PASSIONS Recaps Week of September 5, 2006

Chad and Whitney hugged as they looked at a sleeping Miles and reveled in their relationship. They expressed their gratitude for the miracle that revealed they weren't brother and sister after all. They took reassurance from the fact that Alistair is dead and can't bother them anymore. The two watched the NFL game on NBC (of course) and ate popcorn and rehashed their past histories. They were interrupted by a phone call from Chad's lover. Chad told the caller he looked forward to meeting tonight and said how much he missed them. Chad returned to Whitney and lied, saying he had to go to the office to take care of something that came up with his Pacific Rim project. Whitney said she wouldn't wait up for him, and kissed him goodnight. Chad went to his lover's apartment. Inside he could hear the shower running and saw steam coming from the bathroom. "Just what I need, a hot shower," said Chad, as he peeled off his shirt...

At Crane Industries, Theresa expressed her confidence and eagerness to Jared to take on Ethan in court and win their case. Theresa surmised part of Ethan's motivation is being jealous of the fact that she's moved on and has Jared in her life. She thanked Jared for remaining loyal to her. Jared told her she can trust him with her heart, and shared a secret with Theresa. Jared found a bottle of Champagne in the office break room. He and Theresa decided they deserved a break, and toasted their alliance — professional and personal. Their drinking lead to some serious smooching. But Jared said they needed to get back to work.

Over at Chris' office, Spike paid him an unannounced visit, and asked Chris what kind of yacht he should buy with the money Chris is going to embezzle for him. Spike continued to taunt Chris, and told him that the terms of their "arrangement" have changed — it's now an indefinite situation. Chris showed Spike his book of access numbers for all of Crane Industries' worldwide accounts. Chris showed Spike on his computer how he planned to embezzle the money. Spike planted seeds of doubt in Chris' mind over Sheridan's loyalty and commitment to him. Chris angrily insisted that Sheridan is over Luis, and said someone or something coming between him and Sheridan is the one thing that would drive him to murder. After Chris showed Spike out of his office, Spike snuck back in and got his hands on the Crane Industries accounts code book. Spike heard a noise and hid. Theresa entered Chris' office, saw the code book lying on Chris's desk, and locked it up. Just then she felt a hand grab her shoulder and she screamed.

Sheridan had second thoughts about seeing Luis, and decided not to enter the police station to visit him. She waited outside and eavesdropped on Luis and Miguel as they stepped outside the station. Luis encouraged Miguel to go after Kay. Luis said if two people really love each other then nothing should keep them apart. Sheridan said "You're right, Luis" to herself as she hid in the bushes around the corner. Sheridan declared that she'd never stop loving Luis. After Miguel left, Luis returned inside the stationhouse. Sheridan entered quietly, but decided against talking to him. She made noise when she exited that got Luis' attention. Luis ran after the person who ran out of the station, and tackled them, not knowing it was Sheridan until he was on top of her on the ground. Luis helped her up and apologized. Sheridan said she needed to be on her way, but Luis stopped her and said she obviously came by for a reason, and demanded to know what it was. Sheridan said it was nothing. Luis didn't believe her. Sheridan said it's wrong for her to be there because she's married to Chris and he's with Fancy. Luis said the only reason he's with Fancy is because he can't be with her. Luis told Sheridan he still loves her, and always will. Sheridan said she can't do this and must go...but Luis insisted she remain.

Fox tried to talk Kay into eloping that night. Kay stalled and said their parents would be disappointed if they denied them a proper ceremony. Kay did agree to move up the date as a compromise. Fox then surprised Kay with a formal romantic candlelit dinner, to thank her for her loyalty and devotion. On her place setting was a jewelry box containing a beautiful diamond pendant and necklace. Outside, Miguel approached the house with flowers for Kay. Miguel looked in through the window and saw Fox and Kay at their romantic dinner. Miguel watched them as they began to eat. Miguel spotted Kay's new jewelry and realized he can't compete with Fox, but then remembered Luis' words and renewed his commitment to fight for Kay, "no matter what it takes."

What secret did Jared share with Theresa?

Theresa directed Jared to find everything out about Stuart, especially "anything, illegal, immoral, or just plain unsavory that we can use against him in court." Shortly after, Julian stopped by to discuss the lawsuit. He blamed Theresa for not catching the problem before it started, but Theresa told him to calm down. "Such complete confidence from a total novice. Ha, ha, ha," Julian purred. He then suggested she didn't have what it takes to stand up to her Ethan, considering their past. "When it is over, there will be one person standing and that will be me," Theresa promised. When the conversation turned to Little E, Julian asked where she'd gotten her "new-found backbone." She sniffed that she'd learned from the best, Julian and Alistair. "I'm not sure my father would agree that I am made of the same stuff that he was," Julian countered. Theresa promised she'd focus on "beating my enemy into retreat after I tear them to shreds — and that includes Ethan." Julian ran into Jared on his way out and, unconvinced of Theresa's abilities, he offered Jared a job spying on her. An eavesdropping Theresa was relieved to hear Jared say, "I'm not going to go behind Theresa's back." Julian didn't give up, but Jared wouldn't give in. "Theresa may be as sweet as sugar now, but the lady is as volatile as a cat on a hot tin roof," Julian warned, so Jared showed him the door. When he went to Theresa's office, he didn't look surprise to find her listening behind the door. "There's not enough money in the world to make me turn on you like that," he cooed, so she doubled his salary. "Consider it a loyalty bonus," she smiled before they started going through the file he'd compiled on Stuart.

