Y&R Recaps Week of October 16, 2006Friday, October 20, 2006 Carmen asked Neil how Devon was doing. "We're supposed to believe that you care, Carmen?" Neil snapped. They started to bicker about the Dru situation. "I'd appreciate it that we get through our meetings without you harassing me about Drucilla," Carmen sneered. Sharon tried to lift Dru's spirits. She was down in the dumps over not only Carmen, but over Devon moving in with Daniel and Lily (who was typing away at Crimson Lights). "What is Carmen's problem? She acts like she's the victim in all this," Sharon remarked, jumping on the we-hate-Carmen bandwagon. Dru called the office and got Carmen, who hung up on her. Carmen ran and called Will. "I'm about to have a nervous breakdown," she cried. Neil returned and chewed her out for hanging up on Dru. Jack offered Daniel a property that the Abbotts own near GCU as a new place for him and Lily to rent. It took all of five minutes for them to grab Devon and move in. Neil and Dru stopped by to help them get settled. Back at Newman, Mr. Kim arrived to discuss the Victor situation. "He's suspicious about something," noted Jack, who suggested Ji Min befriend Victor. Later, Jack ran into Carmen, who was sobbing. Jack left, grabbing the wrong cell phone. He ran into Phyllis and asked her to cover a meeting for him, but she couldn't because of her trip (with Nick).
End of episode, Nick gave Phyllis a wedding gift: a blue cowboy hat. Dru learned her trial date was moved up; Carmen intercepted a text from Mr. Kim to Jack; and Paul informed Michael and Lauren that Sheila had plastic surgery and could be using anyone's face.
Thursday, October 19, 2006 Kevin was jealous when he saw Jana leaving the coffeehouse with Billy. Jana went to the Chancellor estate, which she compared to "Upstairs, Downstairs." Enter Jill, who liked Jana. Esther also doted on the kids. Jana noticed an expensive artifact in the living room, impressing Katherine. "She's well-educated," noted the Duchess (as Billy called her. He must have picked that up from Brock!). Gloria ran into Ashley at Crimson Lights, but Ashley basically ignored her. The ladies then bickered until Kevin politely broke it up. Jack felt out Nikki about Victor's health. Meanwhile, Victor was feeling out Mr. Kim and his relationship with Jack. "He speaks very highly of you, Victor," Mr. Kim noted. Katherine stopped by to see Victor. He asked her about Jack inquiring about buying Jabot. "When I refused to sell it to him, he tried to pull a fast one," Katherine revealed, referring to the dummy corporation, Raaz Cosmetics. "Hmmm," Victor responded, wondering how House of Kim got involved. End of episode, Lauren and Michael named their son Fenmore Michael Baldwin ("Finn" for short); Jack revealed to Ashley that their father's ghost has been visiting him; and Victor Googled House of Kim for info on the CEO, Ji Min.
Wednesday, October 18, 2006 Lauren's temperature went back up as Michael, Gloria and Kevin rallied around her and the baby. Victor also offered Michael his support. Finally, Lauren's fever broke. "I need to hold him," Lauren insisted. Jana offered her support to Kevin. Billy walked in just as she kissed him. Kevin left and Billy moved in, bragging about living in the Chancellor mansion and offering to give Jana a tour. She accepted his offer. Dru chased down Lily to talk about Devon, who wanted to move out. Dru and Neil opposed it, but Lily didn't. Later, Dru and Neil got the call — the date for her trial has been set (two weeks from now). At Crimson Lights, Devon didn't hear someone behind him and knocked over the guy's coffee. Lily suggested Devon come live with her and Daniel. Neil took Dru to see his new club, Indigo. Neil put her in charge of designing the joint. End of episode, Lily helped Devon move; Kevin ran into Billy and Jana; Neil and Dru were ecstatic about the opening of Indigo; Lauren was given the green light to see her son; and Victor introduced himself to Mr. Kim.
Tuesday, October 17, 2006 Drucilla scolded Lily for telling Devon (who was MIA) that she was fired. "Devon doesn't need us hovering over him," reminded Neil. Devon finally texted Lily while she was at Crimson Lights. "We'll figure this out together," Lily typed back. Moments later, he showed up. Daniel talked/typed to him. "I feel like I can see better," Devon noted. "And smells are stronger too." Lily signed to him and asked why didn't he let Jana know he couldn't hear. Devon said he didn't want people to feel sorry for him. Back at the apartment, Dru and Neil kissed and she broke down. Jack and Sharon had a drink with Mr. Kim, after taking him out to dinner. When the he took a cell phone call in the living room, he doubled over in stomach pain, so Jack and Sharon rushed him to the hospital. He had food poisoning. They, of course, ran into Phyllis and Nick. Phyllis blew a gasket when she found out Jack struck a Jabot/NVP deal with House of Kim. Michael spotted Jack and erupted at him for all the pain he caused (but wasn't Michael the one who hacked into Jack's e-mails?). Michael went to talk to his newborn son. Gloria apologized for everything, but Michael changed his tune and said he appreciated her being there with him. Meanwhile, Nick and Phyllis went home and she announced nothing is going to happen to their child. They started to kiss, but she noted, "The doctor said we should stop having sex soon." "Soon" being the operative word, they made love on the couch. End of episode, Nick suggested they get married in a different state; Gloria went and saw her grandson; and Michael showed the still-ailing Lauren a photo of their son on his cell phone.
Monday, October 16, 2006 Neil gave Carmen a piece of his mind over Carmen forcing Victoria to fire Drucilla. "Dru brought this on herself," Ms. Mesta snapped. Jack advised Ashley to keep a good poker face at Jabot. "If my cover is blown, I don't want you going down with me," he noted. Jack had grand plans for an aggressive overseas NVP tie-in with Jabot, but Jill pooh-poohed the idea. Later, Jack, Ashley and Jill met with the House of Kim executive. Ashley backed Jack's proposal, and the HOK boss agreed, so Jill lost (only she didn't know why). She also got reprimanded by the House of Kim exec for not keeping him in the loop. Ashley stood up for Jill, but the CEO still took a verbal beating. "What just happened here?" Jill asked when he left. Back at the house, Ashley chastised Jack for ordering his lackey to humiliate Jill. Jack was unapologetic. Dru told Devon she took a leave of absence from work, and that she's going to spend more time with him and take an intensive sign language course. He blew up when he thought she was staying home to watch after him. Lily later broke it to him that Dru got fired because of Carmen. "That lady, she's got some problems, big time," Devon steamed. He left to go confront — and tell off — Carmen. End of episode, Victoria called off her search for the reliquary (but Colleen didn't; she asked her infamous art professor to help her find it for the Newman art collection); and Neil walked in on Carmen and Devon and broke up their argument.
