Luis jumped down the shaft after Fancy fell. Paloma and Sheridan were happy to see Sam arrive to help. With Indiana Jones-like skills, Luis caught Fancy mid-fall. The two were held by a rope. Sam informed them it might take days to get down to them. The rope came loose and the duo plummeted to the ground. "I can't lose another brother," cried Paloma while Sheridan screamed for Luis. He answered to let them know he is alive, then made it over to check on Fancy, who was unconscious. He held her in his arms and begged her not to die. He recalled several happy moments with her and said, "I love you."

Kay and Miguel asked Fox if he had just been on the phone, but he denied it. He continued to put on his act and apologized to Miguel for being mean to him. Boy, did he work it by talking about getting a wake-up call from God, loving Kay, finalizing the wedding plans and acting sick. Once alone, Miguel asked Kay when she plans on calling off the wedding. Migs told her they need to tell Fox right away.

Theresa rubbed her victory in Gwen's face. Mrs. C took off with J.T. so they can tell Ethan that Gwen was the tabloid source. Over the phone, Gwen told her mom she lost by $100. Bec was holding the money, but didn't tell her daughter. Ethan knocked on the bathroom door, and Rebecca pretended to be Gwen. Bec explained what was going on to Gwenie. Ethan suggested joining his "wife" in the shower. Disguising her voice, Becky told him no. He said they need to talk about Theresa's claim that she was the tabloid's source. Theresa's glow faded when J.T.'s car didn't start. Cornell suggested fate wanted Gwen to get to Ethan first. Gwen sped away while Theresa and tried to fix J.T.'s "tin can." Gwen arrived at the B&B, nervous about what she was about to walk in on. Becca called her from the bathroom and told her daughter to hide until she gets Ethan out of the room. Then, Gwen sneaked into the bathroom. She found out her mother had the $100 that made her lose the competition with Theresa. Bec demanded Gwen do what it takes — seduce, drug, leave town — to keep Ethan away from Theresa. Gwen put on a shower cap and robe and joined her husband in the bedroom. She suggested they grab their passports and take an impromptu vacation. While Gwen smooched Ethan, Rebecca slid out of the room. Theresa and J.T finally got on the road and rushed to the B&B. Mrs. C arrived, only to be greeted by Rebecca, who high-kicked Theresa to the floor. The women battled it out using umbrellas! Ethan heard the rumble, but Gwen covered by saying it was probably Mrs. Henderson being clumsy. Gwen told Ethan that he's the love of her life and would do anything to keep them together. He asked if she was referring to the tabloid. "Was it you and your mother who outted me as a Bennett and then framed Theresa for it?" he said. Theresa fought to get to Ethan. Um, why didn't the desperate Theresa just scream his name? Gwen struggled to tell her husband the truth. Ethan headed to check out all the noise, but Gwen told him not to. She pulled him into a kiss. Theresa barged through the door and yelled for J.T. to come up to Ethan's room. She told Ethan Cornell has the proof to expose Gwen.

Through the window, Fox watched a reunited Kay and Miguel kiss outside of Tabitha's house. Crane realized he had to do whatever it takes to prevent Kay from breaking off their engagement. The duo walked into the house together, planning to tell Fox they are getting married. Kay and Migs overheard Fox on the phone with his doctor, who told him he's dying. Fox expressed his concern for Kay and Maria after his death. Fox was totally putting on an act, but Kay fell for it and told Miguel they can't tell the "dying" guy that they want to be together. Fox went on to tell the "doc" that he wasn't going to tell Kay that he's dying so that she will be happy during his last few months alive. Once he was finished with his chat, Fox put the phone back on the receiver and secretly plugged it back in. He walked into the hallway and asked Kay and Migs why they were there. Miguel said they had something to tell them.

In order to prevent Ethan from learning Gwen wasn't home, Rebecca slid into her sleeping son-in-law's bed and pretended to be her daughter. A groggy Ethan kissed Beck's neck, thinking she was his wife. Rebecca struggled with whether or not to take advantage of the situation. She got out of bed and debated what to do. She pulled out a blonde wig from her handbag and returned to bed. "Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson," Bec said just before she smooched Ethan, who woke up and was shocked to see her on the other end of his lips. Wait! That was just a prediction Rebecca thought would happen. She was still out of bed holding the wig.

