PASSIONS Recaps Week of October 30, 2006Friday, November 3, 2006 No matter how Fox soothed her, Kay couldn't stop replaying the "everybody hates me" song (though, thankfully, she stopped short of eating worms). She seemed most upset over Miguel, but then panicked when she realized she'd have to face her mother. When she finally fell asleep, she dreamt of how difficult it would be to convince Grace that she wasn't "selfish and wicked" anymore. She woke with a start when her mother snarled, "Miguel should be with someone who deserves him. I'm going to go find Charity and bring her right back here to Miguel." Grace, meanwhile, was storming at Ivy over the phone, warning she'd kill her when she landed back in Harmony. Ivy tried to apologize, but that just made infamously sweet Grace blow her top. Before taking the phone back, Sam told Ivy to be out of his home. Then, after some cooing to his wife, he told Grace about Kay's involvement. Ivy took pleasure in overhearing that. Grace sounded crushed, but not as angry as Kay expected. WRONG! Grace immediately called her, storming, "It's too late to be sorry. You are no longer my daughter. You are a heartless monster, and I hate you. I wish I had never given birth to you."
Gwen and Rebecca wanted to know what JT had on their nemesis and JT said he'd love to tell them...if they paid him more than Theresa had. Beccs sent Gwen out to get be sure Theresa wasn't around, promising to keep JT "happy." Gwen prayed the coast was clear and it was, as long as Theresa and Whitney stayed in the bathroom. The best pals were heatedly discussing whether Theresa should finally let all the truths be revealed. Theresa, as always, focused on the worst-case scenarios. Whit made several good arguments for the truth, stressing that no matter the outcome, Little Ethan would "have his father." When Theresa couldn't be convinced, an exasperated Whitney finally accused, "You're giving up a chance of happiness with a man you love for money. You're letting money come between you and your dream." Theresa finally saw the light and excitedly set out to set the truth free. She called JT's cell...and heard it ring! She caught him sneaking out the back way in a "Gwen and Rebecca sandwich" and swore she'd win this round and see the truth revealed.
Thursday, November 2, 2006 Paloma and Luis questioned a man on the docks about Fancy. The man insisted he hadn't heard anything on the street on her whereabouts. When Luis tried to rough up the guy for answers, the man threatened to claim police brutality. When it was clear the man knew nothing Luis let him go. Paloma told Luis she knows he really loves Fancy, but Luis denied it. Luis insisted he merely cares for her. At the Blue Note, Ivy pleaded with Sam for forgiveness. Ivy insisted they've always belonged together. Their conversation was interrupted by a call to Sam from Grace. Sam told Grace there was something of vital importance to discuss: Her marriage to David is a sham. David isn't really David, and John really isn't her son. Grace expressed disbelief while Sam explained that everything was one big elaborate sham by Ivy so she could have Sam for herself. Grace couldn't accept it, even when Sam told her Ivy admitted the whole thing. Grace said she needed to confront David to hear it for herself. Grace got back on the line and told Sam that David confessed to everything, but insisted he really does love her. Grace expressed her sorrow for leaving Sam and her kids for what turned out to be a lie. Grace asked Sam for his forgiveness, but Sam said there's nothing to be sorry about. Grace asked Sam to put Ivy on the phone with her. Grace told Ivy she's coming home — and when she returns to Harmony she's going to kill her. As Whitney and Chad danced, Whitney expressed her love for Chad and how happy she was that, at long last, all of the lies and secrets between them are no more. Chad felt guilt over his ongoing infidelity to her. Ivy and Whitney got into an argument over Ivy's betrayal of Sam and his family. Ivy revealed to an astonished Whitney that Eve helped her pull off her big scam. Ivy said if she doesn't believe her, just ask Eve herself. When Whitney called Eve, she confirmed Ivy's story. A disgusted Whitney told Eve she's ashamed of her, while Chad told Jared how close Whitney came to discovering his affair with Valerie. Jared suggested Chad cool it for a while with Valerie. Chad conceded he wasn't sure if he could. Theresa explained to Jared that what's going on with her now has nothing to do with Jared — it's about Little Ethan, and her need to sacrifice being with Ethan for their son's sake. Ethan overheard, and asked Theresa what she was talking about when she said she was going to "sacrifice being with him for Little Ethan's sake." Theresa insisted he misheard her. When Ethan demanded an explanation, Jared excused himself. Theresa offered a lame excuse but Ethan wasn't having any of it. Ethan asked Theresa if there's a way for them to be together; if so, tell him. Theresa said she already tried, but he refuses to believe her allegations that Gwen and Theresa were behind his paternity scandal. Ethan insisted that if there really was proof of it then that would make all the difference. But Theresa questioned if that meant he'd really leave Gwen. Ethan swore that if there was proof that Gwen did what Theresa has accused her of, he'd "leave her in a heartbeat." Theresa was happy at first, but panicked when Ethan reiterated that he could never be with a woman who deceived him like that. Theresa ran off, leaving Ethan frustrated and bewildered. Theresa found Whitney and told her what happened. Theresa expressed her fear of losing Ethan if he learned the truth about everything. Rebecca and Gwen shoved JT into a closet and demanded to know what Theresa's secret is. JT teased that Theresa is hiding "a lot." JT said Theresa paid him handsomely to keep his mouth shut. The two women offered to pay him more. JT said if they could double what Theresa paid him, he'll spill the beans. Gwen asked him to at least tell them what it is that Theresa stands to lose. Something "much bigger than Ethan," was all JT would coyly offer.
