PASSIONS Recaps Week of March 20, 2006

Fancy and Noah pushed Agent Morrison for more information on Alistair's plot, but he just repeated that thousands would be affected if he couldn't get into the Crane files and that he needed to talk to Theresa. He refused to expand on what kind of catastrophe he was trying to avert. After Sam warned that Theresa "may hate Alistair, but she loves the power of Crane," he got Theresa to join them. She was still brooding over the fact that Ethan had helped Gwen finish her work, which meant they could get back to their romantic evening sooner (which they did). After Morrison explained the situation, she questioned how opening up the files would affect business, then boiled it down to, "What would Ethan do?" When she gave her approval, Fancy asked how she could put Alistair's company in danger. "It is my duty," Theresa responded and then she outlined a new Crane Empire, "a force for good instead of evil." Her one caveat was that "Chief Bennett" assist in the investigation and find proof that Alistair killed her brothers. Morrison warned that once she gave access, there was no going back and promised it would remain a covert investigation. Theresa realized this was the perfect way to get Ethan involved. She suggested Morrison reel Ethan in to be their inside guy at Crane (which would mean he'd be back at work) and asked him not to tell Ethan it was her idea. After they came to an agreement, a farklempt Fancy went up to bed but Sam asked Noah to stay back. He put his son on notice, warning, "Now that I'm chief of police. I won't just be investigating Alistair." He begged Noah to tell him what he was involved in before he found out on his own.

After a lovely lovemaking sessions, Gwen freaked out over the realization that Theresa could use her influence to get her fired and keep both of unemployed — making it very clear she wasn't onto Theresa's real plan. Ethan promised, "No matter how desperate I get, I am not — I repeat, not — going work at Crane."

The crew with Whitney assumed her conversation with God was a hallucination caused by the fever but she remained convinced He wanted her to whip herself to wash away her sins. Chad said she was "tripping," and the Mother Superior reminded her that she'd mistaken a flashlight for God, but Whitney said God's light was unmistakable and took everyone to the chapel. She recapped her meeting with the omniscient Lighted One, but the wall didn't come down for her this time. Whitney was giddy with religious fervor and told God (a.k.a the wall) that her family thought she was crazy. "Just overwrought," Eve corrected. Her fervor turned into tearful insistence as the family ushered her out of the room to rest. Once they had her down, the group discussed the situation and the possible explanations for Whitney's "sightings." Whitney, finally asleep, dreamed of a room from the PassionsVendetta.com mystery videos.

Luis asked a nurse for help in getting, "the best medicine there is." When she left him, he dreamed of all the lifetimes in which he and Sheridan had lost each other and swore they'd make it this time. Outside his room, Chris tried to convince himself Luis wasn't a threat, but then saw his wife remove her wedding ring. She again said she was just trying to protect Luis from the truth until he could handle hearing that she was Chris' girl. Having recognized the connection between Luis and Sheridan, Chris asked her to be sure about her feelings. Sheridan explained that it had been over with Luis before he left because he hadn’t believed her about Marty. "You're my future. Not Luis," she insisted and promised they'd tell Luis when he was strong enough. They returned to Luis' room to find him freshly shaven for a special occasion. Then a man arrived and recognized Sheridan, who was more than a bit confused about what was going on. Luis finally explained, "Well, first, I thought you died in a boat explosion. Then you thought that Alistair had killed me. Then Antonio got in the way, and after that it was Beth. Well, I wanted to make it official before anyone else gets in the way. That's why I called the Justice of the Peace here so that he could make it official and marry us tonight." Wowser.

A shirtless Miguel lounged in bed, mulling over his decision to stay in Harmony. He turned out the light to go to sleep, but unfortunately, he couldn't sleep over the sounds of Fox and Kay canoodling next door. He tried to shrug it off, but then had a fantasy that he was the one making out with her, so he went for a cold shower. By the time he returned, the couple was basking in the afterglow and all was quiet. When Maria started crying, he went to check on her — and so did Fox. That left Kay to have a sexy dream, during which she said, "I love you." She woke with a start when she realized it was Miguel. In the nursery, Miguel couldn't calm Maria, so Fox showed him how it was done. "That's amazing," he marveled, but Fox said, "She's just used to me."

