Y&R Recaps Week of January 23, 2006

Friday, January 27, 2006
John returned to the scene of the crime — Roman's Steakhouse. Michael chased him down and tried to convince him to leave. John wouldn't budge and started to remember Tom standing in front of him and coming at him — and then BANG! "I remember everything. I killed Tom Fisher," he confessed.

At the house, Jack accused Gloria of hiding something from him. Gloria was saved by the bell (or was she?) when the detective in charge of the case arrived. He wanted to speak to John, but Gloria said he was upstairs sleeping. When the detective left, Jack demanded to know what was going on. Jack finally realized that John was there the night of the shooting, but he still thought Ashley did it.

Nick covered when Victoria spotted the hotel key Phyllis had slipped him. Victoria went on to bash Phyllis, but Nick (very carefully) defended her.

Nikki reported to Phyllis that Victor has offered them office space at Newman. Phyllis pooh-poohed the idea, claiming she and Nikki should remain independent. (Little did they know it was all about Nick!) Later, Nick stopped by the table and Victor revealed that Phyllis and Nikki would be working out of Newman. "I don't think that's such a good idea," he replied. But then he backed off, as Nikki wondered what was REALLY going on.

J.T. showed Paul the key Tom Fisher was wearing the night he died. Enter Mac, who felt it was a bad idea to help Kevin with the key. When Mac left, Paul reprimanded J.T. for clueing Mac in on the case. At Crimson Lights, Lauren reminded Kevin that she's alive today because of Tom. When J.T. arrived and revealed he located the box, Kevin hesitated and said he wasn't ready to see what was in it.

EOE (end of episode), Gloria finally told Jack that John shot Tom, and Nick went to room 714 to meet Phyllis. Hot times!

John went to see Michael and confided that he's having memory flashes. When John stepped out, Michael ran to the phone and called Ashley, who, along with Gloria, was frantic. When John returned, he demanded to know where and how Tom Fisher was killed, and for Michael to take him to the scene of the crime. When Michael refused, John went to the Steakhouse himself.

Nick flirted with Phyllis at the GCAC. She slipped him a hotel room key, but he insisted, "Phyllis, we can't do this." They made a pinky swear, tho: not to talk about Jack and Sharon. Nick admitted he's scared; Phyllis assured this is just about having fun but told him to just throw away the room key. Later, Victoria spotted the key...

Victoria groaned to Brad about not being able to go public with their engagement. Victor and Nikki observed them from a table poolside at the GCAC. Nikki asked VIctor if there's free office space at Newman that she and Phyllis can use (watch out, Nick!).

Daniel and Colleen soaked in the hot tub at the GCAC, much to J.T.'s chagrin. Colleen spotted Brad and Victoria and walked over to say hello. Then she went over to J.T. and continued to harp on the fact that Kevin is still running around Genoa City.

Kevin showed J.T. and Mac the safe-deposite box key Tom had on him when he died.

Nick flashed back to his roll in the hay with Phyllis, just as Jack walked up to him. Jack commented that he felt he's betrayed Nick, because he used to be his stepfather and hasn't been there for him lately. Oh, the irony! Jack invited him to have a cup of coffee, but Nick also knew he had to meet someone in room 714 who had "champagne chilling."

Gloria stopped Glenn Richards from harassing Gina. Michael swooped in and pulled Ashley away, before she could dig herself deeper. In private, he asked her point blank (so to speak) if John shot Tom. Ashley stuck to her story.

Daniel told Devon he's walking away from Lily. "It's over," Danny Boy accepted. Devon twitched nervously.

Kevin got a call from the morgue, asking how he wanted to handle Tom's burial. John overheard and asked what was going on. John offered to cover the burial costs (even though Kevin and Michael hit the lottery a few months back!).

Phyllis lunched with Nikki and told her she and Jack are finished. Phyllis was taken aback when she spotted Nick with Jack poolside. Nick text msg'd her to meet him at the gym. "You look so hot right now," he drooled.

Mac and J.T. (well, a reluctant J.T.) tried to convince Colleen that Kevin has changed.

EOE (end of episode), John went to Michael to talk about Ashley and the night Tom was shot.

Kevin reported to Gloria that Colleen is back and hates him more than ever. Colleen reunited with "Granddad" John and asked how everyone in town could forgive Kevin Fisher. Enter Gloria, who told Colleen they needed to have a talk. Gloria pointed out that Kevin saved John's life, then gave her a stern warning to put aside her differences with her son for John's sake. No guarantees, warned Colleen, adding "You keep Kevin away from me."

Yolanda admitted to Devon that she came on to Neil. Devon ripped into his mother, as if she had committed a crime or something. Yolanda announced she's leaving town and moving to Seattle. Neil changed his tune and offered to help her get a job at Newman Enterprises in Seattle. Yolanda promised to keep going to NA meetings, then said a tearful goodbye to Devon. Sniff, sniff.

Ashley confided in Victor, but didn't tell him she's covering for John. Later, Ashley went home only to have John tell her he believes he was there the night Tom was shot. Ashley tried to change the subject.

Phyllis to Jack: "I've got news for ya. You're not that charming." They argued some more, but then started to make out...until Phyllis pulled away. Jack left, seemingly for good this time.

Michael and Paul tried to piece the Tom puzzle together, but were missing the obvious: JOHN DID IT!

Nick and Phyllis had a roll in the hay (literally and figuratively). In Denver, Sharon told Dru she didn't like how she left things with Nick. Sharon called Nick, who was cleaning up the barn (and the evidence from the scene of the crime). A guilty Nick apologized...for how he behaved before she left. Enter Daniel, who was looking for Noah. They decided to play a game of one-on-one, but first Daniel reported that Phyllis and Jack were in a heated conversion back at the apartment. NIck got a little jealous when Daniel said Jack has been like a father to him.

Jack tried to help Daniel through the Lily situation. Enter Phyllis. "Where were ya?" Jack asked. "I was shopping," Phyllis lied. Then she ripped into Jack again for screwing her over re: the wellness project.

Yolanda dropped her robe and came onto Neil. Neil BLASTED her and told her she's deluded. When Dru called, Yolanda stood there and listened to the entire conversation. Yolanda thanked Neil for not telling Dru what happened, but he promised he was going to tell Dru the minute she got home. Yolanda tried to apologize, but Neil wouldn't accept it and accused her of being a conniving...well, ya know. Mean, mean, mean. Neil grabbed her arm, just as Devon walked in. He demanded to know what was going on.

St. Mac told J.T. she wanted to help Colleen. "You're incredible, you know that," J.T. gushed.

Colleen ran off when she spotted Kevin at the coffeeshop, but then came back and confronted him. "You look good," Kevin commented dismissively. Then he swore that the Kevin Fisher she knew doesn't exist anymore. He also revealed that he own Crimson Lights now with Mac, and explained that J.T., Mac and him are roommates. Colleen got all weepy and lashed out at Kevin.
