PASSIONS Recaps Week Of Feb. 20, 2006

Noah told Fancy about his history with Maya, starting with how popular he was in college and how Maya had changed his life. She'd played damsel in distress to his characteristic heroism, but he'd soon found he was in over his head. Just as he started to tell Fancy what he and Maya had seen, Maya interrupted. Noah insisted she back off. Maya then admitted there was more to the story. "Trouble seems to find me wherever I go," she whined, and Noah couldn't deny it had followed her to Harmony. Maya revealed that the bad guys contacted her, warning them to keep quiet. "They want us all dead," she fretted. Noah stormed back into the hospital room to tell all, but was stopped in his tracks when he saw that the rose he'd left on Fancy's pillow had been replaced by a bullet!

Gwen and Ethan tried to work through his frustration. She remained excited about her big interview and he gifted her his briefcase, but he couldn't shake that "emasculated" feeling. He was letting his "fragile male ego get bruised," he admitted. Gwen wasn't thrilled that the briefcase had Ethan's initials, but then happily announced that she'd by her own with her first paycheck. Ethan flinched.

Pilar almost caught Martin with Katherine, but then realized it was already midnight, which meant it was their "wedding" day. After some warm words through the door, he passed her wedding shoes out to her. She asked for a kiss through the door and unknowingly left him with Katherine, who continued her campaign to get him back. He told Katherine he also loved Pilar and owed this to her, but Katherine remained convinced he was making a mistake and acting out of guilt. A frustrated Martin noted everything was Alistair's fault and Katherine agreed, hoping he would stay in his coma. She added that she had no reason to sacrifice their love anymore, but Martin remained committed to doing the "right thing," and asked her to go. She refused, crying that he wanted to get away because, "You don't trust that you'll be able to resist me." He gruffly denied it and left her in his room.

Theresa continued with her plan to get Gwen a job, even putting together a contract for Gwen's new employer. After a satisfying romantic fantasy of getting Ethan back, her mom returned. Pilar was suspicious when she found the contract for Collier & Co and quickly figured out Theresa was up to no good. No surprise, she was not pleased to hear Theresa's big plan. She begged her daughter to stop trying to destroy Ethan and Gwen's sacred vows and even compared Theresa to Katherine, but Theresa didn't see it that way. While Katherine had stolen a man in love with five kids, "I'm trying to get back what's rightfully mine," she insisted. Pilar wasn't convinced and didn't even believe that Theresa's plan would work. She noted that Theresa had a career, just like Gwen would, but Theresa countered that she would hand all Crane matters over to Ethan and be his stay-at-home woman. Then, she suddenly made an about face, telling Pilar that she was right and that she was going to drop her plan. She was lying, of course.

Tabitha took up her position at the bowl to "zoom in on Kay," who turned out to be right behind her at the door with Fox. When Fox went up to take a shower, Tabitha started in on Kay about helping Theresa. Kay assured her she wouldn't put her relationship with Fox in jeopardy, but Tabitha wasn't convinced. While Fox undressed for his shower, Kay took a call from Miguel (in her sexy bra, of course). He told her he keeps just barely missing Charity and would catch up to her soon, but eavesdropping Tabitha took the credit for keeping them apart. When Miguel asked after Maria, Kay said, "She's beautiful, just like her dad." He concluded that he was too close to finding Charity to return for his parents' ceremony, so Kay suggested Theresa's new power could come in handy with his search and said everyone missed him. Kay grumbled over him chasing after Charity and said it was a shame since he's such a great guy. Tabitha licked her lips over the disaster brewing with Kay in love with both Miguel and Fox. Kay then had a spicy dream about Miguel, who told her he belonged with her and Maria. She tried to deny him because of Fox and started moaning both their names. Lucky for her, Fox only heard his own name, which turned him on.