Gwen was back at her computer, but still couldn't concentrate. When Ethan noticed the computer cam, Gwen explained that Collier had it set up for international meetings, but when the pair started making out, it was revealed that Theresa was using it to watch them. She called Collier, waking him up to demand he get Gwen back to work. He said he had no more projects and called her crazy. "You don't know the half of it," she sneered. "And trust me, you don't want to find out." Collier begrudgingly called Gwen and told her he needed the reports by morning, instead of next week. "So much for our romantic evening," Gwen told Ethan. Theresa was thrilled to see Gwen get back to work, but had to stop gloating when her mother came in. Pilar was hurting over the breakup with Martin and wasn't looking forward to seeing Katherine around, but she was quickly distracted by Theresa's spy-cam set up. She insisted this was "the worst" of all her machinations, but Theresa only said it was working. When Pilar bemoaned not teaching her right from wrong, Theresa fumed, "You taught me how to be a survivor, Mama, and that is much more important. Now, please, let me listen." What she heard was Gwen joking about killing her and then Ethan offering to help Gwen with her work. Needless to say, Theresa was upset by the turn of events, but wasn't ready to give up. Disgusted, Pilar said she was turning into Alistair. Theresa ultimately admitted that to get Ethan, "I'll do whatever it takes. If that means becoming Alistair Crane, so be it." Pilar couldn't believe Theresa didn't recognize that "whatever he possesses he destroys." Then she left in tears because she'd lost her daughter, while Theresa got right back to watching.

Noah and Fancy's sexy skinny dip was interrupted when Fancy saw that they were being watched. Noah pretended to get more wine and when the stranger stepped through the door with a gun, Noah took him down. They wanted to call the police, but the stranger said to call Sam instead. When the ex-chief arrived, he introduced Noah and Fancy to the stranger, a federal agent. The agent explained that he was protecting them and trying to put Alistair in jail, which would be easier now that he was in a coma. Fancy refused to believe her Grampy was evil, but he revealed that the FBI suspected Alistair of being "involved in a plot that could kill thousands," including Harmony locals they knew and loved. Then he asked to meet Theresa in order to gain access to Crane Industries.

Eve, Julian and Chad were up in arms over Whitney's lashings and demanded Mother Superior tell them who was responsible. "Somebody in this place has beaten the hell out of her," Chad grumbled as Eve cried over her. Mother Superior promised to get to the bottom of it. Meanwhile, an unconscious Whitney was dreaming of the recent happenings and started screaming in her sleep. While Eve worked on bringing her fever down and cleaning her infected wounds, she told Mother Superior they were taking Whitney home. Then, Whitney woke up, so everyone fussed over her and asked who "flogged her to the bone." She admitted she'd done it to herself to pay penance. Mother Superior said that was "horrendous" and that self-flagellation was something out of the Dark Ages. Whitney insisted "He" approved, which led to a flashback to her meeting with The Monk. "I talked to God," she told them.

Noah awoke from a memory/nightmare about the Dragon Lady and feared "they" had gotten Fancy, but then his girl arrived with a picnic tray. All was well and they started necking, until Noah had another scare. Fancy calmed him with more kisses and cuddling. "I just wish we — we didn't have to fight in order to feel this happy to be together," Noah sighed. Then Fancy suggested a midnight skinny dip. He raced over to the Crane pool and dove right in, only to surface and find Fancy missing. He panicked again, but then she walked in, having taken the time to put on a robe and grab the champagne. She asked him to chill out and questioned whether he was worried about something specific, so he distracted her with a compliment. As they made out in the pool and reminisced about their first meeting, a man carrying a gun watched.

Whitney tried to get to know the Monk, but he already knew everything about her and her search for "absolution." "No one is beyond redemption," he told her and pushed her to admit her sins with Chad. "I am an abomination," she said. The monk told her he and only he could help her, "but it won't be easy." Then he confronted her about whipping herself, which made it clear to her that he was omniscient and she figured he must be God. "What does your heart tell you?" he repeated until she passed out. When two of the sisters found her, the monk and the room he was in were gone, replaced by a wall with a huge cross on it.

