PASSIONS Recaps Week of April 3, 2006

The wall didn't open for her, but Whitney prayed for "God" (a.k.a. The Monk) to take Chad and Miles out of her heart, begging, "please release me from these sick feelings." Chad arrived with Miles just in time to overhear that and questioned how love could be construed as a "sick feeling." He told her he and Miles were there to light a candle for her, because she was lost, and then tried to get Miles to show her how he'd learned to pray. When he wouldn't do it for Whitney, Chad insisted she come home so she doesn't miss anything else. She played the guilt card and that set him off on a monologue about how selfish she was being. "When you're sitting here on your knees praying to God, do you ever ask him to take away our pain?" he shot. He accused her of hiding out while he took Miles everywhere, even though people snickered about "the black Crane and his incest bastard baby." He said Miles was beginning to pick up on being "different" and the fact that his mother "can't stand to be with him." (Go Chad!) A tearful and apologetic Whitney took Miles in her arms. She apologized to Chad and accepted blame for making life even harder on her two boys, but she wouldn't agree to go "back to a life of temptation," no matter what Chad said. She didn't want to go against "God's laws," which made Chad snarl, "It's OK with God that you dump your child to be raised alone without you?" Mother Superior interrupted and, at the behest of Whitney, asked Chad to leave. He obliged, leaving her to beg Mother Superior to give her penance. "What I think you need is to calm down," she said. "Why don't we both go to the kitchen and help Sister Antoinette with lunch, hmm? Spending too much time alone can make you believe in things that aren't there." After the door shut behind them, the Vendetta symbol appeared on the floor.

Before Sheridan could respond to Chris' most recent interrogate about whom she wants to be with, a "lonely" Luis joined them in the living room. Doc Russell tried to send him back to bed, but he insisted being "off his feet" on the couch wasn't any different and then asked why he heard his name. He asked what Sheridan had to tell him, but she was saved by the (door)bell when James and his nanny Mrs. Henderson arrived. James ran into Sheridan's arms, which made Luis smile. Doc interrupted the cuddle fest and brought Sheridan back to the present. Luis assumed the big news she had for him was that James had become her surrogate son, which he understood. When he started talking about finding Marty and becoming a family, Doc Russell made him go back to bed and then had a chat with Chris. In the bedroom, Luis and Sheridan discussed Marty. He said seeing her with James broke his heart, because he knew how much she wanted a family and promised to find their son. Chris walked in just in time to see them kissing. (again) "You're making this into a habit," Luis quipped, before agreeing he needed some rest. Left alone, he talked to a picture of Marty and Sheridan, swearing he'd find Marty and then Sheridan wouldn't "need that little boy James to fill that hole in your heart." The week ended without our learning who Sheridan had chosen.

Taking care of a sick Maria proved difficult for Miguel and after Kay taught him the secret of ear thermometers, he couldn't help but wonder if he should follow his mom's advice and pursue his child's mother. Kay wanted to leave their sick daughter in his care so she could get back to helping Fox at work, but it quickly became apparent Miguel needed her help. (That sure worked out well for him!) The tides turned when she told him Fox was the one who figured out how to make Maria take her medicine. Kay was relieved she now had two guys to help her with Maria. Kay went to leave again, so Miguel stalled her by asking her to show him how to use the thermometer again. Good thing, because Maria's fever had skyrocketed. Kay called Doc Russell, who recommended they give her a "tepid" rubdown and promised to head over. "Mommy and Daddy" worked on Maria together.

A barely-clad Theresa again called newbie mechanic Ethan on avoiding a job at Crane for fear he'd give into his feelings for her. "Every man has got his price. What's yours?" she cooed as she rubbed up against him. When she went in for a passionate kiss, she got it! Of course, Ethan then pulled away. She just pulled him back in, asking him to make love to her, but he wiggled out just before their lips met. She again offered to be his mistress, but he wouldn't let her "lower herself." "I am standing naked in front of you in a garage," she countered. "I don't think I could get much lower." Ethan told her to move on and got back to working under the hood, but Theresa wouldn't let up. She came up behind him and put her arms around him, asking, "Do you need a hand with that tool?" He finally tried to leave, only to find the door was locked. Flashing her coat open, Theresa challenged him to search her. She unzipped his uniform and got him to kiss her again. He lifted her, grabbed her hair and pulled her down on the car hood.

