they lacked cunning. "Tonight was brute violence, pure and simple," he explained and added that he felt Fancy was an innocent bystander. He suspected Noah was the target at the diner. This turned the convo to Alistair and Julian's murder attempts. Julian wondered if he was still in danger, even though he'd become a better person, which made Sam question whether those two events were connected.
Chris wooed and pleaded with Sheridan to wear his engagement ring and be his wife, but Sheridan was unsure. He of course took this as a denial, but Sheridan explained that after all her disappointment, she was terrified to accept and set herself up for another one. He reminded her that Luis hadn't let her down, but she countered that Luis was dead - the ultimate let down! She went onto rehash Alistair's torments and the difficulty of growing up in the public eye as "the luckiest girl in the world." She admitted she used to fantasize about Princess Sheridan, the inaccurate persona the media created of her. When she said she'd dreamed Princess Sheridan would grow up to find love and a happy family, Chris interrupted to say that she had found that in him and James. He apologized for rushing her and promised she'd have it all once they found Marty. He left the proposal on the table, saying she could accept it whenever she was ready, and suggested they take a romantic walk on the beach in honor of Valentine's Day. When he left to change, she admitted to herself that she loved him and wondered if she'd made "the biggest mistake of my life."
Liz spoke to a comatose Alistair, reveling in the fact that he was unprotected and vulnerable. "You're weak, you're nothing and you can't hurt me again!" she cried. Then she flashed back to New Years. Alistair had threatened to expose her secret to Eve and ruin her and she's responded that he couldn't do that if he were "dead first." Alistair had taunted her, saying her secret might even make Eve happy, until she started hitting him. Liz snapped out of the memory and again berated his motionless form. "After all this time, I will have my revenge," she stormed. She monologued about the joy she would take in killing him. "Bon voyage Alistair. You're on a midnight train to hell," she said and pulled the plug on his medical equipment!
