Y&R Recaps Week of October 9, 2006

Carmen asked Victoria how Newman Enterprises was going to handle Dru's recent violation of the protective order. "There's only one acceptable solution at this point," Carmen noted. "I want you to fire her." When Victoria pointed out that firing Dru would hurt the company, Carmen threatened to call her attorney if Mrs. Winters wasn't terminated.
Michael comforted Lauren as more efforts were implemented to halt her contractions. To be safe, the doctor also administered a drug to speed along the development of the baby's lungs. The contractions started coming faster so the doctor announced it was time to deliver her baby. Lauren gave birth to a boy but the infant wasn't breathing and was whisked to the natal intensive care unit. Lauren had to stay behind so Michael followed to check on the situation. He returned to report that their son was putting up a good fight. "When I reached my hand into the incubator, he grabbed my finger," the new daddy smiled. Lauren lost a lot of blood and needed a transfusion.
Kevin, Gloria, Paul and Phyllis slept all night in the hospital waiting room. Paul continued to be suspicious that something Michael did caused Lauren a lot of stress.
Even though she didn't get much sleep, Dru dressed to the nines for the office but had second thoughts about going. "I don't know if I can face everybody at work," she lamented but Neil encouraged his wife to be strong. Neil went to the office and tried to make amends with Carmen. She announced that she gave the district attorney the videotape of Dru attacking her. "This has gone way too far, Carmen," Neil groaned but she was unmoved. "I thought you were a decent man," Carmen huffed. "You and Dru deserve each other."
At Victoria's behest, Dru stopped by for a meeting. Victoria explained that not protecting Carmen in the work place would open Newman Enterprises to huge liability. "I'm sorry," said Vic "We have to let you go." Dru was relieved that, for now, it would be an unpaid leave of absence. Victoria ordered Dru to clear out her office within an hour. Dru packed her belongings and said good-bye to Neil. After she was gone, Neil encountered Carmen, who was unsympathetic to Dru's plight. "You're not a very nice lady," Neil noted.
At Crimson Lights Colleen informed her professor that her term paper topic was going to be on the Grugeon Collection. Adrian surmised that, except for a few pieces recovered after World War II, most of the collection is owned by "very discreet, very private collectors." Victoria arrived to give Colleen a ride and was introduced to Adrian. Victoria expressed interest in acquiring some Medieval artifacts and Adrian offered his help and business card. Colleen and Victoria went out to find that the latter's car had been broken into.

At the hospital, Lauren and Michael discovered she was having contractions. Michael assured his wife that the doctor would stop them but Lauren still panicked. Michael felt guilty when the doc said stress could have brought on the contractions. A drug was administered and Lauren fell asleep. Michael came out to the waiting room and blamed Gloria for Lauren's health crisis. "What was I thinking, putting my life on the line for you!" he raged, then walked off, leaving Gloria in tears. Michael returned to Lauren's side just as the doctor announced that the contractions had subsided. But before the couple could revel in the news, another contraction struck. "Something's wrong!" Lauren cried in pain. The doctor declared that she was in labor.
Colleen brought Rebecca to Crimson Lights and introduced her to Jana and Adrian Korbel. J.T. arrived and offered to escort Rebecca home so Colleen could help Adrian catalogue photos from art collections. As they worked, professor and student got better acquainted. She then asked if there is a reliquary in the collections but he said no.
Dru didn't want Devon to know about her newest legal woes, then left with Neil for a last-minute appointment. Devon realized something was wrong and asked Lily what was going on. When he couldn't get any answers, Devon stormed out of the room. Lily felt bad but Devon came back and apologized for his behavior. "You need to understand that just because I'm deaf, doesn't make me stupid," he explained. Lily finally filled him in on their mother and they blamed Carmen for all the family's troubles. Meanwhile, Neil and Dru visited her therapist for an emergency session, where she took blame for her martial problems. Dr. Lynch praised his patient for finally taking responsibility. Mr. and Mrs. Winters returned home, where Lily announced that Devon knew everything. Devon vowed that there was no way his mom was going to jail and Dru hugged him.
Brad was upset when he learned that Victoria was looking for the reliquary. "Please call off the search," he urged. Victoria couldn't believe Brad would give up on finding out why so many people wanted to obtain this particular artifact. When Brad demanded that Victoria abandoned her quest, she yelled at him not to tell her what to do. She left and when Rebecca returned home, Brad informed his mom that Victoria was hunting down the reliquary. Rebecca told Brad that when she originally inspected the object, it was empty.
Victoria ran into J.T. and she complained how her husband was once again shutting her out. "I'm telling you, J.T., it's really getting old," Victoria lamented and admitted she's still bothered that she witnessed Brad kill two men.

