Paul, Nicholas and Brad continued to search for the reliquary so they could rescue Sharon. Nick made some calls and reported that the item is no longer with the Klaas family. Victoria tried to track it down and became annoyed when Brad questioned her. She and Nick also snapped at each other as he became more anxious. Later, Phyllis stopped by and Brad was angry that she knows so much. Nick urged her to leave town. The gang then received a video that gave them a specific amount of time to get the reliquary to the kidnappers — or else Sharon's toast.
In Kansas, Victor, wearing a cut-off plaid shirt, sat with his mouth hanging open as he stared at a golden light coming in through the windows at the farm. Hope was concerned about blisters on his hands; he shared that he'd done some farm work. She was surprised when he said that he wants to go on a spiritual quest. Hope told him that she's not his guru. She was shocked to hear he's now friends with Jack and thought that perhaps he's already fulfilling his quest by becoming a better person.
Lily sadly thought about her fight with Daniel and how he'd lied to her about being involved in the Alex scheme, while Daniel regretted having told her the truth. Lily told Neil that Alex was back in town. She tried to stop him from calling the police, but he insisted. When the cop arrived, he questioned Daniel and wondered how well the teen knows Al. Lily tried to keep Daniel's involvement secret, but he told Lily not to hold back.
Meanwhile, in Crimson Lights, an unconscious Alex awakened, covered in bruises. Kevin informed him that Al had attacked another woman and they have it on tape. A woozy Al didn't believe him until Kevin showed him the "tell-tale" video (in which Kevin was disguised as Alex and was pretending to attack Jana). Alex agreed to leave town.

A jumpy Lauren greeted Michael with the following announcement: "I'm calling the police!" Turns out she was surprised to see him home from New Orleans a day early. Michael showed his wife the gifts he brought home from the N'Awlins, including a very appropriate one for Gloria. He shared how depressing it had been seeing the city post-Hurricane Katrina, but praised the effort that everyone's been making to revive it. A nice PSA, given that portrayer Christian J. LeBlanc is from there. Anyway, Michael suggested that when "Baby Baldwin" is born, they go to the city to see some jazz. However, he shared that he didn't find anything on his dad at his family's home, save for a photograph that could be of his father and a diary. He wasn't sure he should read it, but Lauren said that it could help him find his grandmother. He began to look through it for some clues, but the ink had run and it was difficult to read.
Gloria again asked Kevin if Jana could join in their plan, but he refused. Soon, Alex arrived at Crimson Lights to harass Kevin. Kev introduced Gloria to his "friend," whom he called "J.J." Glo tried to get Al to stay put by continually offering him beverages until he accepted one (a beer). As she chatted with him, their conversation was recorded by the cameras she'd just installed. Turns out she'd drugged his drink and he soon fell unconscious. Kevin quickly changed into Al's clothes, plus the spiffy fedora. Jana then walked in and demanded to know what's going on. Gloria lied that Alex is blackmailing her and spun a story about how he has nude photos of her.
The Winterses celebrated Drucilla's birthday by playing some strange game where they had to guess definitions for words. But Daniel wasn't in much of a mood to play games, as he thought about the situation he's in regarding Alex. After Dru opened her gifts, she gave Daniel some clothes from Paris. Daniel was surprised and touched by the gesture. Later, Dru snuggled on the couch with Neil, but he rebuffed her attempts to get romantic.
