In a tizzy, Kay searched for Miguel and Siren. She was none-too-pleased when Fox observed that the pair have great chemistry. He was puzzled by her freak-out over Miguel's sex life. An irritated Fox questioned his fiancée about her insistence that Miguel and Siren not do the deed. He accused her of still having a thing for Miguel, which she denied. In the meantime, Siren and Miguel made out on the beach and she asked him to make love to her. That's what we call love on the rocks, people. Miguel said he wanted to be with her, but that they should take it slow. As they chatted, her feet touched water and reverted to fins. Miguel commented that he felt like there were scales on his legs, but he didn't stop kissing Siren long enough to investigate.
In Rome, Spike held a knife to a terrified Jessica's throat. Noah, who had been knocked out, came to and punched the thug. A fistfight ensued, but Noah prevailed. He blasted Spike over robbing Jessica of her innocence and also causing him to lose Fancy. Noah tied up Spike and phoned Lena to let her know he was bringing her the man who'd killed her partner.... Whitney and the monk (really a disguised Alistair) searched for the chalice and tried to find a way into the Pope's chamber.
J.T. phoned Rebecca, but Gwen answered. She blasted him when she discovered he was still in Rome. Get out of there before Theresa catches you, she ordered. Meanwhile, Theresa continued to chase J.T. through the streets of Rome, even though a concerned Ethan feared for her safety. "My future, our future depends on this," insisted Theresa. Ethan followed her and again asked her to stop, but she reasoned that the truth about Gwen's role in the tabloid scandal would ensure a future for herself and Ethan. After lamely paying lip service to his commitment to Gwen, Ethan resumed trailing Theresa. She followed J.T. to some ruins where he stood on one side of a gap and she the other. With Ethan looking on in horror, Theresa made a dramatic leap to get to the other side. She almost made it, but hung from her fingers off the ledge. J.T., who was still on his cell phone, gave Gwen and Rebecca the play-by-play. Theresa lost her grasp and fell, but grabbed on again pulled herself up. Determined, Ethan also jumped the gap. J.T. ran for it, but remained on his phone while his pursuer kept pleading with him to tell Ethan the truth. She offered him $10 million to expose the schemers. He accepted and told Ethan about Gwen and Rebecca (who were still listening in.)
At the masquerade party, Luis grabbed Beth by the throat and freaked when she let on that she'd poisoned Fancy's champagne. Though he was right across the very quiet gallery, and clearly within earshot, Fancy sipped the bad bubbly as Luis called out to her. Luis bolted across the room to knock the glass out of her hand. It looked like Fancy had collapsed, but she might have just been tackled. Either way, she opened her eyes and planted a kiss on Luis. While Luis was distracted, Beth slipped away again and returned to Marty.
Simone, Paloma and Chad, put together the pieces of the painting and realized there were letters on the painting, spelling out "A Gape".

At the beach, Siren, Miguel, Fox and Kay celebrated the success of their recent photo shoot. Tabitha showed up, per Kay's request. In private, Kay asked Tabs if Siren is a mermaid. Tabby denied knowing anything about their blonde houseguest, but finally came clean. Kay found the whole thing funny. "Miguel is making out with a fish!" she chuckled. Tabs warned Kay that she must keep Miguel away from Siren because if they make love, he will never be able to love another woman. Meanwhile, Siren was nervous about the witch's presence. Still, she came on to Miguel, claiming she wanted to show him something she learned from watching eels mate. Sounds slippery! When Fox asked Siren where she bought the mermaid tail from, she said she ordered it on the computer. Miguel and Siren headed out for privacy so they could, well, have some privacy.