Wednesday, November 1, 2006 The Blue Note was still the place to be, with most of Harmony stopping in for a drink, dance, romp or catfight. Ivy found Sam leaving Grace an urgent message and later chatting with Noah, but he wouldn't give the apologetic manipulator the time of day. Undaunted, Ivy sat down at his table and begged him to understand her "mistakes." "Haven't you ever wanted someone so much that you would do anything in the world to make them yours? Ok, I was weak, and I couldn't stand the thought of my life without you...I didn't do this to hurt you, or to hurt Grace, or to hurt anyone else. I just did it for us." It looked like she was making ground, but then Grace called. Out on the dance floor, Ethan grumbled over his mother's lies and dishonesty, until Gwen spotted Theresa with a man she (and Theresa) feared was JT. It was actually Jared, who Theresa had accidentally stood up, and the smart guy quickly clued into the fact that it had been a banner Gwen/Theresa night. When Gwen returned to dance with Ethan, Theresa balked at opening up to Jared, so he left her there. She and Whitney discussed the dangers of secrets and she wished she hadn't lost Jared. That's when he returned with flowers and an apology. In the midst of this, JT did actually show up with Rebecca, but they went straight back to the storage room for some privacy. Beccs rocked his world and then locked him in. Somehow, he got out before she could tell Gwen about her surprise, but Gwen spotted him in time. She sent Ethan to get a table and joined Rebecca in wrestling JT back to the storage room. At the cottage, Luis, Paloma, Sheridan and Chris wondered whom Fancy might be chasing after. Sheridan and Luis argued about his suspicions about Chris, but after a final threat, the top cop focused his attention on finding Fancy. When he tried calling her again, Spike had her sparkly cell and she was still out cold next to him. Instead of answering the phone, the sicko tied, gagged and blindfolded Fancy and then enjoyed watching her try to break free. Luis, who was feeling guilty about her involvement and very worried (which Sheridan didn't miss), set out to join the search teams.
Tuesday, October 31, 2006 Ivy's fall from GRACE was the talk of the Blue Note. At one table, the schemer herself filled Eve in and warned that her part in the ruse, namely those falsified DNA results, was bound to come out next. "You chose to protect yourself rather than save your best friend's marriage," Ivy shot and Julian overheard enough to get a good laugh at his exes. "Lucky Ethan. He was able to get rid of me as his father. Now he'll no doubt discard you as his mother," he shot at Ivy, and then he turned on Eve. "You parade around here like a paragon of virtue. You even preached to me about, 'Oh, Julian, you've changed!' The hypocrisy." Eve was crushed when he left and even more upset when she thought of how Whitney would react to the news. Ivy was equally worried about Ethan, but said she'd do it all again to have some time with Sam. The only lesson she'd learned? "This is what comes of trusting people. I would rely only on myself, and that way the truth would never come out." Over at the bar, Ethan was unforgiving of his mother's manipulations, while Noah was surprisingly understanding, considering it was his broken family that bore the brunt of them. He empathized with Ivy and then insisted, "Your mother wouldn't have been able to break my parents apart if their love had been stronger." Ethan stopped him when he got too "cynical" about love, saying, "Sure, there's bumps in the road, but true love, true love usually wins out in the end. Perfect example, look at Chad and Whitney." Bad example. Whitney was across the room apologizing to Chad for believing he was in that cruddy hotel cheating with Valerie. She got a good laugh at the fact that Val was getting it on there, not suspecting her man had been busy there too. Chad was saved by the arrival of a pumped up Theresa and left the girls to their usual Ethan and Chad talk. When Chad returned, they all toasted themselves. Then Whit unknowingly twisted the guilt knife in Chad's heart by saying, "I kind of feel sorry for Valerie. I mean, having to stoop so low to go to some seedy motel, you know? It's kind of degrading." When Theresa went to buy the next round, Chad chided Whitney about her and Theresa keeping Little E's paternity a secret. Then Gwen arrived to join Ethan and, she, like Noah, at first empathized with Ivy. "Don't you dare try to justify her, because I don't have one speck of tolerance for