At home, Daniel told Lily the whole truth on his role in the Alex scheme. "I want you to understand that I never meant to hurt you," he began, his head in his hands. "I'm sorry ... I kind of had a lot of stuff going on in my life." Lily refused to believe him, thinking Kevin had done it all. Daniel explained that Kev had tried to protect him and it was his idea to get someone to attack him so Kevin could look like a hero. "You could never do that," a disbelieving Lily said. "I did," he stated. "I'm the one who set it up with Alex." "You had Alex attack me?" she seethed. "I almost had a nervous breakdown ... I was freaking out at school, thinking Alex would come back to me. I thought it was something I did, that the boy saw something in me." "I'm sorry ... if I could go back..." Daniel cried. "You can't," she sobbed. "You lied to me ... you hurt me. You ruined my life. You're a coward. You let Kevin take the blame for everything; at least he was willing to tell me the truth." Aw, this is heartbreaking. Lily couldn't understand why Daniel decided to 'fess up now. He explained that Alex is back in town and he feared for her safety. Lily was hit with a new blow as she realized that Daniel had kept that secret from her for several days, as well. "You're not the person I thought you were at all," she said. Daniel insisted he is. "No," she said, "not even close." Lily then stormed out and went home to her parents.

Drucilla invited Neil to join her for dinner for her birthday but he turned her down, explaining he had work. Devon offered to take her out instead. Dru asked Neil who'd be at his meeting, but he evaded the question and left. Later, Lily brought over a birthday croissant for her mom and said that she has to work tonight. Dru was disappointed. After, she called to find out Carmen's schedule. Later, Dru warned Carmen to stay away from her husband. Carmen denied that anything's going on between her and Neil. When Dru came home, she was treated to a surprise birthday party from her family.
Daniel called Kevin to ask if he'd gotten the money for Alex. Kevin told him to trust that Gloria would help them, but Daniel was anxious to get rid of Al ASAP. Soon, Alex — wearing his trademark fedora; this time, a spiffy plaid one — came by to see Daniel. Daniel assured him that they'd soon have the money for him, then tried to shove Al. Alex warned Daniel not to touch him and said that he isn't going away. Meanwhile, at Crimson Lights, Lily purchased some coffee and goodies from Kevin, while Gloria came by and ordered workmen to put in cameras. Glo told Kevin that everything was all set to put their plan against Alex into motion. She revealed that she has some experience pulling off cons, like the time she'd managed to get money for Kevin's medication.... Phyllis spied Alex getting into the elevator and quizzed Daniel about Al's return. Daniel confessed that he's being blackmailed. Phyll warned him that blackmailers never stop asking for money.... Jana told Kevin she wants to get to know him better. Gloria wanted Jana to help them, but Kevin argued against it.
Brad, Nicholas and Victoria anxiously awaited to hear news on a missing Sharon and J.T. To pass the time, they tried to track down the reliquary that the kidnapper wanted. Nick seethed when Brad suggested that he be "grateful" the thugs think Sharon is Brad's wife. Brad explained that it's the only reason they're keeping her alive. Soon, Nick and Victoria filled in Nikki on the situation. Nikki began to panic, but Nick urged her to make Noah think that everything's okay. After, the gang found a picture of the reliquary they're looking for. Brad then freaked out when Phyllis stopped by, concerned that another person knows what's going on. Nick reminded Brad that Sharon wouldn't be in danger if it weren't for him. Vicky urged them not to argue so they could concentrate on helping J.T. and Sharon.... Nikki played soccer with Noah and told him that his mom is on a business trip.... Nick wanted to call the FBI, but Brad argued against it.... Dru was annoyed when she called for Sharon and Nick hung up on her.... Nikki decided to take Noah on a road trip.... Victoria managed to track down the reliquary.

In Kansas, Victor and Hope shared an emotional reunion. Hope explained that Victor, Jr. is in sports camp. Guess they don't have "boarding schools" in Kansas, huh? She encouraged her ex-hubby to relax before he tells her what's been on his mind. Victor obliged and helped her shuck corn — really! — as he filled her in on his new life. Hope was surprised that he's no longer obsessed with work. He explained that he's having a "spiritual awakening."
On the plane to Hawaii, Colleen suggested to Rebecca that they let Paul know about the Kaplan's family troubles. This way, he could have the information necessary to help them. Becky was concerned about bringing another person into it, but eventually relented and gave her granddaughter permission to fill in Paul. Rebecca later assured Colleen that anything bad that's happened in relation to the Kaplan saga isn't Coll's fault.