Gwen was over the moon about her new job prospect. "I'd be making enough to support us," she cheered, but Ethan rolled his eyes and suggested she slow down. "It's like this job was tailor-made for me," she insisted. Ethan remained cautious. He warned that a job would keep her away from Jane. She pointed out he wasn't free to work until his contract expired and finally called him out for picking on her. Ethan admitted he was frustrated that he can't get an interview for all his efforts when she got one out of the blue. "It's not bad, it's different," he said of their new situation, but Gwen promised that he'd be out of the home and in a corner office soon enough. She was clearly looking forward to being a working woman as she passed Jane off to him and set out to look for an interview suit. Ethan railed against Theresa. Gwen was relieved to hear it and said Theresa was just pushing them closer together. He tried to be positive, but remained negative.

Downstairs, Theresa walked in on the showdown between Pilar, Katherine and Rachel. She agreed with Martin that things would calm down after the ceremony, and she sent Martin home to sleep away from his bride before the event. Katherine asked for one moment before he left, but Pilar pushed him to the door and sent him off. She swore Katherine wouldn't get in the way again. Theresa, meanwhile, turned her attention on Katherine and Rachel. She warned that if either of them made another move on Martin she would kick them both out. Then she noted that they'd all "had Alistair — or should I say, he's had us, so I deeply empathize with the two of you." She concluded that they are welcome family members, but if they crossed Pilar she wasn't beyond "having you both shipped back to Boston in matching pine boxes." Pilar entered on the tail end and instead of criticizing Theresa, she only added that Katherine and Rachel shouldn't be around for the ceremony. Pilar was impressed with Theresa and relieved Martin was away from Katherine. Theresa sent her up to bed for some beauty sleep and got back to scheming to get Ethan back, "no matter who gets hurt." She checked in with Mr. Collier and thanked him for interviewing Gwen. She put on the hard sell, saying that once he hires Gwen she can be the one working late. He warned that they have low turnover because people actually liked working there, but Theresa insisted he hire Gwen. She promised Collier would get every Crane project they bid on. Once she hung up, she sat back and reveled in the new powers she had. Then she tittered over her plan to step in and be the full-time mother Ethan wanted for Jane.

Rachel, meanwhile, continued to push Katherine to make her play for Martin, but feared it might be too late. They both knew any chance was gone once he'd renewed his vows to Pilar. Katherine ultimately set out to "give it everything I've got." She showed up in his room and begged him to be with her instead of Pilar. Then she planted a hot kiss on him and he responded, only to pull away and say Pilar was his woman. She said he was "so noble," but that Pilar deserved more and their memories were too precious to bury. He admitted he loved her and the kissing got a bit further this time. Too bad Pilar's knock on the door interrupted them! He told Katherine to hide, but she wanted to be caught. Suspicious that he told her to wait, Pilar started to open the door….

In Hawaii, Chris wondered whether Sheridan was truly prepared to get married. Sheridan said while she still thinks of Luis, she’s totally ready. They asked Lenny and Harold to be their witnesses as Otto listened in. On the beach, Sheridan called a halt to their ceremony just after the justice of the peace began because she realized she had nothing borrowed, and worried about the bad luck it would being. Chris then borrowed a shell necklace from one of the natives. The ceremony resumed, Sheridan and Chris exchanged wedding bands, and the justice pronounced them husband and wife. The justice announced that he had never seen a couple as happy as Chris and Sheridan. The newlyweds retired to their hotel room, which Chris had decorated, and they made love, as Lenny, Harold and Otto watched together.

Rachel grilled Martin about which woman he envisioned growing old with — Pilar or Katherine. When Martin wouldn’t answer, Rachel insisted that the woman he was imagining was Katherine. Martin conceded that he loved Katherine but that they were always living on borrowed time in a relationship that was never meant to be. Rachel worked to convince Katherine to fight for her relationship with Martin.