Julian returned home to a sexy Eve, who had a candlelit dinner waiting. They both wanted to count their blessings, but Eve also feared they were too happy for things to stay good. (Good guess!) "All and all, our kids are doing well," she finally agreed, but she was wrong and Chad showed up to prove it. Having dreamt of Whitney disappearing beyond his help, he knew his sis was in trouble. He filled Eve and Julian in on his concerns and Whitney's ill health, but they brushed it off, saying he had to respect her decision to join the convent. Chad refused to let up, insisting his concern was above and beyond their issues. Eve concluded that she was relieved her daughter was somewhere safe. Of course, that's when the Mother Superior called, so the whole crew went straight to the convent, where Whit was still unconscious. Eve slipped quickly into doctor mode, noting Whitney's fever. Then she and Julian turned her on her side and the trio was horrified to see the bloody lashes.

In Hawaii, Chris entered the hospital room in hopes of letting Luis know Sheridan was already spoken for, but his wife instead let Luis believe they were just friends. She filled Luis in on recent happenings in the search for Marty, to which he said, "I'm sorry you only found me." Then he showered Chris with thanks for saving his life and "reuniting me with the woman I love," which clearly stung. The nurse arrived and, annoyed that they'd un-bandaged and were talking to Luis, kicked them out. That gave Chris a chance to confront his wife. She was apologetic and empathized with his anger, but insisted Luis was too weak to hear the truth. "He still needs to believe I'm here for him," she explained and Chris gave in, but questioned her feelings for Luis. Overwhelmed, all she could focus on was the revelation that Luis and Marty were alive. "Like you've been magically catapulted to a time when I wasn't in your life," Chris grumbled. Sheridan professed her love and commitment to their marriage. Just as they started kissing, Luis called for her. "Knowing that you loved me kept me alive," he cooed as Chris listened at the door.

Tabitha arrived home to find Miguel watching Kay and Fox making out on her sofa. Tabitha burst in and busted up the amorous festivities. Miguel presented Kay with a gift for Maria, and then surprised everyone with a gift for Kay — earrings. Miguel said it was his way of saying thanks for raising Maria by herself thus far. Fox told Miguel he admired him for being such a stand-up guy. Tabitha did her best to plant seeds of doubt in Fox’s mind about Miguel while she chatted him up over a cup of tea. At the convent, Whitney woke up to a naked Chad standing before her. He climbed into her bed and began making love to her. Then Whitney really woke up and realized it was another fantasy. Whitney tearfully prayed for help in controlling her “sick desires.” When prayer didn’t help, Whitney left her room to have confession in the sanctuary. When no one was there to receive her confession, she prayed to God in the sanctuary and begged God for help. A vision appeared to Whitney — she asked if it was God. It turned out to be the Mother Superior, who encouraged Whitney to continue praying. After the Mother Superior left, the light/vision returned. The sanctuary walls opened up and a man’s voice commanded Whitney to stay. The voice said he knows Whitney and her heart.

Chad accused Ethan of not being man enough to tell the truth and admit he really wants to be with Theresa. Ethan punched Chad and the two started fighting as Gwen looked on. Theresa entered and Gwen blamed her for what was happening between the two men. Gwen accused Theresa of being shameless and stupid and then slapped Theresa. As Chad and Ethan fought, Chad threw Ethan back and Ethan hit his head on a piece of furniture and passed out. When Ethan came to he became enraged that Theresa incited the whole confrontation between him and Chad. Gwen called Theresa psycho. Theresa defended her actions and behaviors to Gwen and Ethan. After kicking Theresa out an exasperated Gwen demanded that Ethan find a job and get them (including Jane) out of town and away from Theresa pronto.

