PASSIONS Recaps Week of June 12, 2006

Friday, June 16, 2006
In Rome, Luis tearfully lamented to Fancy how he's going to break the news to Sheridan that their son is dead. Fancy reassured Luis that Marty is now in Heaven where there's no pain, and that things weren't Luis' fault. Luis insisted he's to blame for everything. Luis revealed to Fancy that Alistair is not in a coma in Harmony but is alive and well in Rome. Fancy broke down as Luis gave her all the gory details and slowly began to realize that everyone else's opinion of her grandfather is much closer to the truth than she ever believed. Fancy questioned what Alistair has to gain by tormenting all of them. Luis insisted Alistair wants to destroy all of them — or at least everybody besides Fancy. As Luis lamented that Alistair could be anyone, anywhere in Rome — he realized that Alistair is the monk Luis ran into. Fancy tried to dissuade Luis from his murderous thoughts when Luis stormed off threatening an-eye-for-an-eye as retribution for Marty's death.

Theresa waited impatiently for Crane Security to bring JT to her. Ethan remained skeptical of Theresa's claims. Theresa eagerly answered a knock at the door expecting it to be Crane Security delivering JT to her, but instead she was greeted by a smiling Gwen who made an amorous beeline to Ethan. Ethan told Gwen that he doesn't believe any of Theresa's assertions and accusations, and explained to Gwen why he was sharing a hotel suite with Gwen. Gwen believed Ethan, but said she knows Theresa is still trying finagle Ethan away from her. Gwen informed Ethan and Theresa that Alistair is up and about and is not languishing in a coma back in Harmony. Gwen explained how another comatose patient was fitted with a latex mask of Alistair's face to keep up the deception as long as possible. When Ethan left the room Theresa threatened to bring Gwen and Rebecca down as soon as she finds JT. Gwen told Theresa that she informed Crane Security that Alistair is alive so that Alistair's men will no longer take directions from her. Gwen smugly declared that Theresa was now powerless as Alistair has reclaimed all of his power for himself. Theresa called Crane Security and verified Gwen's declarations. Ethan became concerned that Alistair might now be after Theresa. As Gwen and Ethan went to their room Ethan told Theresa he'd be next door if she needed him.

Whitney held Alistair at gunpoint and threatened to shoot him. Alistair smugly declared that Whitney was too innocent and weak to shoot him. Whitney pulled the trigger and fired the gun, then passed out from the shock of what she did. Whitney came to and freaked out after committing the ultimate sin, but the nun told her killing was not a sin when she was serving God. Everyone gawked at the sight of Alistair's corpse lying motionless on the ground. Everyone freaked when Paloma touched Alistair's robe and discovered Alistair was gone. Chad located the place on the wall where Whitney's bullet struck, and they all realized that Alistair escaped. Whitney wondered why Alistair let her live, and questioned the mind games he played on her as Chad comforted and reassured her. The Pope arrived with his entourage to find out what happened. Whitney literally threw herself at the Pope's feet and explained her actions. The Pope reassured Whitney that she did no wrong and has nothing to apologize or atone for. When the Pope asked for the chalice, everyone discovered in horror that it was gone — Alistair took it when he pulled his disappearing act. The Pope warned that the chalice could bring about the destruction of the world if it was in the wrong hands. The Pope added that the chalice must be recovered before Alistair can decipher and read the full inscription, or else he will become the most powerful being on earth, and the church will be doomed. Chad resolved that the group would stop at nothing to get the chalice and return it to the church before it's too late.

Back in the sanctuary Alistair held fast to the chalice and realized that all the other monks are blind. JT arrived and was horrified to run into Alistair alive and well. JT begged Alistair for help in escaping Rome, but all Alistair could think about was using his impending new powers in bed with Theresa.

Simone, Paloma, Chad and the nun watched in as Whitney tried to come to terms with the fact that she'd been helping Alistair all along. "Thank you so much for your gullibility," Alistair gloated, reveling on how everyone fell for his various manipulations to bring them to Italy. The reason he did it? To "vanquish" them before he got to anyone else, of course! Whitney jumped to action and tried to grab the chalice. When she failed, Chad knocked the gun out of his hands and attacked, but Alistair showed off his growing super-human strength and threw Chad across the room. "Move away form the chalice, or I'll blow your brains out," Whitney warned. She had the gun and at everyone's behest, she fired it! Something dropped, but was it Alistair?

