Y&R Recaps Week of January 8, 2007

Friday, January 12, 2007
Sharon arrived at Drucilla's to find her hysterical over the break-in. Det. Sullivan showed up and drew her weapon, looking for the assailant. (Elsewhere, Lily confided in Colleen — who proceeded to play detective — that Devon destroyed Dru's parking garage ticket from the night Carmen was killed). Dru pointed the finger at David Chow, but Sullivan said anyone could have done this. Brrrrring. A couple of crank call riled Dru even more. Knock, knock, it's David! David taped her as Dru lashed out of him for slicing up her clothes. David said he was in her building looking for an apartment.

Amber flirted with Korbel at Crimson Lights and made a snarky remark about his sketch of Colleen. Jana watched them and called Korbel "dark" to Kevin. Korbel was chilly to Amber, who promptly called her Internet beau, Cane. He met her at CL, where Amber took great pleasure in introducing him to Korbel. Jana served lattes to Colleen and Lily and asked about the murder investigation, as well as Prof. Korbel. "She's so...weird," Lily remarked, as Jana walked away.

Michael and Paul contemplated killing Sheila. "What are you going to do with my body after you kill me?" Sheila taunted. When Lauren called Michael on his cell, Sheila started screaming in the background. Luckily, Lauren didn't figure out what was going on. Phyllis suggested that they take the kids to the park tomorrow. For now, they painted their nails. Back at the cage, Paul told Michael he's going on a date with Det. Sullivan. Sheila announced she's going on a hunger strike.

End of episode, Paul had coffee with Sullivan; Lauren got all lovey-dovey with Michael; Sheila wrecked her cage; Jana discovered that Korbel's former student killed herself; and David revealed to Dru that he took a sublet in that very building, so now they're neighbors.

What did Cane say his name was short for?

Leanna Love reported on the Carmen Mesta murder case, interviewing David Chow. David claimed they charged the wrong person — Dru was responsible for Carmen's death. Victor, Brad, Victoria, Jack, Ashley, Michael, Lauren, Dru, Neil, Devon, Lily and Daniel all caught the show. Cue the videotape of Dru and Carmen's catfight at Newman Enterprises. Michael suspected Bardwell handed over the videotape. Dru was mortified, and proceeded to get a chilly response from everyone at the office. Enter David, who continued to torment Dru. Neil arrived and told Chow to shoo.

Phyllis dropped by Michael and Lauren's. Cut to Sheila, who continued to goad Paul. He left her to go meet Michael. When Michael had to go (to visit Sheila), Det. Sullivan joined Paul. They flirted and he asked her out to dinner.

Ashley said goodbye to Genoa City. First, she brought Abby to see Victor. Nikki thought it was the best move for Ashley, of course, as they said their snarky goodbyes. Then Ashley went to get Abby and had a moment alone with Victor. They lovingly embraced, while Abby said goodbye to Brad and Victoria in Brad's office. Ashley to Brad: "It's not goodbye. It's see you later."

Victor commended Brad for allowing Ashley to take Abby to China with her. Then talk turned to Brad's past and finding the elusive reliquary. Enter Nick, with baby Summer. He wanted to know what was up. Victoria lied and said they were discussing the Beauty of Nature project. Once he left, Victor made it clear he didn't want Nick involved in any reliquary business.

Nick called Phyllis to report that Summer smiled for the first time. She was still with Lauren, worrying about her state of mind. Lauren turned down Phyllis' suggestion to go shopping, but she did leave the house briefly to take a walk with Fen and Phyll. It didn't last long, though — Lauren had to rush back to the confines of the apartment.

End of episode, Victor vowed to bring down Jack (especially now that Ashley was out of the equation); Dru got home and found her entire wardrobe cut to ribbons; and Ashley said goodbye to Jack, who then turned to...Phyllis! She turned down his offer to come visit, so Jack stayed home alone.

Katherine and Jill called J.T. to the Jabot boardroom to talk about the baby switch again. "There's not a lot to go on," sighed J.T. Katherine recalled that she met Violet at a bar. Gloria barged in, frantic about her guest judge stint on "Extreme Catwalk." Gloria demanded to know what was going on between Jill and Katherine, but they wouldn't tell her. Gloria was delighted when Jill asked her to handle all the "EC" details.

Ashley announced that she's going to China. She ragged on Jack for his recent ruthless behavior. "It doesn't have to be this way," Jack insisted. "I don't want to lie for you!" she yelled. Gloria walked in on them arguing, and then rubbed it in Jack's nose that Jill asked her to handle the "EC" project. Ashley left to say goodbye to Victor. Next, Ashley said goodbye to Jill. "I'll be your eyes and ears when I'm over there," Ashley promised.

Victor proposed to Brad that they team up to find the Grudgeon reliquary. "We pretend to be part of the black market," Victor suggested.