Pilar helped Miguel babysit Maria while Fox and Kay went to work. She suggested Migs break up Fox and Kay so he could marry the mother of his child. Miguel couldn't believe his mother wanted him to break an engagement. He realized Maria had a fever and panicked.

Ethan popped into a local mechanic shop for work. Apparently, working on cars is a hobby of Ethan's that Gwen doesn't know about. He was offered a job as a mechanic.

Noah and Maya bumped into Lena and claimed they have reunited for good. The shady woman gave them a CD with instructions for a job, then left. Noah hoped he will be able to tell Fancy the truth before she moves on with another man.

Theresa complimented Fancy on her clothing designs for Crane Couture. Fox and Kay arrived. Fancy told them she found Noah in bed with Maya. Kay thought cheating was very uncharacteristic of her brother. Theresa and Kay plotted to get Fancy and Noah together to talk. Theresa got a call informing her Ethan is working at a car shop. Kay called Noah and told her to get to Crane Industries. Just when Fancy was on her way out, Noah and Maya showed up. Fox and Kay were frazzled by Maya being there; Fancy was livid. "Why did you bring your slut with you?" Fancy asked. Just as Noah was about to tell Fancy the truth, Lena called Fancy and played a recording of Noah saying, "Fancy Crane means nothing to me at all." An upset Fancy yelled at Noah and stormed out.

Fox and Kay headed to his office, where Kay got a call from Miguel about Maria. Pilar made him lie to her and say she wasn't there anymore. Though she didn't want to, Kay left work to be with Maria.

Theresa showed up at the garage and asked Ethan why he's wasting his life working there. Theresa slyly handed the owner a wad of cash in order to speak with Ethan alone. She pointed out to Ethan that she tempts him, then opened her coat to reveal her naked body.

Chris and Eve walked in on Luis and Sheridan kissing in bed. Eve covered when Chris freaked out. Sheridan and Chris argued in the living room, while Eve examined Luis in the bedroom. Chris told Sheridan she needs to tell Luis the truth or else their marriage is over. Eve discovered wounds on Luis, who explained they are from being tortured. Eve told Sheridan and Chris that Luis was well enough to hear the truth about their marriage. In private, Eve and Sheridan chatted about having to choose between two men. When Dr. Russell asked Sheridan who she loves more, she recalled many happy memories with Luis. When Chris walked in, Sheridan said she's ready to share her decision with him.

Ethan and Gwen were discussing his job hunt over breakfast when Little E, who called asking about help with his T-ball skills, interrupted them. They scheduled a practice for next week, which made Theresa happy. "Has she no shame at all?" Gwen stormed, but Ethan didn't believe Theresa would stoop to using Little E. Then he made the mistake of saying "Theresa's children." Gwen quickly corrected him, saying Little E was Theresa's only child. He reaffirmed that he considered Jane their child, but that Theresa was still the birth mother. Rebecca joined in the convo, so a knowing Ethan said, "You know, there's some vodka over there." Before he left to get ready for the job hunt, there was a misunderstanding that made the ladies think the ruse was up and he knew about their part in his paternity reveal. Gwen was worried, especially with Theresa having access to Alistair's proof — if she can find it! Rebecca, meanwhile, was just as concerned that Gwen would have to choose between Ethan and her job. She had a fantasy that Gwen won "Top Dog of the Year" and that her co-workers sent Ethan to the mall with the wives, which made him agree to help Theresa. In the real world, Ethan was frustrated that no one would hire him. "Right now, I'd be willing to take just about anything."

Theresa was annoyed that Valerie didn't track down proof about Gwen and Rebecca contacting the tabloid and ordered her to do whatever it takes. Valerie returned with news that law firms were calling for references on Ethan and confirmed that she told them, "Ethan is still under contract with Crane and we have every intension of suing any firm that dares to hire him."

Noah sat awake, stewing in his guilt over hurting and losing Fancy and told Maya as much when she woke up. He decided he could be with Fancy and keep her safe at the same time, but Maya stopped him by reminding him that they had to look like a couple to convince Lena he'd come over to the dark side. As he went to leave, Lena called Maya.