Theresa and Gwen bumped into each other at J.T.'s hotel. Mrs. Crane said whomever has the most money to buy off the reporter wins. Cornell welcomed the women. They handed over the bags full of cash and he counted it to see who brought the most. J.T. asked the women what was so special about Ethan. The girls gave their answer while Cornell celebrated his early retirement. The women nervously waiting while J.T. tallied up the dough. When he spit out Gwen's name, she celebrated her win. "I was about to tell you how sorry I am that you lost," he said to a frantic Gwen. She lost by $100, which Rebecca had in her paws! Ethan began to wake up and asked for Gwen. Rebecca panicked and chugged a cocktail.

Luis, Paloma and Sheridan arrived in the cave, surprised to see Chris. An injured Fancy remained on a wooden board that dangled above a pit. Luis called for Fancy, but there was no answer. Sheridan asked her husband how he knew to come to the cave. He covered by saying he went off of Luis saying she was in a dark place and he wanted to check it out without giving them false hope. Fancy woke up and screamed when she realized the danger she was in. By following her voice, Luis found Fancy. "Help me, Luis. Please don't let me die," she yelled as the rope holding the board began to snap. Luis grabbed the rope Boothe suspiciously brought with him. Chris's foot accidentally caused a wood panel to drop toward Fancy, who ducked for cover. Luis dropped the rope down to Fancy while he held on the other end to reel her up. The knot she wrapped around her waste came undone and the board continued to fall. Luis encouraged her to quickly tighten the rope around her. It was too late, the plank holding Fancy propelled several feet.

As Gwen and Rebecca counted stacks of cash, Gwen realized they were short the amount promised to buy J.T.'s silence. Ethan walked in and asked what his wife had just said. She came up with a convincing cover story. When Ethan went to get some shut-eye, Gwen stunned her mom by asking for her divorce settlement money. Rebecca very reluctantly agreed.

Theresa retrieved greenbacks from her office safe to buy J.T.'s info on Gwen. Believing Whitney was in the room, she blurted that the dough will help her win back Ethan. Too bad she was really speaking to Jared, who wanted to know if she was dumping him. Theresa did her best to let him down gently. He asked if she and Ethan will be running Crane Industries together. Theresa said when she reclaims her ex, she'll give up the company so that Little Ethan won't grow up corrupted by money. Giving it the old college try, Jared pulled Theresa into a long, steamy kiss, but her mind was on Ethan. Jared conceded that her heart belongs to someone else and offered to help her by running to the vault for more money.

In the wake of his psychic episode, Luis called the authorities with clues about Fancy's whereabouts. Sheridan pouted over her ex having a mystical connection to someone other then herself. In the meantime, a guilt-ridden Chris slipped out to see if Fancy was still alive. A short time later, Luis got a call that Fancy's car was near the caves. Luis, Paloma and Sheridan also headed to the mineshaft. Chris tried to avoid detection, but he was confronted by an angry Sheridan and Luis. Meanwhile, the cable suspending Fancy started to break. The barely-conscious heiress was in danger of plunging to her death.

Miguel continued to urge Kay to end her engagement to Fox. Overwhelmed, she wouldn't make an immediate decision and went to check on the baby. Fox and a drunken Julian eavesdropped and the elder Crane advised his son to kill his rival. Fox balked. A short time later, Kay came back and told Miguel she wants him.

Theresa and Gwen both left on their missions to pay off J.T. Gwen asked her mom to keep an eye on Ethan, who was asleep. Rebecca obliged by slipping into her shirtless son-in-law's bedroom.

A trapped Fancy weakly cried out to Luis from the bottom of the mineshaft. Luis, meanwhile, was at Sheridan's cottage and woozy from the sleeping pill she'd slipped in his drink. As Sheridan, Paloma and Chris looked on, the cop had a vision of Fancy calling out to him, but was too out of it to get to his feet. Paloma fretted over her brother's trance-like state. Luis had an astral conversation with the apparition, who gave clues to her whereabouts. When Luis snapped out of it, he insisted that he hadn't been asleep and that Fancy had been there at the cottage. Chris privately feared Fancy may not be dead after all. Sher admitted to Luis that she'd drugged his coffee in order to let him get some rest. He scolded his ex, but noted that the drugged state helped him to communicate with Fancy. Sheridan said she'd thought they alone shared such a mystical connection.

