PASSIONS Recaps Week of April 17, 2006Friday, April 21, 2006 At home, Kay was in a semi-panic, while Tabitha was hoping Miguel wouldn't make it. Endora let us and Maria know that "he'll be okay," but Kay was worried about Maria losing her dad. Tabby insisted she was really worried about Miguel and still in love with him. Kay begged her to use her magic to save Miguel, but Tabitha said her powers were "running on empty." Kay felt guilty for the accident; she was sure he'd been distracted at work by the fact that she'd never responded to his profession of love. Tabby suspected Fox was Kay's safe choice, while Miguel could one day return to Charity, but Kay insisted he was more than a safety net. Everyone was relieved when Fox brought Miguel home. He mumbled about the blonde "angel" who saved his life. In Italia, Gianni checked out the dance floor before joining a moping Fancy at their table. Having "forgotten" his wallet, he offered to hold her money. Fancy rolled her eyes but let him keep the wad and, when he toasted her, downed her entire glass of champagne. Gianni guessed that Noah was getting her down, but she denied it. Outside, Noah tried to convince flighty, flirty Esme to help him find Fancy before Gianni did her harm. She told him how harmless Gianni was, "as much of a local attraction as the Trevi Fountain, only he doesn’t accept change." Then she took Noah into the club and onto the dance floor, but when she spotted Fancy, she tried to keep him away. He found her as she headed to the dance floor. Fancy stormed away, but returned when it looked like things were going to get physical between Noah and Gianni. Then Noah admitted he loved Fancy and laid one on her. At the Crane manse, Theresa stared at a painting and imagined she and Ethan were the lovers in it. She bemoaned the fact that she had all the money and power anyone could want, but not the man she loved. Meanwhile, an exhausted Gwen returned from work, which made Ethan feel guilty. He revealed he was considering opening his own practice and promised things would improve. Then they got into their typical Theresa chat. Ethan wished Gwen wouldn't think about Theresa, which is the same wish she had for him. Ethan reminded her that he loved her and then excitedly bragged that he'd cooked them a meal. He said that he'd "substituted a few ingredients that I didn't have, but I think it looks great." Looks can be deceiving! Even he had to admit his big dinner was disgusting, but he was called away before they could come up with a substitute. Luis assumed that Sheridan would stay with him, now that she'd admitted her feelings, but he was dead wrong. He got some good kissing out of her, but she was committed to her family. When Luis referred to their family, she shot, "We don’t even have our son," and stormed away, to be replaced by Theresa. When Luis told his sister Sheridan was still in love with him, she again offered her help, but he said "all I need to do" is find Marty to win her back. He was ready to leave that second, but Theresa held him back. He said he'd be more careful this time and planned to use Theresa's access to do a bit of research first. Theresa didn't know the passwords, but that just gave her another way to get at Ethan. She had her brother call him for help. They met up in the library and Luis explained what he wanted from Ethan, but when Theresa showed up, Ethan accused her of even using her "brother's broken heart" to get him. Luckily, Luis was able to talk him into helping, anyway. Ethan got on the computer and found a strange file, but had trouble getting into the "sub-file." He had Theresa right down 436, 116 and 5402 and then used Alistair's number game to get in. Ethan found a number he thought was an expense account for Beth and traced the source to Rome! "I think we found Marty," Luis cheered.
Upstairs, a confused Sheridan turned to Gwen, who said she should "honor the commitment" that she made to Chris — surprise, surprise. Sheridan asked if her advice was swayed by the problems Gwen has faced with Theresa. Gwen couldn't deny the probability and Sheridan remained torn between her two families.