Fancy finally got some good news about her eye, though her joy was stifled by the realization that Noah was the one she wanted to tell. Doc Russell removed the patch and Fancy could see. When she left, she swore to herself that she'd get over Noah, only to return to the office and find flowers from him. Theresa stopped by and got the full story on Noah and Maya. She pushed the love conquers all angle, but Fancy wasn’t hearing it. "He played me for a fool," she cried and asked Theresa to distract her by keeping her busy at work. They discussed CraneCouture.com (which launched today) and the news that Alistair was moved to Linden Hill, which discourages visitors. When they saw Ethan's nameplate being removed from the door, Theresa stopped it from happening.

A frustrated Chris woke on the couch without Sheridan next to him, but calmed himself by assuming Luis wasn't up for having sex yet. Of course, that's not how Luis saw it and he soon had Sheridan kissing him. When Chris walked in, they were asleep, because the make out session was actually Luis' dream. As soon as he walked out, Luis started kissing her in his sleep. Sheridan woke in a mini-panic and pulled away. She told him he had to wait till he was strong and jumped out of bed to make him breakfast. In the living room, she found Chris pouring coffee and apologized for falling asleep with Luis. He told her he was losing patience, insisting, "Last night will not happen again." Doc Eve showed up to check in on Luis, but waited for Sheridan to serve him breakfast in bed first. Alone with Chris, she empathized with his situation. Chris admitted he was wondering, "If Luis and Sheridan can ever be with anybody other than each other," and asked how special their love was. "It was almost mythic sometimes," she responded, "but a lot has happened since then." In the bedroom, Sheridan and Luis seemed to be back to the good times. Chris walked in and did not like what he was seeing.

Jessica and Spike discussed her new tattoo, which was that mysterious symbol that's popping up all over town. He refused to tell her what it meant, saying it was simply a symbol of her love. Then he told her she needed to turn a trick so they could pay the tattoo artist. He gave her a fix so she wouldn't be afraid of waking up next to another dead john — of course that's just what happened! She called Spike in a panic and wanted to go to the police, but he told her he'd "take care of everything" and sent her back to their place. Later, as Spike hid the body, The Monk approached. After his initial shock, Spike said, "I've been waiting on you. Where have you been?"

Simone tried to dissuade Paloma from researching the stolen paintings, but Paloma felt she was safe with Alistair still in a coma. She displayed her first clue, the illustrious symbol, pointing out that it was in each painting. Simone couldn't help but become intrigued. When a teary Jessica stumbled in, Paloma hid the file they'd been discussing for fear of Spike getting involved. When Jess reached for sugar, they saw her new tattoo of their symbol! They grilled her, but she had no info to give them.

Whitney stood over the symbol in the chapel and promised to help The Monk keep the church's secrets. Still desperate for "God's" forgiveness, she swore, "Whatever you ask me, I will do." Chad burst in and tried to get her back to bed, but she said she needed to wait for God to return. After Chad carried her away, The Monk did return to wipe away the symbol. Back in Whit's room, she refused to take a painkiller, maintaining the pain was her penance. She was touched that Chad worried after her. "If only things could have been different," she smiled, and he said they still could be. She sadly insisted this was her life now, but Chad pushed, "If this is what you want, why are you crying?" Ultimately, Chad grudgingly left her with a kiss on the forehead.

Tabitha took up her position at the bowl and sent Fox a wake-up bell — literally. Finding himself alone in bed, he set out to look for Kay, who was in the living room. Typically, Fox walked in just in time to catch Kay hugging Miguel over Luis' return and misunderstood what he was seeing. Once he got the story, he apologized for overreacting. Miguel said he would have responded the same way and a watching Tabitha noted he already was. After previewing that things would heat up in the Chris/Sheridan/Luis drama, she joined the trio to lament the events surrounding Luis' return. Never one to miss a chance to stir up trouble, Tabby mused, "A woman doesn't easily get over the love of her life, especially if he happens to be the father of her child." Kay quickly pulled Tabby away to rail at her for her none-too-subtle play and called her out on using witchcraft to push her away from Fox and toward Miguel. The guys, meanwhile also got the "accidental" parallel between the Chris/Sheridan/Luis situation and theirs. Left alone in an uncomfortable silence, they were almost relieved to hear Maria cry. Both jumped up, but Miguel played the Daddy card, leaving Fox alone. A dejected Fox walked into the kitchen just as Tabitha asked who Kay she wanted to be with, with Miguel following in search of a bottle.

