Y&R Recaps Week of June 11, 2007

Amber, Daniel and Kevin were stunned to see hundreds of thousands of dollars in Plum's duffel bag. Kevin wondered where the money came from. Amber begged Kevin and Daniel to "help me find what I'm looking for," but kept
refusing to give the guys details on what exactly that was. "There's a dead guy in my apartment and a bagful of cash," Kevin exclaimed, panicking that he'd get in trouble with the police again. Amber left. "The cops would love to pin this on me," Kevin lamented to Daniel. Amber soon returned — with her husband in tow. Fortunately Daniel and Kevin had hidden the body under the bed. Amber managed to get Cane out of the apartment. Kevin got a text
message from Jana, pleading with him to forgive her. Kevin didn't believe a word she wrote. Amber, Kevin and Daniel agreed that everything about Plum's death and the money would be kept a secret.
Phyllis agreed that she had overstayed her welcome at the Abbott manse. Jack said that the stress on Sharon was too much. Phyllis assured her ex-husband that there were no hard feelings and she'd soon be out. Ben rushed over with the news about a blog that hinted Jack had ties to organized crime. Jack exploded and said he wanted to debate Nikki. "I want a conversation with this woman in a public place," he barked. "Make the call." Meanwhile, over at Nikki's campaign headquarters
(a.k.a. Victor's office), David told her it didn't look good that Victor was not around for Nikki's campaign. Nikki left Victor a voice message and begged him to
please call her. "I'm worried," she exclaimed. Then Nikki placed a call to
Victor's ex-wife Hope and learned that all was well with Victor Jr. after all. "He had
time to touch base with her," Nikki said icily. Nikki called Jack and said she'd love to take part in a debate with him. Sharon, Phyllis and Ben
decided that the best way to go after Nikki would be to hit at her marriage. Jack agreed to an interview to counteract the mob story. David and Karen
were going to stir up more controversy about the fact that Jack was living with his ex-wife Phyllis and his current wife Sharon. Phyllis and Sharon were shocked to see how they had both been slandered on the Web. "Nikki!"
they both said in unison. Nikki went to a gossip site where the writer wondered if Nikki was in any state to hold office, as her husband had
abandoned her and she had just lost her son. Nikki had to agree with the writer. "Why
isn't he here for me?" Nikki cried into David's arms. Paul arrived at Jack's office with what he had learned about David. There wasn't much to tell, other than the fact that David took the credit in getting a governor
re-elected. Phyllis and Sharon decided to plant a nanny cam in Victor's office to catch Nikki and David in a compromising situation. They agreed not
to tell Jack.
Cane called Amber asking about Plum. To keep her husband from coming to the apartment, Amber agreed to meet him for a bite to eat. While he waited, Cane joined Paul for a cup of coffee. Paul advised Cane to "take the wife out at least once a week." A nervous Amber arrived and assured her husband she had no idea where
Plum was. "He's gone. Can't we just forget about him?" Amber said. Cane wouldn't take that for an answer. He made it clear that Plum's behavior
was "unforgivable."

Phyllis was grateful for Sharon and Jack's hospitality and care. "You've been my lifeline since I lost my husband." Phyllis joked how unusual it was to have the ex-wife stay with the ex-husband and new wife. Jack complimented his wife on her gracious behavior. He said it was time for Phyllis to
leave, but Sharon said she wanted her to stay. Phyllis came out of the tub and
overheard them talking about sticking it out a little longer. "My halo needs a little polishing," Sharon smiled. Phyllis imagined that Nicholas was there kissing her on the cheek but then realized it was a dream. She told
Sharon that she wasn't there just because she hurt her back; Phyllis couldn't cope with being home alone. There were too many memories. "He was my entire life," Phyllis said. Sharon said she missed Nick too, but she finally
erupted. "Do you ever think of anyone other than yourself? I don't have any sympathy for the woman who stole my husband away from me," she blurted out, surprising both Jack and Phyllis. Phyllis apologized. Jack admitted that everything was too much for Sharon. Jack offered to book Phyllis a room at the athletic club with her own nurse and nanny.
Nicholas was seen in a wet forest struggling and looking very beaten up. He collapsed. He woke up (or was it a dream?) and saw Cassie, who was ready to take him with her. (Are we talking heaven here?) Logan found Nicholas and asked him to come with her. At the same time, Cassie kept asking him to join her. Logan tended to Nicholas as he kept asking for Cassie. She gave Nick a beverage to help bring his fever down.
