Y&R Recaps Week of Oct. 24, 2005

At the GCAC, a disguised Sheila — angry that the wedding had been postponed — smashed the wedding cake (perhaps she'd just watched that video by No Doubt, "Simple Kind Of Life" where Gwen Stefani bludgeons a bunch of wedding cakes). Soon, Scott arrived and wondered who could've done such a thing, but "Jennifer" lied that she hadn't seen anyone and hurried out of there. Scott was devastated when Michael called him to inform him that the wedding wasn't going to happen that day. Scott then went to see "Brenda" (boy, can Sheila change quickly), and asked if she wanted to work on their novel. She went to get changed (again) and he looked over her work. Scott then knocked over her purse and found a photo of Sheila from her days as a nurse in it. Suddenly, a voice from behind him asked, "What are you doing in my things?"
Victoria was hard at work in her office, when Victor stopped by. "Whoever you are, state your business or go away," she snapped, before realizing it was Dad. Victoria invited him in and informed him that she'd chosen Sharon to be the spokesperson for Seasons. She then admitted that she wished she'd had some more warning that Nick was going to be working with her. Victor insisted that she and Nick would have an equal place in the company. After, Brad assured Vic that he intends to act professionally. Victor then left, and Brad berated Victoria for dumping him just because her parents wanted her to. "That's not the Victoria Newman I knew," he sniffed. Victoria explained that she has a professional reputation to uphold. Brad suggested that they be friends and colleagues, and they shook on it.
Nick told Sharon that Victoria had made the final decision as to who the spokesperson was; Sharon believed that Brad had influenced her. Nick reminded her that he'd supported her, as well. Sharon couldn't understand why Nick didn't share her enthusiasm over her new position. He said that he is happy for her, but that since he's going to be CEO, he doesn't want Sharon thrown into any drama. He admitted that he's not sure he and Victoria will be able to work together. Sharon replied that all she wants to do is make everyone proud. "You do make me proud," Nick said. Awww...
Dru witnessed Yolanda turning down her former drug dealer at the park. Yolanda insisted that she's through with drugs, but Dru reminded her that she has a long road ahead of her. Yolanda was upset when she learned that Devon had run out on the Winterses. Meanwhile, Neil tried to talk some sense into Devon, but the teen still insisted on helping his mom. Later, Dru returned home, and Neil asked, "How do you convince a kid who thinks he knows everything that he doesn't." Dru called Devon in and announced that she'd like to have Yolanda stay with them.
J.T. told Nikki that Bobby was killed. Nikki refused to believe this, insisting that Bobby was just pretending so he could hide, but J.T. assured her that it was true. He gave her the number of the fed who'd called them so she could check it out for herself. Nikki did, and was devastated to get the news. "He wanted to leave that life behind and now he's dead," she sobbed. "How is that justice?" Victor came home and found Nikki sobbing. J.T. looked on as he comforted her.
Tom was all charm and smiles as he asked Ashley on a date. She turned him down, explaining how she felt strange going out when the wedding had just been postponed. Later, Ashley told Michael that Tom had asked her out, and that he suspects that Michael had help in framing him. She feared that their plan to bring down Tom could backfire on them. Meanwhile, Tom muttered to himself about how Mike is going to pay.

At the hospital, Lauren was touched to learn that Michael had slept in a chair by her bed all night. She stated that she feels "wonderful." Lauren wanted to get married that day, but Michael wanted to delay the wedding. He questioned her about her "hallucination" involving Tom; she shared that Tom had taken her necklace ... and then realized that it really was missing. Soon, Gloria called and demanded that Lauren come to the GCAC ASAP so they could take care of a few wedding-related things. Glo then yelled at the staff to get things done more quickly, while Scott and Kevin tried to keep her calm.... Later, the doctor told Michael that he thinks Lauren should stay at the hospital. Lauren got dressed and prepared to go home, but Michael insisted on postponing the wedding until she's well. "Don't take this away from me!" a devastated Lauren cried, but Mike stood firm.
Sheila planned to send an "intimate gift" to Lauren for her wedding, and put together an elaborately wrapped package. Tom then stopped by and invited her to dine with him, but she explained that she can't because she's going to the wedding. He was surprised when she revealed that Gloria had been the one to invite her. Sheila promised that Michael would be "heartbroken" that day, but Tom replied that he wouldn't rest until he exposed Mike for framing him in the drug bust. Later, Sheila put on the "Jennifer" getup, only this time, she included a handgun with her ensemble. She then stroked the package lovingly as she anticipated ruining Lauren's wedding day.