Thursday, April 20, 2006 Back in the dining room, Gianni made a call to a friend to pass off a Brazilian heiress he'd been courting. He was assuming he'd be wined and dined first class on Fancy's buck. Too bad for him Maya overheard. After berating Noah for talking to Fancy, she told him about Gianni's motives. At the site of the old gazebo, Luis tried to convince Sheridan to leave Chris and come back to him. She admitted she remembered their love, but argued that there was too much past to get over. When he offered his hand, she turned away. He empathized, but didn't give up. He insisted that with Alistair in a coma, their love could be "bigger and stronger and more beautiful than it ever was," just like the new gazebo being built. After they flashed back to the day they planted hyacinth together and named it their flower, Sheridan said these conversations were too stressful, especially in her current state, so Luis asked one final question: "Who do you love more, Chris or me?" Sheridan (lied and) said Chris, so Luis walked away…but then she stopped him and admitted she'd only said that to push him away. Of course she loved Luis more than Chris! The broken couple embraced, but Sheridan couldn't turn her back on James and Chris. She said it was too complicated, but Luis insisted, "Together we can do anything." He outlined their possible future and said, "Love will find a way," but she didn't seem convinced. At a meeting with the harbormaster, Fox spotted Miguel at the docks. He wondered why Miguel didn't get a fancier, better paying job through Theresa, instead of working on a fishing boat. "I don't believe in getting involved with the Cranes," Miguel explained and Fox didn't miss the dig. He apologized for hurting Fox' feelings, but rehashed how everyone "who gets involved with a Crane ends up miserable." Fox insisted he'd make Kay happy, so Miguel changed the subject. He said he liked his new, labor-intensive job. Fox then thanked him for chasing after Charity, so that he could fall in love with Kay. Miguel shrugged it off and went back to work, leaving Fox very suspicious about his real feelings for Kay. Back at work, a topless Miguel pined for Kay and, in his distraction, accidentally loosened the boom. It flew around and knocked him into the water. Back at Tabitha's, Kay flipped through a wedding mag looking for a dress, but Tabby wasn't interested in weighing in. A wedding isn’t as fun as a funeral, after all! Kay became frustrated with Tabitha's needling about Miguel and asked why Tabby wasn't with her baby's father, not to mention whom he was. Tabitha 'fessed up to wanting to get Miguel back with Kay to keep him away from consummating his love with Charity, which pissed Kay off. "I'm supposed to sacrifice my happiness with Fox?" Kay demanded. After Tabby noted that Kay and Miguel were doing all the work for her, anyway, Fox showed up and filled Kay in on the convo he had with Miguel. She was horrified that he'd thanked Miguel and reminded him of Charity, but Fox turned the talk back to their wedding plans. Tabitha distracted the girls by reading them The Little Mermaid, while Endora played with a mermaid doll she'd zapped into existence. The fun was interrupted when Fox received a call about Miguel from the harbormaster. Tabby figured Miguel's death was a win-win, because then he couldn't sleep with Charity and Fox could still have Kay. As Miguel's lifeless body floated in the ocean, something flashed by the corner of the screen.
Wednesday, April 19, 2006 Noah continued droning about Fancy and being stuck in this situation, so Maya suggested a walk, but he didn’t want to miss Lena's call. Maya reminded him of their college dream of moving to Italy one day, but he didn't remember, nor was he distracted. He still refused to hit the streets, but Maya convinced him to at least go to the hotel restaurant — where he spied Fancy with Gianni. He was going to set her straight, as he'd wanted to since Harmony, but she spied him too and before he could reach her, she kissed Gianni. Luis paced the Crane kitchen while his mom and Theresa sat over his favorite meal. All agreed it was a shame he and Sheridan were in love but separated. Theresa said that she wasn’t going to miss a chance to use her money to help Luis, the way she had with her mother and father. Pilar wondered how she raised a daughter with "no respect for marriage," but Theresa insisted she respected marriage "when I feel like it's right." Luis, who was still stunned by Theresa's actions while he was away, agreed with Pilar. "You don't know what true love really is," Luis said. "True love is putting the other person ahead of you. It's giving them what they really want, what makes them happy, what they really need...even if it hurts you like hell." Theresa insisted neither Sheridan nor Ethan had made the right choice. She decided to investigate Chris' mysterious past, saying he could be another one of Alistair's pawns. "For you to just squander a second chance to be with Sheridan, that's not noble. That's absolutely nuts!" she said, but Luis and their mother didn't want her help manipulating their true loves into taking them back. Luis said he'd rely on fate to bring them back together one day, rather than the same power that had broken them up. When he called her life a "train wreck," she responded that his life since meeting Sheridan had been a "nuclear train wreck." When Luis stormed out, Pilar told Theresa to respect his wishes and stay out of it. Sheridan told herself to start "thinking of what I have, not what I lost," but kept daydreaming of Luis. Chris empathized with her about how hard it was to break Luis' heart and again asked if she'd changed her mind. She assured him that she wouldn't "break up our family just to fix things with Luis," and reminded him that she wasn't even with Luis when he left Harmony. They agreed that it takes more than love to make it and that their connection went beyond love. Then sexy memories about Luis distracted "Mommy" from watching Chris play with James, and when her guys left her for an errand, more memories came, so she went out to find distractions. She decided to build a playground at the manse for James and then flashed back to her big breakup with Luis. She wandered where their special gazebo once stood, but like their love, it had been leveled by Alistair and was being replaced by a new one. Luis arrived in time to interrupt her conversation with herself and promise they could still have the life they'd always dreamed of. At the B&B, Chris opened the bag Sheridan wanted him to pick up and was upset to find a photo of her and Luis in it, but he promised his son that this Mommy wouldn't leave them.