At the gallery's masquerade party in Rome, Beth told Spike that Alistair was busy looking for the chalice that holds the power of God.... Fancy showed up, unbeknownst to Luis, who was chatting with Theresa and Ethan about how happy he was that the Crane heiress was safe in her hotel room.... The waitressing Paloma, Simone and Jessica did more talking about finding the mysterious painting than actually looking for it. Simone became very discouraged about finding Whitney in Rome because they don't know what she looks like in her disguise. Jessica was certain that if Spike was there, he would never recognize her in the mask and uniform.... Theresa caught J.T. and demanded he tell all to Ethan. Instead, the reporter splashed a drink in her face and ran.... Noah informed Ethan that Spike is the murderer that he has to find Lena. When Ethan encouraged Noah to fill Fancy in on the truth, Luis walked up and assured Bennett that he is not romantically involved with Fancy. Luis and Noah had a heated moment.... Beth spotted Fancy and pushed a knife-carrying Spike toward her. Fancy screamed when a man's hand grabbed her shoulder. Beth was excited, thinking Spike killed her enemy, but that wasn't the case; the man was Luis. He yelled at Fancy for being there. Noah interrupted and asked Fancy why she wasn't locked up. After making a snide remark about Maya, Fancy put on an act and kissed Luis. He kissed back, for the record, then finally pushed her off. "Why don't you just tell Noah the truth," Luis said to Fancy after Noah walked off. Luis pointed out that he doesn't want people to think he betrayed Sheridan. Ethan had a chat with Fancy about trusting Noah. She turned it around and asked him why he doesn't trust Theresa.... Beth told Spike she will handle killing Fancy. Just then, Jess spotted her ex. Beth poisoned a glass of champagne and gave it to Fancy, claiming it was from a man. Fancy didn't recognize Beth, even though she was wearing a mask that covered half of her face. After all, they buddied around the Roman ruins together. And has Luis not given Fancy a picture of the woman who is out to kill her? Anyway, Fancy happily assumed the cocktail was from Luis, who finally got his hands on a shocked Bethie.... A frantic Jess told Noah she saw Spike. When they searched for the thug, he knocked Noah out and grabbed Jessica.
Whitney showed the monk (really Alistair) the clue hidden in the painting, but he couldn't see it. Al grew frustrated, so Whit busted out a black light to make the message clear. "I see it!" exclaimed Crane. AGAPE, it read. "Like someone's mouth is agape," Alistair questioned. Whitney was surprised the monk didn't know that the word actually means "God's love for all mankind." Before they headed to get the chalice, Alistair destroyed the painting. Just then, Simone and Paloma heard a noise and investigated. The girls entered the room to find the ripped-up art, but Whitney and Alistair escaped through a secret passageway. Simone connected the corner they have to the partial painting.

Beth and Spike arrived at the art gallery's masquerade party ready to find — and kill — Fancy. They immediately put on masks so they wouldn't be discovered.
Paloma convinced Jessica and Simone to attend the gallery fĂȘte so they could track down the mysterious painting with the missing corner. The girls put on gowns and arrived at the party, but they weren't allowed in without invitations. Paloma had the clever idea to throw three waitresses in a locked room after taking their uniforms. "Enjoy you're night off," she said through the door to the distraught women. The young snoops slipped into the gathering and searched for the painting, while acting as servers.
In her hotel room, a dolled-up Fancy was ready to go to the event, but Luis refused to let her leave the room. He took her cell phone and posted a guard outside so she couldn't escape, then went to the gallery by himself. Fancy tried to make a call from her the hotel phone, but Luis had managed to prevent that. She used the fire escape to get away. Once she made it down to the street, a car drove by and splashed muddy water on her, so Fancy had to head back to her room to change.
From the gallery, Luis chatted with Sheridan on the phone and told her he's very close to finding Marty. Then Beth called Luis on the other line and told her they will be together soon. "I have to take care of Fancy first," she uttered. Luis tried to assure Beth that he's not dating Fancy, and begged her not to hurt his friend. Bethie mentioned "Daddy," which made Luis throw 20 questions at her about Alistair, but she already hung up. He realized the evil Crane might be behind all the weird Rome happenings. Detective L-F told Sheridan he suspects her father might not be in a coma after all. In Harmony, Sheridan went to see her father. After peeling off his mask, she realized the man in Alistair's bed wasn't her pop!
Donning a new dress, Fancy arrived at the gallery. Luis wondered how he was going to find Beth if everyone is wearing masks. Ah, the H.P.D. taught him well.
Theresa and Ethan were taken to J.T.'s jail cell, but he wasn't there; he was in the hallway on the phone with Rebecca and Gwen, who were demanding he escape before T and E find him. Theresa stormed off, determined to find the reporter. She found him, but ran off to find Ethan. When she returned with her love, Cornell was nowhere to be found. Duh! Like he would've stayed put just because Mrs. Alistair Crane asked him to. "I don't want to hear another word about J.T. Cornell," Ethan snapped at Theresa. Back in Harmony, Gwen and Becks celebrated using Julian's credit card to get Cornell out of jail and away from Theresa.... or so they thought. Now free, J.T. decided to go to the gallery party. Ethan told a crying Theresa he is going to the gallery party and invited her to go in order to help Luis track down Beth.
Chad and his priest friend tried to figure out where Whitney and the fake monk were. Alistair broke into the Vatican while Whit gazed at the painting, trying to decode it. She gave the monk (still unaware he's Crane) directions to the Pope's chamber. Chad and the nun caught up to Alistair. Chad tackled a monk, but it was not Alistair; this frazzled man really did work at the Vatican. Oops, talk about a sin! Of course, Alistair got away.

