Y&R Recaps Week of Nov. 6, 2006

While dining at GCAC, Paul and Michael reminded Neil that Drucilla's past actions with Carmen make her look guilty of murdering Ms. Mesta. Michael and Paul speculated that Carmen could have been killed by Dru during a heated encounter in the parking structure of Newman Enterprises, "where there is plenty of privacy." To illustrate how anyone could be a suspect, Neil opined that even Michael could have accidentally killed Carmen after she attacked him for threatening her. Michael asked Paul if Brad had murderous potential. "Maybe Carmen has something on Brad," Baldwin declared as Paul recalled Brad's determination to guard his secret identity. Neil was offended when Devon was brought up again as the possible killer. "It's ridiculous to think that one of my kids could've done it," Neil huffed. While he was on a business call, Paul wondered if Neil's tension was caused by "worry or guilt." The P.I. then theorized how Neil could've done the deed. Neil returned and said a scorned Jack could have attacked Carmen after she dumped him. Paul advised Neil not to talk about the case with anyone. Michael gave Winters this stern warning: "If I find out that you or anyone else in you family is guilty, I am off the case."

Jack told Mr. Kim that he's optimistic Will believed their story about Carmen's job opportunity in Hong Kong. "I'm less worried about him suspecting me of murder than I am of him finding out that I own Jabot," Jack admitted about the D.A.'s nosiness. Mr. Kim announced the surprising theory that Jack eliminated Carmen because she was a blackmailer (plus Jack has no alibi during her time of death). "That kind of behavior would be uncharacteristic of me," sniffed Jack, who singled out that Mr. Kim could've gone too far in order to keep Carmen from revealing his illegal business connection to Jack. "I wouldn't risk a life sentence to avoid a few years in jail for fraud," Mr. Kim noted. Jack even thought Paul could've accidentally killed Carmen after she angrily confronted him about his investigation of her.

Brad worried that he and Victoria could be considered suspects in Carmen's homicide. "I am above suspicion," Vicky claimed, but to prove his point, Brad said it's not a stretch for the police to believe that his wife silenced Carmen with a tire iron. Victoria countered that Carmen could have discovered that Jana was an art thief who then took drastic measures. Meanwhile, Jana's wild imagination dreamed of Adrian as a serial killer who stalked Carmen with deadly results. "You've got a twisted mind," Kevin told her.

Colleen got peeved when Adrian theorized that "Saint Lily" could have offed Carmen. "Yelling at the woman is a long way from murdering her," Colleen pointed out but Adrian still set up a fatal encounter between the gals. However, Colleen cited Kevin as the culprit. "He's a homicidal maniac, he tired to kill me," Colleen charged. She fantasized that Carmen could have been in the coffeehouse alone with Kevin when he made unwanted overtures toward her. Colleen later met up with Lily, Devon and Daniel and revealed Adrian's creative scenario. "I was almost convicted in Cassie's death," recalled Daniel. "It would be easy for the police to think anyone of us did it. None of us have alibis."

Victoria asked Colleen if Coll would help her and Adrian with the art museum benefit. Colleen turned her down, thinking it was better if she stayed away from him. Brad was relieved that Colleen didn't want to deal with Adrian and said he's suspicious of Korbell.... Adrian approached Colleen in the coffeehouse, but she gave him the cold shoulder. He was disappointed that she turned down the offer to work on the benefit.... Brad asked J.T. to investigate Adrian. Later, J.T. joined Colleen and Adrian for coffee. He and Korbell made plans to hang out without Colleen.... Kevin noted that Colleen acts differently around Adrian.

Gloria told Kevin she's determined to make JiMin accept her perfume idea. Kevin informed her that he did a test run of her product online and it sold out quickly. Gloria shared this information with Jack, but he refused to help her pursuade JiMin to pick up the product.

Victor informed Nikki that he received a letter from Carmen's brother. In it, her brother said that he wished Carmen had gone to Hong Kong to work for House Of Kim sooner so she could've gotten out of town safely. They were surprised to hear she'd had an offer from that company. Vic called JiMin, who agreed to meet Newman for breakfast. Jack warned him to be wary of Victor.... Nikki asked Sharon about Carmen's job offer. Sharon stated that she'd only just learned about it herself. Nikki was intrigued when Sharon noted that Jack had taken a business meeting in Belize during their trip to Antigua... Victor and JiMin dined at the GCAC, where they discussed NVP. JiMin was surprised that Vic had been able to let go of the company so easily. Newman replied that he doesn't regret the move. He then asked why JiMin offered Carmen a job; Kim replied that he was impressed with her and thought she would've welcomed the chance to leave town. Later, Gloria presented her case to JiMin.... Nikki told Victor about Jack's Belize trip. Victor realized that Jack purchased House of Kim and hoped Abbott isn't using Sharon.... Sharon invited Jack to accompany her on a Carribbean trip. He was concerned when she noted how curious Nikki had been about the Belize trip.... Despite Jack's reluctance, Kim decided to take on Gloria's project ... but put Ashley in charge of it.... Victor was determined to find out what Jack's connection to Carmen was.