Kay told Miguel about her conversation with Grace and reported that her mom had forgiven her. She confessed that she'd lashed out at her mother because Grace hadn't supported her pursuit of Miguel. He replied that he'd been too caught up with Charity to notice and apologized, noting that life might have turned out so different for them. Kay said she loves Miguel with her whole heart. He said he loves her, too and asked Kay to call off the wedding to Fox. She wasn't ready to take such a big step.

At the Blue Note, Theresa implored Ethan to follow her to the storage room where J.T. was hiding with Gwen and Rebecca. Gwen panicked, but Rebecca said she had a plan, which she whispered in her daughter's ear. When Theresa flung open the door, Ethan marched in and J.T. was nowhere to be found, but Gwen seemed to be passed out. Ethan dropped to his wife's side and brushed off Theresa's rantings about J.T., who'd slipped out the back with Rebecca. Cornell wanted a quickie, but Rebecca worried that she'd killed Gwen when she knocked her out. Gwen regained consciousness and slyly lied to Ethan that Theresa hit her in the head with a wood plank. Theresa hotly defended herself, but Ethan stood by Gwen. Rebecca walked in and Theresa lunged at her, which only made Ethan doubt her more. After Ethan took Gwen home, J.T. phoned Theresa and offered to expose Gwen's tabloid lie ... for cash.

Over the phone, Grace yelled at Kay for stabbing her in the back. Kay blamed Grace for her malicious behavior, saying that once Charity arrived, Grace played favorites with her cousin and pushed Kay aside. Kay recalled how her mom urged Miguel and Charity to get together, even though her daughter was in love with him. "I turned on you," Kay admitted. Grace felt horrible and apologized for saying she wished Kay were never born. The conversation turned mushy. Grace asked Kay why she's marrying Fox if Miguel is back in her life. She explained that Fox fell in love with her when Migs was out of the picture. Grace tried to talk her girl out of marrying the Crane, and asked if she no longer loves Miguel. Kay admitted to still loving her childhood crush. "You tell Miguel that I said he's had enough time to think," said Grace. "If he loves you, he'll take you back." She encouraged Kay to tell Miguel how she feels before she marries Fox. "You tell him that I forgive you and that he should, too," Grace added. A teary Kay was appreciative and ran off to find Miguel. On the wharf, Miguel talked with Pilar about Kay's secret that came out. Pilar pointed out that the church teaches forgiveness and that Kay has changed for the better. Just when Pilar left her son's side, Kay arrived.

In an alley, Ethan helped Chad, who was struggling to get his car to start. Ethan said he's trying to get Theresa to confess the secret she's keeping. Inside, Theresa pushed Rebecca out and locked Gwen and J.T. in the Blue Note's storage room. Gwen began choking Theresa, and two brawled then each Cornell by the arm. Gwen urged him to spill Theresa's secret, while Mrs. Crane wanted him to tell Ethan all about Gwen. Whitney asked Becca if she's seen Theresa. Rebecca told Whit that Chad is cheating on her. Whitney accused her of lying, but Bec insisted a naked Chad was at the seedy motel. Whitney ran out of the club and didn't talk to Chad on her way out. Theresa trapped Cornell and Gwen in the storage room and screamed for Ethan to come hear the truth from J.T.

After Fancy plummeted down the mineshaft, Chris called for her. Spike was sure the Crane heiress fell to her death. He told Boothe that if she did survive, he can identify him, and therefore Spike will bring Chris down with him. Spike split, and Chris covered the hole Fancy fell through then left. At Sheridan's cottage, Luis blamed himself for Fancy's disappearance. Sheridan and Paloma tried to comfort him. When he started to look for her again, the women told him he needed to take a break. The cop asked where Chris went. Sheridan informed him that her husband is looking for Fancy, then insisted Luis enjoy some coffee before returning to the search. Believing the officer was in need of rest, she dropped a sleeping pill in his cup. When he tried to stand up, he got dizzy and agreed to take a quick nap. Sher filled his sister in on her trick to get him to snooze. In his sleep, Luis heard Fancy's voice asking him to help her and get her out of the dark place. He woke up and said, "I'm coming Fancy. Don't die." Chris walked through the door.