that kind of behavior," Ethan snarled. "I'm just glad that we don't have those kind of secrets between us." Yeah, right! Meanwhile, at the cottage, Chris walked in just in time to see Sheridan slap Luis and he immediately denied killing Phyllis. Sheridan remained convinced Luis was after Chris because he was married to her and Chris seemed to agree, though he tried to calm the situation. After telling Luis of Chris' heroic assistance in "the FBI bring[ing] down one of the mob enterprises," Sheridan compared Luis to conspiracy theorist Oliver Stone. Things stayed heated even after Paloma interrupted and told them Fancy had gone blindly after the killer, not having seen his face. "That proves that Chris didn't do it!" Sheridan insisted and lying Chris again denied knowing anything about the murder. Luis called Fancy's cell, but Spike knocked her out before she could answer.
Monday, October 30, 2006 Gwen taunted Theresa, insisting her payoff for JT was too late because her big secret was already out. Too bad Rebecca accidentally spoiled her bluff — and left JT alone while she hit the store for condoms! Theresa ran to find JT, with her girlfriend Whitney at her side, and the pair ran into him just as Gwen and Rebecca caught up. Drunk JT dodged them all and they set out searching the hotel. When Gwen and Theresa found him, Theresa waved her money in his face and got him to ditch Gwen with her. Rebecca, who was getting bored of the chase, intentionally misled Whit, making her believe that JT was in Chad's secret cheating room. Chad panicked when Whit started banging on the door, demanding JT come out. Whitney stormed in, finding Valerie in bed and putting two and two together. She beat on the hidden figure, assuming it was Chad. Instead it was some guy named Stan, and Whitney was full of apologies when Chad showed up from outside the room. Having set that whole thing up, Rebecca rejoined her daughter and started making sexy catcalls for JT. To Theresa's dismay, JT threw her aside, singing, "You may have the money, but my Beccs, she's got the honey." JT ran for her voice, but became less and less sure as the ladies yelled competing orders at him and closed in on him. He was too drunk to choose money or sex and soon found Theresa and Gwen playing tug-o-war with him. Sheridan went up against Luis when she heard he was at the cottage to arrest her hubby for Phyllis' murder. The top cop outlined all the evidence, including the paper's connection to the Omega Society. "You think Chris is one of Alistair's pawns," Sheridan marveled and then offered explanations for what she considered "the thinnest of evidence." She didn't hold back her insults and even threatened Luis' job. Luis pointedly asked where her "faithful husband" was, but went too far when he said, "He's just another one of those guys who was hired by your father to get close to you." Sheridan took that to mean no man could really love her, accused Luis of being one of Alistair's cronies all along and then spat, "You say that you want to protect me? My father used to say that he always wanted to protect me from you. And you know what? It's all becoming so clear now. You and my father are exactly alike!" They were nose to nose in their fury and Sheridan didn't back down from her appalling comparison, ultimately reminding him that his inability to believe that Marty was hers caused their son's death. She compared the patronizing love Luis gave her to that which one gives a dog or a child and slapped him. Chris, meanwhile, was having it out with Spike, who maintained Chris was to blame for the murder. "I had to kill Phyllis to clean up your mess," he snarled, but Chris said he'd made things worse, especially since he'd left the Omega doc behind. He refused to let Spike refer to him as his partner and when he said Alistair's death set him free to be with Sheridan and their family, Spike warned, "He is still controlling us all from beyond the grave and you know it. We still work for him, my friend." Then he slugged Chris and warned him not to make another mistake, but Chris was more concerned about all of Spike's mistakes. "Our luck is going to run out," he said. When he walked away, Spike chuckled, "Your luck is already run out there, pretty boy. You just don't know it yet," but Spike was the one out of luck. He stopped for a cigarette right in front of the room James and Fancy were in...and was fingered by James! The cadet had just determined that James had seen his father's shooter and that that person was around for the murder when James cried, "There he is!"