Gloria sat by her husband's bedside. Michael held a family meeting outside William's room. He broke the news that William didn't have that much of a an inheritance. Maggie visited William and Gloria. Gloria urged Maggie to keep talking to him. Once alone, Maggie tried to get the truth out of him. He looked at her and began getting anxious. Clearly he was trying to tell
Maggie something. She gave him a pen, but that didn't work. They worked out an arrangement. He'd blink once for yes, twice for no. Lauren and Michael wondered what Maggie was talking to William about. They were concerned as to what William's reaction would be if she mentioned Gloria's name, or the Jabot case. Sure enough, Maggie asked him some questions about that very case. He frantically began blinking no, no, no. Gloria reentered the room.
Maggie told Gloria that she was pretty sure William was trying to tell her something about the Jabot case. Gloria said she wished she could help them (yeah, right). She said she was sure William had his reasons not talking about the case with her. Maggie promised to keep them in the loop about the case. Gloria told William that she hated lying to Maggie, but reasoned, "I can't go to jail. Who will take care of you?" she asked. Tears began falling down William's face.
Lily's credit card was rejected at Crimson Lights. Daniel frantically tried to sell his car. He needed to do something to make some money. Kevin assured him he'd be fine once he could prove he'd been scammed. Daniel felt it was time to tell Lily the truth about his financial situation. Lily accused Daniel of lying to her again. Daniel wanted her to return to therapy with him. Moments later Lily joined Daniel in his session. Daniel admitted to having "messed up big time. I want to change. Which means telling you everything." Lily said she didn't think Daniel was the same guy she married. Daniel
disagreed. He promised to do everything he could to get her back and the young couple hugged.
Amber pounded on Plum's door and with Daniel and Kevin's help they broke
into his room. Plum looked dead. Amber started crying. "We can't leave him like this," she sobbed. Amber insisted on finding something "that stores digital stuff" before they called the police. They began searching his room. Daniel found a bag on a high shelf. He opened it and found bundles of money.

Brad and Victoria broke the news of their divorce to Abby, who responded by saying she hated them. When Victoria empathized later, Brad shot her down and turned the discussion to business. He told her about his deal to testify against Phyllis and then dropped the bomb that he was selling Clear Springs, but not "to anyone with the last name of Newman." Her response was to freeze their joint assets before meeting up with JT. As they flirted about doing something "completely irresponsible", a watchful Karen didn't miss a thing. Later, their shower sex was interrupted by someone — Brad — banging on the door. "You two deserve each other," he snorted after catching them in their towels. Then Brad called his lawyer with the decision to play hardball in his divorce, while Victoria told JT she was relieved their secret was out. She laughed when she realized he already knew she was pregnant.
After more discussion of how houseguest Phyllis might hurt his campaign, Jack shocked Sharon, Phyll and Ben with a rumor about Nikki and David having "a thing". He somehow knew someone high up (i.e. Karen) had warned David to back off. Ben licked his lips over the idea of getting an image of the pair kissing. Sharon got some dirt from a temp that Karen was off to get food, so she "ran into" Karen at the GCAC. They made campaign small talk and Karen told Sharon they could be friends without mixing biz into it. Meanwhile, Sharon had left Phyllis and Jack alone with the nanny came, who caught them being quite affectionate. And when Jack met with Paul, who he was hiring to look into David's history, the cam caught Phyllis bouncing her baby girl around the room. Lucky for Phyllis, she noticed the cam while doing her daily exercises. She was back on the couch when Jack got home and made sure he found the nanny cam. When Jack called Ben (thinking it was put there by the competition), Sharon fessed up. "I don't think that Phyllis is really injured!" she screamed, so an "insulted" Phyllis told her to play it. Of course, there was nothing juicy on the tape anymore and Sharon apologized. "I do not blame you," Phyllis vamped. "This reflects more on me than it does Sharon."
Karen watched uneasily as Nikki and David joked around and crossed physical boundaries. "We're becoming too familiar with each other in casual conversation… And we've gotta be careful of that, otherwise we'll fall back into that familiarity in public," she warned. Then "naughty" Nikki brought out some éclairs, which are David's weakness. Karen made another comment but Nikki insisted her relationship with David was professional. Later, she asked David if he'd told someone about their kiss. He said their secret was safe and pushed Karen's concerns off as "professional jealousy." They agreed they wouldn't make the same mistake again, so their excited hug after she got a good endorsement was awkward. Later, Paul showed up to "help" the campaign.
At the coffee house, Amber cooed over Cane while tying his tie for a big meeting. When he left, Plum (aka "Garrett) stepped out and again threatened to send Cane her sex tapes. Then he planted a kiss on her, so she ran to Daniel for help. Of course, he needed his own help with Strangers by Nite steeling his dinero and asked for a loaner. She figured getting Plum a job might get him a loan and suggested he serve as Plum's reference. She had a set of new cell phones for each of them to answer as a faux reference, which also meant they could continue talking under their spouses' radars. Then Cane returned, his meeting having been canceled, and was not pleased to catch the pair chatting. After he told Daniel to get lost, Amber gave him the new faux contacts for "Garrett". Cane called the reference, catching Daniel with his mom (asking for a loan). Daniel stepped aside to give a glowing review that landed Plum the job interview, which Phyllis found suspicious. "I don't believe you're going to tell me the truth," she decided. "I'm not giving you a loan."
