Y&R Recaps Week of January 9, 2006

Friday, January 13, 2006
Michael turned his apartment into an island paradise so he and Lauren could finally have their honeymoon.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon tracked Nick down at "Cassie's Corner," but he pushed her away when she tried to comfort him. Then he found out she was going to Denver and got all pouty. Sharon clarified that she was scheduled to go, but already told Victoria she wouldn't if Noah needed her. She blasted Nick for having no faith in her and walked out. Nikki and Victor were sad over it being Cassie's birthday tomorrow. Nikki wanted to have a get-together to celebrate her life, but Sharon wasn't sure and resented that Nikki was adding her two cents. Nick broke it up and agreed with Sharon that it was their call, not Nikki's. When Nikki left, Nick apologized for ever doubting her intentions. Then Nick called Phyllis and told her Daniel was with him. He didn't tell her that he stopped Daniel from spiking his Coke at the coffeehouse with alcohol.

Mac told J.T. she wanted HIM to decide if Scott and Kevin should move out of the loft. J.T. told the boys they could stay, and Mac cooed about how "sweet" her boyfriend is.

Sierra yelled at Devon for withholding the second letter from Lily to Daniel. Knock, knock. Who's there? Daniel! Devon admitted he knew about the letter the whole time, then stopped Sierra from telling him about letter No. 2. Daniel went back to CL and tried to put booze in his drink, but he was caught by father-figure Nick. When Nick reminded him what tomorrow was — Cassie's birthday — he finally got through to Daniel.

Jack pleaded with Phyllis to back out of her deal with Victor. EOE (end of episode), they went up to bed.

Kevin went to the morgue to ID Tom's body and got some closure. "I'm finally free of you," he declared. Then Tom came to "life" and said he was proud of his boy. "You are going to be the man I could never be," Terrible Tom added. "Goodbye and good riddance, Tom Fisher," Kevin shot back. Instead of turning Tom's body over to the county cemetary, though, he agreed to have it picked up later for a memorial service.

What was the headline in the newspaper re: Lauren?

Lauren reunited with Gloria and Kevin. Michael took her home and carried her over the threshold. Lauren promised to never, ever leave him again, not realizing her double could be running around if Sheila had the plastic surgeon transform her face into Lauren's (viewers never saw the photo she handed him, so it could be anyone, really). Lauren also admitted she was GRATEFUL to Sheila for saving her life. "She will not conquer me," Lauren swore.

Victoria called Brad to tell him Lauren is alive. Brad shared the good news with Ashley, Jack and Gina. "Does that mean Tom's coming back to life, too?" Abby queried.

Jack started to suspect that there was more to Ashley's story. Phyllis and Jack bonded at the bar over the good news about Lauren and the bad news about Ashley. Jack also noticed that Phyllis hasn't been herself lately (that's because she's been with Nick!). She sweet-talked him and took him home (to make love? Do we smell a Who's-the-Daddy storyline?!).

Sharon visited Cassie's Corner at the coffee shop and ran into Phyllis. Brad and Victoria's engagement just happened to come up (go figure) and Sharon remarked that it happened too fast, "if you ask me."

Neil accused Yolanda of being selfish where Devon is concerned. At CL (Crimson Lights), Dru tried to smooth things over with Devon.

Nick gave Victoria more grief about her engagement to Brad, but later at the GCAC Nick was nice to him re: his problems with Abby. Victoria told Sharon she's sending her on another business trip, this time with... Drucilla.

EOE (end of episode), Gloria revealed to Ashley that there was no gun powder found on her gloves, which means if she didn't pull the trigger, "THEY COULD COME AFTER JOHN."

Lauren reunited with Scott, explained what really happened and ate eggs. "Sheila" was hauled into the police station. Lauren wanted to go to the station to see "Sheila" herself. (Why the quote marks around "Sheila"? READ ON!). "It doesn't add up," Lauren shuddered. Enter "Sheila," who WASN'T limping. Aha — Sugar attacked Scott, and Sheila really escaped! Sugar wanted to destroy the one thing that ever meant anything to Sheila Carter.

Daniel reread Lily's letter where she dumped him. Mac tried to comfort him. She said she new what it felt like to lose her first love (her cousin, Billy). Kevin was also moping around, still thinking about Lauren and moving out of the loft. J.T. told Fisher to stuff it when Kevin tried to give him advice about relationships. Enter Scott, who announced Lauren is alive. Hooray! Break out the cappuccinos. Scott added that Lauren is alive because of Tom, stunning Kevin.

Yolanda denied knowing about the scholarship when Dru confronted her. Yolanda sided with Devon, who didn't want to go to college in Boston, and the two mothers clashed. "Do you really think you can do better than Neil and me?" Dru asked. Ouch! Yolanda pointed out that Devon is turning 18 soon and will be able to make his own decisions. Touché!

EOE (end of episode), Sheila went to a plastic surgeon, handed him a picture and declared, "I want to look like this." But the audience never saw whose picture it was!

Lauren and Michael's reunion continued. Paul stormed in the chapel and informed them that Sheila has vanished.

Cut to Scott's, where Sheila turned up. Scott invited her to come to the memorial service. When he tried to call for help, Sheila caught on and held a knife to his throat. Scott broke free and said he knew she was really Sheila Carter. When he lunged for her, Sheila stabbed him. Scott railed that Sheila made him sick. Sheila tried to flee, but the police arrived and arrested her.

Ashley told Jack that John found out she was arrested for Tom's shooting, and that he collapsed. Jack and Ashley were concerned about Abby too. Just then, Brad called Ashley and asked her to come to the office because Abby needed her. Ashley tried to explain to Abby why she killed Tom. John couldn't figure out "how all of this happened." Gloria panicked when John vowed to remember what happened that night. He tried to piece it all together, but Gloria threw him off at every turn. She then told John that Michael would defend Ashley.

Dru and Neil stumbled upon Devon's college-acceptance packet. He was accepted to the University of Boston — with a full scholarship! They barged in as he was talking to Yolanda to congratulate him. Devon was perturbed, because he didn't want anyone to know. "I don't want to go there," he declared.

EOE (end of episode), Lauren and Scott reunited!

Gloria got Ashley to admit that John shot Tom. They swore to protect him from the truth, but they couldn't protect him from that blabbermouth, Esther: She spilled that Ashley was arrested for Tom's murder. John got excited, so John and Gloria rushed out to calm him down, but it was too late — he had another heart attack. In private, Ashley promised Gloria that they'd go to their graves with this secret.

Nick and Sharon woke up in each other's arms. But they got into it again when Sharon suggested they not tell Noah that Cassie's birthday is coming up.

Brad and Victoria agreed to downplay their engagement until the time is right, but he wouldn't let her take off the ring. They compromised: She wore it around her necklace.

Kevin told Scott that Mac and J.T. are going to ask them to move out. Kev invited Scott to join him at Mikey's. At Crimson Lights, Mac said she wanted K&S to stay, much to J.T.'s dismay. Not to worry, J.T. Kevin arrived at CL and announced he's moving out. J.T. jumped in and said he was cool with them staying. Got that?

Oh, joy! Michael and Lauren reunited. "I was in hell, and now I feel like I'm in heaven," she blubbered. "I knew you were alive," Michael cried (yeah, then why was he throwing her a memorial service?). Lauren filled Michael in on what happened — "Sheila Carter saved my life" — acting as if she had all the time in the world (um, shouldn't she have found Scott too and told him the good news?)

At the farmhouse, the fire department couldn't find Sheila. That's because she went to the loft...to see Scott!
