Y&R Recaps Week of December 4, 2006

Friday, December 8, 2006
Phyllis tried some more home remedies, including a nasty-sounding beverage, in the hopes of inducing labor. "It smells like gym socks," Nicholas complained. Phyllis admitted that while she loves being pregnant, she wants her old body back. The herbal remedies took their toll when she developed an itchy rash and hot flashes. When they went to see the OB-GYN, he warned that the baby's placement in the womb might mean that Phyllis will need a C-section.

Michael read aloud the temporary restraining order Jack and Ashley had gotten which prohibited Gloria from using the name Abbott. Glo broke down in tears. Her day only got worse when EXTREME CATWALK declined their invitation for her to be on their show, explaining that they didn't want to get involved. After, when they got some precious time alone, Michael and Lauren decided to celebrate their one-year anniversary by staying home with the baby.

At the coffeehouse, Jana questioned Detective Sullivan about Carmen's murder. Maggie asked if Jana had overheard anyone give any tips on the crime. Jana believed that Devon's covering for Drucilla. Later, Jana and Kevin continued to plan for their new apartment. Kevin mentioned that he collects car magazines, which is how he knew what kind of car Carmen drove. Jana noted that the killer could've been in Crimson Lights. Jana revealed to Kevin that she's keeping a "creepy" scrap book on Carmen's murder. Creepy is one way to put it!.... Paul and Maggie continued to bond.

Jill complained to Katherine that Kay's restlessness kept her up all night. The ladies hoped Jabot would have a decent holiday season, despite the NVP tie-in being dropped. Who should call then but EXTREME CATWALK, asking Jill to be a judge. Huge CATWALK fan, Kay, urged her to accept. Ashley was happy that Jill was doing it instead of Gloria. Jill hoped it would help Jabot. However, when a delivery person arrived with an envelope for Jill, Gloria pretended to be her and signed for it. Gloria told off Jill when she learned Jill was going on the show in her place. Jill was sympathetic when she heard about the restraining order and asked Ashley if they consider Jill to be a "real" Abbott. Ash said that Jill's marriage to John had been legal, while Gloria's wasn't. Jill called Ashley a hypocrite. Later, Glo arrived on the Abbott's doorstep, shrieking and screaming at Ashley. Ash explained that they don't want Gloria to make a laughingstock out of the Abbott name. Glo vowed revenge.... Kay informed Jill that the DNA results had arrived.

Lauren was shocked when Michael informed her that Paul quit the murder case. Gloria interrupted them to show off an article about her upcoming reality show stint.

Jill and Katherine discussed their DNA test. Kay assured her that no matter what the results are, their relationship won't change. Esther joined them and gushed about how great her daughter Kate is.... Kay told Paul that she remembers she was wearing a particular piece of jewelry in her dreams.

At Crimson Lights, Colleen and Adrian went over some plans for the benefit.... Paul told J.T. he quit the murder case. Colleen tried to join them, but J.T. sent her away. Paul explained that even though they're not working with Michael, they can still do some investigating on their own. Paul reminded J.T. how Brad is capable of murder since he killed those two thugs. Later, Paul joined Detective Maggie Sullivan for a drink.

Neil and Devon joked around, while Drucilla happily told Sharon how Devon was able to hear her voice and how they're adopting the teen. After, Sharon joined the Winterses as they met with Michael to sign the papers. Devon became teary as he thought about Yolanda. Neil and Dru reminded him how proud they are of him and the three hugged. Later, the Winterses met with the judge so they could officially adopt Devon. After, Dru invited Sharon and Michael to join them for the celebration. There, Sharon gave Dru a cute, "It's a Boy!" poster, while Devon gave his new parents, a pair of "I love Mom" and "I love Dad" mugs.... Will informed Michael that he wants to prosecute Neil and Dru for perjury. Michael sadly told this to the Winterses.

Jack told Ashley about Victor's flower arranging session. Ashley and Jack were furious when she spied the article on Glo. Neither wanted Gloria to be known as "Mrs. John Abbott."