At the cottage, Sheridan extricated herself from Luis to "lock up" and found Chris waiting in the living room. "You're my wife and I will not allow you to sleep in the same bed as a man who wants to make love to you," he stormed. She argued that Luis wasn't well enough for any nookie anyway, and promised she'd return to Chris once her ex was asleep. "If anything happened to Luis, it would be hanging over our heads," she warned, so he finally agreed. She eventually slipped away from Luis, as promised, but she was still in his sexy dreams. Chris couldn't help but recognize the bond they shared and asked her who she really wanted to be with. Luis called her back before she could answer. She put the conversation off, saying, "Right now, I need to get in there and you need to trust me."

With the family at Luis' bedside, Chris decided not to tell everyone he was Sheridan's real hubby. His tone left everyone curious about what he was about to say, but Sheridan continued to shoot him that big-eyed "keep your mouth shut" look and he obliged. Everyone moved into the living room and Miguel was sent to get champagne for a toast, because an affectionate Luis wouldn't let "his wife" leave his side. Sheridan felt guilty for demanding Luis look for Marty, but he guffawed, "You think I wouldn't go looking for my own son?" He recounted how he'd used every avenue to find Beth and Marty, traveling from South America to Europe. He'd cornered her in Tangier, but a bop on his head saved her and made him Alistair's hostage. He was drugged and left in cold darkness until he awoke in the warmth of Hawaii. "You were the hope that kept me going," he told Sheridan. A dejected Chris moved to the window, where Sheridan thanked him for keeping quiet. He insisted that Luis could survive the truth now that he had his family's support. Then Pilar and Marty toasted their son and Theresa marveled over the fact that Shuis had made it back to each other. She'd just told her mom she was over Ethan, who "finally broke my heart," but seeing them together renewed her faith in her own fate. She then filled Luis in on recent happenings. He was furious to hear she'd "married the closest thing to Satan on this planet," but almost smiled upon hearing Alistair was in a coma. Then a thrilled Gwen and Ethan arrived, while Katherine and Rachel watched on from outside. Katherine was sure her daughter would return to her true love Luis, which made Rachel insist she fight for Martin. Much to Pilar's chagrin, the pair joined the party.

Luis left everyone speechless by announcing his marriage to Sheridan. He added that they would have a big wedding with family, which prompted Pilar to reveal the news that Father Lonigan was beaten, stabbed and left in the alley near the convent. Luis said he'd wait for the priest to heal and remained none the wiser as the truth spread. Sheridan did her best to answer the many questions Theresa, Katherine, Rachel and Gwen had and then insisted she loved Chris and would honor her vows. Katherine said Sheridan would go back to Luis because he was her true love, while Theresa warned Chris that that anyone who gets in fate's way "gets crushed." She and Ethan were of course split on that subject and Theresa told him, "Once she listens to her heart, she's going to go right back to Luis. The same way when you listen to your heart you will come right back to me." Ethan only responded, "Never," to which a smiling Theresa answered, "Never say never." Everyone trickled out, leaving Luis to get into bed and beg Sheridan to spend the night. Chris watched on as his horny rival pulled the missus in for a kiss.

Outside, Martin, who'd refused to talk to Katherine, had it out with Miguel. The prodigal son had no love for his dad. "No man who abandons his children deserves forgiveness," he shot, insisting he'd been responsible to Maria even when he was away and would make up for lost time. Martin was hoping his son would give him the same chance.

Having found a shirtless Noah making out with Maya, Fancy stormed into the room on the attack. When Noah got away, she attacked Maya, who called her a "skank." Sam pulled her off and Noah played the jerk rather convincingly, saying he'd finally figured out he wanted Maya and that landing the infamous, rich Fancy Crane was "a big game. You were my Mount Everest and I had to conquer you and I did," he concluded. Fancy couldn't believe he was like the other guys who'd used her for her money or fame, but tearfully gave in. When Sam condemned him, he said he was just following his dad's example, painting Sam's history with Ivy and Grace in a very negative light. Fancy got in the last word and, after shooting Noah and Maya a nasty look, Sam left with her. Noah started after Fancy, but Maya stopped him from ruining the ruse and going against his deal with the FBI.