Kevin informed Gloria that Tom's out of jail. She wondered who would've bailed him out, and was upset to learn that Michael knew Tom had been released. Ashley then arrived with a box of programs. Glo asked if she could pay her later. Later, "Jennifer" arrived at the GCAC and offered to help set up. Michael soon called Gloria and told her that they're postponing the wedding. A horrified Glo filled in Jen, and went to be alone. Jen/Sheila then began angrily smashing the wedding cake with her fist (and the inside was chocolate, too. What a waste).
Devon informed Dru and Neil that he's leaving so he can live his mother. "What are you gonna do, lock me in my room?" Devon spat. Neil reminded him that he's only 17 so they call the shots. The Winterses tried to reason with him, but Devon still wouldn't listen. An upset Dru went out for some air.... Meanwhile, Yolanda left the rehab clinic. She went right to the park where she reunited with her old drug dealer — and turned him down.
Sharon wondered if Nicholas was really serious about returning to Newman. Nick explained that he felt a sense of purpose working; Sharon supported his decision, but wondered how the schedule change would affect Noah. Nick noted that if Sharon doesn't get the spokesperson job, she'd have a lot of time to stay home. She took this to mean that he didn't think she'd get it, but he explained that he meant that it wasn't up to him if she got it or not. Sharon got angry, stating that she wasn't rearranging her priorities just because Nick made a change in his plans. Nick apologized, and promised they'd work things out.
Brad stopped by Victoria's office so they could discuss her having dumped him earlier. She told him that she'd still like him to work for her, especially with Nick coming back. They then discussed the spokesperson job, and tried to decide who was better: Sharon or one other candidate. Later, Brad went to see Sharon to tell her in person that she got the job. "For me, it was no contest," he stated. "I got the job!" Sharon squealed, pulling Brad into an embrace. Nick came upon the scene and stood uncomfortably, not sharing their enthusiasm.

At Crimson Lights, Kevin and Michael were shocked to see that Tom had been released from jail. Tom made threats against Gloria and Lauren; Mike got right up in his face and threatened to kill Tom if Tom hurt either of them. Kevin separated them, and kicked his father out of the establishment.
In the hospital, an hysterical Lauren insisted that she saw Tom in her room. Nursie McPatronizing disagreed: "Oh, you were just hallucinating again, dear." Later, after receiving a call from the hospital, Michael came to see Lauren. He was surprised when she told him that Tom had paid her a visit, but she was now convinced that she'd hallucinated it. Michael stayed with his fiancée as she drifted off to sleep, his eyes filling with tears at seeing her like that.
Sheila tried to keep her calm as she pondered what to do about getting Lauren's poisoned necklace from Tom. Soon, Scott arrived and shared that he wants his mom to postpone her wedding. Brenda (really Sheila) disagreed, arguing that his mother would only be more stressed if she had to change the wedding date. After, Tom paid Sheila a visit, again threatening to blab about the necklace unless she helps him get to Michael. However, this time Sheila seemed unfazed. Tom wanted to know what was up, but she refused to confide in him, given that he'd tried to blackmail her. Later, Sheila dreamed of giving Lauren a "special" wedding gift.
Mac returned home with J.T. and wondered what she could do for Brittany. J.T. agreed that Brit would need both of them. Brit soon joined them, and Mac pulled her into an embrace. After, Brit told J.T. that she hadn't gone to dinner with Jill because she doesn't feel like being out in public. Mac suggested she rent a comedy, but Brittany turned down that suggestion, too. J.T. advised her to take care of herself for Josh's sake. Brit noted how he's been like a father figure for Josh.
Mac and Kevin met up at Crimson Lights and relayed their "messed up" days to each other. Kev was shocked to hear that Bobby was killed. She admitted that she was feeling jealous when J.T. had been comforting Brittany.
Nick reunited with his mom, and she shared the details of her Greek cruise. Victor joined them and talked some business with his son. Nikki sneezed, and as she went into her purse for a tissue, grabbed her bottle of pills.
Nikki discussed her concerns about Brad and Victoria with Victor. Vic shared that Brad wouldn't have as much influence at Newman because Nick is returning. Nikki worried about how Victoria would react to Nick coming back. Nikki stated that having Victoria and Nick be joint CEOs is Victor's dream, but might not be theirs.... Brad stopped by Victoria's office, hoping to mix some pleasure with his business, but Victoria returned the earrings he gave her, explaining that she wants to keep things on a "professional level." Brad didn't buy it, but she wasn't so sure she could really trust him. "I'm going to clarify my position," he stated. "I respect you, I enjoy working with you ... you're a beautiful, exciting woman and I'm attracted to you. For you to suggest out of the blue that I'm using you, Victoria, I'm insulted." Later, Nick came to see her and told her that he's returning. Victoria feared that he wants to take over as CEO, but he explained that he wants them to be a team. She was upset to hear that Victor approved of this arrangement.