Ethan was turned off by Gwen's "glee" over his case against Crane, which she kept saying was against Theresa. "A lot of people that you know and that you care about...depend on Crane Industries for their livelihoods," he reminded her. Then they decided to have "a night cap and dessert" at the office. After that, Ethan got back to working on his settlement offer, but Gwen didn't like the idea of settling. "Why settle out of court when you can drag Crane and Theresa through the mud?" she asked, adding that the publicity would do him good. "Don't try to make me put my personal feelings ahead of the case," he insisted. Then Theresa interrupted to drop off Stuart's file. "Whatever you throw at me, I will throw back at you 10 times over," she threatened. "No one's going to walk over me again, and the sooner you realize that you cannot beat Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald-Crane, the better off you'll be."

Fox had another fantasy about killing Miguel, but Miguel turned around before he could stab him in the back. Fox played it cool when Kay came running, using the knife to cut an apple. "Want some?" he offered. Miguel went out, so Fox needled his fiancé. When she asked what was wrong, Fox leaned in and said, "I've been doing a lot of soul searching, and I've had a change of heart...about our future." She assumed the worst and he let her stew before explaining he just wanted to move up the date. "Let's elope," he proposed, but Kay wouldn't do it. She agreed to move up the date, even though she didn't look happy about that idea either.

Luis was at work, but couldn't get Sheridan and Fancy off his mind. "Fancy is a lot stronger than I give her credit for. In fact, she's just the kind of girl I could fall in love with. Why do I feel so torn?" he wondered. He was so frustrated that he wasn't allowed to move forward with his trainee that he slammed the rulebook into his desk — and caught his finger. Luckily, Miguel arrived to distract him by winging about Kay. "You better stake your claim before it's too late," Luis warned. Miguel, who had residual feelings about their shower make out session even though the memory itself was erased by Tabitha, admitted he was confused about what Kay wanted. "Don't give up 'till she says yes," Luis insisted. Sheridan, meanwhile, was having a similar convo with her mother. Katherine arrived to find Sher still crying over Luis' kiss with Fancy. "Will my heart ever stop breaking?" she asked her mom. Katherine correctly guessed that James was a large part of her commitment to Chris and told her to follow her heart back to Luis. "Darling, how can you be a great wife or a great mother when your heart lies elsewhere?" she asked. "Please just let Luis know how you feel." Convinced, Sheridan set out to find Luis.

Fancy was surprised when Luis returned to the pool, but she wasn't complaining. Once he got her to stop backpedaling their earlier conversation, Luis finally admitted, "I was using you. I'm sorry. And then, after more of Fancy's stammering, he clarified that he did have feelings for her. "I want to start fresh. I want what we have to be genuine and real," he cooed. She jumped for joy into the pool and pulled fully uniformed Luis in after her. Then he remembered they weren't allowed to date, so he suggested she drop out of training so they could. He'd correctly assumed she'd joined the training to get to him, but Fancy surprised him and herself when she revealed, "Now I'm into it. I don't want to stop, even to go out with you." They decided to wait, sealing the deal with some "friend to friend" kisses, which looked no different than a make out kiss. She left Luis on his knees in the pool.

After tying beekeeper Tabitha down, Kay told her she was sure Fox wasn't the type to "even hurt a fly," but her jealous beau was about to drop a hair dryer into Miguel's cold shower. Luckily, Fox imagined how furious Kay would be when she found them and decided against it. "Not yet," he schemed and walked out. Kay then rushed in looking for him and was quickly pulled into the shower for a make out session with Miguel. As she tried to deny his advances, Tabby whipped something up that made Miguel forget everything they'd done. When it worked, Miguel rushed Kay out, worried Fox would catch them. He had a few confusing flashbacks of their heated session, but chalked it up to, "wishful thinking on my part." Sadly, there was nothing Tabitha could do to make Fox forget. He was furious at Kay, though he hid it from her (barely!). She begged him to make love to her, so he did, but he was no more relaxed when they finished. Downstairs, Tabby realized she had to get out of Dodge before anyone else saw her. When she told Miguel she was taking off and leaving Endora under their care, he asked her to leave a number. "I doubt they have 411 on Saturn," she said as an aside. Glowing from her sexcapade with Fox, Kay came down for a chat with Tabitha. She was convinced Fox wasn't mad, but Tabby said that wasn't likely since the curse was broken. A knife-wielding Fox, meanwhile, was approaching Miguel from behind.

