Y&R Recaps Week of November 13, 2006

Friday, November 17, 2006
J.T. and Colleen glowed about their "unbelievable makeup sex" until there was a knock at the door — it was Brad. He demanded to know why Colleen mentioned Rebecca to Professor Korbel. Brad got even angrier when Colleen revealed that Korbel met Rebecca once, at Crimson Lights. "Did you forget to mention that my real name is George Kaplan?" he added sarcastically. Brad warned her that "this is about staying alive. This is not a game." Later, Colleen met with Korbel again, but she kept her mouth shut this time when he queried her about Rebecca.

Dru and Neil continued to look into cochlear implant surgery for Devon. Enter Will, with a warrant for their arrest for committing perjury. Neil and Dru called Michael, who ran right over and clashed with Will. Dru went ballistic because their arrests will prevent Devon from having his surgery right away. Michael scolded Dru, ordering her to calm down so the DA doesn't get any more ammo against her.

Nick and Phyllis arrived at the hospital because her contractions had started...but actually, they hadn't. The doctor informed them that it was a false alarm. Phyllis insisted on going to the office, where Nick asked her to take it easy. Enter Jack, who came down hard on Phyllis for her not handling a denied zoning permit for a new N.V.P. location. "I own N.V.P." he reminded, yelling. Phyllis was furious, but kept her mouth closed. Meanwhile, at the GCAC, Victor met with a senator and asked about that so-called zoning problem. When the politician said there was no way around it, Victor threatened the guy in true Newman form.

End of episode, Nick tried to cheer up Phyllis; Korbel called J.T. James Bond (hey, same color hair); Victor reported back to Jack about his meeting with the senator and suggested that JACK run for office; and Michael informed Dru and Neil that Devon is the prime suspect in the Carmen case.

Jill blamed Katherine for the situation at Jabot and for Billy's departure. Jill went to the GCAC and ran into Will, who asked her to join him for dinner. "I'm not coming on to you, that's the truth," he insisted. Nevertheless, she was flattered. At the manse, Katherine flashed back to her bitter rivalry with Jill.

Gloria asked Jana for fashion advice. Jana figured out that Gloria has a thing for William Bardwell, whom she got to know at her support group for people who've lost their spouses. Jana agreed to help give her a makeover to look more prim, proper and conservative — more like Will's former wife. When Jana was done, even Kevin hardly recognized his formerly flamboyant mom.

Nick and third-trimester Phyllis made love. They laid in bed and talked about hormones, the new baby and how to decorate/paint the nursery. (Yes, it's happened: they've become an ordinary couple.)

Prof. Korbel stopped by the loft to talk about art (and eroticism) with Colleen. J.T. was obviously jealous, and Korbel finally left. "Well, that was rude," snapped Colleen. "That guy's my boss, you know." Then she laced into J.T. again for not telling her about the background check Brad ordered on the professor. J.T. was exasperated and left to go shoot hoops, but Colleen chased after him on her crutches. "I hate being alone," she sighed. "I'd rather be with you." So they made up — but J.T. couldn't promise that he wouldn't hide things from her in the future, because confidentiality goes with his job as a private investigator. They went back to the loft, not speaking. Colleen said she hated fighting. J.T. suggested they drop it, and kissed her.

End of episode, J.T. and Colleen ate leftover Thai food after having sex, Phyllis started having contractions, Jill invited Will up to her room (just missing poor Gloria), and Katherine dreamed of a crying baby.

Michael, Lauren, Dru and Neil all read about the Winters' legal woes in the morning paper. Meanwhile, the DNA tests came back and Will had grounds for an arrest. He arranged for a press conference. Paul got wind of the conference and phoned Michael, who wanted a day off at home with Lauren (ha!). Katherine stopped by and stayed behind to keep Lauren company. At the last minute, the press conference was called off. Will went over to Newman and showed Neil a picture from a red-light camera taken at 5:41 p.m. on the day Carmen was killed. Neil told the DA before he was home with Dru during that time. Busted! Neil tried to wiggle out of it with a made-up story about leaving home briefly to go to the dry cleaners, but it was closed. Then they ran over to Michael's to frantically fill him in on the latest. Michael gave them the bad news: They could be indicted for lying to the grand jury alone.