Brad received a call from Sharon's kidnapper and heard a tearful Sharon over the phone. Victoria was aghast when he said that the thugs think Sharon is his wife, which is why they're holding her hostage. He said that they want a specific reliquary. "A container for sacred relics?" Vicky helpfully stated, making sure everyone in the audience knows what a reliquary is. She wanted to get Nicholas involved, but Brad insisted on handling the thugs himself. She insisted on speaking with her brother. Soon, Paul called offering to help. Brad reminded him that they wouldn't be in this trouble if Paul and J.T. hadn't stuck their noses into his business in the first place. However, he quickly put aside his anger and asked for the P.I.'s assistance in finding J.T. and Sharon. After, Brad asked Rebecca for help in finding the item, but the only information she had was that it belonged to the Klaas family in Belgium.
Phyllis served Nicholas a dish which he called "interesting." He called her cooking attempt "valiant" and offered to take her out to dinner whenever she wants. After, a giddy Phyllis showed Nick pictures from her ultrasound. She explained that she doesn't want to know the baby's gender yet. The baby kicked and Nick felt her stomach. Victoria then called telling him to come home for an emergency. When Nick arrived, Victoria informed him that Sharon's been kidnapped. Brad then explained his past as George Kaplan and how it's his fault Sharon was taken. Nick was understandably furious. The gang then examined a tape from the kidnappers of J.T. to see if they could figure out where the hostages are being held. However, Brad soon got a call with the news that Sharon and J.T. were no longer being held at that location, a construction site.

At Newman, Jack asked Nicholas if they could call a truce. Nick agreed.... Victor suggested to Nikki that they take a vacation. Nikki was surprised by the locations he had in mind. He explained that he needs to find his purpose in life. Nikki wasn't so understanding. Jack soon interrupted to show off NVP's new spa wear — robes. After Nikki walked out, Vic asked Jack if Jack can keep a secret; he admitted that he's still having visions of Hope and needs to find "answers." Jack encouraged him to go on a vision quest.... Nick confided in Nikki on how he's concerned about Noah's reaction to his and Sharon's impending divorce. Nikki reminded him how difficult it can be for a kid and urged him and Sharon to work out the details regarding custody. Later, Nick filled in Victor on his relationship problems. Nick was surprised when his father revealed that he's taking a trip — but Victor said not to worry because Zapato would be staying with Miguel (good to know Migs is earning his keep). Nikki freaked out when she learned that Victor had already left town. Hope was surprised when Victor arrived on her doorstep.
On the plane, Brad introduced his family to his mother, Rebecca. Victoria was shocked, but Colleen calmly introduced herself as her granddaughter. "I know this is a shock..." Brad began to his wife. Vicky demanded he tell her what was going on. He promised to soon fill her in on his family's past. Before he and Victoria sent the girls off, he and Colleen shared a tearful hug good-bye. "I guess we're off to Hawaii," Colleen announced, then wondered what she should call Rebecca. "Bubbie," answered the Jewish-star wearing Rebecca, or "Grandma Becky." Wouldn't "Grandma" suffice? Then again, Abby and Noah call Victor, "Victor." "Becky" wondered how much Colleen knew about Brad — er, George's — past and Coll revealed that she knows everything. She was most surprised to learn that she's, well, a Jew. Becky was thrilled to be spending time with her grandkids. Alone, Brad filled his wife in on his family's encounters with the Nazis, and how he stole his deceased best friend, Brad Carlton's, identity. Vicky was shocked to hear "George's" tale and wasn't sure she could trust him. She was also disappointed that he'd keep something like this from her. She couldn't understand why people would be after his family; he explained that the paintings his mother helped return were worth millions.
Meanwhile, an unconscious Sharon was stuffed into the trunk of a car. When she later awakened, she found herself tied to J.T. J.T. revealed that they're in Cleveland and that their kidnapping has something to do with Brad. Soon, a man wearing a suit injected J.T. with something. Suit man then called Brad. "We have your wife," he said menacingly, meaning Sharon.
