PASSIONS Recaps Week of August 14, 2006
Friday, August 18, 2006
Theresa tracked down a shirtless Jared at the carnival to apologize for concealing her Crane identity. She denied being a golddigger and vowed to use her wealth and power to do good things. Gwen and a shirtless Ethan, Whitney and a shirtless Chad listened in as Theresa pleaded for another chance. No dice, Jared insisted that he wants a down-to-earth woman and normal life. A little while later when Theresa was by herself, Pilar approached and pushed her daughter to let Ethan know he sired her son. "Mama, he doesn't want to be with me," argued Theresa, pointing out that Jared is just not that into her either. Meanwhile, Chad and Ethan, who had donned shirts, talked about Theresa and Jared. Chad saw through his pal's weak claim that he is sorry things didn't work out for Theresa, which prompted Ethan's admission that he still loves his ex.
At the fair, Kay was surprised to see a furious Siren, who had escaped Kay's trap. Kay once again warned that she would reveal the mermaid's secret, but Siren just laughed and taunted that Fox can't have sex with Kay. When her nemesis was gone, Kay spoke to one of the carnival planners about a job for "her friend". When the planner agreed, Kay flashed a victorious grin. Later on, Kay and Fox took a ride in the tunnel of love, the ride got stuck in and he wanted to get it on, but then went into a trance. He snapped out of it and the ride started again, Kay was frustrated. Miguel helped Fancy find the booth she'd been assigned to (thanks to Kay). She flipped when she saw that it was the water-dunking game. Unable to get out of it, Fancy got in the tank and was promptly dunked.
When Tabitha's pitching failed to win her a prize for Endora, the little girl secretly used magic to get the stuffed animals. When the vendor cried that he'd been robbed, Tabby rushed off with the tiny bandit. Endora refused to return the toys, so Tabitha had to keep running.
Theresa showed up to take her place as target in the pie-tossing booth. Gwen gleefully stepped up and lobbed a cream pie in her rival's face. Theresa was good natured when Gwen tossed another pie. "This is much better than therapy," laughed Gwen, who continued to throw the tasty treats. A crowd gathered around the spectacle. When Whitney spotted Jared, she happily told herself that now he'd see Theresa is a regular girl. After the crowd left, Theresa invited Jared to take aim. He picked up a pie and smashed it into his own face. They grinned at each other.
Spike showed up outside the cottage to get the security code to the Crane mansion. When Chris hesitated, Spike threatened to expose Chris's secret to Sheridan. Making sure Sheridan didn't know what was going on, Chris handed over the code. To get his wife away from the scene , Chris took her to dinner at the Lobster Shack. She beamed over the romantic gesture, but the smile was wiped off her face when Luis and Fancy entered. The cop and cadet exchanged playful banter. When Fancy spied another pretty diner play dumb about being able to crack lobster, she used the same trick so Luis could feel all manly. When Sheridan and Fancy ran into each other outside the powder room, Sher pointed out that Fancy is capable of cracking lobster shells. Fancy explained that though she wants Luis to see her as strong and capable on the job, it's good to be all soft and feminine sometimes. Sheridan pouted about the deception of it all. (If she only knew.) After listening to Fancy coo about Luis, Sheridan glumly mused to herself that she never fell out of love with Luis.
As Chris broke into the manse, Pilar returned from the fair, neither of them saw the other. When she heard a noise, Pilar phoned the police, Spike came up behind her with a gun and pulled the trigger. Pilar collapsed to the floor.

Simone and Paloma decided to have a fun night out. They headed to the Lobster Shack to see if Jessica wanted to join them. When they arrived, they couldn't find Jessica; she was out back, fighting off the two guys who were trying to rape her. Simone and Paloma heard their friend scream and told the bartender to call the cops. They headed toward Jessica and tried to pull the guys off of her. Simone's arm got slashed by a knife.
After accidentally stepping into Luis's shower, a pleasantly surprised Fancy got out. When Luis was drying off, he accused Fancy of knowing he was in the shower when she joined him. After a chat about needing to save hot water at the police station, Fancy and Luis teased each other about not being able to keep their eyes off the other in the shower. When Fancy walked back toward the stall, her towel got caught on something and fell to the floor, exposing her naked body. She quickly hid behind the curtain, then purposely gave Luis a nice, long look at her nude figure. When Luis was dispatched to the Lobster Shack, Fancy asked to join him on the call. He made her promise she was simply going to observe. She dozed off on the drive, then Luis picked on her about not being able to handle police training. They arrived at the Lobster Shack just in time to arrest the perps. Jess took Simone inside to clean her cut. Luis allowed Paloma to go with the other cops to watch the guys get arrested, then told Fancy her job was to get into the dumpster, where one of the thugs threw the knife. A disgusted Fancy put on gloves and entered the garbage bin. Luis joked with her about taking so long to find the evidence. Once she found the blade, Luis told Fancy that he's proud of her. He said he wouldn't blame her for quitting the training because he's been so tough on her, but she said she's loving learning how to be a cop.