When Victoria stopped by the loft to see Colleen, former one-night stand J.T. answered the door shirtless. J.T. told her that Colleen was angry when she found out from Vikki that he was investigating Korbel. Meanwhile, back at Newman, Colleen confronted Brad about investigating her favorite professor. Next, Colleen and Victoria had a long talk about trust (even though Victoria had slept with J.T.!) and confidentiality. Colleen asked Daniel for advice on how to handle J.T. At the GCAC, J.T. and Korbel played basketball. In between dribbles, J.T. fished about Korbel's past. Korbel won the game, then ended up at Newman where he bantered some more with Colleen about art. Colleen returned to the loft, where J.T. tried to make up with her by setting up a romantic dinner for two (he ordered her favorite takeout). Brad flipped when Victoria told him Korbel knows about his mother — thanks to loose-lips Colleen.

End of episode, Michael broke more bad news to Dru and Neil: "The DA now has grounds to arrest you."

Nikki complained to Victor about Jack and Sharon flaunting their relationship all over the office. Enter Michael, who assured Victor that he's investigating House of Kim. Lauren (who was still having mood swings) showed up so Michael left with her, leaving Victor to strategize with Nikki. "I'm thinking of the enormity of what Jack Abbott did," Victor sighed. "He used my state of mind to pull off all kinds of shenanigans behind my back. No one takes advantage of me without paying a steep price."

Phyllis and Sharon clashed at the N.V.P. photo shoot, as they each vamped it up for the camera (Sharon for business purposes, Phyllis for Nick's benefit before the shoot began). Phyllis tried to give Sharon tips on how to be sexy (!). Then the four argued over which photos to pick for the ad campaign. Jack asked Sharon if it still upsets her to see Nick and Phyllis together. Sharon conceded it did, "a little." OK, more than a little. Jack also admitted that he still cares for Phyllis. Phyllis, meanwhile, reported back to Nikki that the photos Jack insisted on using were "terrible." Jack ran into Nick and warned him that he should tell Phyllis to separate personal matters from business.

Will tried to stop Neil from skipping town with Dru and Devon. Dru argued that they were leaving so Devon could get an operation for cochlear implants. Will said they needed to stay and appear before the judge. Moments later, Michael and Will argued their cases before the judge. Devon spoke on his behalf, telling the judge how eager he was to have the surgery.

The judge ruled in the DA's favor — Dru, Neil and Devon were forbidden from leaving the state. The surgery would have to be performed by a local doctor in Genoa City. "Just when you thought it couldn't get worse, it does," sighed Dru.

Will and Michael both created suspect boards for the Carmen case. Will received a lab report — "We've got a match," he cheered. There were fibers from Neil's clothing found on Carmen's body. Then a Newman employee showed up and said she overheard someone threaten Carmen the day she died — Michael Baldwin!

Drucilla and Neil tried to whisk Devon away on their jet (good thing Neil never got around to selling Victor's gift).

J.T. shared the findings of his background report on Adrian Korbel with Brad. The professor appeared to be clean as a whistle, but Brad remained skeptical. Meanwhile, Korbel and Colleen bickered about proper grammar as he and Victoria planned the art benefit. Jana (sporting purple hair today) offered to help with the fund-raiser, too. Later, Victoria slipped to Colleen that J.T. was investigating Korbel (oops!). Colleen later blasted J.T. for keeping secrets again.

Victor (who brought Zapato to work) was "deeply touched" that Jack tried to help out Newman Enterprises by relocating Carmen before her death. Later, Victor connected the Carmen dots between Jack and Ji Min. Victor summoned Michael to the office. Michael showed Victor a picture of the new baby, and then reported what Jack did to Gloria (throwing her out of the Abbott mansion, getting her cut out of John's will). "The woman cannot catch a break," Michael scowled. Victor asked Michael how he found out about Jack's first attempt to buy back Jabot with a dummy company. Then Victor (he's baaack!) shared his theory that Jack secretly owns Jabot through House of Kim. Just then, Jack barged in with Zapato.

End of episode, Paul tricked Jana into getting her fingerprints on a glass, while Will's detective told him that the Winters were trying to skip town. Uh-oh.