Theresa demanded Crane security find JT, regardless of the storm. Then she ranted to Ethan and even though he was impressed with how far she'd go to prove what she believed was true, they got into that same old debate. To make his rejection of her easier (not), he then walked around in nothing but a towel for a while. Theresa had a freak out and screamed at the storm, but then Ethan was distracted by her impressive Crane CEO work. She admitted it was overwhelming, but he said to give herself more credit, considering she had no college degree. "Fear is a good incentive," she shrugged. He told her to keep her workload real for Little E AND Jane, because they need her more than the Crane Empire, but he still wouldn't come work for her. She reminded him that he was just as much a part of this triangle, since he was the one in love with two women. "It's up to me to put an end to it once and for all," she insisted, concluding that whatever comes of her search for JT, this is the last effort she'd make. Ethan looked more than a little worried. Crane security called to say they had JT — but did they? He'd been on the run in the (rainless) storm and hit a dead end, so it was possible.

Because he'd "never seen Kay so worried," Sam begrudgingly interrupted Siren and Miguel and arrested Miguel for indecent exposure. Once cuffed, Miguel assumed it was a joke and laughed it off, but of course, it wasn't. (Well, it was, but not the way he thought!) He then insisted they weren't having sex, so Sam asked why they had a strip of condoms. Once Migs was behind bars, he figured out Kay was behind it and had a little temper tantrum. Sam insisted, "She's grown into a mature young woman. And I know that she would never ask me to arrest you unless she was certain that you being with Siren tonight would put you at risk somehow." Boy was he floored when Miguel told him the reason!

Kay had watched the arrest from behind some bushes, swearing to herself that she was doing it to save Migs. A suspicious Siren, who'd stayed at the beach, surprised her with a good punch. "I was doing my civic duty," Kay sneered, but Siren countered that a "boiling mad" mermaid was much more of threat then the Mermaids' Curse. To prove it, she called some crabs out of the ocean to attack Kay's feet and stormed off. She went straight to the jail to check on Miguel. Sam decided (in his head) that she couldn't be a mermaid and that his daughter had used him. While the couple made out and dreamed of making love, he had it out with Kay. "When did you lose your mind?" he asked, but he lost steam after she gave the laundry list of weird things that have happened in Harmony. She swore on Maria and convinced her dad that she wasn't crazy. Sam still suggested she reconsider her feelings for Miguel.

Still on the phone in the hotel, Luis could barely bring himself to correct Sheridan's misconception that he was coming home with Marty, let alone tell her that Marty was dead. When he got up the nerve to tell her the truth, Fancy (who was caressing his shoulder) stopped him. Sheridan figured out the first part, but was confident Luis would find him. Poor Luis had to listen to her talk about how confident she was after having that dream in which they were all happy together. He promised to keep himself and Fancy safe and, after some warm wishes and some love, got off the phone. Fancy couldn't help but cry with a broken Luis. "How do I tell her that I failed?" he asked Fancy. She brought him some booze and offered, "Um, I'm not really good at whatever you're supposed to do at a time like this, but if you tell me, I'll try." She let Luis talk it out, chiding him when he wondered if it was all his fault. "You ache for Marty too," she insisted. "I lost our son...and I lost Sheridan," he bemoaned, so she rested her head on his shoulder.

Siren played it smart and apologized to Miguel for "rubbing Kay the wrong way." After he almost caught her munching on a live crab, they started making out. He tasted the nasty fishiness on her and asked her to stay away from those candies. Then he said he wanted to wait to have sex, because he was too upset about Kay's attack. Siren feared Kay would always come between them, but he responded that, "Nobody controls my life. No one does. I'm my own man." Big surprise, she asked him to prove it.

Kay and Fox returned home and ran into their engaged parents. Sam asked Ivy to tell them about their wedding plans and she was only too happy to oblige. When Sam caught his daughter spacing out, she asked him for a private chat in the kitchen...and then asked him to arrest Miguel! Dad seemed amused by it and called Kay on whether she wanted him for herself. She of course denied it, but he wasn't convinced. Their time in the kitchen gave Ivy a chance to stir up trouble, especially after Fox told her that Kay was upset about Miguel and Siren. He wouldn't hear her "concerns" and she let it go, pleased that she'd struck a nerve.

In the Vatican, Alistair gloated over his success as he waited for the chalice to reveal its secret and make him "a very angry, vengeful God" on earth. Chad and the nun tried to convince Whitney she'd been duped, while Paloma and Simone worked on the lock. They broke in just as the fire began to reveal the secrets of the chalice. Alistair and Chad went at it, but Chad got the upper hand long enough to pour holy water on the fire. Alistair pulled a gun and with a small fire still going, again tried to read the message. The nun suggested they pray that Whitney realize the truth. A bolt of lightening struck the chalice and a storm broke out. The ground shook and Alistair revealed himself.