Chad put in some effort to convince Jared to stay in Harmony after the fair. When Ethan arrived at the wharf, Gwen told him it was Jared who has been getting the event in shape. He realized his wife was trying to keep Jared in town, while he wanted him to leave. Whitney called Theresa and told her to get involved in the fair. When Theresa found out that Ethan was at the wharf, she and Pilar rushed to there to tell Winthrop the truth about Little Ethan. When Theresa arrived, she caught Whitney and Gwen shaking hands. Whit covered by saying she was just showing Gwen her engagement ring. Theresa was thrilled by the good news. When Mrs. Crane was impressed by how the carnival was shaping up, Whit and Gwen were quick to give Jared the credit. Theresa reluctantly approached Jared about how she could help. He said, "Go back to your big mansion on the hill and stay there." Then he walked away. As soon as Theresa saw Ethan, she asked to speak to him in private. Ethan told her that he and Gwen plan on moving out of Harmony — and taking Jane. Theresa cried to her mom, who was disappointed that she didn't spill the beans to Ethan. Mrs. C said she'll tell L.E. who his real dad is after he's running the Crane empire. Pilar begged her daughter to find love and not be alone like she has been. Theresa hoped that Jared would see that she wanted to make sure he liked her for who she is before she revealed she was a Crane. Whitney tried once again to talk Jared into forgiving Theresa. "We need to talk," Theresa said to Jared.

Luis and his cadets returned to the police station from their tough run. Fancy tried to hide her cramp from Luis. He made her do 20 push-ups, so Paloma asked her brother to give Fancy a break. Luis, however, said he refuses to cut either of them any slack. Fancy was thrilled that she completed her task, but Luis said she needs to improve her upper-body strength. Though Fancy griped about her physical pain, she told Paloma that she loves the thought of being a cop. Alone, Paloma teased her brother about liking Fancy. Once his sis walked away, Luis had a flashback about kissing Fancy. In the locker room, Fancy stripped down to take a shower. She stepped into the stall and startled a showering Luis.
Jessica was surprised to see Simone — not Paloma — working at the Book Café. Simone told her friend that Paloma is in police training. When the conversation turned to Spike, Jess snapped and said she didn't want to talk about him. Simone asked Jess if Spike threatened to hurt her and that's why she married him. Jessica recalled his demand, but denied it to Simone. Later on, Jess stopped by the Lobster Shack to see if they were hiring. Two beer-guzzling guys who recognized her from high school and knew about her hooker past approached her. She made it clear that she's married and not looking to pick up johns. The guys told her the restaurant manager she wanted to see was out back. Once outside, Jessica grew uncomfortable and wanted to go back into the restaurant. It was too late, the guys from high school attacked her.
On the wharf, Jared was too hot to work with a shirt on, so, of course, he took it off. When Whitney commented on Jared's good looks, Chad was slightly jealous. When Whit mentioned she was going to pick up Theresa so she can help with the fair, Jared told her he doesn't want Mrs. Crane around. Whitney was determined to get Theresa and Jared together.
Pilar was about to tell Ethan and Julian that Ethan is Little Ethan's father. Theresa interrupted her mother and said it was her responsibility to tell them the truth. Little Ethan ran into the room, so Theresa ushered the men and her mom to the hallway. She then told Ethan and Jules that she will not give up custody of her son. In private, Julian asked Ethan to represent him in the custody case. Ethan agreed, but only for joint custody. Theresa was furious when Ethan told her that Julian hired him to sue for custody. Winthrop tried to convince her to do what is fair by letting Julian spend time with "his" son. Theresa agreed with her mom that it was time to tell Ethan he is her son's father.
Paloma, in lots of pain, arrived at the Book Café and told Simone how much Luis pushed her and Fancy. Simone filled her friend in on Jessica's search for a legitimate job.

Tabitha took Endora and Maria for a stroll on the wharf while Miguel, Fox and others were busy preparing the location for the carnival. Kay arrived and asked Endora to change her mind about sending Siren back to the ocean. The mermaid showed up and immediately flirted with the shirtless boys. Kay was thrilled to see Carl the fisherman. When Siren caught sight of him, she ran away, but the man chased her. Kay and Tabs noticed how disorganized the fair is being run. Miguel searched for someone in charge. Siren belted out her tune to get his attention. He fell into her spell and was drawn to the blonde. Kay and Carl looked for Siren and Miguel and heard her song. Kay rushed to stop her enemy from seducing Migs, and stuck Carl back on the mermaid. Miguel and Fox walked up as Kay was laughing about her trick.