Dru was shocked when she was arrested at Newman. Neil showed up and Carmen announced that a witness to her encounter with Dru had materialized. "How could you do this to my family?" Neil demanded and quickly called Michael for help. In court, Will requested that bail be revoked since Dru continues to ignore Carmen's protective order. Michael argued that his client be released. Neil testified how their son nearly died and that Dru needs to be home for him. The judge set Dru free until her trial for "misdemeanor battery and indirect criminal contempt."
Lauren angrily revealed that she heard Gloria's telephone conversation with Michael about, "hacking into company servers, spying on Jack and breaking the law." Lauren stormed out and Gloria called Michael to warn that Lauren is on the warpath. "She's not happy, Michael," Glo sighed.
Nikki came home from her business trip and Victor happily reported a seizure-free week. Sharon handed off Noah to his grandparents so they could go to the engagement party and Nick's birthday bash together.
Kevin was impressed how Jana transformed Crimson Lights into a roadhouse bar for Nick and Phyllis's engagement party. Lauren arrived and blasted Kevin for his part in the scheme against Jack. When Paul showed up, he immediately observed Lauren's dark mood but she would only allude that Michael did, "Something he shouldn't have." The rest of the guests streamed in and prepared to surprise Phyllis.
Nick and Phyllis showed up for their meeting with the judge (to ask that the mandatory six-month waiting period after his divorce be waived). Even though his attorney was out of town, Nick still wanted the hearing to proceed. Nick made his plea to the judge, who seemed unmoved. "The state's position is that jumping from marriage to marriage is neither healthy nor desirable," she explained to the couple and denied the motion. Depressed, Nick escorted Phyllis to Crimson Lights, where she was shocked by her surprise engagement party. Nick presented Phyllis with a ruby ring then introduced her to a surprise guest: Rocky, the cowboy from the bar in New Mexico. "You didn't think that I'd miss my best gal's engagement party, did ya?" whooped Rocky. Since everybody was also invited to the birthday shindig at the athletic club, Phyllis blabbed to Nick and suggested they combine both parties so they can stay put at Crimson Lights. Michael arrived but when Lauren lashed out at him, she doubled over in pain.

Paul called Michael and Lauren with the news the Sheila was living in Argentina under the assumed name of Lauren Scott. "She's still obsessed with my son and me," Lauren lamented and hoped Sheila would never find out about her pregnancy. "I'm going to make sure you and our child are safe," Michael assured his freaked-out wife. Gloria entered and announced her job at Jabot was safe for now. When Michael told her that his paternal grandmother, Florence Baldwin is dead, Glo advised him to redirect his focus. "You're going to be able to write your own ticket at Chancellor Industries," Gloria pointed out, then left to run errands. Michael liked Lauren's suggestion to start a hurricane-relief fund in his grandmother's name. Lauren then found the printouts of Jack's e-mails in Michael's briefcase and asked why he had them. He claimed they came from "a source" and left for the office. When Gloria returned, Lauren asked her mother-in-law if she gave the e-mails to Michael. Gloria lied that she was indeed the source, then called Michael to let him know that she took the blame. Lauren picked up the extension and overheard the confession.
Phyllis brought Noah to Newman Enterprises so he could continue with his video project for his dad's birthday present. Nick informed Phyllis that his lawyer filed the petition to waive the mandatory six-month waiting period so his divorce could be finalized. Nick later received word that the judge agreed to hear the petition that day.
Carmen apprised Phyllis of her confrontation with Drucilla. Phyll asked what the police were going to do about it, but Carmen said it was useless since there were no witnesses. "You have my sympathy," Phyllis sighed. Dru tried to apologize to Carmen, but she ordered Mrs. Winters to "stop stalking me!" Neil wasn't happy to hear about Dru's conciliatory attempt. "Steer clear of her," he warned his wife. Neil then tried to placate Carmen, but she was too angry to be appeased. "I'm scared enough," Carmen declared. "I walk around with mace in my purse."
Noah videotaped Sharon giving Nick a birthday message. "I hope that you spend the day with all the people who you love," she offered. Noah then brought his tape to Phyllis for editing on her computer. She then discovered that Noah had accidentally recorded Dru and Carmen's encounter. Phyllis showed the tape to Carmen. "The police said they wanted proof and I'd say this qualifies," clucked Carmen. Dru was stunned when the police showed up and arrested her.