Chad caught up with his old friend Denny, who is now a priest. Denny was shocked to hear Chad say he's in love with his half sister. He filled the priest in on Whitney's whereabouts and strange actions. They heard a nun praying in the next room. Denny explained to Chad that there is evil at the Vatican. Chad recognized the woman's voice; she was the nun he met in the catacombs that told him to stop "the innocent one."
In Harmony, Gwen and Rebecca were relieved that J.T. hid the evidence from Theresa that connected them to the tabloid scandal.
Jessica, Paloma and Simone told Noah and Ethan that they want to help solve the mystery that's going on, but the boys told them to stay locked in their hotel room. Simone saw a picture in the newspaper of a painting with the corner torn off, and realized it was the painting Simone ripped the corner off of because it had the symbol on it. Just as they planned to escape to do more research, Noah arrived. "Stay put. Or else," he demanded before he headed toward the door. When the girls asked what he's up to, he said he has to find a guy with a tattoo on his wrist just like Jessica's ink. "Spike!" said Jess when she pointed out that her ex has the tat on his wrist. Noah left in search of the pimp.
The monk (Alistair) showed Whitney a painting and told her to decode it's message in order to get to the chalice. He handed her a magnifying glass to get closer look.
Beth told Spike she needs help taking out Fancy. Spike pointed out that Alistair will be angry that they killed Fancy, so Beth suggested he just make Al's precious granddaughter disappear — for good!
Luis walked in on Theresa and Fancy's discussion. Theresa filled her brother in on Fancy's plan to lure Beth out of hiding so he could get Marty back. Luis told Fancy he won't allow it because it's too dangerous. Fancy was pleasantly surprised when he admitted, "I care about you way too much." Ethan arrived and agreed that Fancy shouldn't go along with her scheme to capture Beth. Still, Fancy secretly planned on going through with it. Theresa and Ethan headed out, leaving Fancy alone with Luis. Luis told Fancy he's getting a guard to stand outside of their room while he goes out. Alone, Fancy phoned Crane Public Relations to have them announce she was going to the gallery opening. Theresa told Ethan she was on her way to see J.T. so he could prove Gwen and Rebecca were involved in the tabloid scandal. At the police station, Theresa tried to track down Cornell. Around the corner, the reporter was on a pay phone asking Gwen and Rebecca to post his bail. A cop guided Ethan and Theresa to J.T.'s cell.

At the wharf, Kay yelled that Siren is a fish, but Fox still didn't believe her. Mr. Jackson pointed out that Siren may be keeping Migs under the sea. In the water, Miguel swam after Siren, who was in mermaid form, but shed her tail just before he reached her. Fox reeled the duo back to land. Kay asked Siren where her tail went. "You've heard of mermaids, haven't you," Siren slyly asked the gang. She then claimed mermaids aren't real and that her tail was a costume. Fox and Miguel gave her kudos for her great idea, while Kay was frustrated she weaseled her way out of being busted. Yelling, Kay asked her nemesis where her costume was now that she's out of the sea. Siren said it started filling up with water and she nearly drowned until Miguel saved her.
In virtual reality, Whitney described the sparkling chalice to the monk, who she has yet to discover is Alistair. When Al put on the special goggles and tried to grab the chalice, his fingers burned. Whitney accused him of being evil, but he covered by saying the object has no way of knowing if he's good or evil. He went on about not letting doubts interfere in their mission to save the church. Back in virtual reality, Whit reached for the chalice, but got zapped by a laser alarm. Stuck in a force field, Whitney removed her mask and asked the monk how she was supposed to get the chalice in real life, if she couldn't even get it in virtual reality. He told Whit that her life depends on it.
Ethan tried to convince an agitated Noah that Luis and Sheridan are soul mates, therefore, Luis couldn't have slept with Fancy. Ethan asked Noah why he broke up with Fancy if he's so in love with her. Noah explained to his half brother that he made a mistake that he couldn't inform Fancy about or else she'd die. Noah informed Ethan that he and Maya are double agents for the FBI to catch Lena. Noah blamed himself for pushing Fancy into Luis's arms.
Fancy told Theresa she wants to act as bait to lure Beth out of hiding. Theresa tried to talk her out of it. Fancy begged her not to tell Luis about her plan, and explained that she wants Luis to find Marty. Fancy filled Theresa in on her plan. Theresa didn't want to be a part of the plot, and told Fancy to be careful with her heart. Fancy assumed she was referring to Noah, but Theresa was talking about Luis.