Tuesday, April 18, 2006 Next door, Ivy was doing her best to convince Sam that Miguel was a threat to their kids' engagement. (She hoped he was, anyway!) Needless to say, she was not pleased when Kay and Fox showed up to announce the wedding date. Sam was thrilled, but to Ivy's relief, Kay finally admitted she was "overwhelmed." She stuttered that she wanted to marry him, but that she wanted more time. Ivy of course backed the idea up, but there was still no stopping Fox. Chad, Simone and Paloma discussed the strange energy at the convent. As Chad talked about taking Whitney home, The Monk led his sister/lover through the secret door/wall and into the white light. When the fab trio couldn't find her, they asked Mother Superior for an explanation. As there was only one way out, they determined Whitney was still in the building. When the girls searched her bed sheets for her, they found a piece of paper with the symbol on it, but Paloma wouldn't let Simone tell Chad about it. Simone said she couldn't leave town while her sister was missing, but Paloma said this newest finding in Whit's room made their trip even more important. Whitney, meanwhile, followed The Monk's instructions, removing her habit to hide her connection to the church and then letting him blindfold her. He explained that she needed "certain preparations" before arriving in Rome and then promised that Whitney was "embarking on a great adventure, one that will change your life forever." When he lifted the blindfold, he told her she was getting a makeover from a woman brandishing a knife. By the time the stranger was done with her, Whit was incognito as a sassy, blue-eyed redhead. "It is imperative that no one recognizes you when you get to Rome," The Monk explained, and she was sure no one would. He reminded her that in helping him, Whitney would be washing Chad's sins away too. That gave her the strength to test the look out on her brother/lover and he didn't recognize her. A morose Luis wished Sheridan had let him die in Hawaii. "This is worse than any torture that I had to endure," he said. Sheridan confused him by saying, "You're the love of my life, my soul mate. I love you." She then left him to be comforted by his mother, but he couldn't understand nor accept that Sheridan wanted to be with another man. In the living room, Sheridan found Theresa going at Chris. Theresa was insistent that Sheridan belonged with Luis and compared their situation to Ethan and Gwen's. "So you're just going to sentence yourself to a life without the man that you love?" she asked Sheridan. Of course, Gwen and Ethan walked in just in time to hear Theresa say Ethan would never be happy with his wife. "This is not about you," Gwen snapped at Theresa. Then Sheridan begged her to understand, Chris told her off and Ethan suggested they all leave the triangle members alone to hash it out. "It's okay," Luis interrupted. "I'm leaving." He was shocked and broken, hoping he'd wake up from this nightmare. Ethan told him he could relate to being " in love with someone and not be with them." Luis watched Sheridan and Chris arm in arm before letting Theresa and Pilar take him home. Theresa, for her part, was determined to make true love win out, for her and Luis.
Monday, April 17, 2006 Paloma and Simone were worked up over the mysterious happenings at the convent and worried about Whitney. Simone was a bit unsure of their abilities, but Paloma was unswayed. Paloma insisted they were "two smart, independent women" who could put in a good effort, and when Simone asked how they'd pay for a trip to Rome, Paloma responded, "If our cause is just, God will provide." Theresa was horrified when she stopped in on Whitney, who was of course praying in the chapel. "If everyone who loves you is worried about you, is it possible that your perception of yourself is flawed because you are ill?" Theresa asked. When that didn't work, she got tough. She tried to drag Whitney out to the mansion while the knife-wielding Monk prepared to stop them. Good for Theresa, Whitney pulled away before he could use it! Whit then slammed Theresa for being an "adulteress, a temptress" and warned that she too would have to repent in this life or in Hell. She kicked the sinner out and The Monk joined her in the room. He commended her for "repelling the devil," and told her he was taking her to Rome. Ethan was annoyed when Chad dropped by, but Chad's concerns for Whitney overshadowed their recent spat. "It's like she's one of those people in those crazy cults," he worried, and suggested kidnapping her and deprogramming her. Ethan was unsure, but agreed to research their legal options while Chad tries reason again. "If we decide to take legal action, it's going to be drastic," Ethan warned, but Chad felt her survival was more important than her forgiveness. Luis was reeling over the news that Sheridan was not only married to Chris, but also having his child. She begged Chris for some time alone with Luis, who assumed she planned to come back to him. Instead, she explained that finding James had saved her life. "There we were — two lost souls comforting each other," she said, "And then Chris came along. And he grew to become very important to me." When Chris stormed back in to tell Luis to step off, Luis insisted that when Sheridan remembered their past lives, "she's going to realize that what you have is nothing compared to what we've had." She teared up as he begged her to come back to him, but she said their past lives should have warned them. "We hurt each other, we break apart, come back together only to hurt each other again and again and again and again," she whimpered. "Well, it's time one of us be strong enough to say enough is enough and move on." Luis left them, sure she'd come to her senses. Chris tried to empathize, but Sheridan said, "You have no idea." Worried about Luis, she called Pilar to keep him from doing anything stupid. Then, against Chris' wishes, she went in to check on Luis herself. " You should've just left me in Hawaii," said a broken Luis. "You should've just left me to die."