Lauren and Amber went to the boutique with Fen in tow. Michael and Gloria arrived and Lauren showed Glo some outfits she could wear on the show. Jill, Esther and Kay then came by to coo over the baby. Amber recognized the name "Chancellor" and revealed that back in L.A., Eric Forrester used to talk about Kay.... Lauren freaked out when she came home and Fen was missing. Turns out, he was with Michael.... Later, at the GCAC, Esther spied psychic Sylvia Browne and became all tongue-tied when Gina introduced them. Sylvia warned Kay to get new shoes and told Jill that someone's after her man. Kay was surprised when her heel actually broke a few minutes later.... Amber flirted with Adrian at the coffeehouse.

Ashley and Jack confronted Gloria about the article and her decision to appear on EXTREME CATWALK. Gloria refused to quit the show. Later, the Abbotts met with a lawyer to stop her from doing so and using the Abbott name. They toasted to erasing Gloria from the family. Gloria was shocked when she was served with the papers.

Ashley reminded Jack how difficult it's been for her lying to Victor about Jack owning Jabot. Jill then reamed out Jack for ending the NVP tie-in. Jack made her think it was JiMin's idea.

Meanwhile, Nikki was all set to blow Jack out of the water. Victor, however, preferred to wait until the time's right. At the GCAC, Jack tried to listen in as Victoria and Victor talked business. Jack then called Ashley to make sure Newman doesn't know about Jabot.

Nikki met up with Katherine at the GCAC and was concerned when Kay mentioned that she's still having nightmares. After, Jill tried to help Kay decipher them. Kay revealed that the baby crying in them is a boy. The ladies wondered if they're really mother and daughter, but were reluctant to explore the truth. Kay hated to think that she has a child she never met. They finally decided to get a DNA test.

At Newman, Abby recited the Hanukkah story to Ashley and looked forward to celebrating both Hanukkah and Christmas. She was disappointed when Ashley reminded her that she won't be able to help Victoria with her tree since they're going out of town. Victoria took Abby to get breakfast, so Ash and Brad could talk. Brad realized that Ashley is still upset with him for keeping the truth about Rebecca secret from her.

The Winterses met with Michael to put together the papers for Devon's adoption. Michael became emotional that he was asked to handle such a joyous task. Devon was all smiles at the idea of officially becoming a Winters. Later, the family went to test Devon's implants. When the doctor made a statement to him, Devon was able to hear a single word. The doctor continued to work on the implants, but Devon still couldn't hear much. "At least I can hear a freight train coming. That's gotta be a plus," he cracked. When Dru got upset and began crying, he could suddenly hear more of what they were saying.

Will questioned Michael's request that the tape and bags be examined for fingerprints, but Baldwin insisted on going ahead with it.... Brad admitted his fears about being investigated to Paul. Paul explained that all Michael is interested in is defending Devon. Later, Michael accused Paul of protecting Brad. Paul decided to quit the job.

Victor called for Jack to come to his office. Surprise! Victor had set up a Japanese flower arranging session. A baffled Jack tried to bail, but Newman insisted he relax and enjoy himself. Jack gave in as Victor and the flower arranger, Sachiko, advised him to avoid symmetry and pay attention to spaces.... Nikki again tried to get Ashley to come clean about Jack, but no dice.... Jack left Victor's office awkwardly carrying his floral creation, convinced that Newman was still out of his mind. However, alone, Victor slowly took his flower arrangement and forcefully tossed it into the trash. Yikes!

Jana and Kevin prepared to move into their new place together. Kevin admitted to being nervous about living with someone.... Lauren lamented to Michael how baby Fen stays up all night. Gloria arrived and said she'd watch him since she was probably going to be up all night from excitement. She then revealed that she was asked to be a judge on EXTREME CATWALK. "I'm glad you weren't asked to be a judge on IRON CHEF AMERICA," cracked Michael. After, Lauren introduced Amber to the clan; Amber and Jana gushed about EXTREME CATWALK, comparing one episode to a popular and often-controversial talk show. Glo concluded that the late John had somehow arranged for this to happen for her.... Jana quizzed Michael about the Carmen murder case and Devon's possible culpability. Michael gently explained that he can't discuss the case and that it's not a novel since someone really did die. When Jana wouldn't let up, he assured her that it's his job to provide reasonable doubt.... Lauren offered Amber a job at her boutique.... Later, the group hung out with Gloria and helped her practice for her reality gig. An impressed Michael told her that she deserves her own show.