Dru informed Neil about Devon taking a full-time job at the coffee house and then running off when she'd tried to stop him. Meanwhile, Yolanda urged her son to focus on school. Later, Dru went to see Yolanda, who agreed that Devon needs to stay in school. Dru wanted Yolanda to do something about it, but Yolanda refused. "This is your problem now, not mine," she stated, noting that she has to focus on her recovery. Dru gave Yolanda some cash so Devon wouldn't feel compelled to work.
Neil ran into Brad at Crimson Lights and gleefully told him that Nck's returning to Newman. "Nothing's constant but change," Neil gloated.

Neil and Dru were shocked to see Devon working at Crimson Lights. Devon explained that he'd gotten a part-time job so he could get some money to help his mom. Neil didn't want to make a "big issue" about it, but Dru wanted Devon to concentrate on school. Soon, Nick came over to say hello and offered to give Neil a ride to the office.... Kevin didn't want to let Devon work full-time if it wasn't okay with the Winterses; Dru overheard their conversation and pulled Devon away. Dru said that Yolanda doesn't want him to sacrifice his life for her, but an angry Devon wouldn't listened and walked off.
At the hospital, Tom carefully tried to take the necklace off Lauren's neck. She then opened her eyes and screamed when she saw him. Soon, Michael arrived and pushed Tom away; Tom then punched Michael hard in the gut and shoved him to the floor. After Tom stormed out, Lauren looked over the side of her bed and was horrified to see Michael's lifeless body. The nurse came running when she heard Lauren's screams, but didn't see anything; neither did a confused Lauren. Lauren shrieked for Michael, but the very patronizing nurse kept sweetly suggesting that Lauren go to sleep. Talk about a good bedside manner gone wrong.
Jennifer (really Sheila) asked Gloria if she could attend Michael and Lauren's wedding (What would Emily Post have to say about this?). Glo wasn't thrilled with the idea, but Jen insinuated that she'd get back at Gloria if she wasn't included in the festivities. Jen denied threatening her, and claimed that it's always been a dream of hers to attend a fairy tale wedding. Glo relented and invited Jen ... but was a bit taken aback when her new "friend" gave her a huge hug.
Tom went to Sheila's room and reported that he got the necklace. She was thrilled, but he wouldn't give it to her unless she helped him take care of Michael. Tom told her that he figured out the necklace had been poisoned, and that if she doesn't help him, he'll blab. Later, Sheila yelled at herself for being taken by Tom. Someone, please get the woman a diary.
Michael reported to Kevin that the doctors discovered poison in Lauren's system. Kevin recalled a movie where people had been poisoned by an object, and suggested that maybe someone had purposely hurt Lauren. Later, they were horrified to get a visit from Tom.
In her office, Brad and Victoria danced and kissed and danced and kissed ... and were then interrupted by Ashley, who came by with the divorce papers. Brad threw Victoria an apologetic glance, then left to talk with his ex. A lonely Victoria toasted herself with some champagne, and was thrilled to be visited from Nikki, who'd returned from her cruise. Nikki was surprised when Victoria asked her for some "good, old-fashioned motherly advice." Victoria then filled her in on how she's seeing someone, but how it's a little complicated. "Sweetheart, please tell me you're not talking about Brad Carlton," Nikki sighed. Nikki stated that it was awkward since she'd almost married Brad at one point, but Victoria called that "ancient history" (And I'm sure Nikki was thrilled with being called "ancient."). Nikki added that she doesn't trust Brad. A snitty Victoria showed off the earrings he gave her, and couldn't understand why her mom was upset. Nikki advised her to end things or slow things down. "You're stepping into a very bizarre family situation," Nik said, citing the understatement of the year.
Meanwhile, Ashley was concerned that Brad wants partial custody of Abby, especially if Victoria's in the picture. Brad promised he wouldn't force Abby to be around someone she's uncomfortable with, but Ashley wanted said promise in writing. Brad countered that Ash wants Victor in Abby's life. Ash reminded him that Vic is Abby's biological father. "Besides, we're not involved," she finished. "It's not for lack of trying," snarked Brad. Ashley then accused him of using Victoria, but he made it clear that his feelings for Viki are genuine.
Neil was excited to hear that Nick is returning to Newman, and diplomatically stated that Victoria has a "different style." Nick insisted that he and Victoria would be running things together, and asked for the dirt on Brad. Both men were concerned with what a "take-charge" kind of guy Brad is. Nick asked Neil to prepare a report on the launch for the new line, and Neil readily agreed.
A devastated Brittany cuddled with J.T. in the Chancellor estate. Jill suggested that they go out to eat. Mac then called J.T., and he made plans to see her. Jill offered to take Brit out instead, but Brittany wanted to wait for J.T. to come home. Jill told her that she understands what it's like to lose someone you love, and praised Brit for being a fighter. She promised Brittany that she'd survive. At Crimson Lights, Mac called J.T. into her office and blasted him for being so cuddly with Brittany. Mac scoffed when J.T. explained that he'd been comforting Brit, but felt ashamed when he revealed that Bobby's dead.