Colleen admired Adrian's sketches. Then she texted him: "Free 4 coffee?" "Lights 15 minutes!" he responded in 15 seconds. Korbel told Colleen of the professor who had an affair with a student, and the student ended up killing herself! Unfortunately, their rendezvous was cut short when Brad called summoning Colleen to the house (he wanted to go into hiding again). Jana chatted up Korbel and noted that he reminded her of the serial killer in a book she read.

End of episode, Gloria lit into Jack ("Your own dear sister can't stand to be around you anymore!"); Ashley said goodbye to Brad (who insisted that she bring Abby with her); and Brad agreed to go along with Victor's plan.

Michael visited Sheila. Paul explained again to Michael why he's holding her in the cage (because he doesn't trust the cops to hold her, and she's determined to kidnap Lauren and baby Fen). They bickered again over what to do next. "Phyllis" tried to appeal to Michael, who ignored her, and then she continued to taunt Paul. When she knocked over her lamp, Paul handcuffed her and entered the cage. She still managed to kick him in the head, so he left without removing the handcuffs. Paul went to Crimson Lights, where he ran into Det. Sullivan. She wondered out loud about his black eye and his quiet demeanor, but he didn't tell her anything.

Jill gave Katherine the cold shoulder for switching Phillip at birth. Enter Amber, who wanted to talk about her Web search based on the clues Sylvia Browne provided. "I don't really know what I'm looking for," Amber admitted, as Katherine and Jill tried to change the subject. When Amber left, Jill and Katherine called in reinforcements — J.T. Amber went to Crimson Lights and continued to chat up her Instant Message mystery man. He sent her a picture and was "gorgeous," according to Jana.

Phyllis (the REAL Phyllis) took Summer to visit Lauren and overheard Lauren cancel another doctor's appointment. Afterward, she met with Michael and said she's worried about Lauren, who won't leave the apartment. Michael dismissed it as "new mommy syndrome" at first, but Phyllis was insistent. They returned to the apartment and performed an intervention on Lauren. When Michael wanted to take Lauren to the doctor, she couldn't leave the house and had a breakdown. Michael had the doctor come to them.

Carmen's ex, David Chow (Vincent Irizarry), showed up at Crimson Lights and introduced himself to Drucilla, whom he accused of killing Carmen. Will arrived and wanted to know what David Chow knows. Dru ran to Newman to fill Neil in on the latest. Enter Chow, who again accused Dru of whacking Carmen. Back at CL, Devon admitted to Lily that he's afraid Dru really did kill Carmen. He told her about the parking ticket he found that proves Dru was in the Newman garage at the time of Carmen's death, not at home like she told the police.

End of episode, Paul brought Phyllis a new lamp and finally uncuffed her; Amber IM-ed her new friend some more; Leanna Love tracked down David Chow to get the scoop on Carmen's murder; and Katherine told Jill to stuff it long enough for them to find out if the real Philip is still alive.

Jill wouldn't believe that Katherine stole her baby out of spite. "We're going to find you help," Jill promised. "I do not need a doctor," Katherine protested. Then Katherine recounted how she gave Jill's child to a woman named Violet. "I gave her the ring (the one Kay dreamed about a few weeks ago) because I knew she'd need money," Katherine confessed. "And then she disappeared." "If you took Phillip," Jill asked, "who did I raise?" "I wish I knew," Katherine cried. Nikki made a pot of tea and tried to calm a thunderstruck Jill. "Where's my son, the one I gave birth to?" Jill sobbed. "Yes, it's possible your son is still alive," Katherine said. Jill was livid and swore she would never be able to forgive Katherine if what she's saying is true.

The cute bartender at Indigo tried to pick up Colleen. J.T. was jealous — and he didn't even know Colleen was flashback to making love with Korbel. Speaking of Korbel, he was at his apartment having sex with Amber. Afterward, Amber got an IM from a man who said his adoptive mother is Violet Montgomery (see above). Back at Indigo, Colleen ditched J.T. when she realized she had to do something for — guess who? — Korbel. J.T. accompanied Colleen to see Korbel and pick up her paper.

Sharon invited Jack over for dinner for Cassie's birthday. She made pigs in a blanket and macaroni and cheese, and they talked about past loves (i.e. Phyllis and Nick). Noah spent the night with Nick, Phyllis and his new baby sister. Nick seemed fine at first, but lost his cool while fixing the toaster. "It's Cassie," he admitted. He apologized to Phyllis for being grumpy, then he gave her a foot massage.

End of episode, Sharon got flowers from Nick and broke down when she read his sweet note about Cassie; J.T. asked Colleen to take another shower with him; viewers discovered that the man IM-ing Amber had an accent; and Katherine told Jill that Violet is dead.