Victor and Sharon were happy to catch up with each other. Vic noted that Jack cutting the ties between Newman and NVP has hurt everyone. Nikki presented Victor with stats on the companies, revealing that Jabot, Newman and NVP had lost money due to the decision. Victor was determined to find out why Jack would make such a careless business move.

Meanwhile, Ashley expressed her concerns about the split to Jack. In earshot of Abby, Jack became angry and yelled out, "What do you think I'm stupid? I OWN JABOT! I am not about to let it go under." After, when Ashley dropped Abby off at Newman for Brad, Nikki questioned her; Ash didn't really give an answer. Jack called Ashley and sort of apologized, but she lied to Nikki that it was a person from shipping.... Victor colored with Abby at the office. Blabby Abby drew a picture of Jack and Ashley arguing and repeated back what Jack had said about owning Jabot. Oops! Victor's eyes narrowed as he processed this tidbit of information. When Nikki arrived, Victor encouraged Abby to repeat what she'd told him. Nikki quickly got the little girl to leave by sending her to get cookies from one of the secretaries. The Newmans then discussed what they'd just learned about Jack owning Jabot. Victor was hurt that Ashley had kept it secret from him. Nikki suggested they take Jack to court. After, Victor tried to get Ashley to come clean to him, but she covered for Jack.

At Newman, a pregnant Phyllis and Noah chatted about the baby. Upon seeing them, Sharon had a memory of when she was pregnant with Noah. Phyllis and Nick discussed ways to induce labor, including eating bean burritos and sex. Nick was all set to try the latter. When that didn't work, he suggested they try again. Meantime, he served her a castor oil and chili pepper milkshake. Blech! Later, Noah and Sharon went to see Jack. Sharon became visibly upset when Noah told Jack how he'd felt Phyllis's baby kick. Sharon wondered if she and Jack were together only because they'd both been hurt. Jack insisted that he genuinely cares for her and isn't just on the rebound.... Ashley later reamed out Jack for making her lie to Victor.

Paul, Neil and Michael assessed the trash bags and duct tape found at Newman in order to see if they matched the items found at the scene of Carmen's murder. Michael wanted the items to be examined to see who else might have handled them.

Gloria read aloud an article about her in Poise magazine. She was thrilled to be described as "a breath of fresh air." Meanwhile, Ashley seethed as she read the same piece to Jill. Ash was furious that Glo was referred to as "Mrs. John Abbott." Gloria began to brag to Will about it, but Michael interrupted so he could tell Bardwell about the items found at Newman. Later, Ashley confronted Gloria about the article and told her not to speak to the press. Ash received a call from the fictional fashion show, EXTREME CATWALK; the producer shared that Eric Forrester (from BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL) gave them her name. She invited Ashley to appear on the show. When Ashley declined, Gloria was asked, and she readily accepted.

Drucilla and Neil were hopeful when Paul told them about the bags and tape discovered. Dru wanted to inform Devon, but Neil told her to wait. He mentioned that he and Devon had tried to reach Devon's mom, Yolanda, with no success. He and Dru got news that Yolanda is doing drugs again. They asked Devon if he'd like them to officially adopt him.

Adrian and Victoria prepared for the upcoming museum benefit. He also got ready for his interview with Rebecca. Meanwhile, Rebecca wasn't sure what she was supposed to say; she decided to use a fake last name and not offer up details on her history. Adrian quizzed Victoria about her mother-in-law, but Vicky evaded his questions. When he called her "Mrs. Carlton," she revealed that she kept her maiden name and is Victoria Newman. Later, Victoria advised Rebecca to cancel the interview.

Michael and Will met with the judge to discuss the items found. The judge ruled that the items are to be sent to a lab to be examined.... Brad informed Paul that his fingerprints are on the tape because he'd used it at work. Brad feared that if the cops investigate him, his past could be revealed.
