Nick and Phyllis quietly celebrated their first Christmas with the still-nameless baby (referred to as "The One in Pink"). "Merry Christmas, Dad," said Jack, who was missing his late father. Phyllis called to wish him a happy holiday. Afterward, Jack and Ashley reminisced about the dearly-departed John.

Michael taped mistletoe on his forehead and drew Lauren into a steamy kiss. Gloria and JoAnna arrived and a grandmotherly competition ensued. When Michael and Lauren went to pay Christmas calls to their friends, the nanas grew increasingly hostile. After Kevin gave Jana a book on serial killers, she stuck a bow on her chest and told him to unwrap his present. (Wink, wink). They hit the sheets.

Victor surprised Nikki with a huge check to the Epilepsy Foundation, written in her name. Jack and Ashley joined the Newmans. Ash was suspicious of how nice Nikki was being. Chatting up Brad and Rebecca, the Newmans continued to nose around about his past as Victoria looked on nervously. Rather than doling out lavish presents, Victor explained to his guests that he made a hefty donation to charity this year. Victor and Nikki distributed sentimental presents from their pasts: Sharon got a drawing that Noah made in kindergarten; Vic gave Nikki sheet music to the first music she ever played on a piano, while she gave him his once-favorite sheepskin coat; Victoria received one of her elementary school essays and Ashley was touched by her first perfume that John put on the market. Brad and Jack got Newman Enterprises letterhead with them listed as CEOs. Victor said he used to keep it as a reminder not to let his guard down, but now claimed it's a reminder of their growing friendship. Both recipients squirmed. Rebecca lit a menorah and the Carltons observed Hanukkah.

Sharon dropped by Nicholas's place and gave him a brief kiss, which Phyllis spotted. After Sharon left, Nick gave Phyllis turquoise jewelry that reminded him of their New Mexico wedding and they smooched. Jack locked lips with Sharon and presented her with a necklace that reminded him of the time they spent in the Caribbean.

Victor and Nikki dropped in on Phyllis, Nick and the new baby, who now had a name. Not Shiloh, not Suri — Summer!

Lily paid a visit to Colleen, who confessed that she waited out the ice storm in Professor Korbel's office and they had sex. A guilt-ridden Colleen said she'd have to break up with J.T. Afterward, J.T. came over and proposed a romantic night out. Colleen responded that they should split. She denied his accusations that Adrian was somehow involved and rushed out. In the meantime at Fenmores, Amber boasted to Lily that the teacher is hot for her. A short time later, J.T. arrived at the store in search of Colleen. He questioned Lily, who kept mum. Amber hovered in the background eavesdropping as he blamed Adrian. J.T. received a phone call from someone regarding his investigation of the teacher.

Nick brought Phyllis and the baby home from the hospital. They talked over different names like "Christmas" and "Storm," but couldn't settle on one. Sharon came by so Noah could meet his little sister and watched the warm family scene with discomfort. While Phyllis led Noah on a scavenger hunt, Nick and Sharon reminisced over warm holiday memories. Sharon turned down Nick's offer to let her hold the baby, but quickly changed her mind and cooed over the bundle of joy. She got teary and admitted that she never thought she'd be standing with Nick holding a baby that isn't theirs. They shared a tender good-bye and Sharon left.

Christmas Eve fun ensued at the Winters apartment. Dru arrived home with a package for Neil, it contained a jazzy porkpie hat to celebrate the opening of Indigo. Devon asked who sent the gift. The sender was Carmen. Dru wasn't pleased. The family had resumed Yuletide activities when Michael showed up. He couldn't bring himself to tell them that Devon's DNA was found on Carmen's earring and claimed he'd just come by to wish them a Merry Christmas.

Jack and Korbel both drank at the Athletic Club bar, where the glum professor rued his lonely Christmas. Sharon came in later and confided to Jack that she had been afraid she'd hate the baby, but she doesn't. He volunteered that he knows he can't resent the baby for not being his. They toasted to the baby marking a new beginning.... All alone, Adrian raised his glass to a new beginning.... Will arrived at the club and asked Jack for a sample of his DNA. He told Jack that it was Michael's idea. "That figures," snarked Jack before walking off with Sharon.

