Y&R Recaps Week of Nov. 14, 2005

Friday, November 18, 2005
The Necklace was in the spotlight today. Michael leaned on Tom to give him information about it, while Sheila (dressed as Jennifer and wearing spiffy black gloves) sleuthed around Tom's hotel room looking for it. She followed the trail of dead roaches (ewwww) under the bed, where she fished the necklace out, took it home with her and scrubbed it clean of poison. Meanwhile, Tom refused to say a word unless Michael helped vacate the dug charges against him. They compromised: Tom agreed to give up the name of the person who poisoned it, and Paul agreed to help the "evidence" against Tom disappear, so he'll be cleared of charges.

Lauren filled Scott in on the first time someone attempted to kill her. She said there was a woman obsessed with Scott's dad who was "evil," but now she's locked up. (No mention of how Scott was kidnapped as a baby.) Lauren took a call from Memorial Hospital, saying they found her necklace.

Sharon continued the live Newman Web cast, where phone calls about makeup turned into condolence calls about Cassie. Sharon got emotional, and Brad stepped in to finish things up. Afterwards she beat herself up for not being stronger, and Brad gave her an ego boost — a passionate kiss.

Nicholas met Phyllis at the club. Phyllis confessed to installing a back door access code on the Newman site, which allows her to access their system from anywhere. Now she wants to uninstall it. Nick berated himself for trusting Phyllis in the first place. Phyllis reminded Nick that at least she's willing to fix it now, much like he did for Daniel at the last second during the trial. Nick was annoyed but agreed to let her undo her work.

Jack made Kevin a proposition: Find out what Phyllis did to the Newman site and report it to Jack, not to Victor. In return, Jack will smooth things over with the Abbotts for Kevin (nice idea, but good luck with changing John's mind where Kev is concerned. Does the name Colleen ring a bell?). Kevin refused at first, but Jack wouldn't take no for an answer.

What did Sheila use to scrub the necklace clean?

Tom held the necklace over Jennifer's head (not literally). Sheila called him an idiot when he rehashed the whole convoluted mess with Michael, then she insisted she's his friend (huh?).

Kevin updated Paul on his progress with the Newman Web site. Phyllis sneaked up on Kev just as he was talking about her. She proceeded to call him a bozo. Enter Jack. "Hey, tiger," Phyllis purred. Jack asked Phyllis if she left a bug on the Newman server. She insisted she didn't plan a bomb in the system.

Sharon and Nikki went at it over Abby. Brad interrupted and broke it up. Nikki then went to see Victoria and made a catty remark about Sharon, just like the good ol' days.

Scott revealed to Michael and Lauren that he dropped the necklace in Brenda's hotel room, so they realized Brenda, Jennifer and Tom all had access to the pendant. Michael stormed out to look for Tom at the hotel — Room 310 (Jen/Brenda is 311). Later, Michael spotted TT at the GCAC bar, while Sheila broke into his room to find the necklace.

Dru knocked Sharon's script for the Web cast. Sharon asked Victoria where Nicholas was. She didn't know, but wished her sister-in-law good luck.

EOE (end of episode), Lauren began to tell Scott about her past, as Michael confronted Tom at the GCAC —again.

Victor startled Kevin after he fell asleep while working on the Newman computers. Abby, who was spending the day at the office with her father, interrupted, reporting to Victor that she lost a tooth. Brad and Victor then got into it, especially when Victor said he will be a part of his daughter's life.

Nikki (she's back!) stopped by Newman to see Victoria and ask about the launch. Victoria shared that Abby is becoming an issue between her and Brad.

Nick tried to calm Sharon's nerves about the Webcast. He also suggested that if she really wants to help Abby, she should stay away from her. Sharon let him have it, accusing him of not wanting her to have a life outside of the house. Later, Victor told Nick that the way to get Sharon's mind off Abby would be to have another kid.

Glo (by Jabot?) got another visit from Terrible Tom. "I never felt this way about a woman before," TT drooled re: Ashley.

Paul told Ashley he's beginning to worry about her, and they held hands. Ash came clean and told Paul about her involvement in setting up Tom.

Michael and Lauren shared with Scott their suspicions about Brenda and Jennifer, but now they think she's two different people. Scott was shocked at the thought that the necklace could have been poisoned.

Speaking of poison, Nikki accused Sharon of poisoning Abby's mind against Victoria.

Gloria demanded to speak with Lauren, shooing Paul away. Gloria blabbed to Michael that Lauren was at Jennifer's hotel room, but Lauren said it was Brenda Harrison's room. Michael shared his theory that Tom and Jennifer have been working together for months. Lauren tried to track down Scott, as she and Michael wondered if Jen and Brenda are the same person.

Brad interrupted Jack's dinner with Jill, Katherine and Phyllis to congratulate Phyllis for fixing the Newman Web site. Katherine wasn't amused. "Jack, small bites — you don't want to choke," quipped Brad, walking away. Katherine reprimanded Phyllis for helping the competition. Katherine flipped out on Jill and Jack, too, for not keeping her informed about Chancellor business. Katherine reminded Jack that his contract has a morality clause. In private, Phyllis confided in Jill that she booby-trapped the Newman Web site.

Paul asked out Ashley again. Then he faced off with Tom at the GCAC, asking him if he knows a woman named Jennifer Mitchell. TT called him a lousy private eye. "Don't worry about Ashley, I'll keep her company while you're away," Paul rubbed in, referring to TT spending time the slammer. TT then went to visit Ashley.

Victoria whined to Brad that Abby doesn't like her. Later, she and J.T. grew closer at the office as she worked late. There was more chemistry in Ashley's lab.

Victor called in J.T. and Kevin to investigate the Newman Web site debacle. Nick asked for an explanation, then brought up Victor's inability to stay away from the family business. "You think she (meaning Phyllis) took advantage of me?" Nick asked. Then he defended Phyllis. Elsewhere, J.T. and Kevin teamed up and went to work on the computers (um, didn't Kev try to kill J.T.'s ex-girlfriend Colleen?) Victor asked Kevin how he got to be such a computer whiz. Later, when Victor saw Nick working late, he reminded his boy that family comes first.

Abby went missing following her birthday party, but turned up in the Crimson Lights office and found Sharon, who was remembering Cassie. Abby shared that her parents were fighting. Victoria stormed in and asked Sharon what she was doing, then Ashley and Brad came in. Ashley apologized to Brad for going off on him. Ashley thanked Sharon for being there for Abby. Sharon confirmed that Abby heard her parents fighting. Sharon also insinuated that Victoria is nice to Abby because she wants to impress Brad.

Michael told Paul that Jennifer Mitchell was pointing fingers at Tom. Mikey shared his theory that Tom poisoned the necklace. Then they shared the theory with Lauren.

Katherine called a lunch meeting with Jill, Jack and Phyllis.

Sheila, dressed as Jennifer, caught Lauren rifling through her things at her hotel room. (Lauren was lookng for "Brenda," and was reading Scott's manuscript when "Jennifer" barged in.) LAUREN DIDN'T RECOGNIZE HER! When Lauren left, Gloria stopped by. Glo asked Jen what part she played in Tom's plot to harm Lauren. Enter Tom. UH-OH. Gloria threatened Tom, because a day doesn't go by that someone doesn't threaten this guy. When Glo left, Tom threatened Sheila, and then she threatened him right back.
