PASSIONS Recaps Week of August 6, 2007

Friday, August 10, 2007
Luis enjoyed his newfound freedom, and declared it was time to celebrate with Fancy and Pilar. While Luis ran to get some champagne, Pilar advised Fancy that she needs to tell Luis what happened with Pretty before they get married. Luis returned with the champagne and the three of them toasted his freedom and new beginnings. When Luis stepped away Fancy expressed her fears to Pilar that she'll lose Luis if she tells him the truth. Fancy and Luis retreated to her bedroom and the two pronounced their love for each other.

Eve visited Vincent in his prison cell. "I know you're furious with me but I couldn't let an innocent man die for your crimes," Eve told Vincent, who flipped out on Eve and told her she wanted to bury the truth along with her shame. "You're dead to me," Vincent told Eve. A hotshot psychiatrist friend of Eve's arrived to help Eve with her patient. The psychiatrist was surprised to learn that the patient Eve spoke to her about was her son. When Vincent offered to hug Eve he began to strangle and choke her. The psychiatrist used some self-defense techniques to subdue Vincent and warned him that if he wants to avoid execution he needs to shape up and follow her guidance. The psychiatrist gave Vincent her initial impressions about him, and he acknowledged she was on target. The psychiatrist said she felt confident they could build a psychiatric defense for him. A tearful Vincent asked Eve if she agreed with the psychiatrist, and Eve said yes. Vincent relented and agreed to work with them. Vincent and Eve shared an emotional hug and cry.

Ethan told Theresa it was nice of her to not press charges against Sheridan, and expressed his excitement at their future and their wedding. Theresa said she knew what it was like to go to extreme measures for love. Ethan got on bended knee and formally proposed to her. Theresa happily accepted and they sealed the proposal with a kiss. After snuggling and kissing on the bed Theresa suggested that they elope. Their continued flirtations quickly drove them into making love. Meanwhile, Rebecca learned from Gwen that Luis wasn't executed after all. Gwen proceeded to recap the whole Vincent reveal to Rebecca. Beccs wanted Gwen to squeal to Ethan about Theresa ASAP, but Gwen convinced her mom it would better to wait for just the "right" time. Gwen decided to wait until Ethan and Theresa's wedding day to drop the bomb, but as the sounds of Theresa and Ethan lovemaking drifted through the walls, Gwen appeared to be reconsidering.

Sheridan lobbied Pretty for her support in pulling the plug on Fancy's relationship with Luis. Sheridan explained how Luis was spared thanks to Pretty's "new" half-brother, Vincent. Sheridan urged Pretty to help her, but Pretty told Sheridan she had a change of heart after speaking with Father Lonigan. Sheridan persisted, but Pretty resisted. Sheridan tried to provoke Pretty into hating Fancy for what Fancy did to her, and she finally managed to convince Pretty to run to Luis to tell him the truth. As she left, Sheridan savored the prospect of reclaiming Luis.

Pretty and Father Lonigan discussed Sheridan's sudden change in character. Father Lonigan suggested she might have become possessed by evil. He appealed to Pretty's better senses and assured her that he knows she's a better person than to blame Fancy. He asked Pretty to forgive her sister and let Luis die in peace.

The warden instructed his staff to proceed with Luis' execution as his family and friends looked on in sad desperation. Theresa, Fancy and Sheridan cried at the windows in the observation room as they watched the lethal injection chemicals make their way into Luis' IV. Luis told Fancy he loved her, which caused Sheridan to make an outburst. Chad arrived to console Whitney. Eve managed to bust out of the supply closet and ran into the execution chamber yelling, "Stop the execution! Luis is innocent!" Eve grabbed a guard's taser and held everyone at bay and stopped the execution before it was too late. The warden ordered Sam to stop her. Sam pleaded with Eve to come to her senses, but Eve said she couldn't allow an innocent person to die. Sam warned Eve that she would suffer grave consequences, but Eve told Sam he'd have to trust her. Luis regained consciousness. The warden ordered the execution to resume and had his guards apprehend Eve. Sam intervened and said that if Eve has evidence that would exonerate Luis they need to wait and hear what she has to say first. Eve declared that Luis is innocent and had been telling the truth all along, and implicated Vincent in Rae's murder and the murder of the bartender. Simone, who just arrived, flipped out and started choking Vincent. Vincent broke from her choke hold and confessed to murdering Rae to seek vengeance. Sam ordered the prison guards to detain Vincent. Everyone quizzed Eve as to why she didn't come forward sooner. Eve explained she was delayed because of the guilt she felt over what happened to Vincent. Eve explained that Julian knew all along, as well. Pilar flipped out at Julian for being willing to stand back and let Luis die, and slapped him across the face. Sam had Vincent taken away to the police station. Sheridan then confessed that she tried to kill Theresa because Vincent blackmailed her to do it in order to save Luis. Sam prepared to arrest Sheridan, but Theresa insisted she wouldn't press charges. Sam said he'd leave it up to the D.A. He then turned to Eve and Julian and said they were responsible for withholding evidence. Eve offered to accept any punishment due her, while Julian told Sam to speak to his attorney. A happy Luis thanked everyone for standing by him, "especially" Fancy, and kissed her in front of everyone. Sheridan ran out in disgust and bumped into Pretty. Sheridan encouraged Pretty to help her bust up Luis and Fancy so she can get Luis back.