At the hospital, Lauren revealed to Gloria that there was a "toxic agent" in her body, and was baffled as to how it got there. Glo tried to cheer Lauren up by discussing the upcoming wedding. Michael then entered Lauren's room and told her that he was getting everything of hers tested to see what contained the poison. Gloria reasoned that if something in Lauren's place had been toxic, Michael should be sick, too; Mike explained that Lauren could've had an allergic reaction. Michael snuggled in bed with his fiancée and suggested that they postpone the wedding. Gloria and Lauren disagreed — especially Glo who noted that a lot of money had been spent and some of the guests from out of town were starting to arrive.
In her hotel room, Sheila chatted with her leather-clad mirror reflection (Note: the real Sheila was dressed in a completely different outfit — a brown sweater.). Leather Sheila scolded Sweater Sheila for being careless about leaving the poisoned necklace around. Sweater Sheila promised to get the necklace back, but Leather Sheila wasn't so sure she could trust her. "You'd better act fast because soon Lauren and Michael are going to be one happy family and you're going to lose everything," Leather Sheila warned. Soon, the Sheilas were interrupted by the arrival of Tom. Sheila (Sweater Sheila, that is) promised Tom "access" to Michael if he helped her with her problem. Later, "Jennifer" paid Gloria a visit. Glo tried to get rid of her, but Jen reminded her how she'd saved her life; she requested that Gloria get her an invite to Lauren and Michael's wedding. Meantime, Tom waited outside of Lauren's hospital room. After Michael left, Tom snuck in so he could snatch the necklace from a sleeping Lauren. As he carefully took it off her neck, her eyes opened and she gasped as she saw Tom looming over her.
Victoria put on the diamond earrings Brad gave her and admired herself. Brad told her she was "dazzling," but Vicki wasn't satisfied. "If I pulled stars from heaven and placed them in your eyes, they couldn't shine any brighter," Brad continued. Anyone want to get this recapper a dentist to fill the cavity that's slowly forming? Victoria was a bit taken aback that he'd given her something so personal; she was also surprised that Brad decided to begin divorce proceedings. "The only reason I didn't begin them earlier is because I didn't really have a reason to," he explained. Victoria admitted that she's not entirely sure where their personal lives are leading. "Are you my boyfriend?" Victoria asked. Brad showed her that yes, he "like-likes" her by presenting her with a lavish, ordered dinner. The two shared a romantic slow dance, and Brad told her that he has no problem with her being his boss at work.
Nick told Victor that he's ready to return to work. Nick then gave his dad an unfavorable review of Brad's performance, but Victor said Nick couldn't go against Victoria's decision just because he'd decided to come back to Newman. Nick explained that he wants to work with his sister. "Nothing would make me happier than to see you and your sister, side by side, running this company," Vic stated. "Welcome back." Nick hoped Victoria would be as happy to have him there, but didn't think Brad would be pleased. Later, Victor spied his daughter dancing with Brad.
Phyllis assured Jack that she's happy at Jabot. Jack replied that Newman didn't realize how good they had it when she'd been on staff with them. Jack continued to plot revenge against Brad, but Phyllis wished he'd drop it. "What's going on — you getting soft on me?" Jack wondered. "I just want to do my job at Jabot," Phyll explained. "I'm delighted I hired you," replied Jack, kissing her.
Neil and Dru feared that Devon went to see Yolanda again and missed school again. Turns out Devon wasn't missing school for Yolanda, but had gotten a job at Crimson Lights. Later, Phyllis went to get a cup of coffee and was surprised to see Devon serving her. Soon, Nick ran into Phyl at the coffee shop and revealed to her that he's returning to work. Phyllis was pleased and wondered if it had anything to do with their conversation from the previous night, where she'd suggested he find a purpose for his life. Nick explained that many factors went into his decision. Dru and Neil then arrived at Crimson Lights and were horrified to see Devon working in the middle of a school day.
Mac filled in Kevin how upset she was to walk into her home and see Brittany in J.T.'s arms. Kevin thought there could be an explanation for it (Wanna bet?), but Mac was skeptical. Meanwhile, Brit tried to comes to grips with the fact that her husband's dead. J.T. wanted to take her for a drive so she could get some fresh air, but Brit refused to leave her baby, even with Jill. Brit sadly looked at pictures of herself and Bobby. "This feels like a dream," Brittany cried. J.T. tried to get her to eat something (he even made her favorite dish), but Brit wasn't hungry. J.T. reminded her that she got to say good-bye to Bobby, but Brittany lamented the fact that she hadn't kissed her husband. Brit then sobbed on J.T.'s shoulder as he awkwardly comforted her.