J.T. found Colleen and apologized for jumping to conclusions about Korbel. He explained that he'd investigated and found out the teacher blew the whistle on a colleague's affair with a student. He gave Colleen her gift, beautiful jewelry and said he loves her. When J.T. stepped out of the room, Adrian called to asked if everything is okay, but Colleen said she couldn't talk and hung up before J.T. returned modeling the sweater she bought for him.

At the hospital, Phyllis and Nick discussed how lucky their new baby girl was and Nick said he was upset because he couldn't make it in time to be there by her side. Phyllis noted how awkward it was that Jack was the one who was there to help her deliver the baby, especially since they had spent so much time trying to have a baby of their own. "I can trust Jack with my life, and our baby's life," she said. Nick admitted it was one hell of a story, then informed her that Daniel and Lily were in a terrible car accident the same night. Shocked, Phyllis demanded to know details. Meanwhile, Lily relayed the story of the accident to Daniel, who was badly scratched up and still in the hospital bed with a fractured rib. Then she told him that he had a new little sister. Daniel said the only thing he remembered during the accident was the smell of Lily's shampoo.

Victoria warned Brad that they might run into her parents at the hospital so she had to tell him something. She informed him that her father discovered Brad had used an assumed name when he performed a background search before they were married. Then she told him about the fabricated story she had spun to her parents. Brad was upset at her deceptive web of lies, then wondered how he could safely pull off keeping up with them.

Nikki and Victor arrived at the hospital and thanked Jack for saving the baby's life; Victor said he owed Jack. Later, Phyllis, Nick and the baby visited Daniel's room. Phyllis wanted to know why Daniel didn't tell her he had been in the accident when they spoke on the phone. Daniel responded that he was scared to death, but told himself there was no way he was going to die on his baby sister's birthday. Brad and Victoria entered, then everyone cooed over the baby. Jack asked what they were going to name the baby; Nick joked that they should name her Otis after the elevator she was born in. Later, Jack paid Daniel a visit in private. Daniel called him a hero for helping deliver the baby and told Jack he appreciated everything he had done for him as well and joked they were probably never going to get rid of him; Jack smiled and agreed.

Gloria happily greeted Joanna, Michael and Gloria, saying she slept through the entire storm. After Joanna chided Lauren about Fen, Gloria and Joanna bickered about how Lauren should care for the colicky baby. Later, Phyllis called Lauren to tell her the news. Michael left for the hospital; Lauren stayed behind to deal with the arguing duo, but she kicked them out when she got fed up. Later, they both returned with gift baskets as peace offerings. Meanwhile, Nikki grilled Brad about his brother and said she was surprised she didn't know that about him. Brad said he really didn't like talking about it. Later, Nikki told Victor that Victoria was lying to them about Brad's past. Victor called Michael to ask for his help in finding out more about Brad.

Back at the hospital, Victor commended Jack again for helping Phyllis. Jack teared up as he remembered how difficult it was being stranded alone without electricity and delivering a baby. Then he said that the only thing that got him through was to think, "It's up to me. If anything goes wrong, it's my responsibility." He couldn't live with the thought of losing Phyllis or the baby. Later, Jack had some sincere words for the new baby.

After JT and Colleen visited Daniel in the hospital (and after JT told her she looked miserable, but believed her story about where she was during the storm), they met up with Victoria to plan the benefit. Colleen was preoccupied with flashbacks of her hot night with Korbel.

Amber, Jill and Kay discussed Phillip. Jill informed Kay that Phillip knew what she did. Kay wondered if it had anything to do with her nightmares and added that she still didn't have any answers. Jill admitted she should never had sent Phillip off to boarding school so young. Jill said John would have been a wonderful father and showed regret about how Phillip turned out. Kay took blame, saying he may have inherited alcoholism from her. Then they both admitted they were failures, then reminisced about him as they showed Amber pictures. Frustrated, Kay exclaimed she didn't know what the violets were all about, except that there was a baby crying in her nightmares. Jill calmed her and said they'd figure it out.