Father Lonigan went to church and prayed to thank God for sparing Luis and revealing Vincent as the culprit, and prayed for restoration of peace. Just then the statue spoke to him. The angel advised that his prayers would not be answered, and that there would neither be peace nor happiness in Harmony. "Beware, Father, beware!" the statue cautioned.

At the prison, everyone mourned Luis' death. At Tabitha's house, Norma and Edna encouraged Tabitha to use her powers to bring him back. Tabitha said her powers were spent for the moment. Endora "said" she could do it. Norma and Edna encouraged Endora to give it a try....Tabitha checked in her magic bowl, and declared that Endora was successful in turning back the hands of time — Luis was alive! Norma and Edna rejoiced while Spike tried to warn them about the bomb ready to go off upstairs. When the coast was clear Spike managed to escape from his cage but was caught by Edna, who tackled him onto the floor. Norma helped her chase after Spike, who was frantically trying to flee before the bomb went off. While looking for Fluffy upstairs, Tabitha discovered the bomb under the bed. When she called for help Norma and Edna freaked out. Norma, Edna, Spike and Tabitha played a game of hot potato with the bomb as its timer ticked toward zero until Endora neutralized it and they all rejoiced.

At the prison, Luis' family once again braced themselves for his execution. Fancy said a tearful goodbye to him. Pretty was astonished to see Luis alive on the prison monitor. Father Lonigan couldn't believe Pretty's announcement. Similarly, Theresa, Ethan and Gwen were shocked to walk in and find that Luis is still (or once again) alive. Ethan insisted he witnessed Luis being executed and pronounced dead. Ethan asked Sam what was going on. Sam tried to tell Ethan he was imagining things and had a case of déjà vu. Sam insisted that Luis was just led into the execution chamber. Theresa gave Luis the goodbye she wasn't able to give him the first time. Sheridan walked in and was shocked to find both Theresa and Luis alive. Theresa called Sheridan a bitch and accused her of trying to murder her. Everyone present was startled by Theresa's allegations against Sheridan. Julian remarked that she had always been "the good Crane." Theresa asked Sam to arrest Sheridan. Sam confronted Sheridan about Theresa's accusations. Sheridan stalled and didn't answer. Her mumbling was interrupted by the warden, who said in light of Eve's absence he'd call a back-up physician to sign the death certificate. Sheridan confronted Vincent and threaten to expose him if he didn't stop Luis' execution. Vincent insisted he couldn't do anything and warned Sheridan she'll be the next one facing execution for trying to electrocute Theresa.

At the prison, Pretty woke up in Luis' empty cell. Father Lonigan happened upon her and told her how Pilar knocked her out to prevent her spoiling Luis' final moments. Pretty expressed her rage and resentment towards Fancy and declared that Fancy deserves to be outed for the type of person she really is. Pretty was upset to see on the closed-circuit monitor that Luis was already dead. She lamented that she didn't get the chance to tell Luis before it was too late. Pretty vented to Father Lonigan, who drew a parallel to his own experience and urged Pretty not to let the accident that left her scarred rule or control her life. Father Lonigan said he rejected the path of bitterness and anger when he was blinded, and suggested that she do the same.

In the observer's gallery Fancy broke down and cried as Luis flatlined in the execution chamber. Everyone followed suit, as Pilar railed against God for not answering her prayers, and declared she had lost her faith. Privately, Pilar told God she felt like dying herself. "Take me and not my son," Pilar commanded. Sheridan expressed anger at Vincent for not living up to his end of the bargain, but he insisted she didn't live up to her end fast enough. He taunted Sheridan for killing Theresa for no reason. Ethan wondered why Theresa would miss Luis' execution and went looking for her. He found an unconscious Gwen on the floor and an unconscious Theresa in the electric chair, and ran to Theresa's aid first. As Ethan tried to revive Theresa, Gwen came to and said she couldn't remember what happened. Ethan panicked and tried to figure out what happened and became angry when Gwen couldn't recall anything. "Is she dead?" Gwen asked timidly, as Ethan was able to revive Theresa. Theresa shocked Ethan and Gwen when she implicated Sheridan as the one who tried to kill her. Ethan suggested Theresa was confused, but Theresa insisted she was clear in her memory. Ethan was dumbfounded as Theresa recounted the details. Gwen recalled only seeing Theresa in the chair and getting zapped herself when she touched Theresa's shoulder. Ethan assessed the situation, and surmised that Gwen's body knocked the power switch off as she was knocked backwards. Gwen was in shock to learn that she unknowingly saved Theresa's life. "It can't be true," Gwen shook her head in disbelief. Ethan broke the news to Theresa that she's too late — Luis is gone. The warden checked on Luis, and paged Eve to come and officially pronounce him dead. The warden grew frustrated as Eve failed to show, and ordered Luis' body covered until she showed up.