Back in Harmony, Pilar stopped in to check on Sheridan and they discussed recent happenings. Pilar was worried about her kids, who weren't returning her calls. Sheridan as always hoped Luis would bring back her son. Pilar's concern only grew when she heard Alistair was awake, so Sheridan tried him in Fancy's suite.

They weren't in, of course, because Fancy was still holding Luis back from the burning remains of Marty and Beth's cab. The heroic hunk was broken and in shock. "I've lost everything," Luis said. When Fancy got him back home, Luis tried to accept what had happened and fretted over telling Sheridan. Fancy went to get ice to make him a drink, which meant he was alone to answer the phone when Sheridan called again. He couldn't get the words out, so she assumed he hadn't found Marty yet. He was not surprised to hear Alistair was not in a coma. Fancy was going to take the phone, but was distracted by the storm breaking outside. "They don't look like normal clouds, and the lightning seems to be most intense at the Vatican," she reported. The rumbling reached earthquake proportions, so Luis hung up with the promise that they'd be home soon. Unfortunately, Sheridan assumed he meant he and Marty.

Lena was ready to shoot a tied-up Noah, but Jessica threw herself in front of her brother and then tried to untie him. He was floored when Lena revealed Alistair was the man behind everything. She explained that her job was to use his love of Fancy to break them up, while Spike was responsible for teaching Sam a lesson. When he damned Maya, she whined that Alistair had threatened her family and then, when she threatened to tell the truth, Lena blew up her mom's restaurant. Then Maya threw herself in front of him, as Jessica continued to fight Spike. The pimp threw his girl over his shoulder and left with plans to make her "die with a big fat smile on her face." Before Lena could shoot Maya, however, Noah broke free and a fight ensued. Lena got away, which led to a chase. When Lena hit a dead end, she decided to wait for them. She had them cornered and pulled back her metal post...but the same crazy lightening that hit the chalice hit her weapon and shocked her! Noah lost hope when Maya said she wouldn't tell Fancy the truth, for fear of Alistair's wrath. Then she revealed she was still in love with him and agreed to do it. As they went to take each other's hands, the ground shook and she fell off the balcony.

Jessica came to on the floor and begged Spike not to kill her. "I'm not hot to off you Jess," he admitted, but he had to do it for Alistair. Then he couldn't do it! He felt like a wimp, but it became clear he had real feelings for Jessica. She insisted he was Alistair's victim too. "I hated turning tricks, but I loved making love to you, Spike," Jessica cooed, but her real plan was to get the gun! When she did, she pulled it on him and called him a bastard.

Ethan dove to the rescue in the nick of time, saving Theresa from the stone JT dropped down to kill her. Unfortunately, that meant he got hit instead. A line of blood trickled down his unconscious face and he didn't seem to be breathing. JT apologized to Theresa, explaining Gwen and Rebecca made him do it, but when she threatened him, he ran. With the cell phone broken, Theresa begged Ethan to come back and promised they'd be happy together. He came to saying her name and she kissed him. He pulled away and they went right back into the Gwen debate. Theresa wanted to go after JT. He tried to stop her by saying she "didn't have to find the man," but he didn't mean he believed her story. He just believed she believed. She begged him to show some faith in her, but he wouldn't hear it. Once back at the hotel, she called Crane security and offered a $50 million reward to JT's captor.

Ignoring Fancy's pleas, Luis ran straight for Marty and Beth's flaming cab, calling, "Daddy's coming!" There was an explosion and Luis was caught in the flames. Fancy screamed, but it turned out it was the driver who was on fire. Luis went back in for Marty, but never got the door open. Fancy called for help and then yelled for Luis, but then there was another, bigger explosion. Luis was knocked out and when he came too, Fancy told him "only God can help" Marty now.

With Jessica hiding behind him, Noah tried to make sense of why he was tasked to find Lena's partner's killer (Spike) if they were partners. Lena told him to ask "another one of my associates," and an apologetic Maya entered. Gun-toting Lena directed Spike to take Jessica out — as in kill her — so he and Noah tussled again. Noah was winning until Maya knocked him out! Spike tied him up and Lena prepared to shoot him.

Whitney tried to make sense of how incognito Alistair (a.k.a. The Monk) was behaving now that he finally had the chalice. Outside, the nun told Chad, Simone and Paloma that they were too late. They called in and asked Whitney to let them in, but Alistair said her brother and sister were the baddies trying to destroy the church. Chad called in that the monk was the bad one and Alistair gave his usual line about how she'd lose her soul, which left Whitney caught in the middle. After she agreed to stand by Al, he pulled out a gun and Chad started to come in. She pleaded with Chad not to, but he used the nun's key to enter. Alistair ordered Chad to lock his party in the room and give Whit the key. Once that was done, he started building a fire, which would reveal the secrets of the chalice. Simone came close to breaking in, but not before Alistair got it into the fire. "I won," he cried and the light changed.