At Kev's place, Kevin wondered after Plum, but Daniel was more concerned with losing his account balance to an internet fisher. Kevin couldn't offer a loaner, but promised to keep Daniel's predicament quiet. Right after Daniel left, Kevin got an instant message from Jana. "I miss you, Kev," she wrote and after many apologies, signed off "Luv you so much." He ran to Paul, who warned him to avoid getting obsessed. "I'm telling you from experience, when a criminal says 'I love you, I miss you,' you wanna move," he said, but Kevin responded to Jana when she IMed him again. When he got home, he tried to get into Garrett's room, but Garrett didn't answer — because he was dead!

A worn-out Gloria told Michael and Lauren that William was awake but she hadn't seen him yet. Supportive Michael promised, "I'll be here as your son to hold your hand and... if he wakes up and accuses you of manslaughter, I'll be here as your attorney. So, well, you're covered either way." The doctor informed them that William was stable and the clot was dissolving, but he wasn't out of danger. Before they went in to see him, Michael warned Gloria to have realistic expectations. Unable to talk, William lifted his hand in request of a pen, but he wasn't able to write legibly either. Gloria promised she'd see him get better. The doctor told Lauren and Michael his condition was to be expected and that proper treatment MIGHT bring him to a full recovery. He warned about depression, but of all the symptoms, Michael liked the idea that the stroke could "affect thought processes." Back at the apartment, Gloria just about had her own stroke when she learned husband's recent inheritance was "a company riddled with debt and tied up in litigation."
Kevin schooled Daniel in the wonders of therapy, insisting it could save his marriage. Then Daniel got a call that he'd bounced a check. When he went online, he saw his account only had $50 in it. Kevin determined all his funds had been stolen. A call from Paul interrupted and Kevin rushed out, but he continued to help over the phone. When Daniel noticed an e-mail from Strangers by Nite instead of Strangers by Night, Kevin told him he'd been "fished" by internet thieves. "They send out a bogus e-mail to see if anyone takes the bait, and you did," he explained. Then Paul arrived with an update on Jana, who had been in Kutna Hora and left behind an unsent postcard to Chaz Mason in Fiji. Kevin was suspicious of her carelessness and wondered if it was a misdirect. "It's possible that she was just giving you enough information to send you on a wild goose chase," Paul agreed, and told him to back off until they found something more substantial. He warned it would get costly, but Kevin was adamant that they continue.
Lily was also at Crimson Lights, where Plum (aka Garrett) introduced himself, saying he recognized her from the EXTREME CATWALK catfight and that her hubby was an idiot. After he left, Lily set things up to register for summer school. Later, she grilled Garrett about Amber, who showed up and begged for her forgiveness. Unfortunately, Garrett said Amber was from Nevada, but Amber told the truth — she's from Furnace Creak, CA. "It must be hard keeping all your lies straight," Lily sniffed. Amber scrambled, but Lily just scoffed at her with a smile. "You blew your chance," she said and turned to see Daniel arrive. Daniel covered for the lost money by claiming he'd lost his bank card and they had to get new ones. She signed the forms, but asked if her summer school check for $1000 would clear. He lied and said their account hadn't been touched. Inside, Amber went to talk to Plum, who had gotten caught lying on his resumé. When Cane checked his references, he'd learned they were all "bogus". Amber had no patience, so he finally admitted he "got some people mad back in LA" and didn't want Cane asking about him.
After Sharon served Phyllis breakfast, Phyllis thanked her for being her "housemaid". Then she opened up about Nick and her regrets, but any real niceties were gone when Sharon returned to find Phyllis sitting up. She told Phyllis to schedule an MRI and listened in as Phyllis pretended to make an appointment. Suspicious, Sharon called the doctor once she got to the GCAC and confirmed Phyllis was faking. She had flowers delivered to Phyllis, asking that they be "large and colorful without being ostentatious", and that she get delivery confirmation. Phyllis immediately called to thank her, noting that they were still on the porch. She seemed truly touched, admitting, "They're the first flowers anyone's sent me since Nick died." When Sharon returned, Phyllis was gimping back to the couch. Sharon empathized and chatted, while setting up a nanny cam.