Theresa couldn't believe Ethan was going to help Stuart with his vendetta. "You can't do this, Ethan," a betrayed Theresa pleaded. "If you destroy my company, you destroy me." When she tried to tell Stuart she wasn't the one responsible for stalking his patent, Gwen needled her, pointing out she WAS the head of Crane Industries. When Ethan sent Stuart away, the girls went back and forth, as expected. Theresa finally turned her attention back to Ethan, questioning his motives. Ethan recalled how she'd professionally blackballed him and insisted that, now that he finally had a job, Stuart's case could help him make partner. Ethan only got angrier when Jared defended her, so he excused himself, but Theresa stopped him. "You decided to take the case after you saw Jared and me making love," she guessed correctly. Ethan was caught, but Gwen backed him up, insisting it wasn't about their connections. She glowed happily as Ethan shot, "Theresa, from here on in, you should consider any relationship that we have to be completely adversarial," but then Theresa responded "How could you? After —" "After what?!" Gwen asked, but she seemed to have forgotten the question by the end of the commercial break. "I think Theresa is finally out of our lives for good," she concluded.

Fox fumed as he watched Kay and Miguel get hot and heavy. Kay was getting into it, so she reminded herself that the point was to get Fox angry, not get off! Fox recalled Julian's Cranian advice to keep his anger in check and when he shook it off, he realized he'd clenched his fists so hard his hand was bleeding. He went outside to cool off and, luckily enough, ran into his father, who was also "walking off" some anger. It seems his dinner with Eve was nothing but calls from TC's doctors. "Our ancestors had it right," Julian sighed. "Their women did what they were told." Fox got hot headed again, but his father stopped him from pounding Miguel. "Stay calm," Julian ordered, saying "cold anger" was more powerful than "rage." Kay, meanwhile, stopped making out with Miguel and put her clothes back on. "Let's make a family," Miguel begged, but Kay left after insisting it was "wrong." She ran downstairs to find Tabitha and Siren in the kitchen. Tabby hid under her bee's bonnet, because the ailing witch was, as Siren put, "absolutely disgusting." Tabitha needed to hit Saturn to heal, but was waiting out the reversal of Siren's curse. The three ladies sparred verbally until Siren realized Miguel was all steamed up and taking a cold shower. She raced to go service him, so Kay got physical. She had the mer-slut in a headlock, but had to let go when Tabby started floating away. That kept her busy while Siren interrupted Miguel's shower with her song and a kiss. Outside, Fox admitted to Julian that he'd felt jealous. The word repeated and everyone seemed to hear it. "You did it girl!" cheered Tabitha, as music heralded the first time the mermaid's curse had ever been overturned. A scowling Miguel got over Siren's song and sent her out of the shower. Siren stormed out, worried about her curse and a gloating Kay told her to get lost. All was well, except that her success meant Fox had "murder on his mind." The furious Crane slipped into the bathroom as Miguel showered. He prepared to give Miguel the shock of his life — with a hair dryer!

Sheridan struggled to forget the image of Luis and Fancy making out in the pool, while back at the pool, Fancy enjoyed the view of Luis toweling off. When Fancy asked Luis about "those kisses" they'd shared, he just cozied up for more, but she wanted to know if the kisses were for her benefit or for Sheridan's. "I'm not a substitute for any other woman, so tell me straight. Were you kissing me because you're trying to get over Aunt Sheridan?" she demanded. He avoided the question by saying he wasn't supposed to kiss trainees, but was glad he'd kissed her because he liked her. She noted that she wouldn't always be a trainee and that she'd be there for him when that time came. "Fancy, we're not even officially dating yet," he grumbled, though he did call her "the girl that every guy dreams about" before leaving her. She hoped he'd get over Sheridan, who was busy "moving on" at the cottage by burning her photo of Luis. Big surprise, Luis accidentally walked to the cottage to see her. "It's like all roads lead to Sheridan," he marveled, but then was crushed to see she was burning their memories. Instead of saying something, he returned to the pool and offered himself to Fancy. Oh, but no. That was just Fancy's fantasy and she decided she'd be there waiting when Luis finally got over Sheridan. Fancy's fantasy wasn't actually far from the truth, however. "It's really over between the two of us," Luis bemoaned and walked away...only to miss the fact that Sheridan rescued her most precious memory.

Gwen and Ethan found each other in the hall just as Theresa started screaming for help. Ethan raced to help and Gwen rolled her eyes, but followed. The King of Misunderstandings rounded a corner to see Jared over Theresa, so he punched Jared. Jared explained that he'd also come to Theresa's rescue. Then Theresa asked why he had injuries on both sides of his head. When Jared noted how long he'd been gone, Gwen put two and two together and guessed that Theresa had been with Ethan during the blackout. Theresa (lied and) denied it and then she and Jarred worried about each other. Though they'd both been attacked, everyone agreed Mrs. Crane was the likely target, since she had a lot of enemies. "Like me?" Stuart asked as he came upon the group. Theresa invited him to calm down and talk during business hours, but he threatened, "I'm taking you to court. And you know what? With what I got on you and your evil little empire, I'm going to bury Crane. I'm taking the whole company down." Theresa told him to do biz with her or "prepare for destruction." Stuart was not deterred, since he had an inside source, a lawyer with all the goods on Crane. "Who have you hired that's prepared to knife me in the back?" she demanded. It was, of course, Ethan, who enjoyed dropping that bomb on her.