Back in Harmony, Kay was sure she and Fox were too late to save Miguel from Siren and the mermaids' curse. True, the couple was making out, but Migs still had his shorts on, so it didn't LOOK too late. A frustrated Fox insisted they leave, but it occurred to Kay it might not be too late. She called out to Miguel, begging him to stop and then physically separated them. She was relieved to hear they hadn't made love and brought up the mermaid issue, which pissed Miguel off even more. Kay couldn't tell him about Tabitha's admission, but sited the clues: Siren eats raw fish, they found that fish scale in the bathroom, and then of course, she had the tail. Kay then pulled Siren aside and demanded she admit what she was. She begged her to spare Miguel, but Siren wasn't interested in doing that and knew Kay would have to show her own magical hand in order to convince Miguel.

Miguel and Fox, meanwhile, discussed the happenings and why Kay hates Siren. Fox figured she was being protective and suggested she might be going on women's intuition. Miguel said it wasn't her job to make this decision and stormed over to let Kay have it. "You and I have seen some really strange things happen here in Harmony," Kay finally pointed out, which meant a fun montage of those hellish days, from the huge plummeting fireball to the house getting sucked into the ground. "Considering all of that, why is it so hard to believe that Siren's a mermaid?" she concluded. He could relate to what she was saying, but still didn’t believe Siren was a mermaid. He told her to let it be, so Kay told him he hadn't lost her! She fumbled with her engagement ring, but wouldn't go so far as to say she and Miguel have a chance. He left with Siren and Fox wouldn't let Kay follow.

The ambulance was taking too long, so Luis made Fancy throw up. She came to and, feeling guilty, immediately insisted on going after Beth and Marty. Luis tried to stop her, but instead had to give in and follow. She was sure Beth and Marty would ditch town and she was right — the pair was making their way to a cab packed with their belongings. Luis and Fancy spotted them just in time, jumped on a motorcycle and gave chase. When Beth and Marty's cab swerved to avoid a baby carriage, it crashed into a wall and bust into flames. "Marty!" Luis screamed.

With Jessica and a restrained Spike in tow, Noah made his way to Lena. His curious sister distracted him with questions and, as he gave a synopsis of what he and Maya had gotten into, Spike untied himself. He punched Noah and made a run for it, but Noah caught up and told an impatient Lena, "Once I give you this piece of trash, you're never gonna see me again." When Noah arrived with Spike, Lena turned her gun on him instead. "Spike and I, we're associates," she informed Noah with a self-satisfied smile.

In the ruins, Theresa agreed to pay JT $10 million for the truth and Gwen fell apart as she listened via cell phone. She told her mom she hated her and reamed Rebecca for insisting, "My schemes have never failed me in the past." When she said she'd lost to Theresa, Rebecca told her not to give up and got back on the phone to threaten JT. Little did the ladies know, Ethan wasn't buying JT's story. He said even he'd sell out and say something like that for $10 million. "That creep's say so is not going to cut it," Ethan snarled. Watching from above, the reporter could see Theresa and Ethan were arguing, which the ladies in Harmony were thrilled to hear. Theresa refused to give up until he proved the truth to him and stormed off after JT. As she searched for him, Rebecca ordered him to "get rid of her," and hung up. When Theresa found him, she begged for his help and promised to help him with his tax problems. He pretended to consider it, while moving a large piece of the ruin toward the edge. Ethan spotted what he was up to above and warned Theresa. She didn't realize what was happening until the stone was on its way down to her. She screamed and covered her head, preparing for impact.

Upset about not getting the chalice, a still incognito Alistair lost patience with Whitney. She suggested they just needed to give it more time. When he tried again, he received a horrible shock that threw him across the room. Whitney tried unlocking it again, this time switching the order, and he was finally able to take it in his hands. Light shot out of the chalice as he held it.

Chad, Paloma and Simone were caught by Vatican guards and tried to convince the guards they were after the wrong people. Luckily the prophetic nun showed up and told them, "Let them go now, or more than the church is in danger. We are all doomed if evil triumphs tonight." They crew closed in on the Pope's quarters only to see that crazy light shooting out through the door. They were too late. Alistair had the power!

Kay tried to convince Fox that Siren was a mermaid and that sex with her would ruin Miguel forever. As they argued back and forth, Miguel was unknowingly getting the tail end. Siren begged him to make love to her, but it ruined the mood that, "There's something scratchy rubbing up against my foot, like...like a giant tuna." She wouldn't let him look, but finally took her fin out of the water so it turned back into legs. When Kay and Fox arrived, it seemed they too were too late.