Katherine apologized to Jill for snapping at her and explained that she hasn't been sleeping well. Jill assured Kay that she and Jack are keeping an eye on Billy so his money problems can't get any worse. Kay hoped they could keep him out of trouble. Jill was upset when Kay concluded that Billy had stolen an antique of hers. Kay searched Billy's room and learned that he'd sold it to a pawn shop. She warned Jill that if Jill doesn't handle her son, she will. Jill tearfully filled in Jack of Billy's actions, while Kay confronted Billy. "I can only imagine what your father would think," she snapped. "I don't know what you intend to do to regain my trust, but if you're going to live under my roof, by God, you'd better find a way." Later, Jack told Billy that he'll cover the gambling debts if Billy takes a job in Hong Kong ... because Hong Kong doesn't have gambling? It would probably make more sense for Jack to send Billy someplace like Utah. Anyway, Billy accepted and told Jill he's leaving immediately. Jill was shocked, but Billy was grateful for the help. Billy reported that Kay had said John would've been ashamed of him. Jill didn't agree with that and blamed Kay for his departure.

Michael was exhausted after the hearings but he was surprised when Lauren agreed to let Gloria throw a dinner party. Jana, Kevin, Nicholas and Phyllis arrived for the evening, too. Phyllis and Michael agreed to put aside their differences regarding the Carmen case and just be friends for the evening. Glo served the gang a homemade Middle Eastern spread ... and put wa-a-ay too much garlic in the hummus. The rest of the meal turned out to be equally as bad. Michael suggested they order in Gina's lasagna; he was met with cheers of approval.... Jana offered to babysit for Phyllis and Nick when their daughter is born.... Lauren and Gloria argued while cleaning up, causing baby Fen to cry. A stressed-out Lauren snapped at her mother-in-law and Kevin and Jana spirited Gloria out of the apartment to diffuse the situation. Nick and Michael gushed about the joys of parenthood. "I wouldn't give up being a father for anything," Nick rhapsodized. Lauren felt bad for being abrasive with Gloria.

When Colleen spotted Adrian arrive at the GCAC, she thought about their kiss. She was surprised to see Adrian join Victoria but it turned out they were working together on an art-related project. While Adrian was away from the table, Colleen chatted with Victoria, who revealed that Adrian mentioned that Colleen was a great assistant. After Victoria left, Adrian asked Colleen to help him with cataloguing photos. Colleen got playful and Adrian abruptly left.

Jill put on a sexy, black dress for a date with Will. Katherine griped that her daughter should be concentrating on her problems with Billy instead. "I'm so glad I'm going out tonight because I'm in need of a lot less parental guidance," Jill huffed. Soon, Will arrived; Jill barked at Kay to disappear into one of the many other rooms in the Chancellor manse. Kay didn't listen, so Jill and her date quickly left. Esther told her boss that she heard Kay moaning in her sleep. Kay admitted that she's been having bad dreams and blamed Jill for her distress. "I can relate to that," replied the maid. "Jill's given me plenty of nightmares over the years."

At the GCAC, Jill and Will enjoyed each other's company. "You could read me the phone book and I'd have a good time," he told her. They were interrupted when Michael arrived to pick up the lasagna and he reamed out the D.A. for terrorizing everyone during their testimonies. Will and Jill went home and started smooching in the living room. Kay and Esther returned from their evening out and walked in on the make-out session. Will excused himself and left. Jill was angry at first but the two women were able to laugh about the embarrassing moment. But the humor faded when Kay criticized Jill for her trashy behavior. Jill got further upset when Kay brought up her daughter's long-ago affair with Kay's husband.

Kevin and Jana escorted Gloria to the coffeehouse. Glo lamented that she should live in Jana's camper in the middle of the woods and out of everybody's way. Kevin told his mom not to be so dramatic. Gloria brightened when Will showed up. Kevin and Jana excused themselves so they could be alone. Since his dinner with Jill was cut short, thanks to Michael's tirade, Will agreed to share a bite to eat with Gloria.

Michael admitted to Lauren that he's afraid Drucilla will blow her stack during the hearing. Lauren wondered if he thinks Dru really did kill Carmen. Michael wasn't sure, but wanted to be ready for whatever Bardwell throws at them.

Meanwhile, Neil and Dru — wearing a hat which would've fit right in for court in the 1800s — prepared for the hearing. Dru feared that Devon would be thrown in jail and wouldn't survive there. Neil did his best to keep her calm.... Devon shared his fears with Lily that if he messes up with "one wrong answer," he could be in trouble.... Daniel urged Phyllis to go easy on Dru during her testimony because there was no way Dru could've been the murderer. Phyllis noted that under the right circumstances, people can be capable of anything and that she's going to be honest about Dru.... Brad told Victoria that he's ready for anything Will asks.... Neil and Dru were surprised to learn that Victoria and Brad had been called before the grand jury. Dru declared her innocence to them. Brad assured her that they're not out to get her.... Michael and Phyllis shared a tense encounter at the courthouse. Phyll stated that she's going to just be honest about Dru and that she saw her being violent on the tape.