When shirtless Nick woke up dizzy and in pain, a beautiful woman introduced herself as Logan. She told him he had a laceration on his infected leg that needed stitches. He knew his name, but neither of them knew how he'd gotten there. The internist told him not to move, since she didn't know the extent of his injuries, and when he wondered how things could "get worse," she answered, "You could be dead. I'm the only reason you're still alive." She proceeded to give him a checkup as she told him she was on a hiking trip, had no cell reception and her car was miles away. He was intent on getting to a hospital, but she said that wasn't happening. "We'll have to make do," she said, explaining he was too sick for her to leave him alone and then shooting down any ideas he had to get out of there. When she went to get water, Nick tried to get out of bed. It took everything he had to get to his feet, but he hobbled out of the door.

Sharon caught "injured" Phyllis up off the couch, carrying Summer. Phyllis feigned desperate pain, but Sharon didn't look convinced. Both women were intent on playing it supportive and saccharine, especially when Jack came down. They managed to keep smiling even as Sharon begrudgingly agreed to pick up a few things for Phyllis. Alone with Jack, Phyllis again hoped she wasn't hurting his campaign and insisted that his competition, Nikki, "doesn't stand a chance." As he fluffed her pillow, it was clear she was enjoying her ex's attention. She also enjoyed watching him play with Summer and hearing him admit he'd hoped Summer was his. Add Noah's return and Jack and Phyllis were playing house. Noah revealed he had planned to write his school "hero" essay about Nick, but was instead going to do it on his step-pop. Phyllis watched as a touched Jack told stories about his trip to Yellowstone with Nick, and Nick's rock collection. Noah was thrilled that Jack still had the collection and as they went through it, Phyllis shared rock facts with Noah. When Noah went to find more rocks, Phyllis and Jack fawned over each other some more.
After finalizing things with his lawyer at the GCAC, Brad ran into Sharon, who was ordering Phyllis' custard. He gave Sharon a chance to vent and then told her he was going to testify against Phyllis. Sharon was relieved, both for him and herself, but admitted, "Sometimes I actually feel sorry for her… Until she opens her mouth, and then I'm over it." Brad wondered why Jack, who could afford to help Phyllis anywhere, wanted her at the manse. When Sharon returned, she was all smiles and "innocently" wondered who would watch over Phyllis and Summer in the coming days. She suggested they hire a nurse, but candidate Jack was worried he'd accidentally hire a campaign spy, so he said no. Then Brad showed up to finalize the sale of his Clear Springs property. While Jack and Sharon went to look over Summer, Brad gave Phyllis a hard time. Instead of getting angry, Phyllis smiled and sighed, "Imagine if your wife had asked for a divorce six months ago. Sharon might have a different husband."
Michael held a guilty Gloria back as her new hubby was wheeled into the hospital. The paramedics called it a "possible stroke", which Gloria was sure she'd caused. "William knows I'm the one who contaminated the cream," she told Michael. "He was getting ready to turn me in when he fell." Michael was relieved her guilt was still a secret, but all Gloria wanted was for William to be okay. After the rest of the family showed up, a doctor confirmed it was an ischemic stroke and commended her for calling 911 right away. She tearfully asked if her fight was the cause, but doctor insisted she was in the clear. While guilt-ridden Gloria visited with her hubby, her sons concluded that William was the only one who knew.
At Crimson Lights, Daniel bitched about being on the outs with Lily, who wanted him to see a therapist. "Everyone can benefit from a little couch time," insisted Kev, so Daniel made an appointment with Kevin's therapist. She wanted Lily to join, but Lily wasn't receptive. After some snippy comments, Lily hung up while he was giving her the appointment info. He was surprised and relieved that she showed up to the session with Dr. Farr. It wasn't long before they were arguing over his porn habit. He insisted he hadn't cheated on her, saying "It’s the internet. It's not even real. You know, I — it's not like I've met any of these people in real life, Lily." Then he complained that Lily never believes him, but she didn't know how long it would take for her to trust him again. After the session, Lily told him it only made her feel worse, concluding, "This is not my problem. It's yours. So deal with it yourself."
Amber found Cane and Plum (aka "her cousin Garrett") talking about her. She tried to play along with Plum's made-up stories and finally shut him up by laughing about how much he liked to play dress up with her. "We used to fight over his mom's pink high heels," she teased, but when Cane went to get a drink, she wasn't laughing. Plum pulled out a naked photo of her and threatened to show Cane. When Cane returned, he learned that "Garrett" was staying with Daniel. "That guy does you a lot of favors," he sniped, but Amber impatiently insisted it was Kevin who was doing her the favor. That didn't stop his questions when Garrett left them alone. He even suggested Garrett stay with them, but Amber said he wasn't reliable and had a history of stealing. Then she asked him to set her "cousin" up with a job in Clear Springs so he'd leave town, which Cane did as soon as Garrett returned. Garrett turned the offer down, so Cane set him up with an interview at Jabot.
Presumed-dead Nick was lying on a bare mattress with a sleeping bag. He rolled over to see a beautiful woman, who said. "It's about time you woke up." He looked around in dazed confusion and closed his eyes again.
