Week of Monday, October 05, 2009

In the hospital chapel, Nick informed Phyllis that Sharon's baby died — and that it was his child. He then explained why he'd put off telling her, but insisted that he did actually want to share the truth with her. Phyllis was compassionate as Nick sadly revealed that he hadn't gotten to say good-bye to her baby, and took her husband in her arms.

Meanwhile, Jack told Victor that Traci has decided to take Colleen off of life support and is willing to give her daughter's heart to Newman. "It's yours," said Jack. "Colleen's heart is yours to go on living with." "I'm sorry for the pain, but I'm grateful for the chance," Victor struggled to choke out. Jack noted that Colleen had "a good heart," both literally and figuratively. "We should let you die; you're a bastard," Jack spat. "But one death is enough. For Colleen's sake, I hope you live." Jack then left his room and found Nikki and Victoria waiting anxiously in the hallway. "The answer is yes," he told the thrilled family. A joyous Nikki went to sit with Victor, right by a certain gift which had been left on his bed.

Abby sat with Colleen and broke down over everything that was going on in her family. Jack stayed with her and promised Abby that he wasn't going anywhere. Abby tearfully said good-bye to her sister. She asked Colleen to tell Brad that she loved him, then bolted from the room. Jack now shared a moment alone with his niece and lamented about his war with Victor. "I'm sorry, Colleen," he whispered. "I should've protected you better." Later, J.T. spent some time with her and said his farewells. He regretted not being there to save her. "I love you, Colleen," he told her. "I will always, always love you. I hope you know that." As he spoke, Victoria peered in from outside the room.

Billy prayed for Colleen and was still furious about Victor. Katherine entered the chapel and acknowledged that what was happening was painful, but it was real. She urged him to deal with it and be there for his family. "Say your good-byes or you're going to regret it for the rest of your life," she warned.

Sharon regarded a photo of her sonogram. Rafe visited her at the hospital and told her that she's free to go home once she's discharged.... Phyllis promised Nick that he's not alone. She wondered how Sharon was doing; Nick replied that Sharon is numb.... Sharon spoke to Cassie and believed that her little girls were now together. She asked Cassie to take care of the baby. Later, Nick told Nikki the bad news about his child.

Mac informed Lily of Traci's decision, noting that Colleen was trying to help Patty when she died, and was still in effect, helping people. Lily showed Mac the angel pin that Colleen had given her. Cane joined them and believed that Colleen came to Lily when Lily had had her dream about her friend. Later, Lily thanked God for letting Colleen come to her in her sleep.

Ashley ran into Nikki in the hospital hallway. Nikki told her that Traci is an amazing woman. Ashley then visited Victor and introduced him to "his" baby, Faith. Victor loved the name. Later, Ashley joined Traci and Steve as the shared their last moments with Colleen.

Sharon held up her sonogram pic along with a photo of Cassie. The scene then morphed into little Faith Newman resting in her hospital crib.... As the Y&R theme played, both Colleen and Victor were wheeled into surgery so the transplant could take place. All of their loved ones watched, not sure what to expect next.