At the Russell house, Eve begged someone on the phone to take care of organizing the fair. Julian tried to talk Eve into leaving Harmony with him, but she refused, feeling she needs to be with TC. Things got tense between the lovers when Jules expressed he felt as if Eve was choosing her ex over him. Crane stormed out. Eve apologized to TC. A very angry and frustrated TC told his ex-wife to leave. He became violent when Eve asked him not to push her away.
Gwen was happily surprised to see Ethan at the Book Café. She told her hubby that Jared broke up with Theresa. A thrilled Whitney and Chad showed up and shared the good news with Jared. Gwen overheard and congratulated Whitney. She then approached Whit about plotting to keep Jared in town. Whitney was all for it. Just as they were trying to think of an idea to keep Jared in Harmony, Whit received a call from her stressed-out mother. Whitney suggested hiring Jared to manage the fair. The girls then got Chad on board with scheming to get Jared and Theresa back together. Chad worked his magic to get Jared to run the event. When the men headed out, Gwen and Whitney were thrilled. Jared began shaping things up at the wharf.
Theresa found her mother checking Little Ethan's computer; Pilar was making sure his PC was protected against predators. She credited her knowledge to an episode of NBC's DATELINE. (Synergy!) Theresa vented about losing Jared. Pilar once again told her daughter to tell Ethan the truth about their son. Ethan showed up, much to Theresa's surprise. Pilar reminded her daughter that if Theresa didn't tell Ethan the truth, she would. Ethan said he couldn't believe the text message he received about Little Ethan. Theresa felt completely defeated and apologized to Ethan. "I should have told you," she said. Then she realized the text Pilar sent to Ethan was simply about the computer. Pilar snapped. As if she would tell something that big to Ethan via an text! Pilar pressured Theresa to tell Ethan that he's L.E.'s father. Just as Theresa was about to spill the paternity beans, Julian interrupted. In a tone resembling the crass ways of his past, Jules informed Theresa that he will be spending more time with Li'l Ethan. Ethan noted that Julian has a right to partial custody, and if he had a son by a woman he wasn't married to, he would demand to have his kid half of the year. Pilar pulled her daughter out of the room and told her to tell the truth. When Theresa refused, Pilar went back into the room and told the men she had something say.

Sheridan and James returned to the cottage, but she still couldn't shake the sight of Luis and Fancy together. Chris asked her what was on her mind. Sheridan assured Chris that taking care of James makes her happy. She took the boy to the kitchen for a snack. Chris received a call from Spike, who pressured him about getting the security codes for the Crane mansion. Chris told him he needs more time. Sheridan walked back in the room and asked her husband what he was doing with her PDA. He covered by saying it went off and he was bringing it to her. She noticed the box on the floor that she was sending to storage. She started going through the stuff inside, including a picture of her and Luis. As soon as Sheridan and James walked out of the living room again, Chris looked on her PDA for the security codes.
Fancy started acting like a princess during police training, so Paloma tried to talk her into pushing her girliness aside to impress Luis. However, when Luis told the recruits to carry a heavy object across the room, Fancy tried to back out of the challenge. Luis told Fancy she was first up and had 60 seconds to complete the task or else she was kicked out of the training program. The other three trainees cheered on Ms. Crane. Fancy was thrilled to hear she passed. Luis continued to direct the brutal drills. Fancy was panicked to see they had to climb a rope. Though she managed to get halfway up the rope, she fell. Luis harassed Fancy for not being as good as the rest of the group. Next up, running eight miles.
Gwen and Ethan were excited that they both landed a job. Ethan was surprised when Gwen announced that she still can't wait to move away from Harmony.
Chad ran into Jared in the hallway of Crane Industries. A furious Jared told Chad he never wants to see Theresa Crane again. Chad tried to make Jared see that Theresa is a great person and to give her another chance. Whitney rushed to Theresa's office, where Mrs. Crane told her what happened with Jared. Whitney tried to comfort her upset friend and told her that she still might have a chance with Jared. When Theresa left her office, Chad arrived, happily surprised to see Whitney instead of Mrs. Crane. Whit and Chad talked about Theresa and Jared's situation. Chad changed the subject to their own relationship. He got on one knee and proposed to Whitney with a huge diamond ring. She was thrilled to accept and start planning their big day. Whit immediately called the church to set a date. Feet away, Chad made a call and left a message saying he'll meet the person that night at a hotel.
While walking in the hallway, a distracted Theresa accidentally bumped into Ethan. He informed her that he and Gwen were hired on the tenth floor's law office. Theresa was happy to hear that Little Ethan and Jane will both be in the daycare in the building. Ethan accused her of fixing it so that they were hired there. She assured him that wasn't the case. Theresa filled Ethan in on the happenings with Jared. He told her there was someone out there for her.
At the Book Café, Gwen was thrilled to see Jared. When he told her his relationship with Theresa is over, a shocked Gwen tried to convince him that they made a great couple. Jared realized that Mrs. Winthrop just wants him to be with Theresa in order to keep her away from Ethan. He told her to find someone else to do her dirty work.
