Nikki brought Reed a pre-christening present. "Miracles do happen," she told Victoria, who teared up. JT came home with a shopping bag. While Reed took a nap, Nikki headed home. "See you later," the proud grandmother said. Victoria worried that Victor might bring Sabrina to the christening. JT said he'd invited Adam to the festivities but Adam declined, saying he was too busy to make it. Victoria was relieved to hear that and wished Sabrina and Adam had never come to Genoa City.

David brought Nikki to the ranch for the christening. Nikki ran into Sabrina, and they noticed they were dressed similarly. Things were clearly icy between them. Victor announced that Sabrina would be coming to the christening. "No, they didn't inform me," Victoria said as she entered the tense living room. "You should have discussed this with Victoria," Nikki advised. Victor reminded them that this was his house "and I'll damn well invite whomever I want." Noah arrived and asked who Sabrina was. Sharon arrived. Nikki glared at Sabrina. "I'm not going to let her ruin our day," Victoria declared. Nicholas said he was asked to be godfather because he knew the Newman secret family pitch. Sabrina asked for a moment with Victoria. She apologized for making things awkward, but Victoria rejected her former friend's baby gift. "I bought it before," Sabrina offered. It was a silver rattle from one of Victoria's favorite stores. Victoria choked up and left to see her son. David commented to Nikki that Victor's "insensitivity is off the charts." Then David got yet another mysterious phone call. Paul showed up, much to JT's relief. "This place is crawling with Newmans," he quipped. David said the phone calls were from Jabot, and he was fielding them on Nikki's behalf. He boasted about Nikki's great work at the company. Nick said hello to his father and Sabrina. Victor thought Nick had been rude and went after him. The christening took place with Nick and Phyllis as godparents. They said a few words to the baby. Phyllis reported that she had done some research on godmothers. Nick reported that he had found all of Victoria's old notebooks. Nick said he always dreamed that he and Victoria would raise their children and was happy that that did work out. Nick said that Reed would be a Cubs fan, despite the fact that JT is a Sox aficionado. During the musical montage, Nikki saw Sabrina and Victor kiss.

Cane visited Neil, who knew that Lily had turned down Cane's wedding proposal. Lily came down and showed Neil the necklace Cane had given her. Lily and Cane went to have their first ultrasound. "Make sure they get a nice clear picture," Neil said as he waved them off. Neil left a message for Karen. "We need to figure out how to make it all work out," he said hopefully. Devon came down, but wasn't interested in breakfast. He caught his father looking at Lily's baby pictures. Apparently, Lily had wanted to take a lion cub home when they had taken little Lily to the zoo for the first time.

At the doctor's office, Lily admitted that she was a little nervous. Lily met Dr. Chang, and wondered when she would start showing. (Three or four months, said the doctor.) Lily and Cane kissed. They were clearly very excited. The parents-to-be said hello to the baby via sonogram. The technician left but Lily and Cane wondered why she hadn't answered their next question. Hmmm. The doctor came in with horrible news. "I'm very sorry, Lily; you are not pregnant. You have an embryonic pregnancy. The sac is empty," she said. The doctor tried to explain it was nature's way of weeding out what isn't viable. Cane tried to comfort an obviously upset Lily, who ran into Neil's arms when she went home.

Earlier, Adam dropped by Phyllis' office. She reported she was to be Reed's godmother. Phyllis was frustrated because she couldn't find her car keys. Adam immediately located them. He thought the cover story looked great. Apparently, Nick hadn't thought so and wanted a re-shoot. Sabrina walked in. Adam was stunned to learn she was going to be at the christening. He referred to her recent "sexapade" he had walked in on last night. Sabrina reminded Adam that at least she was with someone who was available and single. She snarked that Adam was interested in a married woman.