Norma, Edna, Tabitha and Endora had dinner together. Tabitha sent Endora to brush her teeth when Norma started to obsess over her "daddy." Spike angered them when he tried to warn them about the bomb about to explode. Tabitha threatened to turn Fluffy on him if he didn't shut up. Edna wondered if maybe Spike was telling the truth, so Tabitha gave him one minute to speak. Spike pleaded with them to believe him about the bomb planted upstairs. Meanwhile, upstairs Endora discovered the bomb under the bed. She cast a spell to reverse the timer on the bomb. Tabitha, Norma, Edna and Endora saw a special report on TV confirming Luis' execution. The women lamented Luis' death. Norma and Edna encouraged Tabitha to use her powers to bring him back. Tabitha said her powers were spent for the moment. Endora "said" she could do it. Norma and Edna encouraged Endora to give it a try. In a few moments, Tabitha checked in her magic bowl and declared that Endora was successful in turning back the hands of time — Luis was alive!

At Tabitha's, Tabitha, Norma, Edna and Endora engaged in an infomercial for PASSIONS' jump to DirecTV. Spike ran for his life from Fluffy, and tried to warn Tabitha, et al about the bomb that's set to go off, but none of them believed Spike. Spike pleaded for mercy. Tabitha finally relented and called Fluffy off of him. Spike reiterated his warning that there is a bomb in Tabitha's house about to explode. Not believing him, Tabitha cast a spell on Spike that rendered him mute. She then had Endora put Spike in a cage. Spike furiously tried to warn them about the bomb, but to no avail, as the timer ticked down below the four-minute mark.

At the prison, everyone lamented Luis' impending execution. Julian asked Vincent about Eve's whereabouts. Vincent lied as he flashed back to locking Eve in a supply closet so she can't tell the truth and save Luis before it's too late. Eve kept banging on the door asking some to let her out. Julian finally heard her but the door was locked on both sides. Pretty vowed to Fancy to tell the truth and yelled for the guards to stop marching Luis to the execution chamber, but an incensed Pilar punched out Pretty to prevent her from spilling the beans. Pilar and Fancy carried Pretty into Luis' cell. As Luis got strapped into his chair in the execution chamber his friends and family gathered in the observer's gallery. Father Lonigan arrived to give Luis a final prayer. A tearful Luis gave everyone his final wishes. He instructed Fancy to lead a full and happy life in his memory. The warden ordered Luis' execution to begin.

Rebecca and Gwen scrambled to find Ethan before the death row inmate could tell him about his MIA son. The inmate bargained with Ethan: he'll tell everything he knows if Ethan will represent him and work an appeal to get him released from death row. Ethan refused, insisting he doesn't give in to blackmail. Just as the inmate was about tell Ethan who his son is, Rebecca ran onto the scene and interrupted them. Rebecca's flirtations got the inmate to recant to Ethan. A disgusted Ethan left to go console Theresa and her family. In the electrocution chamber, Sheridan told Theresa she has no choice if she's going to get Luis back and flipped the switch to electrocute Theresa as Theresa screamed in pain. When Theresa realized she hadn't set up the electrodes properly she stopped the procedure to fix things. "By dying, you're actually saving your brother's life," Sheridan rationalized. Theresa begged for her life, but her pleas fell on deaf ears and Sheridan remained committed to her plan, and prepared to kill Theresa a second time. Just as Luis and Theresa's executions began the prison suffered a brownout. The warden ordered Luis' execution to be stopped, while Sheridan realized that Theresa was still alive, as well. Sheridan discovered she caused the brownout because she didn't bypass the prison's electrical system. She flipped the bypass switch then attempted to electrocute Theresa for a third time. After watching the volts of electricity flow through Theresa, Sheridan ran out. Gwen discovered Theresa still getting fried, and thinking it was a practical joke, touched Theresa's shoulder and was shocked by the current herself. Gwen was able to pull herself off of Theresa, and as she fell backwards onto the floor she knocked the power switch off. Both women laid there apparently unconscious. Meanwhile the warden ordered Luis' execution to go forward, but allowed everyone to say another round of goodbyes first. Julian finally broke the door open and he and Eve reunited with a passionate kiss. However, Eve realized she was hallucinating and was still trapped alone in the utility closet. Everyone watched in sadness as the chemicals began to make Luis go unconscious. Sheridan found Vincent and ordered him to stop the execution because Theresa was dead. An unsympathetic Vincent told Sheridan it was too late. Luis appeared to flatline while Fancy, Paloma and everyone else dissolved into tears.