Dressed-to-the-nines, Kevin and Jana arrived at Indigo where the patrons got to wait out the ice storm in style.... Victor and Nikki danced in candlelight and exchanged sweet nothings while Neil and Dru gathered supplies. Rebecca, also stranded at the club, chatted with Victor who nosed around about Brad's past.... While J.T. And Victoria rued not being able to get through to their respective others, Colleen was smooching Professor Korbel in a classroom and Brad was watching Sharon sleep at the Newman ranch. Korbel pulled away from the kiss and acknowledged to his student that he'd crossed the line. They then started seriously making out. Meanwhile, back at the ranch Sharon awoke and sat by the fire with Brad; they shared an intimate chat. He revealed details of his youth and said Sharon reminded him of his sister, Stephanie. She suggested he plant a tree in his sister's memory.

Jana questioned J.T. about the Carmen Mesta case, but after leading her on, he didn't reveal anything.... In the classroom, Korbel and Colleen had sex. Then they talked about gargoyles and stained glass. No, seriously. They really did.

In the stalled elevator, Jack blamed himself for an in-labor Phyllis's predicament, saying she didn't take maternity leave because of him. The mom-to-be blamed her own checkered past... At the embankment where Lily and Daniel had crashed, Nick managed to pull a wounded Daniel from the car before the fuel line exploded. He called the hospital to alert them that a crash victim was coming. He then phoned Phyllis so that she could talk to Daniel and found out that she's in labor. As Nick rushed Daniel to the hospital, Phyllis cried to Jack that the baby was coming.

When the storm cleared, J.T. showed up on campus to retrieve Colleen, who shared a knowing good-bye with her teacher.... Daniel checked out okay.... Phyllis arrived at the hospital with Jack, who told Nick to say hello to his daughter.

As the power outage continued, various duos were stuck together.

In the stalled elevator, Jack worried about Phyllis's contractions. Nick called from his cell to assure Phyll that he was driving through the ice storm to get her. She asked him to call 911, but didn't get a chance to tell Nick she was going into labor. Phyllis told Jack about the breech birth, then instructed how to help her deliver with the scissors in her purse and mouthwash (to use as a disinfectant). As her contractions continued, she begged him to make sure her baby lives. He promised he'd do so no matter what.

Brad and Sharon realized they wouldn't be going anyplace for a while since the whole city was dark. Brad built a fire, while Sharon chatted about wishing they had a bottle of wine. Sexual tension ensued. While Sharon checked in with Victoria, who was watching over Noah, Brad poured some vino. After getting on the phone to tell his wife that his cell battery is dying, Brad commended Sharon for trying to put Victoria's mind at ease. Sharon rehashed Nick and Phyllis's affair and observed that their baby will always be a reminder. Braid said she could lean on him and confessed that he loves her. Sharon said that she loves him, too.

On campus, Colleen was alone in a classroom with Professor Korbel, who vowed to keep his distance, saying he was at the college because of an affair with a student. Colleen assumed it was his own affair, but Korbel explained that he'd blown the whistle on a colleague and was railroaded off campus. Korbel then launched into a monologue about how he'd never get involved with a student.... The teacher then questioned Colleen about her dating life and more or less went on about how irresistible she is. One thing led to another and Korbel pulled the student into a steamy kiss.

In their wrecked car, Lily faintly told a wounded Daniel that she's okay. He explained he couldn't leave the car because he was pinned between the seat and steering wheel. Lily got out and flagged down a car, which turned out to be driven by Nick, who rushed down the embankment to help. Looking under the car, Nick realized there was a fuel leak.

At the Chancellor mansion, Amber came to deliver a gown and found Katherine with the psychic Sylvia Browne. Amber was surprised and Esther's jaw dropped when Sylvia noted that Amber had lost her cell phone. Sylvia explained that she was conducting a reading for Katherine. Jill entered with a very Clue-style candlestick and was clearly uneasy with the situation. Still, she asked to stay and wept when it was obvious Sylvia had contacted Phillip. Phillip said that he forgives Kay, but someone living needs her help. Kay was puzzled.