Pilar warned Katherine to stay away from Martin and stop pining after him. She accused Katheriine of inflicting enough pain on her and her family for a lifetime. Katherine said she never meant to hurt anyone, and insisted if Pilar truly loved Martin she wouldn’t force him to go through with this “sham” of a vow-renewal ceremony. Katherine said no one was to blame for what happened, including her and Martin falling in love. Pilar dismissed Katherine's "relationship" as nothing more than playing mistress to Martin, who entered the room and interrupted their heated argument. Martin and Pilar’s wedding planner arrived and mistook Katherine for Martin’s bride by the way she and Martin looked at each other. Pilar beamed to Martin that tomorrow would be a new beginning to their life together while shooting a death glare at Katherine and Rachel.

At Crane Industries, Fox asked Valerie who she was talking to before he entered the room. Valerie suggested he was imagining things while Ivy hid behind the desk. After Fox stepped away, Ivy told Valerie the key to breaking up Fox and Kay is getting Miguel to return to town. Theresa was surprised when Kay offered advice on how to get Ethan back. Theresa said she thinks she’s finally out of ideas. Kay said sooner or later either she or Gwen have to let up. Theresa vowed it would not be her who blinks. Theresa got a call from Miguel who said he couldn’t make Martin and Pilar’s vow-renewal ceremony. Fox was surprised to overhear the advice Kay gave Theresa to break up Ethan and Gwen’s marriage. Kay denied it until Fox told her he overheard it. Fox was appalled by Kay’s actions and told her he was disappointed in her. Kay covered and showed him an article she was reading to Theresa from a woman’s magazine. Fox said he understood but warned this his mother wouldn’t be nearly as understanding if she found out that Kay was even unintentionally helping Theresa. Kay lamented that all of her efforts backfired. Valerie told Ivy she’s had no luck in tracking down Miguel’s wherebouts but learned that he called Theresa a short while ago. Ivy gloated that Miguel would be responsible for Kay and Fox's split.

As Gwen and Ethan prepared for bed, Ethan searched the Internet for new job listings. Gwen reassured Ethan that he’d find something soon enough, and lured him back to bed. A newly-inspired Theresa called one of her business contacts and forced him to send Gwen a job offer. Ethan and Gwen got an e-mail from a headhunter with an unbelievable job offer. Gwen arranged to take the interview the next day, but Ethan was less than enthusiastic about the possibility. When Theresa received news of the meeting, she beamed that soon Ethan would be hers.

Rachel urged Katherine to fight for Martin. Meanwhile, after overcoming Martin's objections, Theresa convinced her parents to renew their vows at the Crane mansion. Theresa could finally give her mother the lavish ceremony that she had always wanted. Theresa was called to the office. Pilar ordered Katherine to stay away from the ceremony — and Martin — but Katherine refused. After prodding from Rachel to picture his future, Martin had a vision of growing old with...

Fox told Kay that while he wanted to marry her now, she was worth the wait. Ivy visited Valerie at the office and ordered her to get moving on her search for Miguel. Valerie relayed a rumor that Miguel might return to town for Martin and Pilar's vow renewal. She got Valerie to text message Fox and ask him to go to the office, in hopes of causing strife between Fox and Kay. Meanwhile, Kay questioned Tabitha about her age when her powers began to fade. Then Kay traveled to Crane Industries to tell Fox about Fancy's accident. Theresa arrived and promised Kay that, no matter what, she would always have a job at Crane. Kay compared Miguel's quest to reunite with Charity to Theresa's obsession with Ethan, while Valerie found information on Miguel on the Internet. Apparently, he had been working on Wisteria Lane as a gardener (cute Jesse Metcalfe reference!). Kay warned that with her aggressive tactics, Theresa was actually hurting her chances with Ethan. Kay had some ideas that might work instead.

As Tabitha watched, Chris and Sheridan found Otto's hideout. When Chris and Sheridan overheard that the "guests" at the house were about to be sent to another locale, they decided that the transfer would be the perfect opportunity to nab her son. Chris informed Sheridan that he couldn't help her find Marty. If something happened, who would care for James? And who would care for Marty if she was killed? Chris suggested they get married immediately so they both could have legal rights to the children, and she agreed.