At Crimson Lights, Colleen pressed Lily for details on the case. Lily told her that the police found an envelope with information on Carmen which Devon had picked up. Coll urged her not to lie to protect Devon. Lily believed that Will has it in for the Winterses. Colleen wondered if Devon really did have something to do with the murder; Lily refused to even consider it.... J.T. noticed that the coffeehouse is now selling CDs. He tried to "cheer up" Devon by chatting about music, but this did nothing for the deaf teen.... Korbell stopped by and had a pleasant conversation with J.T. Colleen was surprised that he and Adrian were getting along, but J.T. said he's trying to for her sake.

Lauren became increasingly stressed as she cared for little Fen. She decided to leave him with Gloria and join Michael so she could support him.

Victoria was the first to be questioned (though we didn't actually get to see it). When she emerged from the room, she looked overwhelmed and didn't want to talk about the experience.... Brad went next and also looked beaten by the time he was through. It was then Phyllis's turn. She gave Michael a withering glance before heading in. "Do what you have to do," he sighed. Lily feared Phyllis would "crucify" Drucilla. Michael instructed the gang to tell the truth or plead the fifth.... Vicky and Brad discussed the questioning and how both had been grilled about the night of Carmen's murder. Victoria was anxious for it to be over.... Dru and Lily both began to freak out as they waited for their turns. Michael reminded them that they don't have a choice and have to deal with it. After, Neil and Dru rehearsed the alibi they'd come up with, which had them spending that evening together. Lauren took Dru out for some coffee, while Neil and Michael tried to ease Lily's fears. When Phyllis emerged, Lily had harsh words for her. Phyllis didn't acknowledge her, but admitted to Michael in private that Will was "weird" and "creepy." Later, Dru returned to the courthouse when Devon was being questioned. Devon panicked when they wanted to take a DNA sample. Neil informed him that he could be put in jail if he doesn't. Devon gave in and did it. Dru went in for her questioning. She later came out looking relieved and whispered to Neil that she stuck to their story.

At Crimson Lights, Jana questioned Will about Carmen's crime, but he refused to discuss the case. He wondered why she's so interested.

Gloria complained to Kevin about having to find a place to live. Hoping to make him feel guilty, she sighed and named an exotic location that she could go to. Kevin blanched when she noted her growing friendship with Will and advised her not to "buddy up" to the man who's investigating the tainted Jabot cream case. Gloria gushed about Bardwell's relationship with his late wife, Miranda. Glo believed that she and Miranda have a lot in common; Kevin didn't agree with her.

Jill and Katherine argued over Billy's growing gambling program. When Kay implied that Jill wasn't a good parent, Jill became angry. Kay feared that he'd enter a downward spiral. Jill wanted to let him off the hook, but Kay disagreed. Later, after Kay caught him asking Esther for a loan, Kay asked Billy if he was being threatened for money. He tried to downplay his problem. Ashley sided with Kay, which upset Jill. After, Kay and Jill got into a huge fight over him. "Aren't you the one who gave your child away?" Jill sniped. Later, Jill checked in with Gina to see if Billy paid his tab and surprise, surprise, he hadn't.... Jack admonished Jill for giving Billy money. She urged him not to tell Kay and admitted that Kay was right about her being irresponsible with her son. Jack and Jill confronted Billy and he confessed that he owes thousands of dollars in gambling. Billy promised to "fix" everything and was furious when Jack said that he couldn't use his inheritance money.

Drucilla was subpoenaed to a grand jury for the Carmen murder case. She confided in Sharon about her fears. They were interrupted by Will.... Bardwell quizzed Jack about the funds he's wired to Carmen's account. Jack slipped up and mentioned that Carmen had had a job offer from the House of Kim, then covered and said he sent the money to buy out her NVP contract. Will then asked Jill about Carmen and Dru's relationship. Jill noted that they didn't get along and that Carmen helped end the moisturizer scandal. Will promised to call her.... Sharon noted that Jack seemed bothered by Will's interrogation. Sharon hoped everything would work out for Dru. Jack stated that he'd wanted Carmen to leave town.... Ashley and Jill told Will they didn't know about Carmen's job offer. JiMin promised to cover for Jack.... Sharon told Dru that Carmen had asked Victoria for a payoff. Dru filled her in on Carmen's shady past where she'd had an affair with a married man and had then asked for a payoff in exchange for not filing a sexual harassment suit. Dru was still concerned that she's going to go to jail. Sharon promised to back her up. Sharon then informed Jack about Carmen's past. Jack feared that his payoff to Carmen looks suspicious.