At the Hawaiian hospital, Sheridan tended to Luis while Chris observed from the doorway. Chris recapped for the audience that Luis has no idea she’s married to him. Sheridan told Luis just having him there is a true miracle and a dream come true. Sheridan told Luis that Otto took Marty away just before the explosion. Sheridan apologized to Luis and said she never should have let Luis go after Marty by himself. Chris fretted quietly from the sidelines, and said to himself that Luis may love Sheridan but she is now HIS wife. Luis said he has no idea where Otto took Marty, and admitted he actually got to hold Marty in his arms before being knocked out and subdued. Chris got angry as he watched Sheridan tenderly kiss Luis. Sheridan explained to Luis that the FBI presented DNA and dental evidence “proving” that the body they found and buried was him. Sheridan suggested that once he’s well again the two will look for Marty together.

Still sipping champagne with Theresa, Miguel admitted he wasn't okay with Maria calling Fox "Daddy." He was ready to make his claim on Maria, but knew he had no claim on Kay. Theresa reminded him that he was Kay's first love and had said he could have loved her, were it not for Charity. He responded that she wasn't his first love and that he and Kay "weren't in love like you and Ethan were." "Were?" Theresa blanched. He suggested that Theresa was projecting her feelings for Ethan onto them. She agreed it could be, but wondered if after seeing Kay with Fox, he'd "suddenly realized that the love of your life isn't Charity, but Kay." She offered to help him land Kay, should he decide he wanted her, but Miguel was still stuck on the fact that Charity didn't love him as much as he loved her. He laughed when he realized both he and his sister were obsessed with the people they loved (duh). Theresa told him Gwen had confessed to the paternity leak and burned the proof, but that she'd find the proof Alistair had hidden away. They left together — Miguel heading to say good night to Maria and Theresa off to check on Ethan and Chad. "Maybe this time next year, we'll both be with the people we love," she said as they walked out.

Jane's crying pulled Gwen away from burning the midnight oil, which made her wonder after Ethan. Unable to work with Jane in her lap, she handed her off to Mrs. Henderson. Downstairs, Ethan was fuming at Chad for questioning his feelings for Theresa and Gwen. "Unlike you and Latoya, I take my wedding vows secretly," he spat, but Chad didn't let up. When Gwen arrived, she jumped right in. "You're going to enlighten Ethan about who he loves more? This coming from the guy who's hot for his half sister?" she chuckled and told him to go back to his "bastard son slash nephew." The back and forth continued until Chad said, "It's too bad you're not man enough to admit you want to be with Theresa." Ethan took the first punch and Theresa walked in just in time to see them start to tussle. Gwen immediately pointed the finger at her, crying, "If you came here to see how well Chad did your dirty work, you're going to have to wait until after Ethan kills him. And then we may just kill you!"

Kay gave Fox a warm welcome, but between Simone's questions to Kay about Miguel and the convo Fox had overheard on the same subject, things were very awkward. Kay kept trying to pump him up, but he was still worried. "I wish everyone could be as happy as we are," Kay said, and Fox empathized with Miguel for losing Charity. Kay said the Lopez-Fitzgeralds were "cursed in love." Then Fox recounted how hurt he'd been by Whitney and asked how she'd dealt with Miguel leaving her for Charity. He was not happy when she responded, "I don't know that I ever got over him," but she then explained that there was never a relationship to get over. She thanked motherhood for helping her get over her obsession and for turning her into a woman. "My woman," Fox joked, but he wasn't smiling when Kay recalled a magical Miguel moment. Her face lit up as she recounted how "warm and safe and special" she'd felt in his arms. Then she concluded that it didn't compare to the true love she feels with Fox and the two hugged it out. Meanwhile, outside, Miguel considered his sister's advice, but decided she was wrong and that Kay was not the one for him. Then he walked in on them making out….

An excited Sheridan sat by Luis' bedside. "We're together again," she said, much to Chris' chagrin. Luis slipped in and out of consciousness, muttering Sheridan's name and telling her Marty had been in the house. Chris stepped aside to make arrangements for the three of them to get back to Harmony while Sheridan cooed to Luis that, "once we have Marty, our lives will be perfect." The nurses gossiped about how sweet Luis and Sheridan were, even if she was married to that other guy. Chris of course came upon them in time to hear them wishing they had love like "soul mates" Shuis did. When he turned his attention back to the hospital room, Luis was finally awake. He listened as Luis called Sheridan "my one true love," and she responded, "You are my love."
